It’s her destiny to break the seal, and his to ensure she survives…
On break from college, Isobel is looking forward to making her own decisions while her parents are overseas. When she returns home, she discovers it’s no longer the welcoming place it used be and the ancient window her parents installed is more than just a beautiful piece of history.
Isobel has locked away the strange power that wells inside of her, terrified of what might happen if she acknowledges it. She dreams of places she’s never been and times she was never alive to see. As her dreams grow more intense and things spiral out of control, Isobel begins to question her sanity. Desperate for answers, she may have to open herself to the power that’s waiting inside of her in order to find them.
Damien is ancient, even for a dark angel, and he knows the demon who hunts Isabel is a formidable foe; he’s watched the battle play out too many times before. Haunted by past failures, he’s determined to keep Isobel alive as she unravels a past that spans centuries and prepares to face the demon that wants her dead.

I really enjoyed reading this book. From the very beginning, I was hooked. I found the story very engaging and hard to put down. I liked the author's style of writing and found it easy to read.
I liked how the book started- you're at a beheading which turns out to be a nightmare. You also find out that Isobel has some sort of powers, but what exactly you don't know. This air of mystery is what initially kept me reading, although later on it was the sheer enjoyment of the story.
I liked that the majority of the story is told from Isobel's POV but every now and then, there is segments from the perspective of Damien. I thought it made reading interesting. At the beginning of the book, when you hadn't been introduced to Damien's character, I thought it added a bit of a sinister element to the story as he is just some stranger guy watching her. However, as the story continued, I found his part intriguing as the two characters know different things and are feeling different emotions. You got to see Damien's love of Isobel.
I enjoyed reading about the spooky/creepy happenings in the house and the detailed depictions of the hallucinations Xpar was causing Isobel to have. I also liked that Xpar wasn't an actual physical being but some demonic entity trapped in a window. I liked the unknown in terms of what he was going to do next and towards the end, the uncertainty of whether or not they would achieve their goal of banishing him.
I thought the ending was sweet. It was a nice way to finish the story for the characters after the sinister events that happened.
I would defiantly recommend reading this if you are a fan of paranormal books.

This was an engaging read; I managed to finish it in just a few hours.
The story begins with Isobel; a college girl going home for the summer. As soon as she gets there, she notices that things are not quite right at her home. Her parents installed a beautiful glass window which somehow makes her feel uneasy. Little by little, she starts seeing bizarre and terrifying things. As time goes on, she finds that her hot neighbor knows more than he originally said.
The beginning really sucks you in, and it was by far my favorite part of the book. As I said, I finished it in just a few hours.
It's a great indie read. Check it out if you get a chance.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal).
This book was a bit hit and miss with me. I liked some parts but I found other parts annoying.
The main character is a channel called Isobel, she has been brought up without parental guidance to teach her what to do with her power. She shares a room with another channel when she's at college. I found Isobel really quite annoying as a main character, she didn't ever seem to know what she was doing. I also thought that her relationship with Damien was quite odd as there was no explanation of the soul mate thing- it seemed like nothing more than two teenagers finding love for the first time. Isobel also had a kind of hero complex, putting herself in danger to save others but when she has no idea what is happening and why it made me scream at the silly silly girl.
The secondary characters include Damien her dark Angel soul mate, Lucien her friend from many many lives ago and Amelia her channel room mate from college. The only issue I had with these characters were the nature of their paranormal abilities, I felt like there was no real explanation into 'dark angels' and what I did learn I thought was forced.
The pacing of the story was also an issue I felt as I didn't think there was a middle. I felt it went from the beginning of the story where Isobel returns home for summer and meets Damien to the end where the is a big fight/ destruction of her house with nothing else to the story other than the introduction of a few new characters.
The storyline was slow and uneventful with very little happening along the way. I felt the romance between Isobel and Damien could have been better with just a little more description and more build up.

I thought this book had a great story but I didn't care for the main character. It was actually really hard for me to finish the book. After getting through half of the book; there were several times that I just wanted to stop reading all together because Isobel (main character) was extremely frustrating.
Throughout the book she is not the smartest girl. She lacks a lot of common sense. The fate of people's lives are in her hands and she's too scared to help save them. This turmoil in her is really repetitive in the book. I would have liked the book so much more if she actually cared more about humanity instead of being a girl who is afraid. There are many times where the truth of reality is being told to her bluntly and she will still shy away. There are also some decisions that she makes that seem to always put her life at risk when she knows she is the key to something major; there lies the lack of common sense. These are the reasons why the book discouraged me.
