Hugo Eckener flew the Hindenburg - as Captain - on her first summer visits to America in 1936 but Hitler didn't like him and sent Ernst Lehman as Captain on the first summer flight in 1937 and Lehman died in the disaster at Lakehurst when the Hindenburg exploded at landing.
