Snapdragon is the prequel novella for Traveler of Heart. The author recommends reading this novella AFTER finishing Traveler of Heart.

In the world she knew before, Daphne Silver had it all.

Perfect kids
Perfect job
Perfect husband

But is any of it real?

After all, a snapdragon has three meanings.

Grace, strength, and deception.

I loved Traveler of heart and this prequel has me completely coming undone. I was so sure I felt one way about how I wanted book 2 to go, but now I am just torn because I love Daphne and Wyatt too. As a mom this book was everything to me. I love Daphne and I am so excited to see where this story goes.

Thank you for the ARC. I loved every minute of it

*screams and giddily kicks legs* THIS BOOK! This book is the Novella and prequel to Traveler of Heart by Elle Kish and I had the pleasure of being an ARC reader! Snapdragon is a perfect addition to the series and I loved everything from the plot, the characters (the dual POV), the writing…just all of it.

Snapdragon explores the background and relationship of Daphne and Wyatt Silver. Daphne, a young woman, falls for Wyatt, the son of one of the most wealthy families in their Florida town…and he may be hiding a royally magical secret 👑🧚. While it seems to be a perfect relationship on the outside, Wyatt always seems to be holding back while Daphne is all in.

Since Traveler of Heart released, I wanted more about Daphne and Wyatt’s courtship, and did this DELIVER. As the story builds, readers will be questioning… is the love between Daphne and Wyatt genuine? Or is she just a means to an end for the Silver Family?

Snapdragon gives us a peek into Daph’s world before the magical artifacts, the fae realms, the puppy dragons, and so much more in Traveler of Heart. Please go check it out and support indie!

The author’s writing really developed nicely this book, and the story seemed to flow from the pages easily (like magic✨). I look forward to continuing with the series to see how things pan out! Congrats Elle!

I immediately knew I had to read Snapdragon after I just finished Traveler of Heart. Snapdragon is a prequel novella and Elle Kish recommends you read it AFTER ToH because there are spoilers!

I have to admit, I wasn't sure how I felt after that ending in ToH. Am I suppose to hate Wyatt? What about Daphne's kids? I have like 100 questions and I'm stressed out (can you tell I'm a mom?) lol I had no idea what to expect with Snapdragon, but my first hope was I'd get at least once answer to a question- How am I suppose to feel about Wyatt?

Yall..... WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO THINK? I loved this novella but it made things so much more complicated in my head when it comes to my feelings on the men in Daphne's life hahahaha. I promise I'm not going to write spoilers but I loved getting Wyatt's POV in this novella. It really helped seeing why things happened they way they did and now I want a book 2 even more!

If you recall where the cliff hanger from Traveler of Heart leaves us, you can’t help but want to learn more about Daphne.

I’m not sure what it is about Elle’s writing that makes her books so easy to read that you’ll find yourself not wanting to put it down. This is no exception. In this Novella, you’ll find some answers and you’ll also learn some interesting stuff about Daph’s past that will be curious to see play out in the next book.

If you’re a mom, you’ll relate even more to the main character whether it’s friendships or relationships, especially after kids. I am definitely excited for the next book 😭 I need to know what happens even more now.

Thanks to Elle Kish and Booked with the Emilys for the gifted copy of this ARC!

SNAPDRAGON, while a prequel to TRAVELER OF HEART, is meant to be read *after* TRAVELER OF HEART... otherwise you're going to see some major spoilers! I love that this moved through the timeline of Daphne and Wyatt's relationship and gave us a cohesive backstory. A really solid novella!

Short Synopsis:
SNAPDRAGON is a companion prequel that takes place before the events of Traveler of Heart. I can’t give a full synopsis without revealing events from book one, but it’s Daphne’s story before she meets the magical world.

My Thoughts:
This novella was SOOOOO GOOD. Daphne’s backstory was so enlightening. I had a couple ah-ha moments where things from Traveler of Heart clicked. And a specific moment I was so angry (that was the point). SNAPDRAGON had me connecting to our main character even more. Elle’s writing was beautiful. I had a lot of moments I was chuckling. And I’m even more excited for the next installment than I already was.

If you haven’t started this series, I highly recommend it.

I loved Traveler of Heart and Silas, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with a prequel to Daphne’s magical adventure. Snapdragon gives you a better glimpse into Wyatt and Daphne’s love story. I would say this short prequel novella is a must-read and can be read either before or after Traveler of Heart.