Other than that, the writing style is very easy to read. I liked all the other characters, they were by far more intriguing. Overall, I thought this book was ok. It's not for me but I can see how others can enjoy it.
This is not a genre I read a lot of, but the premise of this book intrigued me, and I'm glad I read it. Although I had to suspend a little disbelief at the idea that Isoebel's parents would leave her alone for the entire summer while they traveled to Dubai, once I did that, I found the book very enjoyable.
Isobel is not your typical college student, as she possesses extraordinary powers. Unfortunately, she has has yet to fully accept the gift she has, nor does she know how to channel her powers. Fortunately, she has a guardian angel looking out for her. From his first introduction as Isobeel's mysterious neighbor to his reveal as her angel and soul mate, Damian was a delightful character and the bond that formed between them as Isobel fights the evil lurking in her house was a believable one. Damian's fellow angel friends also provided some comedy elements along the way and the end result is an entertaining read.
bound-by-time-a-d-trosperOne word to describe this book, intense. Maybe two, intensely amazing. Even better, intensely amazing filled with hot dark angels! Yes, once more, author A.D. Trosper is letting our imaginations run wild with her new paranormal/romance book Bound by Time.
The story starts off with Isobe Moore, a college student going home for the summer to look over her parents house while they’re away on a business trip. Her stepmother, Elizabeth, has recently remodeled their home and in the process acquired a beautiful stained glass window which makes Isobel uneasy. At her arrival, she finds out that new neighbors have moved next door. The house has been bought by an elderly man and his young nephew. After her parents leave, Isobel stats having trouble sleeping due to nightmares and a malicious voice that haunts her. Things get worse when she encounters a dead body and a bloody scene in her kitchen. Horrified she screams and to her surprise her next door neighbor comes to her rescue. From that point on, Isobel learns that she is an old soul who has lived through several lives trying to vanquish the evil spirit trapped in the stained glass window that is now in her house. Damien DeLuca is her dark angel and throughout time they have always found each other to try and stop the evil from escaping its prison with no success, until now. This time around, Isobel is more powerful than ever and she will embrace the energy to protect her loved ones.
I was really fascinated by this story. I will admit that I didn’t know what to expect of Bound by Time since the previous books that I had read by author A.D. Trosper were about colorful dragons and their riders, but I was really taken by surprise. Bound by Time and its characters caught me instantly in their story. Isobel demonstrated to be a strong female character who hardly hesitated in taking on the role of heroine and protecting those around her. She always waited for the right moment to attack her enemies making the angels’ hearts skip a beat. Damien, oh Damien. Who doesn’t want a dark angel by their side? He has always fought through time to be there, help to protect Isobel from the evil Xapar, even if it means using all of his power. He won’t let any harm come to her and lose her again.
There’s romance and friendship in this story. A very handsome and comical dark angel is Lucian, who I just adored throughout the story. He is always ready for action. Then we have Rose, Isaac, Amelia and Elijah, who help Isobel remember her past lives and the information she needs to defeat Xapar. Something I like about author A.D. Trosper’s writing are her fight scenes. They’re always intense and full of action. She definitely knows how to leave a reader in suspense.
“Keep her safe, or I’ll rip your wings off and stuff them down your throat.” -Damien to Lucian.
“I knew if you came back you would chew my feathers over that.” -Lucian to Damien.
Overall, Bound by Time proved to be another great book by author A.D. Trosper who definitely knows what her fans want to read because she’s a fan of stories herself. If you’re in the mood for some angels fighting demons, this is the book for you.
*OBS would like to thank the author for supplying a free copy of this title in exchange for an honest review*
I should admit from the very start that A.D. Trosper is one of my favorite indies, and I was more than thrilled to read her newest title. 'Bound By Time' is a beautiful, deep paranormal romance, with a very strong basis in horror. I was dragged into the story, finding myself devouring the book in every spare, waking moment. The details were realistic, and it seemed as though I were smack dab in the middle of the story instead of a mere bystander watching it go on. My skin crawled. My heart thumped. I gasped, laughed, and cried.
I have read the book twice. Each time, it took me only a few days to read the book in it's entirety. Not because it's short, and I wouldn't call it light either, but because I literally could not pull myself away. I lost a lot of sleep over this book, but it was so worth it.
