Sacrifices he thought he could live with until he returned to the small town where he grew up and learned to ride, and, more importantly, where he fell in love.

When fate sends Nora Bennett back into his life, Reid takes one look at her and realizes that he made a huge mistake breaking up with her seven years ago. Now, he'll do whatever it takes to win her back. Born and raised in the middle of a Midwestern cornfield (not literally, that would be weird), I’ve spent my entire life imagining stories. Stories where the right guy always gets the right girl, first kisses are as magical as they are on the big screen and anything is completely possible if you believe.

Although this journey began years ago, it recently took on a whole new life. After years of devouring hundreds of Romance, YA and New Adult novels, I had an epiphany... I should write a book. And I did it!

If I’m not reading, writing, enjoying drinks with my amazing group of girlfriends or chasing around a sarcastically funny kid, I’m probably watching television shows that were created for teenagers, while my husband teases that I’m too old to watch them.

SQUEEE!!!! I love love LOVED this book!!

It’s a gorgeous, heart-warming second chance romance and I’m fully serious when I say I loved everything about it. The hero is a famous Motocross racer who returns to his hometown to realize that the girl he left behind when he went to follow his dreams still holds his heart and this time, he’s willing to do everything and anything in his power to win back her trust and prove that he still loves her more than anything.

This was truly the perfect second chance romance story. I adored every page of it, and by the time I read the epilogue, I just could not stop smiling. I loved him, I loved her, I loved them, I loved the whole story.

He kissed my forehead. “...I want to be the man that protects you. That takes care of you. I want to be the guy that I couldn’t be seven years ago.”

So here's the basic situation of the book... Reid and Nora fell in love when they were teens. Like real, deep, forever-and-ever love. But, he left town suddenly one day to pursue his dreams of becoming a professional racer. He completely shattered her heart and left her broken. But the important thing was that, even though it was undeniably a huge mistake, he did it out of good intentions. He knew what he had to do with his life, but he wanted her to live one too and not to be tied to his while he was building his career. Yes, that should have been her call, but it was a case of the wrong thing done for the right reasons. Seven years later when he returned to town though, the feelings he had for her that he'd never forgotten came flooding back and he was prepared to go as far as it took to get back the only girl he'd ever loved.

Ok. Now I have to address the big thing that made me fall in love with the book right off that bat and that was the fact that he did not become a manwhore after he left her. Even surrounded by all the temptations that came with being a sexy, famous, hotshot racer, his heart was left behind with her and while I'm not saying he was celibate, he didn't sleep around or get into relationships with other girls. He'd left with the intention of starting and building his career and that's exactly what he did. He too was in pain after he left her but he didn't use that as an excuse for anything. And that immediately made me respect him and put me in a much more forgiving frame of mind when it came to him winning her back.

I honestly feel like that was the make-or-break factor with this book. If he'd left her all those years ago and gone and slept his way through every girl that came his way, then I wouldn't have been able to forgive him if he'd come back to down and tried to get her back. BUT because of the way he acted when he was away from her (even though they were broken up), the responsibility with which he treated his career, and the way it was clear that he never really let go of the girl he left behind, made it so that I was able to believe him when he returned to town and wanted to try to earn her forgiveness, trust, and love again. It's like his behaviour proved the strength of his intentions more than any words ever could.

“Just because speed is my thing with my job doesn’t mean I live my entire life that way. I want to take my time with you… Do it right. I don’t expect you to just forgive and forget what happened back then. I know I will have to earn your trust again. And, I will.”

Another thing which many of you have asked me about is whether there's a triangle (because it says in the blurb that she's dating another guy from town at the time that Reid comes back) and the answer is honestly... to me, this isn't a triangle. Or, not in the way you'd think. The other guy just wasn't a viable love interest. Apart from being a douche, he was kind of a meaningless attempt from her to build a life after Reid had left, but it was just always clear that she wasn't actually in love with him. Her initial hesitation to get back together with Reid wasn't because she was torn between the two men, it was because she was (understandably) wary about getting her heart crushed again. To be honest, I actually thought she handled this whole situation really well. Given the way he'd left her seven years before, the recovery wasn't going to be overnight, and even though she'd never stopped loving him, I really liked that she didn't just jump back into his arms. He had to prove himself to her. And luckily, he had every intention of fighting for her.

“I’m over it.”

