feels very 2014 but compared to a lot of shit i've read that was written around a decade ago, this was pretty decent. i love a good forbidden romance with some drama. this had that but also some hints of kennedy ryan brilliance. healing from trauma especially.

i don't think you need to rush out and pick this one up, i think kennedy's more recent releases are much better. but this was not bad!

LOVING YOU ALWAYS is the second book in the Bennett Series and the conclusion to the two part love story between Walsh Bennett and Kerris Moreton. The emotion evoked and the authentic thoughts, words and actions of the protagonists is absolutely stunning. I completely soaked up the feelings of the characters and their all consuming love story. It's about love, guilt and wanting to do the right thing whilst dealing with deep rooted issues. My heart ached for four characters within the narrative of this story. Each person seemingly with the wrong half depicted with clarity. So many broken relationships and far reaching consequences caused by human mistakes. This second part in the series reaffirms all the reasons why the story played out the way it did, I had an inkling of what may occur but in reality nothing in my mind compared to the complexity of emotion and the developments showcased by the author. The emotional layers, the writing and the palpable raw feelings all perfectly on display. The heroine does not feel indecisive, that’s why this story works; she’s living out her convictions with courage. This book gives complete and resounding understanding of all her reasons why.

Love triangles often prove to be a tricky subject matter. Plots where emotions of the heart are betrayed can often be a bitter pill to swallow. The hero or heroine can feel irksome, flaky and downright annoying if they’re not written with absolute care and attention to detail; they can become a person to hate because they seem indecisive or careless with another’s heart. It’s a fine line the author has to perfectly execute to balance all the elements and convince the reader of the motivation for each character. Kennedy Ryan walks this fine line to perfection and sprinkles a heavy dose of depth and beauty for good measure.

This story is a pure emotional feast, perfect for readers who bask in the raw emotion of protagonists waging a war on their feelings, making choices that are not always right, going through the hurt and coming out the other side.

Note: This is the second part of a two book series (Books 3 & 4 are both about a different couple so can definitely be read as STANDALONES

My review thoughts for WHEN YOU ARE MINE.

Ryan adroitly navigates this messy love triangle, ensuring none of the parties involved is unduly vilified.
Not my fave book of hers, still, there's no denying how good of a storyteller she is.

Loving You Always was one tough and emotional read. It's the sequel to When You Are Mine and I would prefer one to read that before Loving You Always, just to get the full story and the connection to every character.

When I finished When You Are Mine I wanted so many things for the characters and I got what I wanted and so much more in LYA. I just had to go through so damn much to get it.
Kerris, Cam and Walsh made some wrong choices and they were all paying for them in the most difficult and emotional way. Their journey to a resolution was heartbreaking, angsty and so beautiful.
Kerris and Walsh were unbelievable together. Their love and connection so strong and how they finally both claimed one another was mind blowing. My heart was beating like crazy throughout the entire story.
The story and their relationship took its time but it never got boring. I was so invested in their journey and relationship.
The epilogue was out of this world. So perfect and filled with so much hope for every character and what's to come.

I can honestly say I enjoy every character in this series except for Sofie but I know I will get her story in the final book of the series. So her story is something I look forward to but also Cam's story will be something extraordinary. His hurt and traumatic past has left him utterly broken and lost. This series is not to be missed. I already have the final two books lined up.

“I’m done looking for peace, Kerris. It knows where to find me.”

I wish the series started with this one.

•I know I said I hated both Kerrie and Walsh but they grew on me, they do belong together and I just wish that Cam wasn't hurt in the process.

I love the character development. The author knew how to make you feel everything. The lines were touching and heartfelt.

“She saw her failure, her selfishness, her faithless heart woven between the lines of text.” ~ Kerri

You'll feel how is it to go through Divorce, the moment you realise that you made mistakes. And how can a piece of paper change you.

“...Sometimes I find myself on the verge of tears in a stupid board meeting because it hits me that I’ll never see her again..." ~Walsh

To mourn a life lost, to miss someone and not being able to do anything about it

It would have been a five star for me if I didn't fall for Cam the first book. Every heartbreak I've felt in this book about Cam, he just deserve so much better.

Book 3!! Be good to me!..

