Alaskan Cyber Hunters #3

70 North: Alaskan Cyber Hunters, Book 3

Rate this book
The Cyber Solutions team has managed to stay one step ahead of the madman who has killed so many. From the original 26 Below cyberattack in Fairbanks to the 8 DOWN serial murders in Anchorage and beyond, they matched wits with the killer and stopped him from reaching his ultimate goals.

But final judgment is coming. And this time, there may be no defeating him.

David “Mac” McPherson has a personal stake in making sure this predator stays down for good. His family died in the cyberattack. Mac knows that God says “vengeance is mine”—but surely an exception can be made.

Surgeon Tracie Hunter is determined to stay sober and keep saving lives in Fairbanks, Alaska—even if it means being a little obsessive. After all, that same kind of determination is how she kept Mac alive after the murderer targeted him.

And she won’t let Mac run himself into the grave looking for payback; he’s come to mean too much to her.

Then someone hacks into the system at Tracie’s previous job and frames her in a murder cover-up. There’s no one else skilled enough to create a digital trail this incriminating—the killer is back in action, exploiting cybersecurity weaknesses to destroy lives. Can Mac stay focused and stop the next attack?
Or will his need to make someone pay for his pain allow the maniac to pull ahead and win at last?

“A powerful exploration of resilience and redemption.”—Lynette Eason, best-selling and award-winning author of the Lake City Heroes series

70 North is an edgy, suspenseful story that kicks off with a bang and is a page-turner to the end. It is the final book in the Alaska Cyber Hunters series and is really just another segment of the mastermind that started the havoc in the first book. This is scary thinking about what someone could do to our world. Throughout the series, we ee how our characters depend on faith when their human frailties show them they are not enough alone. Romance and friendship play a part in rounding out the story. I listened to the book via Libby. narrated by Natalia Payne and published by Recorded Books.

Two years after the diabolical 26 Below attacks and the serial killer, everyone thought was dead, resurfaces and threatens Alaska once again.
Ms. Woodhouse has crafted a truly evil, unbalanced villain. The Cyber Solutions team certainly has their hands full. The author definitely puts them through their pieces. She brings light to a problem that haunts Dr. Tracie Hunter. A problem that she thought she had under control until she sees that she should relinquish that control to God.
With lots of cyber talk and up-to-the-minute technology which could go wrong this novel covers a lot of bases. We see manipulation by a contemptible bad guy, frustration by the team and despair in Tracie. But there is also a lesson in letting God lead, conquering unforgiveness, and getting priorities straight. Mac was a credible hero with his own flaws that he was learning to overcome. But both Mac and Tracie had a network of friends who were there for them.
This was another stunning story with real-world implications, and deep spiritual lessons. I could not stop turning pages.

(read for endorsement) Buckle up, suspense fans! The intense ride that Kimberley Woodhouse has been so skillfully steering across the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series comes to a heart-racing conclusion in 70 North. Plan not to do anything trivial like sleeping, eating, or even working - and figure out a way to read in the shower - because you won't want to put this book down until it's done. Having the whole team in play will delight readers, as will the sweet romance and the heartfelt explorations of addiction, grief, faith, and forgiveness. I loved every word!

Powerful conclusion to the series! And what a frightening series that feels all too possible. Technology is a great thing, but can also be used for ill intent. A favorite aspect of the series is that the villain and crime continued throughout the entire series rather than a new villain for each book.

In 70 North the serial killer with a knack for technology has big plans to show Alaska and the world that he is cunning and powerful.

Mac was personally impacted in 26 Below and his desire for vengeance is palpable. He knows he needs to reign that in for his health and his relationship with God.

Surgeon Tracie is a recovering alcoholic that prides herself in being committed to her patients and giving them the best care possible. Then she seems to be getting attacked on many fronts.

As Mac, Tracie and cyber experts in Alaska work to outsmart the villain, it's a race against the clock.

My gratitude to the author and publisher for a complimentary copy of the novel. I was not required to post a review and all opinions expressed are my own.

“Lies, no matter how public they become or who believes in them, are still lies. They are tools of the enemy.”

This third and final book in the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series is fantastic, edge-of-your-seat, suspense!

The world’s eyes are on Alaska as a cyberterrorist has attacked Juneau’s water system, hacked the nation’s newspapers, taken credit for the 26 Below attack and now claimed responsibility as the 8 Down serial killer. His last communication, 21 days ago, warned of his grand finale in 76 days. Fear sets in as nobody can figure out his motivation, what he’s got planned or what he’ll do next.

