This title concludes the epic tale "The Winning of Aleta". This is followed by a sequence called "Matrimony", which ends with a newly wed queen adjusting to the luxurious, exciting court life at Camelot. But Val's marriage does not signal an end to his adventures, quite the contrary. In "War in the Forest", Val is sent out to spy on encroaching Saxons - unknowingly aided by Aleta, who, disguised as a small knight (and dubbed "Sir Puny") helps prevent disaster.
Having read up to Vol 10 in the paperback reproductions of these comics I got tuck not knowing the end of the story. To continue would be expensive, but I found some audiobooks at the library. Borrowed this one in the hope that it covered the part I was missing. Unfortunately it's a narration of most of books 9 and 10 and doesn't even go right to the end of book 10. Nice to get an alternative treatment of something I just read and it's not often that an audiobook is made from a graphic novel, which in turn was created by collection a years worth of Sunday paper strips. The library has the next audiobook so I will continue with that.
A little weird in places, with Val's madness and kidnapping and romance of Aleta. Didn't like the torture of Val and dancing of Aleta, but those weren't big problems.
so weird I hate how he still went through with falling for a literal seductress. Sure she may not have been a witch but she seduced valiant to be with him. Huge red flag, I'll try other Prince valiant books hopefully theyre nothing like this. I had to stop reading Conan because of this as well.