“No, you’re not.” I trapped her hand underneath mine and stood to face her. “You feel my heart beating right now,” I said, moving her hand directly over my heart. “You feel how fast it’s racing. I bet yours is beating just as fast… After all these years, we still have an effect on each other… I still make your heart race."

Speaking of which, I LOVED how relentless and determined Reid was to fix things. He may have made mistakes in the past, but he fully owned up to them, took responsibility, and wasn't going to give up. He was willing to go as far as it took to show her that he was sorry and that she was the only girl for him.

I love reading about functional couples. Seriously. Yes, I get that people make mistakes, and I get that things don't run smoothly -- that's life -- but I love when you can just tell that the intentions are good and their hearts are in the right place and that they're just trying their best to make things work. I get positively giddy when I find books like this -- where there's no stupid drama, and it's just two people trying to find their way back together... and where you just KNOW that they're meant for each other.

“I absolutely, one-hundred percent, still have feelings for you. And, they are just as strong as the day I left.” I pulled her hands up to my best and took a step toward her. “I never stopped loving you. I can promise you that… You know I’m going to fight for you?”

“Yeah, I know.” The slightest of smiles tugged at her lips even though tears still glistened in her eyes.

And THE FEEEEEEEELS!!!!! I teared up a few times! Especially that heart-wrenching scene when she told him the secret she'd held back all these years. *sniff* But this story was not only full of feels, but it was also sexy, steamy, and intensely romantic. Yup, it's hot too! I was definitely fanning my way through some of those steamier scenes! Ahhhh it just had everything!!! And it had the perfect epilogue with just the right amount of gorgeous, heart-warming emotions to beautifully wrap up and conclude this couple's story.

I absolutely LOVED this book and highly recommend it for everyone!!!

PS: Did I mention he has tattoos? ;)

Rating: 4.5+ stars!! Standalone Adult romance.

This is the first standalone in a series of standalones. Each book will focus on a different couple. There is a fully resolved ending in this book (with epilogue).

”Reid Travers was made to ride motocross and I was made to be his number one fan. Even history couldn’t change that fact.”

description

Elizabeth Lee delivered a light, entertaining, second chance love story. This is the first book of her new series and it is a standalone, as the next book will be based on another couple. All books will pertain to motocross racing in some aspect.

Reid Travers is a professional motocross racer and has returned to his hometown after a seven year absence. He very quickly runs into his first and only love Nora Bennett in this small Illinois town. The story is told in alternating povs as Nora is still very hurt by Reid’s actions in the past.

”To be young and in love again. No worries. No responsibilities. I twas just me and him, and his bike, of course. The bike was always there. I should have known he’d pick it over me one day.”

Reid’s feelings for Nora are as strong as ever and he sets out to ask forgiveness and win his girl even if she’s dating his former nemesis.

”I’m not denying that I left this place all wrong.” As she walked away, I added, “But don’t think for a second that I’m not going to try to make things right with you.”

Reid pulls out all the stops to win the love he had let go all those years ago. Nora remembers the girl she used to be and and the amazing feeling of being loved by Reid gives her.

”Reid was the reason I could never see a future with anyone else. He was my future.”

Overall, this was a quick, light, entertaining read.

Reid Travers is my new book boyfriend!!!!!! I absolutely loved Throttled by Elizabeth Lee. I have only read three books from this author and she has managed to get me addicted and hooked to her books!!! Elizabeth Lee, you have officially put yourself on my #oneclick authors.

Throttled was one of the sweetest and emotionally charged second chance romance done right!! I am a big fan of second chance romance trope and Ms. Lee has beautifully executed this in Throttled. I practically inhaled this book in one sitting and couldn't get enough of Reid Travers and wanted more. I love a book that can leave you with the warm fuzzy feeling and Throttled did just that.

#throttled

It's been seven years since Reid Travers returned back to his hometown in Illinois when he left to pursue a professional career in motor-cross. Being back home in his family's property brought back all the memories of his childhood and of course the one person he couldn't forget. Nora Bennett was and is still the only woman who owned his heart and soul. There was only thing that he regretted and that was how he ended things with Nora.

"How exactly do you fight for a girl who keeps running away from you? You go to her."