I appreciated an examination of:

✔️Forgiveness - Are we able to forgive even if the other person never acknowledges they’ve done anything wrong? Are we able to forgive without knowing the outcome?
✔️Handing over our burdens so we can take the next step
✔️The danger of going it alone and trying to maintain control
✔️The gift of friendship and camaraderie
✔️Where to find soul sustenance

Lasting impressions:
✔️Pride is really relying on oneself
✔️Be more concerned about God’s approval than allowing our self-worth to be determined by others
✔️Anger and fear are ‘division tools’ used by the enemy

💜I loved that in Tracie Hunter’s tool box of responses, the first and most important tool was prayer.

I’m really sad to see this series end. It’s a perfect mix of faith, suspense and romance.

I was gifted this copy and was under no obligation to provide a review.

This edge-of-your-seat thriller concludes the riveting Alaskan Cyber Hunters series. The suspenseful, emotional story follows the Cyber Solutions team along with numerous law enforcement agencies as they continue the quest to stop a psychopathic sociopath who is wreaking havoc in Alaska. The multi-layered “maybe this could actually happen” plot held me captive from beginning to end. Amazingly detailed technological descriptions show evidence of exhaustive research and outstanding creative skill. Ms. Woodhouse stretches your mind and imagination with technological possibilities—some beneficial, some frighteningly disastrous! Expert characterization enabled me to feel Mac’s anguish and frustration as he is driven almost to the breaking point physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually by this harrowing quest. The story is heavy on suspense and light on romance—just the right amount of each for this story! I appreciate the strong faith thread with a major theme of forgiveness without conditions. I love this story and the series and consider both must read inspirational romantic suspense.

Intense...action filled story that will keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire ride. I loved this entire series, and puts it at the top of my list for Kimberley Woodhouse books.

The action is heart pounding and the characters are so deeply engraved in the story telling. It made me want to pray for the characters and hug them. Kimberley Woodhouse writes these characters so strongly that you can feel their emotions, panic and fear. I also loved the way she handled addictions throughout the series. The cyber storylines hooked me in and makes you think about what could really happen in the world. I thought it was really well written and I didn't want the adventures to stop...

The final book of Kimberley Woodhouse's Alaskan Cyber Hunters series delivers everything I love in Christian suspense: gripping tech drama, edge-of-your-seat intensity, and a powerful faith journey at its core. 70 North does more than just keep you glued to the pages—it pulls you deep into a battle where digital chaos meets God’s unshakable truth.

David “Mac” McPherson is a man on a mission. His thirst for justice (or maybe revenge?) has never felt more raw, and it’s not hard to see why. The monster who destroyed his family is back, ready to wreak havoc, and this time the stakes feel higher than ever. Sure, God says “vengeance is mine,” but when you’re staring evil in the face, it’s tempting to take matters into your own hands, isn’t it? Mac’s struggle is real—holding back when the world is telling you to fight for payback, and yet, hearing that still small voice reminding you who’s really in control. This book doesn’t shy away from that tough truth.

Enter Tracie Hunter. Surgeon by day, warrior of faith by night. Tracie’s past won’t stop haunting her, but she knows God has given her a second chance—and she’s determined to make the most of it. Her prayer, “God, I need Your help to put it behind me. Every time the memories or nightmares come, You’re the only one who can push them back. Help me to focus on the lives in front of me that need help. Guide my hands. Help me do everything to the very best of my ability. For You,” hit me straight in the heart. Isn’t that the cry we all have when our past or something that is on endless loops in our minds tries to pull us under? She’s a living example of Romans 12:1-2, constantly renewing her mind and offering herself as a living sacrifice for God’s work.

Speaking of tech, let me just say, the cybersecurity angle is spot on. Woodhouse doesn’t just throw in jargon for show. Every digital threat is realistic. The way she weaves in the realities of our modern tech-driven world makes you realize just how fragile things are when the wrong hands get ahold of the powerful tools. It’s all about trust – in God, in His timing, and in His justice – even in the midst of a tech-driven world. The villain in this story is as relentless as ever, but the real battle here? It’s spiritual.

Tracie’s prayer stood out to me: “When fear and despair try to take me down, Lord, help me to remember Your Word.” That’s it. That’s the heartbeat of this entire novel. In the face of fear, despair, and literal cyberterrorism, it’s God’s Word that anchors these characters—and us.

