3.5 Completion star

Through her fear and through Amber's machinations, Grace succeeds in the fourth test, pleasing David and saddening Andrew, to Amber's anger.

What I don't understand is that Grace has gone through all this and she still get's scared because someone's put a hood over her head. That makes no sense to me. Unless the author gives her some phobia or she was locked in a closet in the dark as a kid, I just don't understand it. At this point, she's told David how much she trusts him in all of this, to freak out over a hood after everything that's been done to her and what she's been expected to do, just baffles me.

I also don't like how much of a doormat she's become. This is a strong and smart woman, driven to success who is letting this man and these people manipulate her. Don't get me wrong, if choices are made and made with full information given, I have no issue with the what she's done. I just feel like this character was basically told, do what I want you to do or I can't date you. And those types of threats bug the crap out of me. All that being said, the author did do a good job in this installment of having Grace, at least have a similar thought flash through her mind, fleeting though it was.

Now that this has dragged out a little too long, I'm off to read the last installment.

If I had to say which of the seven so far that I've read that was in my opinion the best, Submit (#7) would be it. Partly driven by my own curiosity as to what was going to take place and partly due to some minor changes in the characters.

For the first time David showed some shift, even if it was just a few words whispered at the end. But still too much has taken place for me to feel anything for him or Grace. Although there seems to be no hope that Grace will just walk away, I still hope she does. It will give me an ounce of respect for her.

My typical issues weren't really existing in this installment since there was little dialogue, just really commands and observational comments - so I was actually able to focus more on what was happening. I am still a little confused over what is desirable about this club. So far the trials have been so she can return, they never clarify that if she passes the trials if she is then able to come and go as she pleases as a regular guest. I know what the last table holds - but the overall point of the club has never been explained. Maybe with the last installment David will expose this.

Overall this one was much better, but still overall this series is just lacking something for me.

I was asked to review this for Netgalley.

How far would you go for the man you love?

Book 7 sees Grace start a new part of the tasks, one she will question how she feels about David and is all these tasks worth his love. I am not sure I am in complete contrast to what is happening with the poor woman. David has had her tied up, bound, gagged and used to his own satisfaction. Then you have the lovely and ever manipulative Amber, who sure wants Grace to fail. In their attempts to get her to fail, Grace certainly lives up to the unexpected.

Now what lies in wait for the final task and will Grace take it and have David for herself or will Amber finally win David? All will be revealed in the concluding part of The Dining Club.

still not completely sold on this story. David finally admitted he loved Grace, even though he couldn't say it in a broader sense than right now. Grace pulled out all the stops and found her true calling - running The Dining Club.

my biggest problem with this series, other than it being too short, is the end... you can't tell us Amber & Lucien are up to no good then just go "THE END". I need to know more now, or I simply would have been happy with the plans David & Grace were making, with no further mention of Amber.

an ok little read, but nothing to race out for...

The final trial before Grace will become a member of The Dining Club. The last trial before she earns the secret about what happens at table 5. With Andrews warning ringing in her ears Grace is a little leery of Davids request that she come home with him the Friday before her test, but eventually she concedes. Even though he promised to just snuggle, David brings her to exhaustion with sexual fulfillment. Leaving Grace once more wondering if David is trying to ensure she fails so that he can walk away from her. The following day she tells David that she is still nervous, but that she wants to complete the taskfor herself as well as him. David admits to himself that he was jealous of Andrew meeting up with Grace at the theater and then taking her home even if Grace told him all about it. He had tired her out on purpose the night before because he wanted to exert his claim on Grace.

This fourth trial will test both Grace's strengths and her weaknesses. If she wins even Amber can keep her out of the Dining Club and Away from David. Then it is Grace's turn to go after Amber and make her life a trial. Can she believe in David? Is her love enough to carry her through and help her complete the upcoming trial? Will David continue to try and sabotage Grace's chances? You will be holding your breath through this one. It is very intense. You will either be wishing you were in Grace's place and thanking God you will never have to prove your love in such a way. No matter what your thought the scenes are extremely hot. I regret to say the The Dining Club Book 8 - Surrender is next, but also is the final installment of this tantalizing series.

If you like Erotic books this is definitely a series for you to read. The story line starts with Desire, The Dining Club, Book 1 and is told little by little with each of the following Novellas. These are not stand alone books, but lucky for you these are all very low priced. Enjoy Submit and have Surrender on hand to find out how the story of David and Grace's journey ends. Do they stay together or do they part ways forever?