The characters... oh how I love the characters! What I love most about A.D. Trosper's writing is her characters. They easily feel like friends I've known my whole life. I can SEE them clearly in my head as I read. Their personalities are unique, and develop naturally. I just can't even find the words to portray how realistic these characters are.
I love Isobel, of course. She's strong, unique, and a book worm (just like me!). But she's not unbelievably strong. She's realistic, too. She has panic attacks in moments of intense stress – something I can easily relate to – but she pushes through them to come out stronger each time. Then there's Damien... oh, I'm in love with him. I am. He's protective, romantic, hunky, and yet... he's realistic too! The author didn't paint an unrealistically flawless macho man. He, and Isobel, come complete with flaws that make them who they are. The supporting cast were right in the forefront of the story, as well, and I fell in love with all of them.
I could continue to ramble on about how much I loved this book.... and on... and on. But let's get to the point. Would I recommend this book? YES! (I'm yelling this at you, by the way.) I recommend it to people who love horror, paranormal romance, or romance in general. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a well written, realistically portrayed story which immediately captures your attention and keeps it until the very ending. I was left craving more, and I know you will be too. You won't regret reading this book.
A.D. Trosper possesses a vivid imagination and translates her thoughts to paper with precision. Her Dragon’s Call series is proof of that, however, this latest book leaves no room for doubt about her writing skills.
The story was unique and different and the amount of research to bring it to life must have been astounding. The character descriptions were on target and some of the lighter scenes made them seem all the more real. The interesting take on the paranormal and a realm humans cannot see was great.
The relationship between the characters was told well, though I would have enjoyed more of a connection between Isobel and her parents. A few of the scenes seemed rushed and the parents, police and other “adult” figures were conveniently absent or unaware of what was happening (as tends to be the case in a lot of YA novels), although Trosper did come up with a unique way of “handling” some of this (which I don’t want to give away due to it being a spoiler).
The time travel and romance were beautifully written and descriptive. Once again, A.D. Trosper showcased her numerous talents in this novel.
Bound by Time is actually the first young-adult romance novel I’ve ever read, but due to the paranormal aspect of the book, it caught my interest. The story moves along day by day with the main character slowly coming to terms with her special abilities. The pace is kept evenly throughout the book with interesting back-story being told through the use of nightmares and haunting illusions, which were some of my favorite scenes in the book. Of course, the use of supernatural figures coupled with Isobel’s abilities only makes the story more entertaining. The relationship between Isobel and Damien is interesting due to their connection, and the side characters only bring more dimension to the tale. The ending chapters are my favorite of the entire book as they are full of action and suspense and pound into an exciting conclusion that leaves you wanting more. I look forward to seeing where this series goes. The writing style is solid with good dialogue. The scenes are setup nicely, and the imagination flourishes during the more haunting scenes. Overall good read. If you enjoy young-adult stories full of romance and the supernatural, then I would recommend Bound by Time.
I was given a free copy from the Lovers of Paranormal group in exchange for an honest review.
One of the things i loved about this book was that from the start you get the sense of mystery and suspense the book will hold. the beginning wasn't slow or dragged on forever before the events leading to the main plot happened, so that already gets the reader hooked. The idea of a demon being trapped in a window was simple and yet the author managed to create a whole history behind it and turned it into this complex and intriguing plot. sometimes the book actually gave me chills...
I was a bit confused about Damien in the beginning since there was only one paragraph from his POV before it instantly shifted to Isobel's. but i loved how their love story evolved-it wasn't unrealistic, it was a sweet YA romance. As the book progressed i have to say i thought Damien's protective side was so sweet. As for Iosbel, she wasn't clingy or irritating. I loved seeing her character evolve from this petrified and haunted girl into this woman who was not afraid to die to save her loved ones.
Thankfully the ending was perfect. Overall highly recommended book for paranormal lovers!
I love a good romance, especially one with a solid back story and foundation. Bound By Time is this and so much more! I've read A.D. Trosper's fantasy series (which is phenomenal) and appreciated this new venture into paranormal romance. So much of the author's brilliant storytelling prowess remains, while at the same time this story felt more personal and real to me since it takes place in our own world. Isobel is a relatable heroine who finds herself at the center of otherworldly chaos, struggling to believe any of this can possibly be happening to her. Damien sweeps in and is so much more than just the bad boy next door. I absolutely loved their tension and interactions, and the beauty of their love story drew me in. The supporting cast is also strong and compelling, supplying humor and dark mystery to the story. I also really enjoyed the history that went into the back story of this book. It added so many dimensions and rounded out what was such a unique concept for a paranormal story. Kudos to Trosper for another incredible tale!