If you're into high-octane suspense that brings you to your knees in prayer and reminds you of God’s sovereignty in even the most tech-driven chaos, this book is for you. 70 North will challenge you to think about the battle between control and surrender, revenge and justice. It’ll keep you guessing, but more than that, it’ll point you back to Jesus, the One who sees all and holds everything—even our digital world—in His hands.

My honest and unbiased opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the writing style, the pacing, and the story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.

Well. My goodness. I just finished another Kimberley Woodhouse book and once again, I am speechless. Once again, this is a book I could not put down.

Ok. Here goes nothing...

Forgiveness. Alcoholism. Slander. Tension. Unashamedly, unabashedly, overtly Christian.

I'm sorry. I still can't think clearly, so let's try this-here are the notes that I took:

One of the many things I like about this series is that the main characters aren't in their 20s. As much as I hate to say it, they're "older".

My. Heart. Just. Stopped.

Recovering alcoholic, dealing with everything. I can't imagine.

Heart. Is. Broken.

I feel like Oprah: "you get a tab, and you get a tab, and you get a tab, and..."

Whoa. I did NOT see that coming.

Kimberley Woodhouse really knows how to complete a series! If you start this book you will never want to put it down! This high action novel leaves you on the edge of your seat as it follows Mac who has a personal vengeance to take down this ruthless killer. The other character is a surgeon, Tracie Hunter, who is determined to stay sober and save the lives in Fairbanks. But with Tracie being framed for covering up a murder she has nowhere to turn but to Mac and the cyber security team. Together can they catch the killer who has killed so many innocent lives? After the 26 Below attack and the 8 Down attack, Final Judgment is coming and Tracie, Mac, and the cybersecurity team will stop at nothing to stop the killer, even if it means with their lives.

Overall this book was such a page turner! I highly recommend this book and it was by far one of my favourite books/series this year! I especially loved loved how it switched perspectives to the serial killer. And the twists in this book were insane! I could never guess what was coming next and it left my jaw dropped!

Wow! What a great conclusion. I must say I was getting very nervous at one point. That killer is just so scarily crazy. I really enjoyed the main characters. I liked how they struggled but then they realized they needed to hand it over to Gods hands. The Christian message was really good.

70 North was a thrilling conclusion to the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series. These novels are best understood if you read the entire three book series in order. Events definitely build upon one another.

I really liked the flawed characters of Mac and Tracie. I felt bad for what they had experienced in their lives that led to both of them carrying loads on their shoulders that were heavier than most people bear. But there was a great spiritual thread running throughout the story which helped both Mac and Tracie as they dealt with their burdens.

The villain continued to be truly terrible in this novel and extremely good at the job they set out to do. It felt as if the good guys would never be able to stop him and his evil plans.

I enjoyed that the two couples from the prior books were working hard in this novel to help bring down the killer. It was great to see how all of these characters interacted and grew even closer in this book.

An incredible ending to an amazing series! This entire series has been so interesting to read and such original storylines.

The series is a continious story that builds and builds through each book. 70 North starts and ends with a bang and includes so many fantastic faith and character building elements!

It really took a lot of brain power to try to keep up with the plans of such a brilliant minded cyber terrorist.

Your mind will be challenged, your faith will be strengthened, and your heart will be stretched.

Fantastic series makes you think about all the possible ways technology can bring the world to an abrupt stop. Highly recommend reading all 3 in order: 1. 26 Below 2. 8 Down and 3. 70 North. Kudos to Kimberley for a thrilling series well written and thoroughly researched.
Definitely worth the read!

What a wrap up to the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series! I really loved Tracie and Mac's story in this one and how all the characters were brought back to work together to get to the bottom of all that was happening. The Cyber Solutions team has their hands full when Mac relays the story of how he got shot, but his story is not matching up to what other witness say happened. They start question things a little more, but Mac knows what and who he say. Tracie has once again saved Mac's life. He seems to become a regular visitor in her hospital. When she gets put on a leave due to her name being connected to a murder from years ago, she can hardly believe it! Murder! She never could do any such thing. But the evidence they claim to have, isn't making sense. Mac devices to help look into things for Tracie, she has saved his life after all, it's the least he can do. As the team works on Mac's mystery shooter and Tracie's supposed evidence, chaos ensues with a bombing and claims of many many more to come. Now feeling like they are ten steps behind, the team is on hyper drive trying to work with all of the other agencies to find this guy and his motive and next targets. Every time the team feels they are getting a lead, it turns into a dead end. When given an odd clue by someone thought to have been dead, the count down really is on to trace things to origination. Just when they think they may have narrowed things down, a hostage is taken and this maniac has very specific rules that must be met so no one else dies. Can the team keep from anyone else being harmed or killed and take down this psycho once and for all? This was a fast ride from page one to the end. I really enjoyed this series. This story is definitely “more better” than a lot of suspense books I have read! (You’ll get the joke once you read this book). I have thoroughly enjoyed this contemporary suspense series by one of my favorite authors. Set in Alaska with an evil and cunning villain, the stories have been chock full of excitement and mystery and I could not wait for the finale. 70 North did not disappoint! There are lots of twists and turns, a main character with personal stakes in catching the criminal and great faith thread about depending on God and really learning that how destructive pride can be. Kimberley has woven a great story and series in the Alaskan Cyber Hunters and it’s definitely a series I will reread and handoff to my hubby to read now that all three books are out. He’s going to love them, the books are that good!