Nora Bennett was devastated when Reid Travers broke her heart seven years ago when he decided to pack up and move to Texas to pursue his professional career. So when fate reunites them back, Nora didn't expect these buried feelings to resurface. As much as she wanted to hate him, she knew deep down, Reid was always the one. The one who ignited passion, love, and made her feel so much more. Although Reid hurt her when he left, she didn't expect Reid to fight for her. When Reid saw that Nora still loved him, he knew he had to fight for his second chance to make it right. His second chance was within grasp and nothing can throttle his chance to get the woman he loves.

#throttled2

Reid and Nora's second chance at love was breathtakingly emotional and yet beautiful. I loved that after all these years, they still had the passion and love that couldn't be extinguished. Their love was something that runs deeps and was the soul-mate kind of love. A love worth fighting for. A love that reminds us all to never give up on someone you can't go a day without thinking about. So if you want to know where your heart is, look where your mind goes when it wanders. And Reid and Nora had that kind of love. An unforgettable kind of love. A love that was so palpable and tangible.

#Throttled1

Ms. Lee writes a beautiful, poignant and touching story of second chances that reminds us all sometimes we can't let go because in the back of our minds, we still believe that someday we'll get our second chance. All there is left to say is go read Throttled because this book had every element of what I love in romance novels. If you are fan of second chances, forgiveness, and happily ever afters then this book is for you!!!

It is always nice to pick up a freebie and get a pretty good read out of it! Throttled is a fast read of a second chance love story. Nora and Reid fell in love in high school in a small town. He was destined for fame as he was taking on the motor-cross world by storm. They had big dreams together until he left her behind. Seven long years and nothing has dulled the flame either had lit years ago.

Fairly predictable that when the prodigal son returns home he has a mission to find Nora and take her back...but time has changed Nora...hasn't it? All grown up, hard working and in a steady relationship, she is content. Nothing sets her aflame like Reid Travers, so it was fairly predictable that she take up residence back in his arms with some tugging and persistence. Add in the fact that Reid is the farthest thing from bad boy and it's really an easy decision!

Overall this read was sweet. There is no cheating, per se, a few stolen kisses where Reid claims her, but no over the top infidelity. Besides, I think Nora always was Reid's so it was ok for me! There isn't much drama...some heartfelt communication and then a declaration to do better...to stay together...to make it forever! Reid and Nora were hot together and sweet at the same time. They were completely in love and distance and time would not interfere again. Sometimes it is okay to read a simple, sweet and sexy love tale without the excess. I am looking forward to the next book in this series!

Small-town life? Check. Motocross racing? Check. Second-chance romance? Check! LOVED all of the sweet elements of this sweet and sexy and heart-pounding romance from Elizabeth Lee! THROTTLED is a throughly entertaining, exciting and refreshing romance with all of the hot and sexy elements you would expect from a book that features motocross racing.

Reid and Nora were high school sweethearts until he suddenly left her and their small town to chase his dreams of becoming a world-class motocross racer. She has tried to move on with a new boyfriend, but no one has ever compared to Reid.

"To be young and in love again. No worries. No responsibilities. I twas just me and him, and his bike, of course. The bike was always there. I should have known he’d pick it over me one day.”

Oh, Reid! How could you? Nora is sweet, beautiful and kind. I absolutely loved how Reid pursued Nora once he realized his first love felt the same way about him. If you have never read a motocross racing book, I highly recommend this light, fast-paced, feel-good story. And the steam factor is plenty hot, plus there are some very funny, laugh-out-loud moments in THROTTLED.

"Reid was the reason I could never see a future with anyone else. He was my future.” Awwww!!! Happy reading!

I am so excited to help spread the word about Elizabeth Lee's latest novel, Throttled! I love that it was a surprise release for many and she did a great job of keeping this book under wraps. I really enjoyed this first book in her new series and I am already ready to get my hands on the next book! Not only did I fall for Reid and Nora, but I completely fell for Reid's brother, Hoyt, his best friend Brett, and Nora's sister, Georgia. I am really hoping we get to see them again soon in the next book!

I was looking forward to reading another book about motocross, as I've only read one or two before and it is definitely something that interests me. There's so much freedom in this sport and I love the thrill of the ride. It can be dangerous but there's this elation that comes from riding in the wind and being completely in control of your own destiny. My one wish for this one is that we got a bit more of the motocross aspect. I would have liked to see Reid in action on the professional circuit, but the book focuses more on the second chance romance between him and Nora.

