Giving her Guardian the slip has never been a problem for Beth. Even for a wolf, she is wicked fast and almost impossible to track. Then she meets Gareth, her new Guardian. Gareth is ruggedly handsome, unfailingly stubborn, and seems determined to sniff Beth out, no matter where she runs.

After a disastrous night of passion with Gareth, Beth has no choice but to put herself forward for mating. Although, it's not just Gareth that has his eye on this female. Donovan, a wolf from a neighboring pack , has his own reasons for wanting this she-wolf, and when Beth makes the wrong choice, she finds out exactly what happens when you're "thrown to the wolves".

Secrets are revealed and choices are made. Will love conquer all, or destroy everything Beth has ever known?

Mandy Lou Dowson was born and raised in a small town in Ireland, in 1983. Family is a huge deal to Mandy. She has three wonderful children, and two dogs - a Siberian Husky who only does what she’s told if there’s something in it for her, and a little white Pomeranian who loves nothing better than to roll in mud, or worse.
In her spare time, she likes to relax with a few glasses of wine and some karaoke. She has a keen interest in special effects make-up and is part of a dramatical society which puts on one show and one concert each year.
Mandy started reading at quite a young age and her appetite for the written word has only increased with time. It would not be at all surprising to find her reading anything and everything from shampoo bottles to Edgar Allan Poe.

I consider myself to be a PNR, shifter connoisseur ;) and this book kept me on my toes and anxiously guessing at what would happen next. Following the fateful night of Beth's mating ceremony, she is forced to choose between two males. Gareth, the guardian from her pack, who has been a constant in her life (whether she realized it or not) and the stranger Donovon, who's pack has been in a blood feud with Beth's. Mating Donovon will give Beth's pack a chance at peace but she will have to leave the only home she's ever known. Gareth has never shown anything but brotherly concern for her, so Beth feels as if his mating offer is done out of necessity.
I was completely caught off guard by the love triangle that develops between Gareth, Beth and Donovon. Will Beth do what she thinks is right for her pack, or will she follow her heart? By the time she reaches her decision it may be too late to save any of them. This is an excellent start to a new PNR series and I look forward to seeing what else Mandy Lou Dowson has up her sleeve.

Three stars for me, but probably four for you.

Bound by Fate was at alternate times page-turningly good and frustratingly difficult. Kinda-spoiler-alert, this book has a love triangle. I usually avoid those like the plague, but the blurb I read made this book sound more like a May-December or forbidden mentor-mentee affair. Somehow I missed the obvious signs of impending triangular shenanigans. Ok, ok, an accidental threesome has happened to all of us at one time or another, right? Right. So I soldiered on.

After all, there were some interesting hints at Secret Mystical Wolf Stuff and Mysterious Mating Rituals and Generational Blood Feuds, oh my! Not to mention that the writing was well-controlled, fully descriptive, and paced nicely. So I put up with a spoiled bratty princess, a needlessly dramatic break-up that could have been avoided with even one frank conversation, and some sloppy worldbuilding (I'm still not clear on what it means to be a pure-bred werewolf in this universe versus...not-a-pure-bred-werewolf...?). I put up with that all because I could see a promising ending on the horizon, a land where plot twists are explained, loose ends are tied up in pretty bows, where things like .

Did I get those things? No. I still don't know why or or . That's a lot of things I didn't get. That's a LOT of spoiled potential.

Would I read the next book in the series if someone put it in front of me? No. But the third one in the series? Hells yeah! I think this author is gonna rock in the future. I think this author could rock now with a good genre editor. For me, this book lost one star for confused worldbuilding and two more stars for leaving me hanging, but it gained a star back for quality writing. Lovers of triangles (or squares... Or pentagons... Or dodecahedrons...) may enjoy this even more.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This im pulling a 2.5 down the middle.....

I loved aspects of it, i think the Author captured the pack mentality brilliantly, Even as humans they still think like part wolf its the first time i have read anything like it, was brilliant.

I wasn't so keen on the relationships, Gareth Donovan and Beth.... we can all see who Beth loves..... why she has to go and muddle everything up is beyond me, she seemed to make huge decisions without talking to anyone to discover the extent of her misunderstandings, Lost in translation seem to be a key factor in this book and i just could not get my head around the decision making....

Sill worth a read for the different ways the wolves are written!

