My issue with this is that it is...quite appropriative of the spirituality of other cultures and white washes them. Im South Asian and grew up with Hinduism, and Hindu esotericism...this just left a bad taste in my mouth honestly. If you want to learn about Hinduism...learn from an actual Indian person.

I really liked this book. It covers goddesses from three different parthenons and gives lots of background information on them without being so dense that it would be a nightmare to read. The book also has a glossary in the back for those who are unfamiliar with certain words. I would love to purchase a physical copy of this book, so I can use it for reference in the future.

I found the descriptions of the various goddesses and deities fascinating, and I did enjoy the guided visualisations. I also loved the ideas for the baths, which is definitely something I'll put it into practice. I did worry I'd find the book a bit "woo-woo", and some of it does err on that side of things, but you don't have to be really into all the visualisation and goddess stuff to appreciate the practicalities of the book. I enjoyed and would definitely read again.

Very interesting and straightforward information for beginners. The first ten goddesses I was not familiar with at all so I learned a lot. But the author did Artemis so dirty, in my opinion, by only relating a connection to her to manifesting weight loss. That is not it.

Invoke the Goddess by Kala Trobe is a great read for anyone looking to learn about several Egyptian, Hindu and Greek Goddesses. She has chosen 5 goddess from each religion to focus the book on. The author gives background information on each as well as providing information on invoking these goddesses through visualizations and exercises specific to each. The author is able to do this through easy to read, good flowing chapters. I particularly enjoyed and will return back to the reference list of goddess functions the author provides. There is also a glossary of terms that I found helpful in providing definitions to terms that I've heard but haven't really understood before. This book proves to have a great variety of reference materials compiled into it, including a recommendation the author makes for an invocation to Hecate. This is a book I will find myself going back to for reference over and over again. Many thanks to Llewellyn Worldwide and Netgalley for this ARC (all opinions expressed in this review are authentically mine).

I really enjoyed reading this book! It was captivating and beautifully written.

This is perfect for someone who is interested in goddesses. Before reading this book I didn’t know what a ‘invocation’ was but now having tried some of the visualizations and exercises. I would really recommend it.

I tried the phobia visualization before going out for the day. Believe it or not, I am very afraid of escalators. However, I felt much more powerful after doing the invocation/visualization and went down a very steep escalator in a shopping centre.

The visualizations in this book are interesting and powerful. I loved reading the background history of the goddess too.

I will be buying a hard copy book of this once it comes out. A wonderful and inspiring read!

Thank you to Llewelyn and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for a honest review.

Kala Trobe possesses an impressive history in the study and practice of ancient religions, and she conveys this knowledge by guiding modern seekers toward a variety of relevant ways they may revive those traditions in their lives. From practical matters to personal goals, Kala articulates in this volume the time-honored qualities and spiritual capabilities the female deities are empowered to resolve.
Insightful background and evocative meditations on the goddess legends of preeminent figures in Hindu, Egyptian, and Greek religious canons guide the reader to supportive practices for solving a myriad of personal issues. They are true “inner journeys” (as described by the author) that may bring the seeker to the profound experience of incorporating the divine images that have been too long absent from our inner lives.

Honestly, this book was okay. Neither good or bad ... just okay. Nothing I read within was anything I haven't read a thousand times before in various other books in the genre. So while, it might be enlightening and/or engaging for a beginner in the pagan/Wicca religion, or for one looking to sate an initial curiosity, it's actually quite boring for someone more advanced in the knowledge.

The editing and grammar were fine. Nothing stood out or detracted from the information. The flow of the information was probably the best thing about it as it wasn't dense at all.

I like the cover.

Would I recommend? Probably not.

This is a well-deserved researched book about the goddesses if the different parthenons. All come with the goddesse's background story, character traits, exercises, visualizations and more.

This book is for you if you'd like to form a connection with one or more of the goddesses or simply get more information about them.

Unfortunately the ebook comes with formatting issues like left-out letters and sometimes no paragraphs so it's hard to read.

Thank you Netgalley and Llewellyn for providing me with an eARC.

I am not sure quite what to day about book. It is interesting as you learn about the different goddess but at the same time it comes off a little in your face with how your life should be and who you should be. This might be a better read for others who are searching hunting and trying to discover who they are and the power they hold.
It might work for those who are struggling with where they fit in the world but this book might not be right for everyone.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher Llewellyn Publications for the advance copy of Kala Trobe Invoke the Goddess