Cam's lines were perfect too

“Do you know how it feels to know your best friend loves your wife? Has a connection with her you can’t even touch?”

“When your wife doesn’t love you, faithful is overrated.”

“Why would my wife pretend she was asleep every time I came to the hospital?”

"I’m getting out ’cause I didn’t sign up for a ménage à trois. If you wanna blame anyone for this, blame yourself. I do.”

I can't believe how much I love this book, in contrast with the first one.

YOU NEED TO READ WHEN YOU ARE MINE BEFORE READING THIS BOOK! LOVING YOU AWLAYS picks up from where WYAM leaves off.

Starting Monday, October 13, I'm hosting a week-long book party with a $100 VISA Gift Card up as grand prize, daily giveaways, guest authors - a general load of fun. Oh! And we'll discuss the book! You can join us here now: https://www.facebook.com/groups/14653...

As for the story...My own MOTHER called me with suggestions about how to "fix" the things I did to my characters in book 1, WHEN YOU ARE MINE. LOL. So, yeah, I know it was a lot of angst. And I recognize that we left things really...uncertain. Dangling, even. I had so many people say they hated that I made them want a scenario that went against their personal morals, but they can't wait to see where we go with this. It had my moral compass spinning, too! I think for these characters, there is no true north. We make decisions - like the one Kerris made that so many people wanted to strangle her for - that we can't just hit the undo button on.

Book 1 introduced these characters when they were not far removed from college. Not even 30. We make a lot of mistakes along the way. The 3 books together span about six years or so. There can be a lot of growth in that much time. I hope in book 2, you stand witness to Kerris growing, learning from her mistakes, and as much as she can, making things right. Whatever that is for the three of them.

It's hard to even share teasers for this book because we dive right in from where we left off and when I tease, you'll know pretty quickly what will happen! I don't want to spoil it for you, but I'll post some teasers soon.

For anyone who was waiting until book 2 came out to read book 1, you will experience the story as I wrote it originally. Books 1 and 2 were one 600-page novel that had to be broken down because of length. There was no cliffhanger and we tracked seamlessly through this journey. I can't wait for you to board this train! There is a book 3, but you don't have wait for book 3. Though it is the same world and many of the same characters, book 3 will stand on its own. DON'T READ THE SYNOPSIS FOR BOOK 3. IT IS A TOTAL SPOILER! LOL

I promise you that there are no easy routes in this story, but there are hard roads we can take to get where we need to be. Those are sometimes roads less traveled, but I think ultimately, that's the road these characters choose.

"What's wrong with me that everyone can walk away so easily?"

What a wonderful second half to this love story. I appreciate how the author wrote a story that she wanted to tell, rather than writing what she thought readers wanted. It was more genuine for it. Walsh and Kerris' romance is hard to read at times. They both are - in this installment especially - fully aware of their own faults and fallibility. I think that's one of the reasons it was so easy for me to appreciate them.

"You shouldn't cry over spilled milk, but there were so many innocent bystanders who had been splashed by her sloppy attempts to feel whole, to feel wanted and secure and like someone worth sticking around for. (...) Casualties of her insecurity and, dare she admit it, selfishness."

It's sad that the one thing that they each feel so strongly and passionately about is also the one thing that they need to stay away from. Decisions made in haste in book one are turning out to be harder to live with than either of them thought.

I'm not condoning cheating...either the physical kind or the emotional kind. However, I do believe that if you can't give yourself completely and wholeheartedly to your lover...that you're doing both of you a disservice. Is being with one man out of loyalty but loving another okay? Is that really loyal, or is it more harmful than good? Kerris goes through some intense situations in this book. More so than she did in book one. Walsh feels so powerless, watching the love of his life from afar, losing so much more than happiness. He seems to have lost his peace of mind and his sense of self as well. Sure, he goes through the emotions, but it's rough.

"How he missed those absolutes. Those black and white certainties that didn't account for tornadic emotion sweeping through and ripping at your convictions until they were negotiable with the promise of the thing you wanted more than life itself."

As the story wears on, though, I felt more and more as if there was so much more character development than I ever expected. There is a depth to Kerris and Walsh that wasn't apparent reading just book one. Both are inherently good people. They've made mistakes, and they blame themselves for a lot more than they really need to.