I was beyond irritated that Nora had a boyfriend for half the book though. I wanted Beau to go away and better yet, I wanted him to show his true colors so Nora would finally see him for the jealous douche he was. Nora really struggles with her feelings for Reid and I understand that. He left her once and she had her heart broken, so it's no surprise that she would be reluctant to hand it back over to him like nothing had happened. I do think she should have ended things with Beau earlier, as she was already starting to question their relationship and if it was really what she wanted. I do know Reid complicated things for her with his sudden reappearance into her life, but the sexual tension that simmers between the two almost killed me. However, I did notice that for as much as and as strongly as Nora resisted Reid, she jumped back into things with him pretty quickly. I guess I thought she would have taken it a bit slower than she did.

Reid left the town of Halstead to pursue his racing dreams and when he did so, he had to leave the girl he loved behind. Now, he is back and has earned great success as a motocross rider. He immediately comes face to face with the girl he left and he realizes that as much as he loves riding, he made a mistake in letting her go. Now, he is determined to win her back and he isn't going down without a fight.

I really liked the idea of Georgia and Brett together, so I am holding out hope, Lee writes their book. I feel they would complement each other really well and would help the other confront some of their fears and things they've been going through.

This was a sweet second chance romance and while I wish Nora would have ditched Beau a little sooner and that there was a bit more motocross, I did really enjoy this one. I can't wait for the next book!

Spoiler Alert: This H was not a Man-Ho when they were separated. And the h has a boyfriend. The tides have turned ;)

Thought I'd get that out there for you SG Ladies ;)

So this is another safety-gang-safe, sweet and fluffy reading experience from Ms. Lee. I think that may be her pattern but this is only the second novel I've read from this author...my buddy read weekend has me finishing this series. So far her books seem perfect for a good time between heavy or dark reads. They're the kind of books that remind me of candy. One or two in a row hit the spot for their pure sweetness...but, more? Then I might throw up from the diabetic shock.

This was a 2nd chance trope where the H was cute and swagger-y and totally into the h. This was relatively low angst and medium-low steam. There is no cheating by the h. The H lets the reader know he doesn't want to put her in that position so he repeatedly backs off when things turn hot...lots of near misses ;) Then when they finally kiss, she dumps the BF the next day. Which is followed by lots of make-up. And I don't mean eye shadow ;)

And for those who doubt my theory that Bon Jovi is trying to rule women through romance, I'm starting that shelf for Bon Jovi references cuz 2 out of the last 4 books had them. I'm still trying to figure out why ;)

Let's just pretend I never read this book, okay?
I mean, I did somehow enjoy it but the editing of this novel was simply awful, just way, way too many typos and sentences that didn't really make a lot of sense. The plot and the characters are extremely cliché driven but as I didn't expect anything else that was just okay.
Still not one of the better NA romances I have read so far.

WHY OH WHY HAVE I NEVER READ A MOTOCROSS BOOK BEFORE NOW? I may have a new flavor to add to my addiction.

This book was HOT, and fun, and all about second chances.

Nora and Reid dated in high school, until he left her to chase his dream at being a professional motocross racer. They never really got over each other but when Reid shows back up in town, Nora is not so easily persuaded to forgive him.

I really, really loved this book! It was sweet, fun and had me hooked from the beginning. There is a lot of emotion in this book, and will have you wanting more and more as you turn the pages.

I can only hope the next book comes out soon so I can feed my new addiction! ~ Devlynn, 4.5 stars

Reid Travers knows sacrifice—he said goodbye to his first love in order to have a chance at being successful in his second love, motocross. And he’s been successful on the race course—successful with his career and with bedding the ladies, but no one has captured his heart like Nora.

Nora Bennett is the girl Reid left behind five years ago. But she’s a woman now—successful in her own right. And she’s almost forgotten about Reid. Yeah, not really, but she’s trying. She has a job she loves and a boyfriend. Who needs Reid?

Reid is going to find a way for Nora to forgive him and see him for the man he is now—to recognize that he knows he gave her up thinking it was for her own good. But he’s back and he’s not one to take no for an answer.