I received an ARC of this book from the author Mandy Lou Dowson. In exchange for my honest opinion. This is my honest opinion of her book.
Ms. Mandy writes with such creativity for her characters, the scenes, and the background information. That you as a reader are there with them the characters. Not only can you witness what they are going through but you are able to feel it also.
This story is about a wolf (a would say werewolf) that fights the fact that she has to be mated. Living in a pack, you have to accept certain pack rules and life. However, our girl does the opposite. She tries all the time to ditch her guardian. One such day. after she ditches him, she finds herself in major trouble. She has fallen down into a pit - hurt her leg; the only way out is to seek help. So he calls her guardian- then when he gets to her. She has to shimmer in order to heal.
Now this story takes many a twist and has lots of turns in it. You start out thinking that this book is about one love. But it actually deals with several.
I give this book a 10 plus star rating. And recommend it to all adults an paranormal lovers. I will leave you with these questions. Does our little she cub find her true mate?? Is she accepted into the pack?? What actually happens to her guardian??
For these and more you truly need to read this suspense filled story. It leaves you on the edge of the page . The characters are brought to life right before your eyes, NOW GO GET THIS BOOK!!! IT IS AVAILABLE TODAY !!!

Wow!! I just finished this book and am in love with Mandy Lou Dowson and the story she brought to life. This book is SOOO good! Many created such an involved world of werewolves that it sucked me in and spit me out wanting more!

The whole story is built around Beth, the romance is there but this is more of a journey of Beth growing up and finding out about her past. Beth is feisty and spunky! Reluctantly she offers herself up for the mating ritual and has to choose between two alphas! Because of her choices Beth moves to another pack and discovers long buried secrets that rock her world. Her new pack is broken, and has a lot of healing to due, but the alpha is crazy. Bradley, the alpha of her new pack destroyed the pack due to what happened to him in the past. Beth is sucked into the crazy whirlwind of her new pack and everything becomes Topsy turvy. With no way to escape Beth despairs for her very life!

Over the course of this book Beth grows as a character so much. This is mainly due to her packs way of life and when she moves to her new pack, she finds out truths that even children much younger than her knew. The pack dynamics in this book are amazing, I absolutely fell in love with these wolves an can't wait to visit their world all over again!

There is a bit of a love triangle in this book, to me it didn't detract in anyway from the story line and was beautifully done. And of course Beth gets her HEA and with the person you hope! Or at least I hoped while I was reading!! And trust me you won't know who she ends up with until the very end!!

How does one review one's own work?

I could tell you how fascinating I find my own characters, and how proud I am of the world they live in, and the magic that makes them tick. I could tell you of the trials and tribulations that they each have to go through to attain the ever elusive Happily Ever After. I could weave an intriguing net built out of the deceit, the cowardice and downright nastiness of those who oppose my heroes, and the shock-waves it causes not just for them personally, but for everyone connected with them.

I could tell you how hard they fought me on certain things and how stubborn they became when I tried to reign them in. I could tell you how large and life-like they became as they wrote their own stories, using me as a conduit. I could tell you most anything, couldn't I?

The only thing I can really tell you is, find out for yourself.

I will leave you with quotes from certain members of the cast, in case you were wanting to speak to them, instead of me.

Oh Ms Dowson. What a pleasure I have had, not only given the chance to read BBF as a draft but to also gifted a copy for my birthday.

I loved the draft, as you know. But the finished product took my breath away. Even after first reading the draft, I had my minds eye on what B & G looked like, and that never changed. But the way you described D, changed whole lot. Imagine Jacob from Twilight but a little older. Lol.

Each and every line had be gasping for more and more. The way the storyline flew together worked fantastic. You wasnt left with gaps in the story. It never went stale. It always kept you interested.

For me..you rate right at the very top. I wish you all of the luck in the world with your release date.

Very very very fabulous read, loved it from the very beginning to the very end

This novel was filled with everything you want in a paranormal romance. It had crazy chemistry between Beth and her guardian Gareth. Plenty of hot scenes and tense action. A wolf pack can be a cruel place to live and as Beth finds out sometimes you find yourself out of the frying pan and into the fire. You will be turning the pages as fast as you can to find out if her mates can save her before she gets burned.

Okay, just real quick like I want to say this is a new author and series for me. And I am ever so frigging happy that I came across them both. thank you Twitter; you did something right for once. (laughs)

The God’s honest truth of it is... I am not sure how or where to start here. (In a GOOD way!!) This novel is jammed packed with so much friggin’ awesomeness. Ha! I think the roller coaster of feels is still jogging in my head. The anxiety, anticipation, drama, hurt, longing, shame, love, hurt, anger and lust… oh God the anger and lust... (dead) It was like a tidal wave of epic proportions. And no. I am not just blowing smoke up your ass. (Yes you see that a lot its my thing so you will have to get used to it. LOL) But, here we go…

In this novel we meet Beth or as her den father and pack calls her ‘little wolf’. She was not born into the Loam Floor pack but she was rescued by her Den father when she was a wee pup. Beth was found with her two deceased brothers in a hole, and was near death herself. Their mother had been killed as a rogue wolf which means she was without a pack. So, Beth was raised as a member of the Loam Floor pack. She was the outcast. The kid the others always made fun of, talked about and even now as she grows, hitting that time she would be reaching for adulthood she is still gossiped about. As a pure blood she-wolf she would be a mighty good mate for a male. She’d have strong young to fulfill any bloodline.