We get to see these two grow as people, and we hurt for them and we root for them, and a few times I wanted to reach inside my reader and just give them a little nudge in the right direction. I should have know better, though, because Kennedy Ryan knew what she was doing. When all was said and done, she had an evocative, wonderful, life like romance that grabbed me from the get-go.

Loving You Always is how I feel about Walsh and Kerris ... I will always love you ❤

I started this book immediately after finishing book 1 and after thinking What more could possibly happen? Ha! My question was answered...So much more happend to keep me on edge but full of hope. I fell in love even more. MORE

So this was love. This fear; this need. This insatiable thirst that racked her soul when she thought of him.

I loved their story with all the pain and beautiful moments. We had some broken characters that needed to heal and they did! LOVED THIS. and I think Walsh is perfect!

“My heart didn’t give me a choice. I saw you and was gone almost from the beginning.” He was so close he could smell nothing but her, could see nothing but her, felt the warm curve of her waist beneath his hands. “You are the best decision my heart ever made.”

It had been a hard road, a messy road, littered with the potholes of their mistakes

True love tests the limits of our moral boundaries. What would you do for true love? How much self-worth do you possess to attain what you truly want? How do your past scars define your future? True love and hurt maintain an equal balance with me. To find this kind of love exemplifies what most of us search for in our lives. We think it’s all hearts and unicorns but it’s not. True love tests you, drives you to the brink, and changes you forever. The root of true love is honesty, first with yourself, next with the person you love, and finally with the people who matter most in your life.

Kennedy Ryan has made a believer out of me in Loving You Always – book two of The Bennett’s series. After When You Are Mine my skepticism for the heroine and her connection to her true love swayed me from understanding her true motives. Through the very real, exquisite writing of Ryan with catching dialogue and engaging characters, I believe in the connection of true love between Walsh and Kerris. And Cam. And Jo. And Meredith. Love and compassion lives within the pages of this series.

Book one being a very angsty love triangle thwarted my beliefs in these characters. Book two, picking up right where book one left off, shows the perpetual forward motion our lives carry us into the future. No matter happens we keep moving. The writing proves this in the lives of Kerris, Walsh, and Cam. This story hurts because it surrounds two people in love with the same woman. And a woman in love with only one man but deeply loving the other for the man he is and the woman he helped her to be. It’s about suffering, pain, and heartbreak. It’s about joy in honesty and realizing you’re as good as you believe yourself to be. Your heart aches and melts at the same time for these three people desperate to love and to feel loved, desperate for the honesty love requires. This story hurts because someone gets hurt deeply. These characters hurt themselves and each other to heal. There are few moments of weakness when Kerris and I would have had words with each other. She’s not the most favorite heroine I’ve ever read but her growth and maturity and self-awareness in this book was strides better than the first.

The story hurts in both good ways and bad. Loving You Always is about true love, honesty, friendship, forgiveness, and acceptance. It’s about letting go and holding on. About moving on in a way that feels the most for yourself. Being who you are and loving who you love. If you're looking for a range of emotions in a New Adult setting with low steam but beauty in the well written love story - check out this author. A beautiful romance has come from this angsty love triangle and I’m extremely grateful to have taken this journey. Very much looking forward to book three. I need Jo Walsh’s story.

3.5 rounded up.
This is a classic early new adult romance with a wealthy hero, a made man hero, and a down on her luck orphan heroine. Yes, there's a love triangle and plenty of angst.

I enjoyed this first duet of Kennedy Ryan's, her talent shines through the rockier parts. If you're a KR fan I think it's worth the read if only to see how much her work has grown.

