In her latest releases, a cozy mystery series entitled the Anna Romano Mystery Series, she hopes to provide relief from a somewhat somber world and spread laughter and smiles with the main character’s witty humor and ‘unintentional stumbling’ over dead bodies and into murder investigations.
Her goal in life is to keep writing and continue helping victims of Domestic Abuse/Violence, Grief and ANON family groups, and Corporate Health and Wellness groups, to heal through words — encouraging them to ‘write the pain’ via journaling, and expressing themselves through short stories, songs, and poetry.
She currently resides in Orlando, Florida, where she runs her 29-year-old Virtual Training and Development company, specializing in Instructional Design and eLearning.
In her spare time, she loves to read murder mysteries, attend museums, watch movies, try new cuisines, shop with her daughter, and take in the sun on the beach. And, although this author’s works are fiction, she has incorporated many of her personal life experiences into their stories.
This is a very cute book. My two year old loved the rhyming and sing-reading along to the words. The illustrations are playful and fun. This book would be great for emerging readers. I also love how the words are outlined in white so they are easier to find and read on the pages versus just hidden in the illustrations.
My consideration for almost all books is whether or not I could imagine a better version, and if I thought about this a bit I think I could. (Imagine one, that is – not present one. I'm not that big-headed.) For one, the clipped little couplets used make it a little awkward for the verse narrative to come across in ideal fashion. The artwork does just about show the cutesy animal world we're in, with the squirrel and gecko that live together and join in on a small adventure when the latter decides his echo has gone walkabout and Mother Nature isn't playing ball. The lettering was another negative for me, looking like typewritten messages from a hostage-taker sellotaped across the images. There is a point to the peculiar situation, which in this presentation kind of feels stuck on, coming as it does quite suddenly to round things up with a positive message. Like I say, longer, more flowing lines would have smoothed the transition from story to moral, but that said this is still worth a quick look.
3.5 stars. This has a very sweet message about the constancy of friendship and making one's own voice heard. The illustrations are also quite lovely. They're colorful, lively, and have lots of detail to keep kids engaged. It would be a nice story for pre-K and early elementary children.
The book is written in verse, but sometimes word choice and meter are sacrificed to serve the rhyme. This causes some unconventional sentence structures and emphasis patterns that could trip up readers. Additionally, there were a couple of spots toward the end where the rhyming sequence is abruptly absent. Give this one a pre-read if you're going to read it aloud to minimize awkwardness.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.
Thank you NetGalley, Cheryl Denise Bannerman and Bannerman Books for the book The Gecko Without an Echo. This is my personal review. I love the catchy name of the book The Gecko Without an Echo and the illustration on the cover will draw a child to this book. I know children will enjoy having a parent read this to them time and time again. The story of friendship written in a rhyming way is so fun. The story is so important in their lives. Every child should have a copy of this on the bookshelf. I am excited to buy this for all my friends with children. I like giving books as gifts. It makes me happy to share stories like this one with them.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Short Blurb Reptile wondering where’s his echo
— It is beautifully illustrated and the rhyming verses will definitely keep the young ones engaged. And to top that, the story talks about an issue that is not only for the kids but true for adults as well. So for anyone who has kids, I highly recommend this book.

Tim the Gecko feels bad because he can’t hear his echo when he shouts. So, he and his best friend Earl the squirrel starts an adventure to find out what the problem is. It doesn’t matter if we have a problem, as long as we have good friends. That is the most important thing. Friends always stuck to us for good. There is only one thing I didn’t like about this book and that was that the font of the letters was too small for my liking. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the story of Tim the Gecko who is trying hard to find his echo. It is a sweet picture book with rhyming lines. There are approximately 4 lines per double page. The illustrations are beautiful, they look like a water colour painting with collage/ mixed media elements as well. As a teacher, I could see using this book as a discussion about sound/echos, rhyming and as an inspiration for art making. I would recommend this book for families and teachers of children in the age 4-10 range. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book!
This book is so needed in the children's category. This book teaches children about friendships. Also teaches a child how to actually listen to the friend. If you have a true friend, they will hear you and pay attention to you. This is what this book is about, true frienship. This book is excellent and highly recommended for children.

This is a cute rhyming book about the value of friendship. Earl is a Gecko and his friend the squirrel is Tim. One day they go wandering and realize they can’t hear Earl’s echo. They think Mother Nature is mad at them. This follows the journey to find his echo while showing true friendship. I liked the illustrations very simple but cute. very easy to read in rhyme form and good for readers. Recommend it for 4-8 year olds.
What a cute story of everlasting friendship, Tim the Gekco lives in a tree with his best buddy, Earl the squirrel. The two travel from the valley to the top of the hill where Tim yells. HELLO and they await to hear the echo response. But it never happens, Tim is dejected and heartbroken. Whoever heard of a Gecko without an echo. But a friend stays with his friend. Tomorrow they will travel more and discover a cave with a lake, a ceiling and walls. Tim, enthusiastically, gives a yell HELLO! and hears his echo. They are happy and friends more. Such an endearing rhyming story that will be easily read by youngsters. Thanks to #NetGalley, # for the opportunity to read in exchange for an honest review. Yes, I will be recommending for young readers.
The Gecko Without an Echo is a short children's book. It is a cute story about a friendship between Earl the Squirrel and Tim the Gecko. It is teaching the children that whatever you're looking for out there just might be right in front of you. Even though it's a children's book the moral of the story could and should be picked up from the "older" children as well :)
The story and art work were cute and well done. I had a hard time reading it with the print being so small on android which made it difficult to read to my two year old niece that may have been more interested in the story if the print wasn't so small on the e-book.

"The Gecko Without an Echo" by Karen Lynn Williams is a charming and humorous book about a gecko who is frustrated because he can't hear his own voice. With the help of his friends, the gecko goes on a hilarious journey to try and find his missing echo. This book is a great choice for young readers who love animal stories with a fun and silly twist.
This book as a great message for kids! I love the use of rhyming to keep the reader engaged and to introduce words to young readers. There's a message of friendship, truthfulness, and being heard. Would definitely recommend for kids, of all ages. #TheGeckoWithoutAnEcho #NetGalley
I really loved the message in this book. I think this is an important message for kids. To not be discouraged when others don't listen. Those who care for you will always be listening. The rhymes in this book was awesome.