But as things are strained around her she has a way to get away from it all, for a few hours at a time. This little act of slipping her guardian’s (the wolf assigned to protect her when she is not in her home) does get her into a bit of trouble. He is a little Houdini worthy of a medal. She is very fast, and all but untrackable. Though she meets her match when Gareth is made her guardian. Gareth is a very handsome, stubborn, sexy unmated wolf that has volunteered to keep an eye on her. Oh and he is an ass too.. Beth manages to slip away from him as well but unlike the others he finds her. This in itself bothers her but what gets her hackles in a bunch is that he is an ass. She makes him pay for finding her at her secret hideaway from everyone. She gets rather pissy to say the least. The fact that he makes her tummy flip and her heart race every time he’s around bothers her too. Poor girl.

Well… that leaves Gareth having to tell her Den Father that he lost her.. but then he shocks the hell out of her… he tells her den father that she apologized to him for running off. (laughs) She is stunned but puts that aside to figure out what his end game is. here. There has to be something, right? Nah, he’s just being a good fella. Later that night, at sunset, the hunting party -which she is the only female in- goes out hunting. Her den father takes down a big kill. A boar. So he traipsed off to celebrate and run the wolf of his out of his system. This leaves Gareth and Beth alone. Now, our little girl can hold a grudge. To be fair she is a brat at times. Her being an ass -at times- herself gets them into a pickle of a mess. To ‘teach him a lesson’ she runs off, again. (shakes my head)

This time however is not like the other times. As Beth gets further and further away from Gareth she gets into some serious trouble -as only she can- by falling into a hunter’s trap. She has a broken bone popping out of her hip, blood going everywhere and no idea where she is. What does she do? She has to use her mind speak and find Gareth. He of course is pissy ‘cause he’s had to tell her den father -twice in one day- that she gave him the slip. But something in her voice finally gets his attention. When she says she’s hurt he busts his ass to find her. It takes him a while but he manages to find her. In order for her to heal she must shift. And she does with a scream… (Bet that will teach her not to run off….. lol not likely)

They look at their surroundings and they are far from their homes. But after a little looking Gareth and Beth come across a small cabin and are able to somewhat get out of the elements. There was one bed, one nasty scratchy blanket and two very naked bodies… (plants my mind in the gutter) But the gentleman in Gareth sits on the cold floor its Beth that tells him to get in the bed. She’s worried he’ll freeze but when he hesitates… she thinks it’s because he doesn't like her. (The girl really has issues. I wanted to shake her through all of this and scream at her. lol) But he quickly proves it isn’t his virtue he is worried over. It’s hers. (The gal can’t see he’s hot for her.. so special she is) After being on the bed a few second her kisses her with all of his might. For all the power the two have they lose themselves for a few moments… things turn orgasmic and then its over. Leaving them both shocked and both feeling so many emotions. Gareth winds up in his fur on the floor and Beth almost cries herself to sleep. How can a moment of passion go oh so wrong?

When they get back to the pack things fall into place and fall apart all at the same time. Everything changes around Beth so fast. Her head spins. She now has to go to the pack’s alpha and ask to have the mating ceremony done. Its time to grow up and take a mate. Does she want to do this? Urm.. no. But its time. The days count down and its time for the ceremony. Her den mother, Bea, gets her ready. Scrubbed, rubbed down in oil and sprinkled in gold… (This made me snort out loud. She’s not just a naked girl dancing around the fire now but a bedazzled one… LOL) Moving on.. she is brought out in front of the pack, the fire blazing, the drums beating and her wolf taking over as her body moves along the path around the fire. Her suitable mates are lined up and was all into it then… she moved to rub her cheek on their thighs. (I lost my shit. I. Cracked. The. Fuck, Up. A little evil voice in my head said “oh haii daddy and yeah I lost it again. I’m crazy but there it is.)