SUBMIT (Part 7)

The plot thickens and so does the sexual and emotional tension. Can she really do it? Can Grace really pull off passing all of the trials at the Dining Club? More importantly...will she be allowed to pass them? In this latest entry into the series we clearly see that Grace's success is not in every one's best interest. What's worse is that we are left unsure of David's feelings on the matter.

What would you do if you risked everything to prove your love for someone and they are ambivalent to it? how many hoops..."trials" must you pass before you are worthy? The deeply erotic tale of Grace's sexual awakening has taken a deeply emotional tale. SUBMIT is the deepest and darkest of the series. It looks at the darker side of David's sexual appetite. I felt the terror and uncertainty in Grace's trial, but more importantly I felt her questions.

Grace is questioning herself and her choice. David is no help at all and I have to be honest, I am not at all happy with him! His childish feelings, his inability to have an adult relationship without his ridiculous terms is so frustrating! I have felt and enjoyed the hot, sensual encounters that have occurred within this story. I have drooled over the idea of a tall, dark, rich and handsome man wanting to teach me all sorts of new things, but this...this is just insane.

In between being all hot and bothered with the scenes painted in this story, I have been very uneasy with the status or lack there of David and Grace's relationship. Grace is blooming with every encounter and is willing to do what is necessary to cement her place in his life, while he just...well he just doesn't seem to be as certain. He has his reasons, but they are not in my opinion worthwhile.

Her final trial is here and with little support or compassion from David, Grace faces it as usual head-on. It's her quiet strength and courage that really are the back bone of this tale. The final trial is quite a doozy and quite apparent why most don't pass it. What happens next is the best part. What does the future hold for them if she passes? What if she fails? You'll have to read it and see!

Series: The Dining Club #7

Overview

Grace has one more erotic challenge to complete. Once she proves to the Club, and to herself, that she's truly embraced her new sensuous desires, Grace will ensure her place in the Dining Club-and in David's heart. But after learning David's deepest secret, Grace isn't sure what to believe about their relationship anymore. Does he even want her to succeed? She knows this final challenge won't be easy, especially with Club members Amber and Andrew still as determined as ever to see her fail.

Now with this final trial, David will push her stamina to its limits-and Grace must submit her body and soul to his every demand. If Grace doesn't complete the challenge, the Club-and David-will be off-limits to her forever.

My Thoughts

Grace is nearing the end of her challenges and while each week gets harder for her since it's so far out of her comfort zone, she slowly begins to see that David's love is growing to a point where he might actually say it. The question that lies ahead is whether Grace can be what David needs, if that's what she wants to do, and what will happen.

The obstacle though that still lies in the Dining club too is Amber (and Andrew i suppose). Amber is afraid of losing David because she's probably in love with him even though he's probably not with her. Andrew also has these growing feelings towards Grace that means that he's going to try to make her fail so that David will walk away and he can be with her.

The challenge for Table 4 leaves us in a place that's just as curious as the prior tables. we see that Grace has to do things that she never thought she'd do, and all the same time, David brings her to the brink of her own passion.

I'm looking forward to the conclusion in the next book.

Even though what happens in this novella is not my cup of tea, I'm glad that Grace seems to come to terms with exactly why she's trying to be successful at The Dining Club--it's all to make David happy.
She wondered how she'd ever let it come to this. How she, Grace, a well-respected theater director who'd been in the Sunday Times list of most promising new directors the year before, had allowed herself to be in this position. Tears of humiliation and disbelief filled her eyes.

"What's the matter?" asked David quietly. "If you want this to stop now, all you have to do is say so. That one word will end it all. Say 'stop' and it's over, Grace. You must choose to do this yourself."

"For us," she replied, struggling to regain her composure. "This is for us."

"But the choice is yours. Now do you want to stop?"

Grace shook her head.

"You have to say it."

Her tongue moved over her dry lips. She hadn't come this far to be defeated now. "I don't want to stop," she said clearly.

I was pretty shocked by Grace's words at the end, and I can't really say what else happens here without giving everything away. I'm pretty sure this was my favorite of all of the novellas, even though I didn't like anything that happened in it. One more to go.

The Dining Club is more than the name implies. It is a place to discover how far you are willing to challenge your sensuality and discover/expand your sexual horizon. This is erotica at its best.

Our story follows Grace as she discovers David, the man she has fallen in love with, cannot commit to his love for her, unless she is able to discover and participate in the kind of lovemaking that makes him complete. The Dining Club provides a series of tests which will expose Grace to BDSM. If she is able to complete the 4 trials involved, David will be able to finally fully commit to her.

The trials, although not extreme, left me wondering how far could someone go to prove love and commitment. Through this serial novel, we come to know our characters in some depth. This serial novel evolves through 8 different insttallments. We ourselves are placed in the trials with Grace, making us wonder how we ourselves would survive each test.