70 North is the thrilling and chilling conclusion to Kimberly Woodhouse’s Alaskan Cyber Hunters series. Thrilling because once the action ramps up it never stops, and chilling because the terrorist plot seems all too plausible. For those who have read the first two books in the series, 70 North begins 2 years following Griz’s disappearance. Everyone in Alaska has breathed a sigh of relief believing the man behind the 26 Below and 8 Down attacks has been killed. But David “Mac” MacPherson has seen him with his own eyes and lived to tell the tale. Alaska learns the truth as well, and it’s all hands on deck as characters from each of the books work to find and stop the man obsessed with creating chaos.

I loved this whole series, but especially liked 70 North. The two main characters both struggle with loss and overwhelming feelings of helplessness. For Mac it’s the reality of his wife and daughter killed in the original attack, and for surgeon Tracie Hunter, it’s the demons of addiction and perfectionism. I liked that they were flawed and knew it. It made their dependence on God and not themselves more relatable. The strong faith journeys for both characters balanced well with the out-of-control suspense that rocks all of Alaska. As the ending loomed, I was furiously turning the pages. Clear your schedule because you will not want to put this book down!

If you love an adrenaline-fueled suspense, put this whole series on your TBR list. Prepare to binge read them from start to finish. You’re welcome. 😉

Highly Recommended.

Audience: Adults.

70 North by Kimberley Woodhouse actually completes the Alaskan Cyberhunter's mystery series. The story starts with the characters noticing that the killer that actually started all the crime in 26 Below actually has NOT been caught. Now the race to finish him off in this book is a go. Woodhouse does a wonderful job at keeping the action moving throughout the entire story. She keeps referencing items and characters from the previous two books. I enjoyed that. As for the romance, there was a slight growth of emotions, but enough to take away from the plot, but enough to have the hero and heroine think of the other person and how their actions would affect the other characters. Readers will enjoy the constant viewpoint of the villain. I loved how she kept daggling his thoughts and making the suspense more and more thrilling. Even though this is Woodhouse's first dive into suspense, I think she could keep going. It was a wonderful series, and I hope to be able to own them all. Overall, 70 North by Kimberley Woodhouse is a high octane suspense novel with a hint of romance that I really enjoyed reading.

“70 North” is the third installment in the Alaskan Cyber Hunter series. I would definitely suggest reading these in order or they would be confusing and spoil a lot.Another great story from Kimberly Woodhouse, well researched and written. I enjoyed the suspense and twists throughout the book. This book emphasizes on forgiveness for Mac and Tracie and was well written. I have really enjoyed this series and would highly recommend it for anyone that loves clean suspenseful books. It truly makes you think after reading these books, how technology impacts our life and how AI / cyber attacks are so real and could be so scary if they happened in our own communities. Overall, a great ending to the series!

I will never see my computer, smartphone, and smartwatch the same EVER again now that I've reached the end of the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series! The reality that we are all so attached to our technology is made all too plain in this series, and it makes me wish I had the fortitude to live off the grid completely.

There are not enough words to convey how much I truly enjoyed every single story. They are all interconnected the way a good series ought to be, and the reading experience is richer for reading them all in order. 26 Below introduced us to a technical genius who used his skills to terrorize people. He continued his reign of terror in 8 Down with chilling crossword puzzle clues before he took out his victims. And now with 70 North, his desire for total control knows no bounds as he picks innocent people off one by one. How in the WORLD will Kimberley Woodhouse ever top this series?! I finished all three in the span of ONE WEEK because they are that stinkin' good!