Oh, motocross hotties, where have you been all my life? And a second chance romance to boot! I truly enjoyed the romance of Reid and Nora. I love how Nora makes him work for it—she’s not a pushover! And Reid’s brother Hoyt, his best friend, Brett and Nora’s sister, Georgia round out the main cast of characters in this series start. Next book is about Brett and Georgia and I can’t wait! ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

A little meh

I started this book with high expectations because it had such high ratings and was recommended by a book blogger I follow. Sadly, I found the book to be normal, not spectacular. It's a cute story about a Motocross star rider who comes back to his hometown, after achieving spectacular success in his sport. There he sees his high school sweetheart and realizes he should never have dumped her for his dreams. Five hears ago, he broke off with her because he was moving to Texas with his family to pursue his dreams. This goodbye didn't leave any openings to keep in touch. He actually never communicated again with anyone in town, he just up and went and left behind friends and girlfriend just like that. Now he returns to build a house for his parents and finds Nora. This awakens the feelings he had for her and is now determined to make things right and win back the love of his life. Except, the love of his life now has a boyfriend who happened to be his greatest rival. The story is about how he works on winning Nora back from Beau.

I didn't like Nora's character very much. I thought she was a little colorless. She kept denying her feelings for Reid, she wasn't upfront about how she felt at his desertion, and was outright hostile. Also stubborn. I found Reid to be a little self-serving. He cut contact with Nora five years ago, and now he expects her to acknowledge they love each other and she has to leave her boyfriend, huh?!?!

The story is entertaining, but I didn't find the dialogues convincing and the characters weren't wonderful. It was just a normal love story.

I always love a second chance romance book, friends and young first loves that never shake the feeling. This one was no different. The angst was palpable from the first chapter. The anger and hurt rolled off of Nora like a stream, but the one think she could not contain was the love that these two not only shared but still share. Her current boyfriend is "that guy" you know the douchey one from every high school movie made ever. The jealous, over zealous, can't quite measure up guy that creates the divide in the story we all crave, there always has to be "that guy".

My only problem with the story was I didn't completely connect with Nora..not sure why but for me the total connection that would make this a five star read lacked. I wanted something more from their past, their present and future that for ME as a reader was just out of reach. All in all I enjoyed the story, the supporting cast and the setting. Can't wait to read about the other guys coming up.

Review by Lisa Kane

Second chance at love romances just make me swoon. Seriously, they give me the stomach plummets with their heated arguments about their break up (there's always a few of those in these stories) and my eyes usually get wet at some secret that is revealed. Throttled checks off all my necessary boxes for a great love the second time around.

Reid Travers is a professional free style motor cross rider. He's back in his home town to buy back the land his parents owned years ago. They sold what they had in order for him to follow his dreams. Now that the land is available again, he wants to build his parents dream home, the one he can easily afford.

But being back home is a double edged sword. When he moved to Texas to pursue racing, he left behind Nora Bennett-his girlfriend of three years. He couldn't ask her to wait around for him while he tried to make something of himself. He has thought about her a lot over the years. While he hasn't exactly been celibate, he is no manwhore. Preferring to be alone more often than not, there have not been many women over the years and none have compared to Nora. He is nervous but anxious to see her again He's told himself that leaving her was for the best, but sometimes he wonders...

Nora has worked hard to put her life back together after Reid shattered her heart. She was totally blindsided when he dumped her. So much so that as soon as he told her they were over, she left, without letting him explain. Although to be honest, I'm not sure his explanations would have taken away any of the hurt he inflicted on her. She went to college, got her realtor's license and has been seeing an old high school friend, Beau for the last two years. They are comfortable together, and if there is a lack of fireworks, who cares? It's better than loving someone so much that they have the power to destroy your world.

As a realtor, Nora takes the papers over to the land that is up for sale to the new owners, not realizing she is about to see Reid for the first time in 7 years. That meeting doesn't go well for either of them. But it does serve to get both of them to really start to think about their past and their feelings. * thinks he needs to explain why he left and maybe get to know her again. She's always been the one, whether he wants to admit that to himself or not.

But it's not going to be easy. Especially when Reid finds out that his arch nemesis Beau is Nora's boyfriend. Reid didn't get where he is today without fighting with every thing it takes and this is no exception. Can Nora and Reid regain what they once had? Can Nora forgive him for leaving?

There are lots of colorful secondary characters in this story. Reid's best friend Brett and Nora's widowed sister Georgia seem to have formed a connection. His brother Hoyt is training a female racing sensation who sounds a little wild and is giving him a hard time. There will be more stories in this series, so we will be hearing from these guys again.