The conclusion to Kerris and Walsh's story will hurt your heart, but also fill it with joy. The story essentially picks up where book 1 left off and I was glad to see that the communication between characters was much better this time around. They each faced their feelings and fears, and were honest with each other. I felt like Kerris finally found her voice in this book and the scene with Sofie was great. I wouldn't have minded if she had gotten a slap in though. ;) I was sad to see Cam's downward spiral and he was pretty unlikable for most of the book. I appreciated that once the dust settled though, he acknowledged his part in all of this and also apologized for his actions the night that he saw Walsh and Kerris kiss. Walsh. *swoon* I loved that Walsh gave Kerris time and space, but also that he went after what he wanted. The events in the book were definitely tragic (and I hate to say it - convenient), but it worked for the story and characters. There's a lot of healing to be done in this book, and though I felt some things tied up a little too neatly, I was satisfied with how the story ended. I needed this HEA after all the heartache and pain in book 1 and Kennedy Ryan delivered. I'm happy that it seems like Jo will finally get her HEA too.

Yikes… I wish I had more positive thoughts. But these two annoyed me soooooo bad in this book! Sure the cheating trope is toxic by nature but these two were absolutely VILLIANS. I don’t know how they managed to turn themselves into manipulative white saviors, but somehow they did.

I don’t know what to say except Kennedy Ryan never ceases to amaze me.

I went THROUGH it with these characters. Chile😩 i really couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel… but oh my. It came, and it was beautiful. I’m so excited to continue on the rest of the series and see how Cam heals, boy does he need it. It’s no secret that Kennedy crafts heartbreakingly beautiful novels and this one was no exception.

Yes, I would absolutely recommend this severely angsty and emotional novel!

P.S. There really is no spice in either of these books. It’s very much still worth the read 😉

This was a well written book that i absolutely loathed. I don't necessarily subscribe to the belief that heroes/characters have to be likeable. But the 2 leads in this are rather uncaring selfish people who give lipservice to guilt.

I cannot like a hero who would F over his so called life long best friend for LOVE and just not... care at all.

I don't care how charming you are... how you treat others beyond the love interest matters.

The heroine is a destructive force of nature, which the author gives a tragic occurrence to give ample sympathy but at the end of the day--- she decided to be dishonest and she

I really enjoyed the first book in the series, and wasn't prepared for the course of events that took place in this second installment. Most of the story was quite painful, as Kerris and Walsh -- two people deeply in love, but kept apart through their own choices and actions -- are forced to confront yet another series of tragedies.

Some time after Kerris marries Walsh's best friend, Cam, Walsh gets an unexpected phone call, and rushes to be near Kerris. Still brokenhearted by the loss of Kerris to his best friend, and now outraged by the news, Walsh doesn't know all that has transpired between Kerris and Cam. And frankly, Cam's apology to Kerris for his earlier behavior seemed rushed and convenient. But things take an abrupt turn for the better, and suddenly, everyone seems to have it all figured out. I can't give away any more details without including spoilers, but the issues these characters were facing seemed much more deep-seated than the story made them out to be.

There were lovely, tender moments, but they were overshadowed by agonizing memories surrounding the pain each character had brought upon the lives of their closest friends and family members. Walsh's wealth was also in the forefront, once again, with many discussions about his clothing, his desire to spoil Kerris, and his connections. If you've read book one, than you know it has already been well established that Walsh comes from a very wealthy family. So a lot of the discussion to reinforce his wealth seemed gratuitous. Further, I couldn't help noticing a contradiction in these characters who were purported to have such depth, and yet took a lot of interest in the physical characteristics of those around them. Kerris, in seeing Walsh's cousin Jo, makes the following observation:

"'Jo, you look amazing.' And she did ... Her model's body seemed even fitter than the last time Kerris saw her ... Kerris didn't know which designer had made the chocolate colored leather dress Jo was wearing, but it seemed to have been sewn along the curves of her body like a layer of expensive skin."

The story's loose ends are tied up nicely, but I was still left feeling a bit jarred from all the upheaval in these characters' lives. I believe in love, and that it can conquer most. But for me, the story took us down a dark road, riddled with obstacles that -- despite the unrelenting attraction Kerris and Walsh felt for one another -- could not have been resolved so easily. Nevertheless, the story is well written, well paced, and would appeal to readers who enjoy the ups and downs surrounding hardship, tragedy, and a love that can prevail against all odds.

I won an ARC copy of Loving You Always from Miss Kennedy Ryan.

