Dr. Judith Lucci is an Amazon bestselling author who writes what she knows. She is the author of the Alex Destephano Medical Thriller Series and the soon to be released Michaela McPherson, Private Eye, a series centered on a retired homicide detective from Richmond, Virginia who really can’t retire.
“Before I wrote fiction, I was an academic writer who published research, theoretical works, text books and just about anything a nurse or college professor needed to publish to survive. The differences in academic writing and writing fiction are dramatic. Writing what I know propels me to pull from my clinical experiences, some good, some not and use popular fiction as a means to teach and advocate for others. My books have three purposes, to engage the reader, to entertain them and to educate about healthcare and perhaps, the darker side of hospital life.
I am a nurse and hold graduate and doctoral degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia. I have always been a reader and a writer and I love it. I am a member of the Virginia Writers Club, The Shenandoah Valley Writers and Sisters in Crime.
When I’m not writing I am probably teaching, paining on silk as I am a multi-media artist or playing with my many dogs. Please feel free to contact me at judithlucciwrites@gmail.com. I am excited about meeting you!
"RUN For Your Life: Alexandra Destephano Book 6," is another fast paced page turner from gifted author, Judith Lucci. Alexandra “Alex” Lee Destephano is on leave from the Crescent City Medical Center in New Orleans, where she’s in-house legal counsel. Her son Adam was born just six weeks ago, and his father, Jacob Stark, is a former Army Ranger, CIA operative, and counter terrorist. Alex is staying in a cottage near her grandparents, a congressman and his wife, at their home at Wyndley Farm in Virginia, along with her baby, Jacob, and her highly trained Belgian Malinois, named Shogun. Nearby agents in the Secret Service Command Center have gone on alert after hearing chatter of a terrorist attack on the Congressman’s estate. Then comes what the family insists is their Civil War ghost, named Belle, to warn of a definite attack, Alex fears she and her family may not survive. I really enjoyed this page turner. There's a lot of love between Alex, her family and friends, who are well developed characters especially in response to the danger that threatens them. This is definitely a thriller worth reading. Five stars!
This was another fast paced thriller filled with plenty of suspense, twists and turns. I loved the storyline and the characters. This book is recommended for those who love thrillers.
I read this in the Love Under Fire book. I'd heard of the author, but never read anything of hers. It was a good story except I constantly had the feeling something had gone on before and it was more exciting that what I was reading. It turned out to be part of a series. If I'd read the first one first, I'd have loved this. Although I did enjoy it, I wished I'd read the others first.
This is my first read of this series, and the author, Judith Lucci, does a great job of keeping this a standalone book. I had no trouble sinking right into the action-packed storyline.
Ripped from the headlines of current events, Run For Your Life drew me in right off the bat with the threat of terrorism in the hero and heroine’s own backyard. And the story’s setting made me even more intrigued since I grew up in Virginia.
Throw in a family element with two infant children, and a supernatural twist from Belle, a Civil War ghost, and I was hooked.
This story is an easy read with lots of action, and the author’s style paints a lovely description of the setting and characters.
If you haven’t read a story by Susan Lucci, this is a great book to whet your appetite. I highly recommend Run For Your Life.
Alex, Jacob, and their baby son, AJ, are trying to relax and start a normal life on her grandparents horse farm in Virginia. Terrorists, however, are planning another attack, intending to destroy the entire farm and all inhabitants. Lots of excitement, false alarms, and investigation before the surprise attack actually occurs! More editing of the text is still required.
I read the book of the original attack on Wyndley Farm and had a bit of a deja vous when I started this one . Still, it was a lot of same old, same old stuff . Revenge for killings from the first attack. Alex has the love of her life and a newborn . Mary and Digger have the baby Amir, rescued from Yemen . This copy was edited but the corrections not done . Do all educated people use the word "gonna"?
I have really enjoyed this whole series. Very well written. Her characters are believable . Hospital and medical issues are true to life.Lucci knows her subject matter. All books are page-turners. I would recommend these books for nurses, doctors ,and anyone who loves a good thriller. Start with #1 "Chaos" and read your way through the series. You will want to know what the characters are up to now. Gucci
Judith's writing is captivating. She researches her subject and brings this research into the development of a story that is relevant to today's world. She is a masterful story teller with a style that flows and a plot that grabs the reader and doesn't let go until the end.
It's 5:21 AM and I just finished reading this amazing book. It's spellbinding characters and plot keep you on the edge of your seat. Judith Lucci has done it again. It's full of romance, mystery and fear. I highly recommend this book for mystery lovers. You won't be able to put it down I can't wait for her next book.
Another awe inspiring story. Full of the people of Wendley Farm. This story was over the top. Filled with adventure and excitement. It kept me on the edge of my seat. The ending was really exciting. You could not be sure who was going to prevail. The terrorists were so clever in the way they carried out their attack. The ending was stunning. A real masterpiece.
This was just a wonderful read with the right amount of soft, consistent love and protection while always letting others be strong. Such a dependable author.
I couldn't stop reading this novel. I had to f2f kind out what was going to happen. Judith Lucci has developed the characters to a point where you are rooting for them and they just grab your heart!