So now that I have lost sleep, skipped eating, and procrastinated the cleaning of my house - all for the sheer need to read these books - I guess it's time to go back to the real world! Please, Kim...do not make us readers wait too long before you give us more spine-tingling, heart-pounding suspense. We need more!

He's back! The brilliant serial killer who staged the 26 Below cyberattacks in Fairbanks and the 8 Down serial murders in Anchorage has returned after two years to completely devastate Alaska and then go on to other countries.

David "Mac" MacPherson is out for revenge against him because he murdered his wife and daughter and shot Mac.

Mac's surgeon Dr. Tracie Hunter can barely put up with her patient near the first of the book, but she doesn't give up. When the serial killer frames her for a murder she did not commit, Tracie and Mac team up to find him, stop him, and clear her name before more people die. As they work together, they discover a growing interest in each other, but each wonders if their baggage is too much to take into a new marriage.

I listened to the book rather than read it. Natalya Payne did a good job reading it and differentiating the voices. However, I'm not an auditory learner, so it was hard for me to focus on the story--my fault, not Woodhouse's or Payne's.

It is a satisfying climax to the series. Both main characters grow as the book progresses.

I read this book all at once if that's any indication of how much I enjoyed it and was hooked into the storyline. Once again Woodhouse draws readers into this amazing cyber world - one that honestly scares the dickens out of me! I mean every twist and turn she writes is believable, that's what is so scary! You don't think about cyber crime all that much, but man does it have some bad effects.

I really enjoyed the chemistry between Mac and Tracie. They just complimented each other well on the page, and I could see their story playing out before it happened - and Woodhouse met and exceeding my expectations for them. She also exceeded my expectations about the bad guy in this story. Now I know we've seen him before, but something was different this time. Like he felt more evil or something. I can't really put my finger on it except to say that it made the book more intense - in a good way!

Buckle up buys because you're about to go on a fast and dangerous ride. I'm sorry to see this series end - but I'm excited to see if Woodhouse will do some more suspense novels in the future. I for one would be all for that!

Oh my! What a conclusion to the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series!! I had the hardest time putting this book down, frantically turning pages late into the night. So much suspense!! The idea that these things could actually happen are unsettling but they are presented in such an understandable way.
I enjoyed getting to know Mac and Tracie and following their journeys of forgiveness, faith, and surrendering control to God.
I thought it was amazing how Kimberley brought the WHOLE Cyber Solutions team together for this final push to catch the killer. Who doesn’t enjoy a check in from their favorite characters in a series?
Favorite lines: “You can’t let him into your head, Tracie. Even though everything seems so dark and hope is impossible to find…cling to Jesus. Hold on to Him with everything you have. He will sustain you.”

I could not wait for this book to arrive. I have read the other two in this series and, as with those, this one kept me on the edge of my seat! I could not put it down. Each book in the series shows some aspect of walking by faith in Christ. This one is full of the theme of forgiveness… forgiveness of others and forgiveness of self.

My favorite character in this installment is Dr. Tracie Hunter. I love that Woodhouse makes her characters flawed and realistic. Tracie wrestles with control and addiction. I love how she and Mac both cry out to God in their hardest battles as they lose control, fall, and struggle to stand again. Woodhouse shows us a strong God in the face of some very trying moments.

70 North is the final book in the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series by Kimberley Woodhouse. While it could stand alone, reading this series in order is best, as the final mastermind is revealed, and you will miss some of the connections.

This book requires a bit of concentration, as the timeline jumps around with several different perspectives. This includes the killer's perspective and a female member of a group he was once in charge of.

The story moves at a fast clip with plenty of action and suspense. If you want a glimpse at how truly evil one person can be, in a scary, real way, then this is the book for you. I was seriously disturbed by the level of destruction one person could cause. It's even scarier to think that cyber threats like this could happen.

I appreciated Dr. Tracie Hunter's dedication to her job. I disagreed with her making her job her life, but given what we know about her, it's understandable.

I enjoyed the cast of characters (the good guys). They had a solid friendship and good chemistry on the page. I loved Mac's bond with the guys and the accountability they had with each other.

While all the threads are mostly wrapped up, one is left hanging, which made me not enjoy the ending. This is a personal preference and I can't say what happened, but it was surprising.

Thank you to JustReads Publicity and Kregel for the opportunity to read this book. I was not required to provide a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

This highly anticipated finale to the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series is a rollercoaster ride full of twists and turns. In book one of the series, I was riveted by the fact that there is potential for this kind of madness to occur in our present day with so much reliance on technology. Ms. Woodhouse's research and imagination are a perfect blend to create a masterful suspense that will keep readers on the edge of their seats.