I had a few problems with this plot line. The main one being Reid's motivation in going back home in the first place. He is there to purchase land for his parents. It's been 7 years since he walked away from Nora. In 7 years he never thought to go back; even if just for closure? If the land wasn't available was he never going to see her again, especially in light of him thinking she's the "one" ? From the time he runs into Nora again, he is a straight up good guy with no hidden agenda. But he also had no intentions of retiring from racing, so he would have been on the road all the time. I think Nora made enough sacrifices over the years, I think it was time for him to do the same. I enjoyed this one; I just wish the hero had
come to town to see her again not for a piece of land.

“Some choices damn near kill you and when you think you can live with them, that you can finally stand to live with what you’ve done, you see something that knocks you right back down.”

Throttled follows the story of Nora and Reid. Nora and Reid had a love like no other. They had big plans and thought that they’d always be together. Until one day, Reid makes a choice. A choice that tears their entire world apart. Now, five years later, Reid has returned home. When Reid runs into Nora again, it’s as though fate has handed him a second chance. He knows he’s messed up and now isn’t going to let Nora out of his life again without a fight….

Throttled pulled me in from the very first page. The moment I finished that prologue, I knew I was in for a great read and I could not wait to read more. Nora and Reid’s story was a fantastic second chance romance. You couldn’t help but fall in love with these characters and want to know more about them. My heart went out to Nora. Things were not easy for her when Reid left town. She was harboring a pretty big secret and never got the chance to tell him about it, because he broke her heart. And Reid, gosh I loved him. He’s not perfect. He did what he thought was best at the time. Leaving Nora behind was one of his biggest regrets.

The chemistry between Nora and Reid was amazing. It just oozed off the pages. Even though so much time had passed, you could tell that they still loved each other and that their pull to one another was just as strong. I just couldn’t get enough of them. I loved Nora’s stubbornness and how you she wanted Reid to really understand how his actions hurt and changed her. And I loved how equally stubborn Reid was. No matter how much Nora wanted to push, he wasn’t going to let her slip away. I loved that he refused to give her up.

Throttled was a fantastic read from start to finish. The story was well-written and captivating. I loved the way the story flowed and just kept pulling you. I honestly loved everything about Reid and Nora’s story. The characters are real, flawed, entertaining and intriguing. Even the secondary characters; you can’t help but get wrapped up in them and cross your fingers that their story will be told.

Throttled had the perfect balance of angst, romance and heartbreak. It was just what a second chance romance should be. It filled me with hope and love and left me with the biggest smile on my face. The ending was absolute perfection. I couldn’t ask for more. This new series by Elizabeth Lee is off to one heck of a start and I for one can not wait to get my hands on the next book in the series!

4.5 Motocross Stars

Oh My. Hot guys. Dirt. Engines revving. This is a my kinda read.

...once again reminded me exactly why I loved riding on his bike. He balanced us with his feet on the ground, but his hands had other plans.

Reid is a motocross star. He travels the world riding his bike. Winning races. Making the impossible jumps look easy. What the world doesn't see is the responsibility he feels. The responsibility he feels to take care of his parents who left their home to enable Reid to chase his dream.

...I missed the guy I was then.

Nora is the girl Reid left behind when he left his small town for the big time. She loved him. Loved to watch him ride. Loved his dreams. Until they took him away.

That was the thing about history - it was meant to stay in the past.

When Reid needs a break from the spotlight and wants to repay his parents for their sacrifices for him, he returns home. He finds that life and Nora have moved on.

I loved Reid and Nora. He was so confident and smirky. Love a good smirk on a hot guy. Nora tries really hard to resist. But her mind and the rest of her are not agreement when it comes to Reid.

Apparently, I only mentally hated him. My body, on the other hand, was a big fan.

Ms Lee has written an fun, sexy, second chance romance. There are great secondary characters that I can't wait to read more about. Nora is a strong woman who knows Reid and their shared pasts are dangerous to her.

Anger was safe. Heartbreak was not. Heartbreak was deadly.

Will she allow herself to take the chance on Reid again. Because taking a chance on Reid means chancing heartbreak....again.

