Take one part tattooed mountain man plus one part awkward curvy girl and you get one humorous, steamy romance.
As a mountain man and a lumberjack, I don’t see people often.
So imagine my surprise when I look up to find four women watching me.
Curvy Felicity is the only one who sticks around to say hello.
That is until she backs into a tree trying to run away.
She’s beautiful and funny and different in the best possible way.
Something inside of me wants to make her mine forever.
She’s staying at the Seiver Forge cabin for the week, so that’s where I’ll go.
I have to have her, and I’ll do whatever it takes to get her.
Bane is book two in The Men Of Devil’s Peak series. These are stand-alone short steamy romance books that feature over the top mountain men finding curvy damsels in distress that they just can’t help but keep to themselves.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Felicity has become disillusioned from her life, she’s a successful pastry chef and although she should be over the moon with how her career is shaping up there are two things that keep her from happiness and that is being alone and no sign of her finding her Mr Right. She is having a girls holiday with her friends hiking on Devil’s Peak when they all come across a true life lumberjack and he is shirtless. And when he turns around and catches sight of her their gazes lock never having felt anything like what she is trapped in his eyes, she’s wishing that what she is seeing is really meant for her but believing that this hunk could only have eyes for her skinny and glamorous friend she is already preparing herself for his rejection. Only that doesn’t come instead she finds herself with an extra dinner guest in their rented cabin and having a night to remember. Is this a fling, a one night stand or the beginning of the biggest adventure of her life, true love?
Bane is living the life he chose, alone on the mountain breathing in solitude. He works for his parents mill and is busy chopping timber when a noise catch’s his attention, it’s then that he locks eyes with Felicity and his world stops and aligns with her, being only her. Needing to spend more time around her he invites himself to dinner at her rented cabin with her friends. Could this date be the date he has waited all his life for, and if so will she be prepared to spend her life with him in their own bubble on his mountain or is she going to leave come Monday?
I really enjoyed this book but I do have a few issues. This ended the same way as the previous book in the series did, abruptly. I am hoping that there is an ending when the series finishes that ties up all their happy ever afters. And I honestly hated her friends, they weren’t friends and broke girl code when they went after men she liked previously. 3.8* read.
Bane and Felicity meet by accident at Devil’s Peak when she and her friends are on a hike in the mountains. Felicity, whose mouth runs a mile-a-minute with her friends, turns shy and nervous around Bane. One of the ladies snaps a picture of the huge shirtless mountain man as he chops wood. When he turns his head to look at them, each woman scampers to the back of their little line, leaving Felicity standing in front of him. She backs away, but walks right into a tree. Then she runs back to her friends who have retreated down the trail out of sight but now stare wide-eyed over her shoulder. As she comments on their cowardice running from one hot guy like that, a deep voice behind her asks, “So you think I’m attractive?”
Bane Hargrove is definitely not shy as he smoothly invites himself over for dinner with the women. Felicity’s friends can’t keep their eyes off him, but Felicity is still nervous and avoids eye contact. He kisses her, to her surprise, and the ladies decide to head to town for some emergency shopping. Then he tells her how impressed he was that she stood up to him. He knows she is afraid now, but he wants to be with her. And she realized she wanted that too. Is this the start to a short-term romance, or maybe something deeper that both of them are looking for?
He may not be conventionally attractive by the traditional Hollywood standards but he is Smexy
Bane is the second book in The Men Of Devil's Peak series and is the story of Felicity and Bane. Felicity and her three best friends, who were also sorority sister's together when they were in college, have some to Devil's Peak in Alaska for a vacation. This group lives in Santa Monica, California and usually goes somewhere with a beach for vacations but this time Felicity wanted an adventure and talked the others into it. They have rented a lodge and are out hiking up Devil's Peak when they come upon a shirtless mountain man chopping a tree in a clearing. He is big, bearded, muscled, and all kinds of sexy swinging his big axe. When they get caught watching him the ladies make a quick turn and basically run, leaving Felicity standing there to try and make a joke and apologize. She finally finds the others down the trail and hiding behind trees. What she was not expecting was to have the mountain man follow her and then ask her out on a date. The man is Bane Hargrove and that name means a lot in Alaska. His father started Hargrove Lumber and the family has money. But Bane works hard for the family business which includes getting trees for the mill. When he first spots the women, as he knew they were there before they knew he was since they were making a lot of noise, he is immediately attracted to the curvy beauty. At twenty-seven, Bane has remained in the small town he grew up in. He lives in a cabin up on the mountain and likes his life. The only thing missing is a woman he can call his own. With none in the general area Bane is not about to let the opportunity to meet a woman that piques his interest. What happens next is fun, humorous, sweet, sexy and entertaining. Be warned that if you are looking for accurate details in this story don't. There are so many thing wrong that you just have to forget about it and instead just sit back and enjoy. I mean who goes and chops trees down with an axe for the family sawmill.
Felicity and three of her friends, decide to travel to Alaska, on a vacation, to see what Alaska has to offer. In their hike on Devil's Peak, they run into Bane, chopping wood for the family business. Felicity has a problem with her mouth running away from her which puts her in awkward situations. When Bane is invited to dinner, at the place the four women are staying at, he knows that he can't blow his chance of finding out what he felt with Felicity when they met on the trail. This is a hot and fast read of two people who complete each other the first time they meet. This is book #2 of "The Men of Devil's Peak" series. Enjoy!
Sweet & romantic short story of love at first sight as Bane and Felicity meet by accident at Devil’s Peak. Felicity is shy and nervous while Bane is straightforward and says what he thinks. He invites himself over for dinner where the ladies are staying and sits thru an always dinner. Felicity’s friends are either flirting or staring at him, while Felicity is so nervous she can’t look at Bane. But once the other ladies leave, the fun begins!