Then out of the corner of her eye she sees a man. Her wolf wants him. She rubs against him, even if she thinks its wrong her wolf is a helluva lot stronger than she is. Gareth stands before her and she offers herself to him. He hesitates, until the Alpha nods his okay. But by then Beth feels his rejection. (grrr these two kill me) Before anyone has time to react though a stranger pops into the clearing. A stranger -Donovan of the Tall Grass pack - she has seen only once. Her wolf though… wants him too. (heffa is greedy) There she stands, going from no mate to two.. two that she will have to choose between. Does she choose Gareth, who she has known since they were kids. Or the Stranger from the Tall Grass pack? Both are alpha;s in the making so… it will be a hard choice. Her Alpha gives her 3 weeks. She is to spend one on one time with them both. Get to know one another and then Beth can make her choice.

The time passes and she does as she is ordered too. She spends time with them both.. then 3 nights until her deadline Gareth and Beth go for a walk. They end up at her secret hiding spot and of course she gets pissy -because she is cray cray- and then it turns playful. They both end up in the water, freezing and then things turn heated. As in 5 alarm fire. Gareth and Beth’s want and need for each other take over and he takes her. Right there on the bank of the river. Gareth takes her virginity, a piece of her heart and marks her as his. He wants her to tell the alpha she has chosen but she tries to tell him she has to think of Donovan. These two do one thing epically no matter what is going on.. that is fight. The fight gets so bad that Gareth snatches her up by the arm and pulls her back to the pack houses. Donovan is at her place -go figure- and when Gareth’s anger reaches volcanic he shoved Beth at Donovan’s feet and walks off.

See why he is an Ass? Stupid males. So her choice is made. Even though she and Gareth have mated and she’s been marked she leaves her pack to go with Donovan. She thinks she loves him but she is not in love with him. Maybe that will do for now at least. He was going to be patient so what happened happened. Arriving at the place she would now call home things get tense for a bit. Donovan has to tell his father, his alpha that he is now mated to the girl -he was supposed - to mate. Talk about awkward! This could work, they just needed time. But time is one thing they don’t have. A few days after she gets to the Tall Grass pack and meets Donovan’s father, the alpha, and her intended mate. She is glad that plan got foiled. He is a big bear of a man. Beth can sense darkness in him.. and who needs that?

The Alpha -Bradley - tells Donovan to take her around to meet people. She is in desperate need of some learning. Her old pack each wolf was assigned one thing. You belonged to one group Like Beth for instance was a hunter. But this pack everyone has every skill possible. Exhausting. But she meets the ladies -elders if you will- when Donovan takes her to them. they do all the weaving and sewing. Fun times. Margo and Marybell. She instantly feels at ease and spends much time with them. She meets more of the wolves in the pack and it’s as she is has gone from being the outside -as she felt in her old pack- to the new future alpha female. It was strange to get used to that.

Days pass yet again Beth gets lost in herself and tries to spend time with more pack members and all the time she pushes Donovan away when it comes to sex.. she just isn’t ready for that. Truth is she loves Gareth but is too stubborn to admit that out loud. But as always the Alpha -Bradley- makes her an offer she can’t refuse or hell will come of it. She is to bond with his son. Get Gareth’s scent marker off of her or it will be him visiting her at night. Yeah lets tell the girl you will rape her and see how that goes over.

Things eventually go from bad to worse to holy mary of God what in the hell is happening. Bradley, the nasty alpha gets his way. He takes Beth from Donovan. As alpha he can do that. So in two days time she will be his during a mating ceremony. -Gags- Margo and Marybell help her come up with a plan of escape. There is no way she can mate the Alpha. He is just not right in the head. But her plans are thrown up in the air when Donovan comes to her and says Gareth is in their territory. If Bradley finds im he is dead. So.. Beth goes to him. The only way to get Gareth to leave her when he finds out what is happening is to -hurt- him. Badly. She lies, convincingly that she doesn’t love him and he leaves.

He was safe now. That was what mattered. But the night of the mating ceremony Beth is challenged and a plan comes to mind… if she loses they will have to send her back to her pack. She can go home.. but as the fight proceeds and she lets the other wolf best her her world goes black. When she wakes up -hours or days later- she finds herself chained and shackled in a dungeon cell. Seems Bradley isn’t ready to let her go. The entire pack thinks she is dead… but she is far from that.

Finally things work in her favor and by a small miracle she is able to escape her cell. And when she is free she runs. Runs like the dickens. But… the alpha follows her and it comes to a stand off. Her in wolf, hi in human form. As he gets closer to her a wolf jumps Bradley and he is wounded. -Not bad but meh- Bradley tells Donovan -the attacker- he can’t fight him. And he is right he isn’t. When a voice pops up and confronts the alpha it isn’t Donovan, its Gareth. When Donovan found out Beth was alive and in terrible trouble he went after Gareth and brought him to her. They seemed to have gotten back -just- in time. Bradley accepts the challenge - not like he would turn it down- and the two face off.

