Rate this book
Chris Redmond has gone through his Hollywood career as the lesser-known 'Chris', but he's also got a ton of demons that have created havoc in his life.

Chris got out of rehab 6 months ago, and he's trying to get his act together. The one thing that helped him while he was in rehab was a romance novel from Evelyn McCormack. Evelyn, or Evie as she is known to her close friends, is hiding her own demons, so when they get together to write a screenplay of the book Lolly's Spring, they both find that they needed each other more than they actually knew.

Evie and Chris find love while writing another love story, but will their past come back to haunt each other.

A great friendship bond

This story is about Chris and Evie, two people who have had hard times. Chris had issues with drugs, and Evie had her own struggles. They meet and start feeling better when they are together. They decide to work on changing Evie's love story book into a movie script.

The book is really about the power of friendship and giving life another chance. It tells us that no matter how difficult things are, having someone to support you can make things better.

It's a nice story that makes you feel good and gives you hope, especially if you are going through a hard time. It shows that things can get better with the help of friends and love.

Real love

This movie script is special because it shows real struggles that Chris and Evelyn face, not just a perfect love story. They help each other deal with their past problems, which makes their love feel real. The script talks about love and getting past tough times. Sometimes, it could show more about their past to make the ending feel more real.

Fantastic

The story is touching and shows how they fall in love, but sometimes it feels a bit too familiar. Still, the way they talk and connect is very moving.

Acting On It by the author Sheila Fowler is the second installment in the Love Craft series. The main characters of the story are Evelyn McCormack and Christopher Redmond. Chris got out of rehabilitation six months ago. He is clean and sober. He wants to show the world that there is more to him than just an alcoholic who falls all over any woman at a bar. Chris loved the story of Evelyn's book 'Lolly's Spring'. He wants to produce a movie based on the novel.

Evie has been fighting her own demons. They met at lunch to discuss the movie making. Will sparks fly between them? What will happen further in the story? Find out by reading this book. The past of Evie and Chris can haunt them anytime.

This is an amazing book for light reading. Sheila's writing is in a flow. I didn't feel like putting the book down until I finished it. The characters are interesting. The backdrop setting is nice. If you want to give a try to reading romcom books then go ahead with this one.

A Heartwarming Love story

Chris and Evelyn's journey is a powerful reminder that we're all works in progress. Their collaboration on a screenplay is pure magic, revealing vulnerabilities and strengths that make us human.

With raw emotion, the author tackles tough themes like addiction, scars, and uncertainty. But ultimately, it's a beautiful story of love, connection, and redemption.

When Romance Meets Redemption

Imagine two wounded souls writing a love story while falling into one themselves. The tension is subtle, the chemistry is sincere, and the emotional payoff is worth every page. If you like your romance with a side of personal growth and Hollywood flair, this is for you.

Hollywood Glam Meets Heartfelt Healing

This book surprised me. With a celebrity at rock bottom and an author with quiet scars, I expected drama and got it but also unexpected depth. The writing is cinematic, almost begging to be adapted into a film. Chris Redmond might be the ‘lesser Chris’ in Hollywood, but he’s unforgettable here.

“Quiet, Vulnerable, Beautiful”
The power of this book lies in its quiet moments the stolen glances, the late-night writing sessions, the shared silences heavy with meaning.

Evie and Chris don’t just fall in love; they find peace in each other’s presence.

A soft, comforting read for anyone who’s ever felt like a work in progress.

Romance with Real-World Relatability
Finally, a love story that doesn't sugarcoat the messy parts of life. Addiction, shame, regret - this book doesn’t shy away from anything. But it balances the dark with so much light: witty banter, slow-burning affection, and the magic of creating something meaningful together.

A Love Letter to Second Chances

This story is a beautiful reminder that broken doesn’t mean unlovable. Chris and Evie’s journey feels raw and deeply human. Watching them heal through creativity, laughter, and vulnerability made this one of the most touching romances I’ve read this year.

“A Story Within a Story”
There’s something meta about watching Chris and Evie fall for each other while writing Lolly’s Spring. It’s like getting two romances for the price of one. Add in their haunting pasts and redemptive arcs, and you’ve got a layered, emotionally satisfying tale.
