✅ A surprisingly great book. Very short and sharp summary of some fascinating AI themes and dilemmas.

✅ Insight into the various types of AI (ANI, AGI, ASI) alongside where systems are currently at, what is required to sustain, capitalistic agenda that ignores initial climate supporting intentions, current criminal actions using the systems etc

✅ Unpacking the moral and ethical issues involving AI posed some really good questions. Ie: if developing a super intelligence that is able to rationally think for itself and exist independently, is it morally right to cage and enslave that “thing” to serve our needs only. Created a interesting “Frankenstein’s monster’ scenario.

Well done summary of what AI is today, where we stand in terms of technology to support narrow AI, General AI, and Super AI. Nigel Poulton does a good job in popularizing a subject that could be hard to fully grasp; his explanations are simple to understand, thought-provoking, and allow us to focus on what's under the hood of popular APPs that we use eveyday, like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and other AI applications that we are not even aware that we are using.

A good overview of AI and its applications which will be possible now and in the future. It covers the good, the bad, and the ugly of it. I feel like I am in a better position to understand and in layman’s terms discuss what AI is and how it will possibly affect the world. The book was an easy read and a general overview which is all I desired.

The first 2/3 is very informative in a " for Dummies" way. The ethical and sxi fi speculation in the last third beings The rating down to a 3.

Although, it's not a technical book, it lays down key principals of AI and what are the gains and conserns of AI superinteligence.
A nice and easy read to navigate on what's coming on AI field.