This is where things heat up and the roller coaster of feels slaps you again hard. I laughed, cried -well teared up and sniffled- and stared blankly at the pages as I read. It was intense… but if you want to know who Beth winds up with.. or if she winds up dead read it. I promise you will love it. This book has a little of this and that and a perfect mix of all of them. It;s no secret I love Paranormal and anything shifter.. but this one is definitely one of my favorites now. I am so glad I came across the author and her stories. I am anxiously waiting for more. -Not so patiently- waiting I should say.

I was given an ARC book for an honest review, free of persuasion from the author or anyone else affiliated with this book.

CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS
This story is told from the female lead's point of view. I have to say that I love books with various point of views and would like to have seen it from the male lead's point of view as well. I can see why Ms.Dowson only chose the female lead POV further on in the book. I would loved to have seen parts of this book from a couple of the male leads point of view later on.

WARNING: DOES CONTAIN SOME ADULT SITUATIONS AND CONTENT

Bound by Fate is the first book in the Moon Bound Series. This book starts off with a bang and does not let up during the whole book. I first started reading this book and thought, great another paranormal book about shifters. Well this is not the case in this novel, Ms. Dowson has a way of capturing your mind in reading and making your imagination soar.
We start by seeing how Beth came into the world and what tribe of wolves she becomes a part of. I love how her name is "little wolf". I know Beth thinks it is degrading, however I think it is a cute nickname and those who call her that mean for it to be endearing. As a reader we also see her mating ceremony, which if you can imagine is quite an experience. She does not want this ceremony and fights tooth and nail against it. The funny thing about the ceremony is it does not go as planned. I am going to say you will have to read this book to find out just what I mean.

We meet Gareth as Beth's guardian, or watcher, as she is a feisty wolf and needs watching because she gives everyone the slip. Gareth seems like a mature wolf, yet seems to want to fight with Beth every chance he gets. You know what they say about those who constantly bicker back and forth.

As I stated earlier Beth's mating ceremony does not go as planned and it is quite ironic the way things turn out. Who becomes her mate? Does she stay with her mate or run? Why is she always in trouble? Who ends up being her mate for life?

In order for you to find all the questions and more you will have to read this book and Pack & Parcel, the novella. Then continue on with the next full length novel in the series Bound by Revenge, due out January 2015.

Mandy is a great writer and will be one to watch out for in 2015 as she plans on releasing several novels in the Moon Bound Series as well as another series known as the Taboo Series.

I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is my own personal opinion.

This is a world of werewolves. Beth has always felt like an outsider in her pack. As one of very few pure-bred females she lives for the times when she can outrun and outsmart her guardians to spend time alone. But after a recent mishap with her most recent guardian, Gareth, she must come forward for mating. Unfortunately for her this doesn't all run smoothly....

I was absolutely enthralled by the excellent writing in this book. The story was gripping right from the start. The characters, the weaving of the story, the creation of the wolves and their world, the passion...
Do you want depth? Connection? An effortless flow? This book had it all.
You weren't reading it, you were in it.
I was unable to put this book down I simply HAD to read it all in one hit - I couldn't devour the words fast enough to satisfy.

As the puzzle pieces fell into place, I was kept guessing and small revelations gave me satisfaction at my correct assumptions, and in equal measure surprise at the new turn of events.

And the characters!!! Oh my! They are all so well written - so well crafted. They are everything you want - likeable, funny, strong, complex, passionate, sexy, sweet. The chemistry was sizzling between Gareth and Beth.

On the other hand I'm not a fan of love triangles - especially when both males are so lovely and my heart bleeds for them all (testament to excellent writing here). And while this one was exceptionally written, I still felt conflicted and frustrated.
I enjoyed so much the first half of the book before she left the pack that i felt a little frustrated as to how long that the next half dragged on. I wanted more of Gareth and Beth.

I was surprised in part by the ending, but nonetheless happy at how the author wrapped this one up with a very satisfying end, although I still would like more of Gareth and Beth.

Warning: explicit and sizzling sexual content

"Bound by Fate" is Mandy's first book in the "Moon Bound Series" and well it's simply amazing. I can't say I've ever read a book about werewolves before. Am I a team Jacob fan in regards to Twilight? Yes I am....equally on Edwards side too though! But this book had me wrapped round its little finger from the word go.