This is a story about Reid Travers who is a Motocross star rider. His life was planned and he’s willing to sacrifice anything even dumping his girlfriend for his dreams. He made awful decisions in life. He thought that he can just live with it until he returned back in town with his success and fate sends him back to Nora Bennett, a real estate agent who happened to be his ex-girlfriend seven years ago. Reid then realized that he was so stupid for breaking up with her and he wanted her back in his life. He had a little problem there, though. Nora has a boyfriend already and it happened to be Reid’s rival. But Reid Travers was made to win and he won’t give up without fighting for the love of his life.
Young Love is a learning experience and nothing else

I am not saying that this book is bad, but it wasn’t that good, too. I am torn between saying that “I really liked it” to “it was okay” that’s why I settled for three stars. I liked Reid Travers and Nora Bennett’s story. However I really find the story a bit boring, maybe it was the way the book was written or it’s just me. It lacks something to make the book more appealing, maybe. The situations weren’t convincing enough.

I also find the characters annoying at some point. Nora, for being denial and Reid for being stupid. You cannot just appear in front of someone after seven years of absence (not to mention that you’ve been an ass-hole when you dumped her) and say that you want her back in your life.

So there, 3 out of 5 stars for me.

So much feels!!!

This was my first Elizabeth Lee book and now it definitely will not be my last! Reid was uber sweet below the hot, baddass motocross rider we first see. I fell in love with his inner dialogue and we got to see how he really had everyone's best interest at heart. When he loves he is all in.

Nora was a great heroine. She was strong and yet very fragile. She lost the love of her life, thought he wanted bigger and better just not with her in the picture. Is it any wonder she was hostile as well as ..a bitch initially? I for one actually loved that she gave him what for, didn't immediately jump back in his arms because really? Who doesn't love a heroine with a backbone?

There was minor drama here very in tune to the storyline so no worries about any "accidentally wanting to throw your Kindle" this book is very much a Kindle safe zone. Great read!

I am actually not going to start whipped right away. Whipped is the next book in line, which sounds like it starts right after this ended. At first I couldn't wait for Brett and Georgia but after the teaser about Chayse and Hoyt I want them dammit!!

Anywho, Enjoy!!

Typical New Adult book.

NA- I keep breaking up with you and yet here I am again giving you another try. I keep thinking you'll be different and will surprise me. Then I get into the book and I discover that there have been no changes and the same characters are there that are actually lust driven teenagers trapped in 20 year old bodies. Things are rather shallow. This break up is my fault for going back to you thinking you were going to be different. Of course you're not and nothing has changed. You're still not a good fit for my tastes in books.

3.5 stars!
Although it wasn't quite what I expected, I really enjoyed Throttled. Parts of it felt a bit YA, and although there is plenty of drama the level of angst is low. I expected a more edgy read with a dirty-talking, badass dirt bike racer. Reid is neither. What he is is sweet, loyal, stubborn as hell and in a whole lotta love with Nora (don't you just love that name?). Reid has a lot of grovelling to do and he does a really good job. Nora and Reid's road to finding each other is not one riddled with unnecessary drama or misunderstandings.
The plot line is quite predictable but nevertheless enjoyable. Steam level is low.... Not quite YA but not panty-sizzling either.

--This was an enjoyable, quick read. I loved the characters, and there was not much angst. This was a second chance romance and I was rooting for the couple the entire time. I have to say that I understood why Reid left, but I don't understand why he stayed away so long, and why he never once contacted Nora. I also understand why Nora never contacted Reid, but it was unbelievable to me considering what she had to tell him. The no contact was what made me rate the book lower because Reid confessed to loving and missing Nora so much, that he just wanted to pick right back up. But he NEVER contacted her. That was hard for me to swallow. Other than that, this was a sweet fun read.

3.5 racing stars-
Entertaining enjoyable fast paced read with little angst. Just what I was looking for.
Reid is a Motor cross racer. Nora is a real estate agent. They were high school sweet hearts. He left. Breaking her heart, but not for the reasons she had always assumed.
He's back in town. Building a dream house for his parents. She's in a crap relationship and can't help all the feelings that pop to the forefront when they have a first chance encounter.
Reid will do whatever he can to get her back. They belong together. And if she feels about him how he feels about her-then he's going to do everything in his power to make her, his.

This was the perfect read for me after coming off a New Adult hiatus! I loved it because it was a completely realistic story that still kept my attention. It wasn't full of mushy gushy stuff that bored me to tears. It was perfectly balanced with all of the feels. I'm excited to read more about Georgia, Brett, and Hoyt!!

PS. I hope Brett gets a hold of Gregurich...

DNF

I used to be able to finish a book even if the story didn't capture me from the beginning...maybe I'm getting old or something.
