This book is great to use with children for many reasons. Obviously the children like it because of the fun critters in it, but from an educational perspective it teaches students about cause and effect relationships and about friendship. If the critters want something, then they have to work for it. After reading this story to a class, students can write their own story which causes them to be creative about the possibilities that may happen with their actions or about what it means to be a true friend.