We don’t learn much about Wyatt in Traveler of Heart, so getting his POV in the novella clears up any questions about him and where their relationship was at the time of the “car crash.” I’m anxious to see how the series will go because Elle has already created two loving male characters that will be incredibly difficult for Daphne to choose between. I can’t wait to read more into the story and find out what happens!

Elle Kish has created a fascinating world with “Snapdragon”, the prequel to her Debut Novel “Traveler of Heart”. I throughly enjoyed reading it and learning the back stories to the main characters. At the same time learning more about the backstory of the secondary characters was really interesting and adds depth to the series moving forward. The one thing I wish for is if we were given more…more connections, more tension, more relationships between the FMC and the MMCs side of the family. At points the writing felt rushed when I just wanted more!

If you are a fan of Traveler of Heart, or a fan of magic, connected worlds, heartfelt love, Fae and witches, this is definitely the book (series) for you!!

Diving back into the world Elle set up in Traveler of Heart, I was really excited to get more of the backstory between Daphne and Wyatt and it did not disappoint.

Gah! I have so many feelings and now my allegiance keeps jumping back and forth between Wyatt and Silas when I finished Traveler of Heart I was so steadfast in what I side I was on.

Either way, this story makes me EVEN MORE excited for the future books in the series because I just have to know what happens next!

Thank you so much to Elle for this advanced copy! I can’t wait for everyone to read it!

Wow!! I was so nervous going back in time after leaving off on the cliffhanger of Traveler of Heart. Yet, I am so glad I did. Getting to know the story behind Daphne and Wyatt is essential to moving forward in the TOH series. A lot of puzzle pieces from the first book have come together, and getting to see Wyatt’s POV opens up a whole new path. I am so exited to see where this series goes, and to see what direction Daphne’s heart goes to. Great job with this one Elle, it was a quick- hard to put down read, yet so insightful.

I was absolutely obsessed with TOH and given the opportunity to jump back in this world I didn’t hesitate. I tried to read it slowly to savor Snapdragon, but given that it was a novella and I couldn’t put it down, I devoured it in mere hours.
I related to Daphne so much and it was great getting duel POVs to uncover more information about characters from TOH. I think I’ll now have to re-read TOH now that I have more background.
Elle Kish’s writing is pure poetic and I’ll be anxiously awaiting book #2.

I was initially skeptical of a prequel with that cliff hanger of an ending for Traveler of Heart, but I think this novella fit perfectly into to set us up for the next book. I really enjoyed getting a piece of Daphne and Wyatt’s background, setting up their relationship and how it came to be. I’m so interested to see where this will go next!

I’m left with even more questions and can’t wait for book two to hopefully learn what I’m curious about!
It was interesting learning more from Wyatt’s perspective, however a lot was left to be discovered later (I hope).
This was an interesting prequel and I will be first in line for book two!

this is a nice little prequel novella that gives some backstory and answers some questions left after the cliffhanger of the first book! I’m definitely intrigued to find out the full story from Wyatt in the sequel when we get back to where the first book left off 👀 At this point, I’m not sure who I should be rooting for! 🙈

Snapdragon is a prequel Novella in Elle Kish's Traveler of Heart series. In this story we get some of the answers we were craving after the cliffhanger at the end of Traveler of Heart. A few gaps are filled in, and some fantastic background information is obtained. It was fun to hear from both young Daphne and Wyatt's POV. (Still 100% team Silas, though!)

I don't want to say too much in order to avoid spoiling Traveler of Heart for anyone who hasn't read it yet. Which I highly recommend, especially before jumping into this one.

So far, I've really enjoyed this series and Elle's beautiful storytelling. I can't wait for the next one to come out!

More detailed review to come, but initial thoughts:

I was an ARC reader for Traveler of Heart and immediately fell in love with the way Elle Kish writes. The characters and world that she created connected with a lot of things in my own life.

I loved getting to see the lead-up to TOH through Snapdragon. It gave a lot of really important information and a perspective I absolutely wanted to see - Wyatt’s. I cannot wait for the second book in the series, given the information we were provided in this prequel. I have so many questions and cannot wait to see what is in store for Daphne!

I loved this cutie little novella! After reading Traveler of Heart I found myself praying that we would get Wyatt and Daphne's backstory and here it is! This novella really helped me sort things out with my feelings towards Wyatt, as well as giving vital back story to continue on with this series! You definitely have to read this one to proceed.

I loved seeing their love story unfold! I won't go into too many details because I don't wanna spoil it, but that renaissance fair scene in particular... perfection! It left me feeling unsure about the feelings I was so sure about after finishing TOH and I love that. I'm beyond ecstatic to see where Daphne and Wyatt's journeys take us come book 2! RUN! Go read this series now!

