I dont like it when people minimize real pain and illness and say you can treat this with positive thinking. Dude, I am not able to breathe and it’s gonna stay with me my whole life. I wanted to read this book to learn a new way of dealing with pain. All I got was this person did that this person did this stories. Yes by all means positivity helps, but remember the reality as well. This is a self-help book with motivational stories, none of which helped me even a little.

It´s a great book, but not for me.
The line between great insights and plain self-help is tiny, this book has a GREAT INSIGHT: you must choose the narrative of your life!
All the rest, to me, seems stories of self help... self encouragment... it can work, but not my type of thing.

Half biography half advice. Geared towards those with chronic illness. The message is good, I just wasn’t a fan of the writing style. The advice was a bit generic

This book was disappointing in that there was absolutely nothing original or helpful. He just regurgitates ideas that have been around for decades in the self help industry. If you’re hoping for some great revelation or insight you’ll probably be disappointed unless this is your first venture into the self help world.

3.5 Stars. There was nothing new in this read but I enjoyed how he took a look at a variety of spiritual and wellness practices throughout his journey and shared how they helped him and people he worked with.