I absolutely loved this book! A. D. Trosper is an extremely talented writer with an amazing ability to elicit strong emotions from her readers. She has a way with imagery that pulls you into the story and allows you to experience it as if you were one of her characters.
This is not a book you want to pick up when you have just a few minutes to read because you won't want to put it down once you get started. There are so many scenes full of creepy events that I actually got goosebumps more than once. While there is a romantic element to the book it definitely takes a back seat to the action/horror element in the story. And because of that, I feel like this is a book that can be thoroughly enjoyed by both girls AND boys. In fact, as soon as I finished reading it, I recommended it to my 13 year old son.
There is quite a bit of gore in this book but I never felt that it went too far (as in gore just for the sake of gore.) I always felt like it was needed to help the reader fully grasp the impact that the events were having on Isobel.
Isobel looks forward to a quiet summer at home while her parents are overseas, but the power, the “gift,” that led to her biological mother’s death is growing stronger, invading her dreams and unsettling her days. When she finally gets home, Isobel feels powers beyond her own – malevolent powers – trying to reach her. When she can’t ignore these powers any longer, she is forced to awaken to her destiny and join the angels whose fortune is to fight by her side.
I’ve been a big fan of A.D. Trosper’s dragon series and was interested to see how she’d handle moving to another time and place. I’m pleased to report Trosper gets better all the time. She creates strong plots and peoples her stories with strong characters. The conventions of the worlds she builds are well thought through and creatively executed.
Generally speaking, I don’t read YA novels, but Trosper makes it a pleasure to enter her world. "Bound by Time" does not disappoint.
The beginning of this book i thought was the best part of the story. It pushes off pretty well and you're not left waiting for the action and suspense.Of course you're not waiting for the suspense because there isn't any. I have a couple problems with book the first of which being the main character. I thought she was weak and prone to acts of stupidity. I don't want to spoil anything so i won't elaborate but trust on this one. Also i didn't like the way the point of view switched every other paragraph. This took out the already nonexistent suspense between Isobel and Damien. Which brings up the last problem: Isobel and Damien. I felt their relationship was severely underdeveloped and i also found Damien extremely annoying. I will end by saying that my favorite part of this story was the bad guy in the window. Thats just awesome. I have received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)
***I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the Goodreads group,Lovers of Paranormal, LoP.***
This book was quite engaging, and I ended up reading it much faster than I thought as I could not put it down. It is rare that I get creeped out reading a book, but I will admit that I had to summon the courage to make the journey upstairs last night after reading a particularly disturbing chapter involving demons, bleeding corpses with gouged eyes and angry ghosts. I was hoping for a bit more in terms of romance in this story. What was there was very PG. Though I guess they were busy trying to stay alive and save the world and all. The ending (as in last few pages) wasn't my cup of tea, but I think most people would love it. Overall a great story with an interesting take on angels.
My Review: I was thrilled to see a new book by this author. Granted it is in a different genre than her other novels. I was not disappointed however as her excellent writing skill crosses the genres well. This paranormal romance gives you everything you could want. The romance part is well done and the twist on the paranormal is original. I absolutely love the detail of this book. Everything is researched so well. I love a book that get me on the internet to see if the facts are true only to find out that they are. Then I get into more research and actually learn something real from a fictional novel. This is a must read book I highly recommend it. It gets 5 stars.
Isobel. Damien. A story of pure love transcended through the centuries.
Angels. Demons. Powers stronger than humanly imagined fight for supremacy. Who will win? Is the question we always ask. But through the centuries we see the outcome of the past struggles. Will the present one end in tragedy also?
Ms. Trosper switches from one point of view to another mid page, taking us from Isobel’s thoughts to Damien’s in a flawless maneuver to let the reader get close to both characters.
I won’t summarize the story like most reviewers do, but I’ll tell you this, if you don’t have a few hours set aside, don’t start to read the book because you won’t be able to put it down.
Loved this captivating story by A.D. Trosper. As a huge fan of her Dragon's Call fantasy series, I knew I was in for a good read when I started it. This first book in the author's new YA paranormal series introduces two compelling characters who have struggled for lifetimes to be together. I really enjoyed how the author wove elements of religion and history into the story. The romance was sweet and believable and I look forward to the next book in the series!
