Awesome illustrated science fiction for the lower middle grade set -- a step above a chapter book, but still funny, engaging, with lots of illustrations. My two kiddos (ages 8, 10) loved these!

Series book. 3rd grade and up. Zack Gaither has learned that he's an alien, left on earth as a baby to grow up and become a sort of envoy between the Galactic Union and the earth. In the meantime, he's a kid, adopted by loving parents, living a normal kid's life. Until...the bad guys decide Earth shouldn't belong to the Galactic Union. Instead, they (the baddies) want to take it over for their own nefarious purposes. Zack and his friends, one from Earth and the others not, have to save the day.

Lots of action but nothing too graphic. It's a fun book.

Xavier read this to me over the past couple of days. Guided reading level R. Lexile 730. 176 pages. I asked him to write about it and this is what he said, "Aliens talk about earths history. Other aliens didn't like it. One alien and one human got mad and made a speech about earth. There was a little fight too. But earth was invited to join the galaxy union.