I was lucky enough to be an ARC reader for Snapdragon, a novella and prequel to Traveler of Heart, and wow—this story took me by surprise in the best way!

This prequel gave fascinating insight into Wyatt and Daphne’s relationship, leaving me questioning everything. Is Wyatt truly good or bad? He’s so sweet in this story, but I have a feeling there’s so much more beneath the surface.

Now, I absolutely need the second book in the series—immediately! I have so many questions, and I can’t wait to see where Elle Kish takes us next. If you’re looking for a gripping, emotional prequel that keeps you guessing, Snapdragon is a must-read!

Thank you to @ellekishauthor and @bookedwiththeemilys for the #gifted e-books!

Traveler of Heart is the captivating first installment in a mesmerizing series. Follow Daphne as she navigates the heartbreaking loss of her husband, Wyatt, only to discover a beautiful mirror in their shop that serves as a portal to an enchanting world filled with magic, fae, and dragons. In this extraordinary realm, she encounters Silas and his loyal friends, embarking on an epic journey through the kingdom of Fracilonia. As Daphne uncovers her true identity and embraces her newfound self, she sets off an adventure with Silas and his crew, driven by the urgent desire to return to her children.

The prequel, Snapdragon, is a must-read after Traveler of Heart. This enchanting novella offers a deep dive into the romance between Wyatt and Daphne, presented through their alternating perspectives, enriching the emotional tapestry of the story.

I was utterly enchanted by both books, devouring them in a single day. The writing is stunning and brimming with genuine emotion. The slow-burn romance between Daphne and Silas is beautifully crafted, and the magical creatures, especially the majestic pegasi and adorable baby dragons, add a delightful charm to the narrative. Silas’ family and friends exhibit unwavering loyalty, supporting Daphne in her quest to find her way home. The unique magic system and the richly developed kingdoms are a testament to the author’s creativity. The cliffhanger at the end of Traveler of Heart left me yearning for more, eagerly anticipating what lies ahead.

If you crave adventure, dragons, magic, time travel and a touch of romance, look no further. Traveler of Heart is a treasure waiting to be discovered. The book is available now, and mark your calendars for Snapdragon, set to be released on March 14, 2025!

ARC Review of Snapdragon by Elle Kish 🥨💍💕

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice Level: 🌶️ (No explicit scenes, just kisses)

Reading "Snapdragon" was an emotional journey that brilliantly complemented "Traveler of the Heart." While this prequel dives into events prior to the first book, it answers many lingering questions and delivers an immense amount of heartbreak. Watching Daphne, the female protagonist, endure layers of deception and lies was truly heart-wrenching. My heart ached not only for her but also for the children and her overall fate.

The romantic spark between the characters, which began so wonderfully, . The anticipation of this decision is already causing me dread, as I know it will bring more tears.

Despite not knowing when the sequel will be released, I am both eager and apprehensive about continuing the story. Elle Kish's world-building is nothing short of magical and inspiring. Although "Snapdragon" lacks literal magic, the author’s writing cast a spell on me, making this book an absolute masterpiece.

Thank you, Elle Kish, for crafting such a compelling and emotional narrative.

If I wasn't torn before I am completely of two hearts now.

This novella is so perfect! It was such an insight into the start of the relationship between Wyatt and Daphne and the choices that led to the start of Traveler of Heart. If one subscribes to the red string theory this book absolutely has that running as an uncurrent throughout and I enjoyed it.

I wasn't sure how to feel about Wyatt after Traveler of Heart and I understand his motivations better after this book. While I didn't always agree with all of his choices it helped to see his reasons behind them. And his feelings for Daphne and his children were very real and I could feel the love he has for them at every turn! The few questionable things he did irked my nerves but also made him more human to me. He isn't infallible and tried to counterbalance his poor decisions.

Getting to see another side of Daphne endeared her to me even more! I loved her in Traveler of Heart and my heart broke for her many times. Seeing the relationship that meant everything to her from both perspectives was eye opening. It was also interesting how the people from her corner weren't always for it and I hope at some point that gets explored more.

The motherhood element truly hit home and I F E L T for her so deeply. The way it changes you and all the relationships you had before the children. The need for a moment of silence but then when having it just spending it in awe of the littles you created. While it was not a large part of this story it was everything!

I couldn't wait for book 2 after Traveler of Heart and I am now absolutely salivating for it after this book. I do not know who I am cheering for any more and I have so many questions I need answers for immediately!