This story is brilliantly written, with full character development and a great plot line. The ending is good but leaves me wondering if the author is considering a spinoff novel or novels. There are characters in this novel I would love to read more about!

Be careful when ordering a club sandwich

As with the other chapters in this series, the title gives you a clue as to the theme of the challenge. Grace now faces the fourth & final test since first attending the Dining Club 4 months ago....total submission.
She's in love with David & desperately wants something more permanent. He does love her but also knows himself. Sooner or later, he'd tire of her as their life grew to be routine, too vanilla. Then he'd start searching, craving a new conquest to satisfy the darker side he's never exposed to Grace.
All the regulars are back, including Amber who'd like nothing better than to see Grace fail so David would need her again. Andrew continues to have a hidden agenda. He wants Grace & the only side he's on is his own. Then there's the mysterious man Grace has never seen before. Could this be the actual owner of the club?
Grace has to juggle the fear of losing the test & probably David while hanging on to her day job. As with the other parts of this series, the sex is seriously sizzling. This is a must have for faithful fans but even if you're a new reader, you can enjoy this quick erotic novella. Maybe just crank up the A/C first.

Grace is about to start the second half of her two-part challenge and she's a bundle of nerves, especially since the break between the two trials left her feeling out of sorts. That David continues to be indifferent doesn't help her state of mind. However, she needs to see this test through its end, if only to prove it to herself that she gave it her all.

Once the trial starts, it was everything I was hoping it would be - sensual, original and compelling. Grace's response to the test thrown at her showed her resolve to see this through. Her growth in accepting her sensual side coupled with the emotions she had for David, pushed her through and kept her focused at times when her spirit wavered. She was resolute and beautiful in her acceptance of what she was up against.

This installment made me glad that I stuck around to see Grace finish her trial in order to win David's love. Now I can't wait to see how she fares on her challenge against Amber. I am not a fan of that woman, but she does have the upper hand in the experience department. I just hope that Grace keeps her resolve and beats her at her own game.

In part seven, Grace is entering her fourth and final trial in order to be accepted and loved by the man she adores and loves…David. But is it the end…will Grace finally be rid of Amber?

This challenge gives new meaning to control and having control of ones body as Grace quickly learns. She is tested to the deepest depths and has to contend with Amber and Andrew trying to make her fail. Andrew because he wants Grace for himself and Amber because she want Grace out of the Dining Club and more importantly out of David’s life.

As before, Grace is apprehensive and fearful of David’s true feelings. David is as aloof as ever as Grace enters the fourth challenge.

I’m still liking this series and the intensity is getting strong. I love Grace’s innocence and trepidation as she tries to comes to terms with her new found sexuality and preferences while trying to will David’s affections to appear. I’m still not liking the pompous ass – David – and his coldness towards Grace. Just like last time though, I could not wait to read that last part so on I went before writing my review.

Grace faces her final trial and for her, everything is on the line. Her hopes to continue her relationship with David is at stake and she's gone all in.

This installment was the best of the seven to date. For the first time I had a sense that David was invested in the relationship with Grace and could put her interests over his. The scenes were well written and paced, events progressing rapidly and Grace's fears and worries screaming off the pages. It was erotic and riveting.

My biggest issue with the submission part of the trial is this should only be done when there is a bond of trust in the relationship. David hasn't created this with Grace and she's going through these on perseverance alone. Any pleasure she supposedly experiences didn't ring true for me. She was terrified.

I'm still not a fan of David and I really want Grace to walk away from all of it and be content with her newly found self discoveries and confidence. However, I'm convinced that's not the direction of the story and that's too bad. David doesn't deserve her.

I really enjoyed this whole series. It was highly erotic and well written. Perhaps the story isn't for everyone and hard to relate to but it is fantasy and a fun read. I really wanted to understand David and warm up to him but I just couldn't. While I understand the reasons he is the way he is I don't think his past was that bad that would make him that cold. I don't believe he knows how to love. I feel bad for Grace for being so blinded by love that she would do things that she felt uncomfortable with just to get David's approval and love. I think she discovered new things about herself and if she changed her whole life around because of it being something she wanted to do then all the power to her however, I think she did it all for David and that didn't appeal to me. I liked that Amber lost out in the end but I think there will be more from her! I thought it was the end of the series but there was a cliffhanger and now I have to wait for the next part UGH!