The maternal instinct of a rogue warewolf when threatened and the life of her cubs hanging in the balance? My heart was in my mouth from that first page and it never left there for the duration.
Beth is our main female character and we see her as a young (unmated) female in her pack and see her being mischievous and cheeky (heck it's why I love her!). When a romance threatens her virtue a decision is taken to give her a mating ceremony a little earlier than first planned. Being part human & warewolf (and a purebred warewolf at that!) she would be in high demand and not just to the unmated males she knew! Could her new mate bring an end to a long running feud? Would Beth find herself one true mate?!

I honestly didn't know what to expect or to feel anywhere near the love I did for Beth and her heartache throughout the story but I did. There are various times she was against some horrid decisions but came through it and still managed to find herself happiness. Only through these situations did she find out the truth about her past and truly understand where she "truly" belongs and who she is "bound by fate" to.

Her characters are all wonderful and unlike some books where I struggle to keep up with the different people involved I fell head over heels with them (well most of them!).

An awe inspiring read and I am so excited for the next book in the series. It really is another five star read and I guarantee you will love it!

Awesome! Must Read!!

Bound By Fate is an interesting, exciting, sexy, sensual and well-written book by author Mandy Dowson. This is the story of Beth and Gareth coming to terms with their feelings for each other and the struggles that they must go through physically, emotionally and spiritually to get to their happy ever after. The author gives the reader characters that are fully developed and that are likable. The relationships that are interwoven throughout the story are clearly explained so that they can be easily understood by the reader. The author is able to engage the reader in the story from the very beginning of the book by taking them on the emotional rollercoaster ride that is the relationship between Beth and Gareth and they get so caught up in the story that before they realize it, they have reached the end. I truly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

Beth is a purebred werewolf, she's also a 21yr old orphan with serious authority issues. Beth doesn't feel like she belongs with her pack or belongs to anyone in particular. Her denfather loves her, but her denmother can't stand her out of jealousy. After a silly mistake between Beth and her Guardian she's forced to mate, however that doesn't work out like it should. Beth's mating causes serious issues between her and the man she loves, as well as put her in serious danger. She ends up leaving her home and having to try to start over in another village, but it has deadly consequences. This story is complete with an evil psycho or two, and a lousy boyfriend too boot.

Beth was pretty much the normal 21 year old gal just trying to transition into being a woman. She wants her freedom and respect, but she's still afraid of losing her familiar kid status. Some of the men in Beth's life are Gareth, Donavan and Bradley. Gareth is Beth's guardian, he's a handsome guy that happened to get bitten as a kid by a werewolf-we all know how that goes. Donovan is the sweet tempered guy from another village, ever understanding an helpful. Bradley is the evil monster we all just wanna beat down with a shovel, he's also Donovans father(yes the plot thickens!).

Bound by Fate was a seriously intense read for me. It was extremely well written and thought out, there were just so many twists and turns it was unbelievable. My heart just kept breaking for Beth throughout the book. I also felt kinda bad for Gareth, but not much. I really enjoyed this read, I'll definitely pick up the next installment.

Bound by Fate- A good start to a new paranormal romance series!
This is a book that I purchased to read, after seeing teasers for it online. This is the first book by this author, and I really enjoyed it.
Bound by Fate is the story of a young werewolf female, Beth. Beth is a purebred wolf, making her an appealing mate. She has silver eyes that seem to glow in the moonlight. She has struggled being adopted into a pack that is not her own, knowing little of where she came from, and being different from most other females in that her gifts lie in agility and speed in the hunt.
Gareth is from the same klan. He has watched over Beth, protecting her from a safe distance. Now that she is becoming an adult, he does not seem to pursue her as she thought he may. Will he chose to fight to be with her at her mating ceremony?
Donovan's a werewolf from a rival pack. He had no intention of going to the mating ceremony, but something could not keep him away. Will he be the mate to Beth that Gareth seems unwilling or unable to be?

I liked the pacing in this book. The characters are well-developed. The story is given time to develop, and through the reader for several plot twist. You feel for all concerned in the love triangle, especially the heroine Beth. She is a strong woman who acts out of selflessness, and makes tough decisions to protect the greater good and those she loves.
I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to Bound by Revenge which is book 2 in the series, and soon to be released.

