In The Grief Experience you’ll receive the gift of understanding the important and life-changing healing work that happens when you let go of old, conditioned patterns of belief around the grief process and gain new, healthier, more aligned and effective knowledge and tools. The 25 experts who came together for this collaboration share intimate stories and powerful strategies that will help you if you’re struggling with deep loss. Where there is deep grief, there was great love, and this book is the ultimate guide back to that love.
This book reads like a “Chicken Soup” book with the added value of tangible tools to help navigate any of the many forms of grief. It feels like sitting with a dear friend sharing stories of life and love, grief and hope. A great resource that I will return to over and over.
And that is why this book needs to be on everyone’s bookshelf. I had never considered all of the different ways one can experience grief until I read this book. From the passing of a loved one, be it human or pet, to the loss of a home and culture, to the loss of a relationship. Each author not only shares their own personal journey, but also words of wisdom such as “Death can be an accelerator, a motivator and how it can wake us up and lead us to reevaluate everything about our lives” Karen Ann White, Chapter 12. There are also lots of fabulous tools shared by each author. The one that resonated most with me was offered by April Hannah, Chapter 16 The Healing Power of Art. April suggests setting a creative space with the intention of healing. With a candle, a picture of your loved one, a crystal or anything that brings you comfort. She also offers a free grief meditation This book is a labor of love. Each and every author shared their Grief Experiences as a gift to all, to help us on our own personal Grief Journeys. I am grateful 🙏 for this book as I move through my own Grief Experience after my Tran Son let this Earthly Plane in the Summer of 2022
This is not a page-turner book. As the authors describe, it is a toolkit for those looking to explore and work through grief experiences. I did not read most of the book. At this point in my life, most of the excerpts do not resonate with me. The ones I did read offered me new perspectives. As life goes on, I believe I'll return and find community and tools in these pages.
Overall, I think it's a beautiful and raw culmination of grief experiences and advice.