Alex, her Grandparents, and friends enjoying the weather in Va . Horseback riding, swimming and eating great food. Great book, can't Wait for the next book with Alex and family.
I enjoyed the story, easy reading with hints of previous encounters which encourage you to read other stories! My only small criticism is that there wasn't much detail when it came to the terrorist attack. Therefore I give it four stars.
I’ve read all 6 books now, and they’re very good, full of action and suspense. I did find, however, that with each Kindle book, the typos, grammar mistakes and wrong names got worse, which is distracting for me.
I love reading books about strong women, and this one didn't disappoint me. The Alex books are always exciting and suspenseful, and full of love and friendship of her family and friends. Looking forward to the next book!
I love this series and the character development. There are a few “jump the shark” events, but still a pleasurable read. The problem I had was finding typos, strike threws and grammatical errors that take away from the experience
Another great read by Judith Lucci this author tells a story so very well. I feel like I’m in the book lol. The suspense and detail are fantastic. You won’t regret this one!
A lot of suspense to this book but a quiet suspense until the end. Run for your life has babies, special agents, home grown terrorists, jihadists and the normal day to day activities of a Virginia horse farm. Right up to the end you are not quite sure of the outcome or who will survive.
Will Alex and Jacob ever get a normal life lol... This was another awesome thriller by Judith Lucci, I have to say I feel sorry for Alex she is always in the middle of crap because of others she loves not because of anything she has done, but I also love her strength and loyalty to never give up.
Shorter than the other 5 books, this book wraps up those "what happened" questions one may have at the end of a book. These were very good books and are the second series of books I have read from Judith Lucci. I may start another one of her series (I think she has 2 more).
Run For Your Life is the sixth book in Judith Lucci’s Alexandra Destephano Medical Thriller series, and it is an intricately woven tale with lots of action, suspense, twists, and turns. Ms. Lucci is very talented in creating suspense and tension with her written words, and her descriptive writing makes the reader feel they are participating in the action as events unfold. From the first page, the reader is drawn into a complex page-turner that switches back and forth to provide the reader with the points of view of the good guys as well as the bad ones. I’m already anxiously awaiting the next book in this series. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy reading books in the thriller/suspense genre.
Alexandra “Alex” Lee Destephano is on leave from Crescent City Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana where she’s in-house legal counsel. Alex’s son, Adam Jacob Lee Destephano, nicknamed AJ, was born six weeks ago. His father, Jacob Stark, is a former Army Ranger, CIA operative, and counter terrorist. Alex is staying in a cottage near her grandparents, Congressman Adam Patrick and Kathryn Roseau Lee’s, home on Wyndley Farm in Virginia, along with AJ, Jacob, and her loyal companion and protector, Shogun, a beautiful highly trained Belgian Malinois. Security is a priority at Wyndley Farms, and agents in the Secret Service Command Center, which is located close to the main house, have gone on high alert fearing another attack. Things have been calm and quiet for several months, but the agents are aware of recent chatter that there’s another attack planned on the Congressman’s estate. Belle, Wyndley Farm’s resident Civil War ghost, who warns the family against danger, appeared to Alex shortly after she and Jacob spotted a light down on the river near the cottage and main house. Belle’s appearance foretells threats are imminent, and Alex fears she and her family may not survive another attack.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
If you read this review, please note it isn’t for anyone but myself; I take notes in reviews to make it easy for me to remember books I read.
Terrible editing to the point that it was distracting, and so little content to the plot as compared to the previous books in the series. I’ve lost interest in Alex as a character because the author has tried to make her so flawless and not relatable that she’s just meh to read about. In this book, all she is doing is literally hanging out at a house as a family member and fiancée, and she’s peripheral to this story except to get chills up her spine, get goosebumps, cry or be skinny and pretty. (Timing-wise, maybe she’s on maternity leave or has decided to become a stay-at-home mom, but that’s never mentioned). In the last book she was hanging out at a house moping over a one-night stand while she was pregnant, but at least for part of the book she went back to the hospital and her job where 99% of the series action has occurred. Also, I know they addressed it in the last book, but I can’t buy that no one holds grudges that her fiancé was part of the first terrorist attack. And it seems like the terrorists would go after his daughter if they want to get to him, but I guess that was just a minor plot point from before that didn’t deserve discussion here. Oh, and can authors start using a cheat sheet of their characters so they don’t keep messing up their names from book to book? This author even messed up a character name within the same book before.
Overall, I just feel like this was really sloppily put together and didn’t follow the series. I’m glad this is the second to last book since I’ll make myself finish the series having read six of the seven books.

Review for Run for your life by Judith Lucci I had a hard time putting this down once I got into it! So needless to say I read it in two days😀. I quickly fell in love with Adam, Kathryn, Alex, Jacob, Digger, Mary and their sweet babies! The challenges facing them are very real in our would today to those who oppose the jihadists! I appreciate the author’s approach to this topic. She has written a story full of deceit, trepidation and love and loyalty. I am a fan of her medical mysteries. I highly recommend it. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a review.