Bound by Fate (Moon Bound Series Book 1)

Congratulations, Ms Dowson's, you have a 5 star winner with the first book in the Moon Bound series. Bound by Fate follows Beth who was found by hunters of the Loam Floor pack and placed with a childless couple, David And Bea. Though loved and well cared for, Little Wolf, as Beth was called never felt as if she had a place in the Pack. Beth has reached the age of twenty-one and has been accepted by the Pack Alpha for the next mating ceremony. The descriptions and character development make real life in the Loam Floor and Tall Grass packs. At the end of the mating dance, Beth has not one but two mates. Who will Beth pick to be her mate, Gareth from her Loam Floor pack or Donovan, the son of the Alpha of the Tall Grass pack? What does the Alpha Female of the Loam Floor see in her vision? What secrets are hidden by both packs?
Gareth, Donovan and Beth are all broken in ways through no fault of their own. How will they heal themselves and their packs? The was a wonderful, captivating story that kept me reading until the wee hours in the morning. Thank you Mandy Lou for the emotional rollercoaster ride. Bound by Fate took me from laughter to tears from beginning to end. I can't wait for more!

I love the characters in this book, Gareth, Donovan and Beth.

From start to finish this book truly sucks you in! From the beginning the author gives you a glimpse of the where it all started then takes you to present day...love this! You meet a feisty young woman name Beth longing to find herself and be free...I can relate. I'll try not to give any spoilers...then you meet Garth, who is now my new bbf! You then go through the story as the author builds her magical world (beware it won't let you leave, not that you'd want to) Next you meet Donovan who is just as lovable and as sexy as Garth! Mind you, you will be torn between the 2 through the whole book....so I don't spoil it for anyone that hasn't had the pleasure of reading this awesome book I'll just say this...keep your eyes peeled for all the interesting characters you're going to meet, especially the cotton puff grannies! They are awesome! There are also some plot twists that throw you for a loop and an amazing love story under all the hotness and story line, it all flows wonderfully and is very well structured and well written. I honestly can't wait for the second book in the series and I highly recommend this book, especially if you like to escape the everyday world into some steamy trysts and awesome story telling! You won't be disappointed!

An entertaining yarn spun by a natural storyteller!,

I was gifted a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Bound by Fate is a very enjoyable shifter romance novel. Mandy Dowson creates a interesting shifter lore that is highly entertaining and thought provoking. The reader feels as though they are truly reading about a non-human woman and the struggles she endures within this unique universe. The author also spotlights the pitfalls of failing to see what is right before us in our daily existence. The lead character's angst and self-doubt contribute to her misery as well as the two males who are drawn to be her mate. Conflicts, missteps and poor judgment abound as the characters struggle to move forward and find a measure of happiness. The characters were interesting and relatable. The conflicts were not so convoluted as to be unlikely... instead the miscommunications, and incorrect perceptions were entirely too likely in human interactions and therefore completely plausible.

I really enjoyed author's style of writing. Her timing, pacing and tone are the smooth, measured cadence of a born storyteller. The book was well edited and easy to read. I can easily recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys a good shifter romance novel.

Bad boy weres ;) now Ms/Mrs Dowson,

You have ruined me I don't know who I love more in Bound By Fate so many choices to ponder upon! I have to say I loved Garrett from the beginning, right down to Donovan the sexy beast they are.

your story was nicely put together, it flowed so well, the structure, and story line was nicely interlocking you explained your characters very well.
I felt myself blush so hotly I ached my hubby had to beware of me while I read BBF it was that good I almost cried in areas. I feel for many of the characters because they all somehow touched me in personal ways. I can't believe it I was soooooo mad at David like WHYYYY would he give her away.

Even the fight with Felicity for the female-Alpha dominance of the two was pretty heavy I was elated when she let herself .......well lets just leave it at that haha. Let me tell you I wished to hell and back to rake out Bradley's eyes haha damn crazy were lol, I loved Bound By Fate I was delighted to concur with the way the story came to an end.

Mandy keep up the great work word of the wise lol (your book left me a puddle of mess) ;)

I was gifted this book by Author Mandy Lou Dowson for an honest review.

I was kind of furious with Beth for a long while because she kept making the wrong decisions for all the wrong reasons. But then I started to realize that she never really had anyone teach her any of the things she should have been taught as a wolf.

Having been found as a child and raised by adoptive parents, she was a wild child, always running from the other youngsters that always whispered about her...Thus the reason for so many mistakes in her short life.

Never would she have imagined what was in store for her when she is mated to Donovan... A little late she realizes that she left the only man she will ever love because of childish insecurities. Gareth will be the only man she will ever love.

When she meets her father in law she feels something is not right and with reason. But never in her dreams would she have imagined what that wrong is.

Lots of intrigue, evil and the difficulties ignorance and love can cause sometimes.

This promises to be a very good series.