She's a new author for me and I found out that she IS a new author. Truth be told, I didn't expect much on the story but when I started reading it, I forgot what STOP meant. I read it while eating, walking, folding my laundry, before sleeping, and probably even in my dreams (can't do it while bathing. water made it impossible for my phone to survive). My, I didn't even know I possessed this amazing multi-tasking skill before reading this book. The story was new, fresh, reality-based, and unpredictable. With those qualities, the book had me flipping pages at odd hours of the day.

There is one major thing that made me love this story: the characters are imperfect. Very human. Very "relatable". It's far from the typical fairytale. And that made the story different. Truth be told, I'm kind of worn-off with too-perfect heroes. You know, the prince-charming kind. Walsh is still a prince charming but he's not a stereotyped perfect prince. That made him special for me. It kinda sends off the notion that there's a prince charming in every man.

Kerris is a gem. Most readers would probably hate her for making a choice that led to bad consequences. But just like what Dr. Stein said in the novel, "Healthy people can own their mistakes and over time, move on." It was not an easy process for Ker but she owned it big time. I find her to be an inspiration given that a lot of women battle with insecurity everyday. Some of us trapped in other people's words and try to live up to them just to be called "beautiful" or "awesome".

I love the whole psychology of the two books. I love its psychodynamics. I love reading about how each character deals with his/her own issues. And I love how Miss Kennedy had them handle those issues. This is not just a love story, it's a book of lessons and reality. It's an experience.

I loved the characterization so much. Most readers hate Cam, I'm sure. But he's the one that got my interest. His background, his personality, what he's going through, his resistance to face his pain, and his possessiveness. Most would say he's not "hero-material". I say he'll be one of the best heroes I will read about. I can't wait for his book! I think he'll be better than Walsh.

For the meantime, goodreads, will you please add up more stars? 5 is not enough.

This is the second book in The Bennett’s Trilogy and it picks up a month after the heartbreaking end of the first book. That book left me wrecked and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. It continues with Cam & Kerris building a life together and Walsh in New York giving them the space they need. But tradgedy would strike again and Cam and Kerris's fragile union was put to the test. Then when Walsh comes home to offer his support, Kerris is reminded again of what she ran from giving way to even more tension in her marriage. This book is less about angst and more about hitting rock bottom and coming to the point where there is nothing left of you but to work towards healing and building strength. Life is messy and we all make poor choices but the best lessons learned come from those mistakes. Kerris and Walsh recognized their mistakes and I loved their growth from there. I respected Kerris's honor in a tough situation and Walsh was so patient with her choices. I would have really liked a bit more of Walsh and what he was feeling but it was satisfying none the less. Cam is still hurting and there are so many interesting flaws that we saw glimpses of. I can't wait to see what is revealed in the last book. It is hard to review this book without giving too much away. This is a book that must be experienced from beginning to end. Kennedy did a fabulous job making us feel all the love, tension, hurting, and healing. I must say chapter 25 and the epilogue were the best and well worth the bumpy ride!

A heart breaking love triangle,a heart breaking loss, a bitter sweet reunion and a HEA that will leave you teary eyed.

“ I’m sorry it took me so long”

“ I know it’s been a long time, but-“ “ worth the wait.” He had to cut her off, dragging his thumb over the one high cheekbone. “ Don’t ever doubt you were worth the wait, Kerris.”

“ Why, Walsh?” She whispered, her voice wavering and her eyes rimmed with tears.”Why me?” “ My heart didn’t give me a choice. I saw you and was gone almost from the beginning.”

Going into this book I knew I was missing something when I started reading this. But I continued on thinking that it was just a continuation of a love triangle where the jilted one went on with his life and met another after being dumped by the leading lady. Boy was I way off, just after the first pages I was hooked and that is because I had no Idea what had happened in the first book. That is saying something about the author’s writing and really caring for these 3 main characters.

Walsh Bennett is a wealthy man and just saw the love of his life Kerris marry his best friend Cam. Relationships will never be the same after a secret kiss has been seen. And this is where we start book 2. . But I do recommend you read the first book, When You Are Mine. Because this is a part two of that book. I went in not knowing what had happened, but enough was covered to inform me of certain happenings in book 1 to where I wasn’t left wondering. Great read and I do highly recommend it.

