The ever-curious Franklin learns that snooping can have unpredictable consequences.Franklin's best friend, Bear, is about to have a birthday and Franklin is bursting to tell everyone a He snooped and found out the present Bear is getting from his mother. Soon Franklin is telling Bear's friends that Bear will be getting a Power Pal action figure for his birthday. They all decide to get Bear Power Pal accessories. What a surprise when Bear's present turns out to be a baseball glove! Franklin was wrong--he's the one who is getting a Power Pal for his own birthday, which is coming up soon. In the end, Franklin decides to give his Power Pal to Bear.

About the author

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Bourgeois graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational therapy from the University of Western Ontario in 1974. She was a psychiatric occupational therapist for three years before deciding to focus on her writing. She studied journalism at Carlton University then worked as a reporter for the Ottawa Citizen and CBC Television. She became a freelance journalist in Washington, D.C. contributing pieces to Chatelaine, Canadian Living, Reader's Digest and Maclean's. She returned to Toronto in 1983.

In 2003, she became a Member of the Order of Canada and in 2007, she received an Honourary Doctor of Laws from her alma mater, the University of Western Ontario.

A book in the Franklin the Turtle series. Fun and cute.

Franklin and Bear both learn why its so important not to snoop around the house for gifts. Because it could turn around on you. This was a good learning story for them and for a child reader.

This story is about Franklin, the lovable turtle, who snoops to find out what his mother bought for his friend, Bear, for his birthday, and tells all his friends, but not Bear, but it causes trouble when Franklin later finds out that it was his own birthday present he snooped.