This was a fabulous tale with Wolves, past betrayals and current evil plots of revenge all threaten the very future of the lovable rogue Beth, the only un-mated pure-bred female in the Loam Floor pack. With her strength, determination and lovable character Beth must fight for her love and make sure certain mistakes are amended before it is too late and her one true mate is lost forever.

I loved every aspect of this book, great backgrounds as scenes of gorgeous open landscape, with many enjoyable and quirky characters that all help the story into a enjoyable read and with the many twists and turns all through out the book you can't help read on to find out what is going to happen next !!

Enjoyable read and great story keep's you hooked from the very beginning and i loved learning the history of the packs and how their past has great impact on the actions of the Future, and the lovable main characters make the book a pleasure to read.

Loved this werewolf book. It has a love triangle in it and it makes it very interesting.

Beth cares for Gateth, Gareth cares for Beth but doesnt show it correctly, he actually comes across as an ass! But you know deep down there's more to it.

Beth is to be mated but who will she choose? There turns out to be two suitors Gareth and Donovan, Donovan comes from another pack and definitely has appeal.

When Beth gets the chance to 'date' both men Things get difficult. Who will she choose.

There's lots going on in this book and lots of twists that will keep you on your toes and guessing where it will end.

The characthers really came to life, I really enjoyed Beth's attitude and enjoyed seeing her mature through the book. The trouble I had was I liked both guys!

If I had a criticism it would be that the word mate is overused, I prefer people's names to be used in conversation, that's just me.

4.5 shifting love triangle stars

Wow! I absolutely loved this book! I loved how sometimes fate has certain plans for you. And completely intervenes and sets you on a new unexpected path. What an excellent shifter book! Mandy Lou Dowson certainly knows how to weave a very attractive shifter story! Now it is very hard to not give the story away and I loathe doing that anyways lol so I'm just gonna say this shifter story is amazing and just when you are sure things can't possibly get any more complicated for this spirited young she-wolf BAM!! It does. I felt bad for her and I rooted for her to figure out what she needed to survive and thrive. I can't wait for more in this series because there are so many wolves and I want to see what happens next. Who the next chosen mating pair will be. I just know it's gonna be a wild ride and I can't wait!! I hope the packs mix and change their ways but we shall see

I am still shaking as I write this, the ending blew me away. Wow, I am amazed and shocked and thrilled...This is an wonderful story, original, easy to read, easy to get so sucked in, the characters, especially Beth are brilliantly put together. Flaws and all. From the first page you are drawn into the world of a wolf, the descriptions are so vivid that you feel like you are running through those woods with her. I adored the characters, the love triangle, the villain and all of the other characters that helped to create such a fantastic read. I can't wait to read more, to see what happens to Donavon, whom I might add, is freaking adorable.

Excellently written, compassionate, gripping story. This is a must read. Seriously, you will love it, from start to finish.

This is not my normal genre to be honest, and I started reading it thinking that I wouldn't really enjoy it.
How wrong could I be?
I absolutely LOVED it!
The storyline is fabulous, lots of information but not an overload. The author has really thought of everything.
The characters are all strong and I fell in love with Beth from the start.
Gareth is a strange one but as a reader you can see through his facade and you will love him too.
The whole book had the hairs on my neck standing up and I have been converted into a 'shifter' fan!
I can't wait for the next book, to catch up with the characters and see where else the author is going to take us!
Totally impressed, and totally recommend this to anyone who wants something a bit different from the normal love story.

I received this book from Mandy as I had won it on Facebook. Right from the start I couldn't put it down it sucked me right in. The way she tells a story is amazing. There have only been a couple of authors that have told a story and the way that it is told you can picture every single thing they are saying. And man has Mandy done it for me. I love Beth & Gareth. The next story is about Donavan and I know that the next one will be just as good and I hope this will be a long series. ♥ MANDY U ROCK!

I have to admit, at first, I didn't like Beth. She jumped to conclusions and caused heartache. And yet, by the end, I liked her. She tried to make things right and found her inner strength.
I loved the two secondary characters, Margo and Marybell. They were wise and caring with a touch of humour to them.
The love triangle, thankfully, wasn't a true one. I dislike them and hate it when they get dragged out. This one is resolved and I was quite happy at the end. :)
Can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

The storyline in Bound by Fate is mesmerizing from start to finish! Mandy Dowson's creative talents found their way to the crevasses of my soul. All characters were enveloped in such tension-filled atmospheres that time stood still. The elements contained within the story are delightful and intriguing. My emotions were pulled to the surface and the my heart depended on the story each page had to offer. I will be following this author from this point forward. I relish in talent and paranormal romances that I look forward to reading more than once.