Bound by Time is the Paranormal Romance novel we all need in our lives! Trosper was some how able to perfectly blend the scary, gruesome, and sometimes deadly happenings of demonic encounters with wonderfully written romance.
Isobel is a 19 year old girl coming home to spend the summer at her parent’s house after her freshman year of college. But her life is definitely stranger than your average teenagers. Her mother was killed by some mysterious power that her dad refuses to discuss, a power that Isobel fears is growing inside herself and she fights to keep buried within. Pair that with the reoccurring nightmares that she has had for years and her life is anything but normal. Her dad and step mom, however, are going on a business trip for six months, which leaves Isobel home alone for the summer. Being alone doesn’t normally bother her…that is…until she comes home to find that her step mom has installed an old stain glass window during her renovations. The window, although beautiful, makes Isobel extremely uneasy and she feels as if she is being watched by it. Things only get scarier and more out of her control when a mysterious voice begins to whisper at her and her nightmares begin to increase and manifest in other ways. The only help she seems to find is the young new neighbor next door that her father begs her to avoid. He somehow seems to appear everywhere she goes and be there whenever she needs someone. Isobel’s life begins to spiral out of control and she relents to discover the truth before she truly goes insane.
Can Isabel discover the truth? Who is this mysterious and handsome neighbor? Will she finally learn the truth of her mother’s death? What about her powers, nightmares, and the crazy creepy window?
You are just going to have to read Bound by Time to find out.
There are so many amazing aspects to this novel. Trosper’s world building is top notch, her magic well thought out and realized, her characters absolutely fleshed out and believable, her romance both sweet and steamy. And I cannot rave enough about all the awesome little details that she adds that make her stories truly special. One of my favorite aspects of this book in particular is all the little snippets of Latin that Trosper sprinkled throughout the novel, because as she put it “Damien informed her that he spoke Latin.” Trosper is absolutely fabulous at adding those little pieces of somethin’ somethin’ that takes her story to the top tier of awesome stories.
This was a deliciously creepy novel filled with truly scary nightmares, demonic entities, the paranormal, learning to accept and embrace one’s self and perfectly written romance. I absolutely LOVE this book and can’t wait to delve into Bound by Legend! There is something truly delightful in the combination of creepy paranormal thriller and truly sweet romance and Trosper did an amazing job balancing both themes.
19 year old Isobel lost her birth mother to a mysterious power, a power that Isobel fears she has too but tries hard to suppress it. Arriving home for the holidays, she is looking forward to the summer alone in the house while her parents are away. However, now the house feels strange and ominous due to the fact that a antique window has been installed, and although it is beautiful it instills a sense of dread in Isobel but she doesn't know why. Coupled with the fact that she is having terrible nightmares of a man being beheaded in a place she has never been and a time before she was born, makes her feel she is going insane. And who is the mysterious new neighbour who seems to be following her wherever she goes or helps her when she needs it. Is Isobel going crazy or is something more sinister going on?
Now I don't normally get creeped out by books but this story just got under my skin with the ominous tone of what Isobel is experiencing when she is near the window and the dreams she is having, the intensity that is created by the author literally had my heart thumping in anticipation of what would happen next.
Isobel in particular was a great character for me, her vulnerability when she doesn't know what's going on is very compelling reading which make her retable as a person. Then as she learns more about herself, her dreams and her power she really starts to flourish.
Damien was another character I loved, charming, looks you could swoon for and very, very protective, (no spoilers) but the fact he's there to help Isobel when she really needs someone just melted my heart.
So yeah simply put I adored this book from beginning to end and have got to read the second one in this series. And if you haven't yet read this gem I strongly urge you do so 😁
I love Trosper's Dragon Call series and her new Raven Daughter series is entirely fabulous. So I thought I'd try this one while waiting for the 3rd Raven Daughter book to come out. A paranormal romance, it is driven by an intriguing world view where human channels and angels work together to keep demons from invading Earth. Isobel is a channel who has been fighting all her life to keep the power that surges within her hidden; a power that often shows her other places and other times, making her question her own sanity. Now she must use her power or die. Damien is the dark angel assigned to protect her. He has failed too often in the past to allow the demons seeking Isobel to win this time, but can he break through her refusal to use her power in time to save them both? An enjoyable read start to finish. Now on to Bound By Legend for me...
