A Christmas novella which tells a twenty-five-year love story. Nurse Rebecca Porter and bush pilot Kyle Warren’s relationship started terrific, tight, memorable and romantic. Kyle swept Rebecca off her feet in a remarkable marriage proposal. Their fantastic wedding day surrounded by beauty, family, words of wisdom and promises made went without a hitch. An unexpected marvelous honeymoon trip took them up in the air to enjoy the rugged landscape of Alaska. Can their storybook relationship go on without a flaw? Do they have what it takes to dig deep into their souls to heal, grow, and change? Through the years, Christmas remained Rebecca’s favorite time of year when peace reigned for a day. Love traveled with Rebecca and Kyle from the snow covered Mountains near Anchorage, Alaska to the vast ocean off Miami, Florida’s coast. Helicopters, small aircraft, speed boats, and vintage cars marked their mode of transportation in this tale of hearts won through love language, prayer, and perseverance.

A love story that will leave you feeling good

Robin has a way with writing her characters to make you feel like you know them. I cried and had a hard time putting the book down. The only part I didn't like was that the story ended. Great little read.

Lessons to Learn

Over the years, I’ve read hundreds, probably thousands, of books. Romance, Christian romance, suspense, and Christian suspense. Most all of them I’ve enjoyed. I have learned lessons from some of them. Of all of those books, I’ve only taken notes from one. Until today. “Restoration” is the second Christian Romance book from which I’ve taken notes. There are so many lessons to learn from or be reminded of, it’s hard to know where to begin.

Rebecca and Kyle are madly in love when they marry but over the years, life gets in the way as it so often does in our lives. A near-tragic accident with their daughter, Natalie, drives a further wedge until eventually Rebecca tells Kyle to leave.

There are lessons in “Restoration” about God’s love, but also on loving ourselves before we can truly love our spouses. There are lessons on respecting and honoring our spouse. And, of course, lessons on restoration. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Every couple who is thinking about marriage, every engaged couple, and every married couple, even if you think your marriage is good, needs to read this book. And yes, I’m including the men, too.

Restoration is a Christian Christmas novella, that can be read in any season, by author Robin Densmore Fuson.

This fast-paced, contemporary novella brought back memories of the day my husband proposed to me. As in the story, we have had our ups and downs through marriage. I loved the author’s style of writing, getting quickly to the point of the story. This is a novella well written.

The story is from the POV by both husband and wife. My only complaint is at times I was confused about who was talking.

Restoration is a great read for any couple, no longer how long they have been married. I recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance.

This latest tale from prolific author Robin Fuson encompasses a fairytale marriage through ups and downs.

As with most marriages, secrets, disillusionment, and shame color the relationship. Some secrets are good but some are simple acts of controlling behavior. Rebecca and Kyle can’t see past their rose-colored glasses as they set up housekeeping and become a family. Kyle’s need to keep up the appearance of perfection and Rebecca’s growing disenchantment with his financial behavior may become a deal breaker unless they get help and remember the source of the faith they both profess.

Set in lush Alaska and moving to Florida, Restoration is a romantic story for readers who are intrigued by the long haul; the reality after the initial passion, and the need to be honest and mindful of the foundation on which we build our lives.

Delving into marriage

I've read a number of Robin Fuson's books and like the sweet way she writes. I don't see many books that deal with marriage trouble and restoration in this vein. This isn't about an affair that pulls a couple apart. It's about a catalyst that drives a wedge when it and other problems are not faced. It's also about solutions, facing our problems, and dealing with them and that is its strength. And, of course, it's about love.

Can this marriage be saved?

In the beautiful setting of Alaska, love that starts as a burning fire turns to a simmer without constant care. Restoration is a book about a couple whose fire turns cold over time but are able to rekindle the romance and commitment. How did they do it? Read on.

This book got me. Not only does the author show how marriages can be broken by a variety of things, but she shows the tough road to reconciliation. This book gives hope for extremely tough situations and how God can heal and restore. Beautifully written! I highly recommend this book.