Who in their right mind could not fall in love with Walsh?!? This book just reaffirmed that he is now in my top 10 book boyfriends.
This is the emotional, heart wrenching, heartfelt conclusion to Walsh and Kerris' love story. It was perfect.
If you haven't read When You Are Mine you need to stop everything and read that first! As soon as I finished that book I zipped over to Amazon to grab this one so I could finish their story, I was so anxious to see how everything was resolved.
If I thought my heart was put through the ringer with When You Are Mine, it was nothing compared to this book.
When you have someone that loves so so much that he's willing to step away from you, even when he knows you love him just as much, I can't even imagine. Walsh was willing to do anything and everything to make sure Kerris was okay and happy, even if it meant losing her.
I loved everything about this book-, how things with/for Walsh weren't made easy, how the relationship between Walsh and his father progressed. I don't think there's one thing about this book I would change.
And that epilogue! How hopeful it is. I'm looking forward to Cam's book. As much as I didn't like him/was frustrated with him in this book I couldn't blame him completely, he wormed his way back into my heart a little.

Well I'm more of a rater than a reviewer of a book. I really don't now how to put into words how I feel about a certain novel. However, I feel like writing a short review about this book since I'm in the mood. After reading the first book which is When You are Mine" I got hooked in an instant. I just want to read Loving you Always as fast as I can. And When I did, I couldn't take my eyes off the pages. It's like a magnet that keeps on pulling you and don't want to let go. I love how the author put this novel together. The way the characters cope up with their fears, problems, death, insecurities and the like. This book will teach you a lot of things and I assure you wouldn't regret reading this :) I can't hide my excitement about the third book though It was Cam's and Jo's story I'm so looking forward to it.

Summary:
Book 2 of 4 in The Bennett Series that continues Cam, Kerris, Walsh and Jo’s story. I can’t share a ton here without giving away a lot of the book. Instead, I’ll share a few things I loved…

What I Loved:
- Kennedy Ryan knows how to write a book husband! The men she writes are just Chef’s Kiss
- Kerris and Cam go through A LOT in this book (relationship and trust issues, grief, trauma) and she wrote it in such a caring, empathetic and realistic way. There were moments where I could FEEL their pain coming off the pages.
- It really touched me to read about Walsh reconnecting with his father and the grace he learned to give himself as well as the lessons he learned about himself as a man thru that relationship
- As a Certified Lover Girl the ROMANCE was just so good! I love reading about a woman being loved properly and OUT LOUD!

A Few of My Favorite Quotes:
- “And did you honestly think there was anyone who could keep me from coming? I’m not concerned about what you or Cam or anyone else things right now I’m coming. Try to stop me.”
- “I know you hear me. Come back to me….I won’t ever pressure you again. Just come back. I can’t breathe without you here. I need you. I love you.”
- “…You are the most beautiful girl in this room. You are one of the most giving and sweet people I’ve ever met. I’ve known most of these girls most of my life, and I’d pick you over every one of them….”
- “I’m done looking for peace. It knows where to find me.”
- “He pressed her knees back, capturing a sweet invasion, a push into her soul. Her body clung to him, begrudging him every withdrawal. Welcoming every thrust.”

Next up in the series: Be Mine Forever

Kennedy Ryan has done it again. Her writing is magnificent. Her characters flawed and perfect in how she presents them. This novel was friends to lovers, lovers to enemies, soulmates, divorce and family drama tropes. It kept me engaged for the last 24 hours as I read the majority of the book today. I couldn't stop reading once it got going.
Kerris is married to Cam. Walsh is mourning the death of his mother, the matriarch of the family and community. Cam is trying to make his marriage work despite the fact that he knows his wife is in love with his ex chest friend, Walsh. The three are struggling and who knows what will break them or piece them together again.
This book is highly recommended for romance lovers especially if you love emotional romance novels.

4.5/5 ⭐️
— I enjoyed this book even more. Although the matrimony was doomed from the start, I’m sad it ended the way it ended.

— You can not fight the inevitable even if you tried. I’m glad things finally worked out the way they were meant to. The heart wants what it wants. And Kerris and Walsh were that for one another. That man loved that woman enough to let her go, but never again!

— Now I’m hoping Cameron and Jo gets it together in book 3 🤭