I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. I found this author by reading the second book in the series in the anthology Other Worlds. This in turn brought me to discover the first.
I found the characters well developed, and I loved the concept of the world in which the story takes place. It was a different take on dark angels, with them and their channels fighting demons. Also, I liked the idea of remembering past lives and the Soul mates aspect.
Overall, I found a new author I'm going to have to read more of, and re-read the second book. Especially since I know Lucian is one of the main characters. This is a upper YA book, with some situations not appropriate for younger readers. I loved it.
Soul bound through time." Audio version This was very good but it started a bit slow, it got better. This audio book was given to me for free at my request from the publisher or author or narrator and I provided this unbiased review. Reasons I enjoyed this book: Action-packed, Easy-to-read, Great world building, Haunting, Happily Ever After, Wonderful characters.
Me and Isobel don't really see eye to eye about a lot of things. I find her and her story a bit too cheesy to be honest. It makes me about sad cuz I usually love A.D Trosper's way of writing and her books. But hey, I guess you can't like everything? Anyway, I gave it a three star rating since it's so we'll written and some parts of it really drew me in
I really love this plot, the print is way better then the slow audio version. I had to speed up the audio just to read the book. Its worth the read and has a fun series of twists and turns. I was given this free copy, in return for my unbiased review
I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal) Thank you to the Author for allowing me to read and review their work.
I give this story 3 stars.. Where do I start? I will have to say there were parts about this story I really liked. I just wish that it didn't take almost 55% to get to a place where I could really begin enjoying the book. Mainly this was because of all the filler details that were unnecessary and did not help move the plot along. It wasn't terrible and there were parts halfway through where the writing became so fluid it was very enjoyable.
I like the concept of this story, there were some original ideas that added to the content. I think what I did not like though was the main character. For most of the story she came across as weak and ditzy but then there were these random times where all of a sudden she was a different person. I don't think there is anything wrong with her being weak by the way, but she needed more redeeming qualities and I think as a personality goes was not as three-dimensional as she could have been. I also found myself frustrated with the switch in POV's without warning. I do not know if this was because of a technical mobi issue or the Author chose not to include some kind of paragraph break or even some kind of symbol to indicate that shift, so jumping in and out of a few POV's was confusing. I think I would have liked to see more build up in the romance. It was too automatic for me its like hey, this is the way things have always been so accept it. I'm purposefully leaving out information so not to have spoilers. I also did not like the ending, it was like hey what do we do next.... I want to say more but I don't want to spoil the story for those of you who want to read it.
In the end these are my opinions and I think that they come a dime a dozen. I encourage you to check the story out for yourself if it peaks your interest and let that be your guide.
Bound by Time turned into a dnf for me. It started out really slow with Isobel’s really boring typical life stuff that I didn’t much care about. Once we got past some of that we have a mysterious stained glass window that is a really old antique that Isobel’s step mother acquired someplace. It apparently feels dark and evil to everyone but the step mother who just thinks it’s beautiful. Then we have Damien who is Isobel’s angel who can protect her from mortal peril but it not allowed to tell her anything about who and what she is until she figures it out on her own. This is where I just couldn’t do it anymore.
The whole idea that this one 19 year old girl is who has to save us from ultimate evil but we aren’t going to tell it anything until she figures it out irritates me; worse we are going to let the ultimate evil have its way with her while she figures it out. The whole plot hinges on the drama of her being set up to fail but no worries she’ll beat all odds manage to figure it all out and this time manage to overcome even though she’s failed now for many lifetimes… Why has she failed? Because the “good” side sets her up to fail and die horribly every time…
I made it 40% of the way through but now I’m moving on.
(I received this eBook in exchange for an honest review. LoP)
I found the novel descriptive, I mean reading it was like watching a movie; I could easily imagine every scene as I was reading it. I loved the beginning with Isobel’s nightmares and fears that seemed so real. But I got bored with the rest of the book. The middle of the story was just about saving Isobel and protecting her and when she was safe, she was asking endless questions which was OK for the first few times but it really gets boring with all the information that others provided. I think it would have been better if there were a few scattered chapters with a flashback to that particular history instead of the heap of direct information about Isobel’s past lives. The ending was also predictable which I think took away the enthusiasm and suspense of the reading process. I mean besides the past, there was no tragedy in the present; no death in the final fight. It was like they were meant to win from the beginning.