Happy Reading!!

This is a prequel Novella, BUT read Traveler of Heart first because there are things in this novella that will give away some things in the first book.

This novella takes a deep dive into the beginning of Traveler Of Heart. For those of you that haven’t read it, here’s a quick rundown (but seriously what are you waiting for go read it already): Daphne meets Wyatt on her first day at her new job and it was love at first sight. They end up dating and eventually getting married. Many years and three kids later they are starting to drift apart. After a normal day and a late working day for Wyatt, he never comes home. His car is found burnt to a crisp and now he must navigate life caring for three children and grieving the loss of her best friend a soul mate.

There were so many things I love about this novella and I can’t pick what my favorite is. I absolutely loved the fact that this is about Daphne and Wyatt’s dynamic.

So in the first book, you don’t really get a sense of who Wyatt really is and I didn’t like him😂. But it kinda changed after reading this book. I like him more, but am still a little wary of him.

I still absolutely adore Daphne. She overcomes so much and if she has a problem with you, she will let you know. You get more information on her lineage which is also helpful (you just got to read the first book to understand why).

This novella answered some of my questions, but left me with more questions than answers. I need book 2 like yesterday because all these questions are killing me (not really but I need answers!)

Snapdragon by Elle Kish releases March 14, 2025 and will be available on KU 🖤

5/5⭐

*closed-door romance with some good tension.

This is a prequel novella but I personally recommend reading it after Traveler of Heart. This is the backstory of the main character Daphne and how she came to be in the position she starts ToH in, but a lot of Wyatt's part in this story makes more sense if you read this one second.

❤Closed-door romance
❤He falls first
❤Fantasy meets real world

Elle's debut novel left us on such a huge cliffhanger! Although I can't wait to see what happens next in the story, I'm really happy to get this backstory as well!

Daphne is such a sweet, positive, supporting character who moves to a new place and ends up falling for the town heartthrob, but he has plans for them that she doesn't even know about. This book is so much deception wrapped in such cute packaging, and perfectly leads right into the beginning of ToH.

I loved learning more about Wyatt's background and family. I still feel about the same towards him as I did before reading, but I'm VERY invested in finding out what happens next as well as slightly conflicted between the 2 mmcs introduced in this series so far.

My favorite part was probably the ren fest because I'm a huge nerd lol. I thought that added such a fun element to the story!

If you love romantasy, prefer your fmc a little older, and have ever dreamed of falling into a fantasy world: put Traveler of Heart and Snapdragon on your tbr immediately! This author is amazing. Her writing flows so smoothly and keeps you hanging on until the shocking end.

Thanks so much to the author for the advance copy and congrats on publishing your second book! I'm so happy to be a small part of your journey 🖤

“I’ve got this. No pressure, just the entire fate of my kingdom balancing in the outcome of a first impression.”

“Actually liking the person I’m going to marry would make life much more enjoyable.”

“Other women flirting with him is beyond my control, but at least he isn’t afraid to let them know who his heart belongs to.”

“Without any doubt, every part of me belongs to him.”

“This may be a relationship of necessity, but Daphne will still be treated like the queen I intend her to be.”

“Wyatt’s my soulmate- at least that’s what the voice in my head keeps telling me.”

“I’ve never had any reason to work on controlling its effect on my temper. She’s worth fixing myself for.”

“As much as I’ve upheld my promise to give her the world, she’s given me the same in return.”

“You must be prepared for Daphne to make a choice, and you may not like the outcome.”

I devoured this book. It was written in such an easy to read way, and broken up so perfectly. I liked getting inside Wyatt’s head, even if I didn’t always agree with him.
I’m even more excited for book three, now!

Thank you so much to Elle Kish for this ARC!

Traveler Of Heart is a really fun adventure, and this prequel novella is a nice way of dipping my toes back into the world while awaiting the sequel. In this novella, you get to know a lot more about Daphne and her past and who she was before we meet her at the beginning of the first book. It also expands on the prologue of TOH in a really interesting way. And we get to really meet and know Wyatt and his family, none of whom are very prominent in TOH. This novella made me even more excited for the sequel. There are aspects of this series that I don't personally vibe with - specific mythical beings that I don't care for and was unaware existed in this world when I applied for the ARC as they are not mentioned anywhere in the marketing, and stronger language than I usually prefer - but those are just down to my own tastes. There's a lot more that I do like about this series - adventure, fae, dragons, complicated romance; just to name a few - making these books solid four star reads for me.
