The story of Christy and traveling through the portal to the Empty World continues as she and her friend Trevor accompany Cory back to the Empty World to try to find a way to repair the damage done to his back which put him in a wheel chair. What they find is a hologram image of a girl who gives them some help, a cat who enjoys sitting in Cory's lap and protects him, and a group of marauders who have been damaging the abandoned city.

They also learn that Christy's dad and the detective are in the Empty World looking for them, since they did not realize the Christy and her friends had returned to the real world. The adventures and dangers are abounding.

"A Very Exciting Sci-Fi Adventure For Young Adults"

This is the third story of the Empty World Series, a remarkable Young Adult (YA) series imagined and written by very talented author, David K. Anderson. It's a thrilling adventure in which three teen-aged friends return to another realm. Christy Walker, Trevor Hanson, and Cory, a constant trouble-maker, is now in a wheelchair due to spinal injuries. The three teens rapidly decide to go back to the Empty World. Christy's grandfather Jack, her Dad Doug, and Detective Michael Lockhart are lost somewhere in the alien world, which is not empty but inhabited by two warring alien groups. Christy is determined to find them. Cory, always belligerent, wants to return to hopefully restore his mobility. He's very vengeful and constantly mocks Christy and Trevor even though they always have his back. The teens are projected back to the underground with the help of Brad who remains on Earth. The scenes of this story are those of the teens' experiences and also Jack's trek as he travels through unfamiliar tunnels and rippling, burning plains seeking survival. The story is fast moving, easy to read, and will engross teenagers who like reading sci-fi thrillers and adventures. A great series. I enjoyed the strong characters who never fail each other and are always determined to reach their goals. Highly recommend.

OK, I read this in less than a day. Very good read, I look forward to the subsequent books, because this books just screams cliffhanger. After reading the first 3 books in the series my thought was nice book. This book continues to develop the story line in greater depth and although I really liked it I find the teenagers to have very adult reactions to many situations. No spoilers here though, read the book & judge for yourself, but my next read will be book #4 in the Empty World Saga.