Another great mountain man romance from Kelsie. Felicity and her friends are visiting Alaska when they comes across Bane. Bane is a mountain man lumberjack who only has eyes for Felicity. These two together are funny, a little awkward, and high heat. Felicity was never one to get the guy, but all of that could change with Bane if she would give him a chance.

HILARIOUS HOT MOUNTAIN MAN INSTA-LOVE ROMANCE ! I NEED ME A DEVIL'S PEAK MOUNTAIN MAN! 5 ⭐
Endearing heroine. Hot as hell mountain man. Loving, meddling friends. Hilarious banter. Alaskan bush. Insta love at it's best. This short sexy pick me up quickie series is just what I needed. I want to move to Devil's Peak! 5 big stars ! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the 2nd in this series I’ve read. I am not reading anymore. I can’t stand the lack of closure to the stories. They all must be like this. This is like having coitus and only one person finishes and it isn’t you. So disappointing. The story was decent. I was sucked in. I was invested. Now I’m just annoyed. I hate this type of ending or lack there of.
I liked the stories leading man but didn't care for the leading lady much. The story doesn't really give you closure to their definite happy ending. There needed to be more to it.
This was a sweet, romantic, steamy, fun to read story without drama and with a HEA. Bane and Felicity met in the Alaskan Wilderness and fell head over heels for each other. With the not subtle help of her friends they got their HEA😍😍😍
Felicity is on vacatition wiht hers friends, they are in woods when they come across a handsom lumberjack. so sexy....and he is interested in her... will she find the strengh to go to date with him??

This is the second book in this series The Men of Devils Peak. It is a fast paced, instalove story of Bane and Felicity. Their story was entertaining, the characters fit well together. A fun read.
I like the short and sweet (aka hot) mountain man stories. It's funny how Felicity and her friends are hiking in Alaska when the idea of staying hit her. Kind of what happened to Bane just before they met. Kismet. It's a good book. :)
This next installment in the series is the story of Felicity and Dash. It's too short to say more, but if you're looking for a steamy can read in one setting book, give this series a go.