**** EROTICA BOOK CLUB REVIEW ****

Submit (The Dining Club #7)
by Marina Anderson

Now onto book 7 in the series, the continuing story of Grace and David. Grace has to complete the trials of 5 tables at the dining club. She is currently still on table 4 trial and if she passes it she will get to have a go at table 5 but she doesn't know the secret of table 5 yet.

Grace is a brave woman and is being pushed to her limits but David just confuses me and I really think he is confused himself too.
As the other stories in the series this is packed with hot sex. I am really enjoying the series so far and I think I would like to read them all in one combined book. I must also say that the more I am getting to know the story about The Dining Club the more I am enjoying reading about it.

And we join Grace as she partakes in the two part test number 4. Again not the greatest book I have ever read, Amber and Andrew are still not my favorite, David still irks me, and Grace is something else. No matter what is thrown at her she still doesn't back down, tries it, and succeeds further than I think David ever expects her to.

This test I'm not a hundred percent sure was harder than the first few but we'll let it go. Now Grace is ready to face and hear what The 5th test is. I'm curious to see what it is and if she'll finally get back at Amber for everything that has been going on. What would make this series perfect...is if she would succeed at everything, show David she is exactly what he needs and wants forever....and to walk away stronger than she has ever been. Will that happen? WHO knows but I have part 8 so we will find out soon.

I got this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review..

This short story still continues where it left off

grace is on her final challenge and she knows that she is going to pass because she wants the love for David to grow. David is still struggling between loving grace and keeping what he is used to . After a night out he now knows what he wants out of life.

Amber and Andrew will still plot to ruin her chances of succeeding in the club. Amber has a master plan for the final test and Andrew cant resist but go along with it.

Grace gets mad because David makes her get tied up before her last challenge. she doesn't know if it is love or him trying to sabotage their relationship. Trust will be a big issue in this story.

lastly, Grace has to pass the "club sandwich" test in order to make David her's forever. the only question is can she do it?

Ugh...this series is getting way too rapey for my taste. Grace is a strong woman, and normally I have no problem with BDSM as long as both parties are willing participants and when written correctly, they both show and share love. David is looking for a sex slave and not one to treasure - just one to have and use as he sees fit. I can't believe Grace has stayed with the trials as long as she did - they are demeaning and made to make her a lesser person and she has absolutely no reason to. She is doing this because she loves David, but even David isn't sure if he can be with one woman. So frustrating.

Grace was forewarned about being tired out before the trial. The little surprise "weekend stay" that David seemingly wasn't busting out of the seams to tell Grace. It really does seem like David is trying to sabotage Grace. There is so much she has endured just to be with him. I sure hope David is worth all of it. He better have one hell of a body for her to be enduring things she obviously has no intentions of redoing in the bedroom.

With just one more challenge to complete, Grace is that much closer to having a relationship with David. But David has still not decided if he wants Grace to succeed but we also know that he has some issues of jealousy. His jealousy however, is making Grace's challenge that much harder since he won't let her get any rest the night before. So is he hoping she fails? Would he rather not commit and simply stay with Amber? Once again even though I didn't like David I found myself reading this one and eagerly reaching for the finale.

Things start to heat up here in more ways than one!

Who loves who? Will David realize he loves Grace? is he capable of loving just one woman? Is Grace strong enough to see that beyond the sexual gratification David is someone she should question.

I really want to see her go off with Andrew.

Amy is vicious, some sabataging starts to take place, its uneasy in THE DINING CLUB certain people are finding Grace a source of competition, or is Grace finding THEM a source of competition?

Grace is falling more for David and the club as she tackles Table Four. She has gotten stronger mentally and she displays unsurpassed determination to solidify her relationship with David. This short story is a turning point for the couple. The reader gets to see David's true feelings for Grace as she continues to prove her love. A quick but entertaining read.

This Part of the story was brilliant, it drew away from the relationship and was so focused on the 'tasks' i loved it.
I still dislike David and prefer Andrew, i also wish Amber would just up and leave in the night but i think that's the point.
The story seems to lose a bit of something when lots of people are involved and mentioned in a short read but i'm hoping it regains it'self in the last book.

Grace continues the challenges on table 4 in this book and shows everyone how willing she is to be at the Dining Club. I was proud to see that Grace had a spine and was going to fight for what she wanted but that being said David was not helping her but trying to make things harder for her. I enjoyed this installment a bit more than the others but overall this series was lacking. I hope the final installment at best tries to make this series passable.

We finally get to the last trial Grace has to go through to be a member of the Dining Club. I am glad it's almost over. I guess I can say David was a little nicer to Grace at the end but really it's too late. I wasn't wowed by the final trial. It could have been more interesting in my opinion. But I feel a sense of completion now that Grace is done, for the most part.