With expert plot pacing, Ms. Woodhouse skillfully parcels out one clue after another as Dr. Tracie Hunter's carefully crafted world spins out of control. As Tracie is drawn into the circle of cyber hunters with her growing friendship with Mac, she finds herself the newest victim of The Typhon Killer, the mastermind behind the cyber crimes in 26 Below and 8 Down. He taunts the team of cyberhunters as he comes out of hiding, quickly approaching what he refers to as Judgment Day. It is a race against time to prevent a catastrophe that could be felt worldwide. Deftly woven throughout is the faith thread of the peace that comes with forgiveness and releasing control.

I love the way MS. Woodhouse tells her story from several POV, including that of the villain. No spoilers, but how creepy is that? Riveting series!!

Most of my fellow readers have commented that this book was impossible to put down.

Well, I was able to set it aside every few chapters. I had to. If I hadn’t taken breaks my heart would have exploded and my mind would have gone crazy with the possibility of anything like this happening in real life!

I’ve never read a thriller so intense and so plausible! Kimberly Woodhouse definitely did her homework! Each book in this trilogy is twisty and complex on its own, and yet easy to understand and follow.

But the tension ratchets up with each book until the cataclysmic ending of 70 North. My mind is blown, my heart is racing, and I don’t know how she kept it all straight.

Rich detail, a complex multi volume race to stop one of the maddest mad men I’ve ever encountered (thank You Jesus he’s only fiction!), and a breakneck pace—and Woodhouse did not miss a beat.

Some of most exciting and intelligent fiction I’ve had the privilege and pleasure to read! Very highly recommended!

it's time for a wild conclusion to the alaskan cyber hunters series! the serial killer's still on the loose—and this time, he's so prepared that he just may be unstoppable.

david "mac" mcpherson lost his family to the killer's 26 below cyberattack, and he's determined to prevent others from suffering that same fate—and maybe, for a little vengeance, too. doctor tracie hunter winds up in the midst of the chaos, as she helps mac recover from a gunshot—and becomes one of the killer's targets, too.

there's a lot happening at every turn in 70 north. mac and the rest of the cyber solutions team seems to be playing catch-up, trying to track the madman's movements through a series of "distractions" leading up to his final act of mass destruction. i knew he couldn't win in the end, but i was on the edge of my seat to see exactly how they would stop him.

the events of 70 north are especially unnerving, given the amount of technology now integral to daily life. it seems like, at the hands of the wrong person, everything really could come crumbling down...

i will say, though i enjoyed 70 north, there were times i missed some of the greater context. the alaskan cyber hunters is one of those series that should be read in order, and i didn't realize that when picking up 70 north. i'm sure my enjoyment of this book would have been even more had i read 26 below and 8 down first... so make sure to read this series in order!

(i received a complimentary copy from the publisher. i was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions i have expressed are my own.)

considerations:
—language: none
—spice: kisses only
—faith: mentions of God, prayer, and forgiveness
—content: murder, terrorist attacks, violence, loss of loved one

Powerful ending to an intense series!

What a rollercoaster ride! Mac and Tracie were put through the ringer with this one. It was the perfect wrap up for this series. It works as a stand alone, but I highly recommend reading the entire series in order for the full impact. Woodhouse inserts enough explanation of what happened before that you won't feel lost if you only read this one, but to fully understand Mac's journey, it's best to start at the beginning. 70 North takes us deep into the heart of man, not only to the depths of man's depravity (This series has a body count higher than most I've read), but also the depths of man's pain and sorrow and how far man will go to find release from that pain. This series, and 70 North specifically, deals with substance abuse, not only in the lost but in the saved. It reminds us how easy it is to fall into sin, but also brings us back home to God's grace. It reminds us that forgiveness is always available--how much we need God and good friends to help us through our trials--we can't do this life alone. The ending was perfect for this book, and I recommend reading the author's note afterward. Woodhouse does something a little different than expected.

I loved the beautiful moments intwined with the suspense and highspeed chase. The countdowns (and ups) at the header of each chapter added to the impact. It is chilling when you think of how easily someone could shut down our world through technology. It begs you to ask the question, is it worth it? The villain is one where you're going to root for him to get his comeuppance, but there's a point when you'll wonder if he's really going to get away with it all. He's cunning, brilliant, and has every possibility covered. He just might be too much for the cyber hunters.

Excellent book, and a series I highly recommend to lovers of romantic suspense.
