Twenty-five years ago, Oriana hid a devastating professional mistake—and now must face the consequences.
Oriana Coleman is one of the most sought-after art dealers on the east coast, renowned in New York, London, Paris, and Tokyo. She fought tooth and nail to get to the top—and didn't always play by the rules.
At the beginning of Oriana's career, her best friend and coworker swapped out a multi-million-dollar painting for a very convincing forgery. When she confessed to the crime, Oriana knew better than to tell anyone she hadn't noticed the painting was a fake. It would have destroyed her reputation and dropped her back on square one.
But Oriana was never really able to escape the past—and when someone blackmails her with information about what happened all those years ago, she's forced to reckon with her demons, before her career is destroyed forever.
Katie writes women's fiction and clean, wholesome contemporary romance. She looks to everyday, real-life family issues to weave stories of heartfelt emotions, love and loss, and everything in between.
Come transport yourself to Martha's Vineyard: an island of vivid blue ocean, white sand, and a lively community of locals, who celebrate everything from the bright New England summers to the cold, yet cozy, snowcapped winters.
Oh Lordy—get the tissues ready. This one will literally have you in tears from the first page! I can’t believe how truly blessed we are to have such a talented writer spinning such incredible stories for us. Threads of Hope is Katie Winters at her finest. The storyline is incredible; the characters are multi dimensional; the plot twists and turns definitely keep you guessing; and once again we’re led to the almost HEA that makes your heart sing while we all breathe a collective sigh of relief. DO NOT MISS THIS BOOK…it’s stunning! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and absolutely loved it!!) ❤️❤️
The book is told from the perspective of Oriana, a legend I. The art world. The book goes between the past and present. She is from the second Coleman. Family. Oriana and her friend Brea share a secret. When a blackmailer threatens to bring the secret to light, Oriana sets out to find Brea who has been missing for 20 years. Secrets and family support are themes of the book.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. Thos review is my honest opinion
Threads of Hope is book 4 in the Coleman series by Katie Winters and up next is Oriana Coleman’s story.
What happens when you make a huge mistake 25 years ago, and now someone is trying to blackmail you after all this time…secrets, relationships, destroyed, family, mystery, and so much more. Wondering where Ms. Winters will take us next, can’t wait to find out!
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Wow! Total departure form Katie winters typical books. Oriana is the main character and her best friend Brea. They take the art world by storm but Brea has a secret, one she winds up disappearing for in order to keep oriana safe. I loved the mystery and finally having the Coleman brothers help out in order to end the drama. Oriana and .Brea find their way back to each other. I really loved this book!
In Coleman series book 4, Threads of Hope, Katie Winters tackles something different from the romances that usually occur among the islanders on Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard: forgery, theft, and blackmail in the upper echelon of the art world. Oriana Coleman, daughter of Chuck Coleman in his "second family" on Martha's Vineyard, is an up and coming art dealer who began her rise with the sale of a $4 million modern art painting in 1998. Unbeknownst to her and the buyer, that painting was a forgery, and her best friend/assistant Brea was responsible for the switch. For two years Oriana lived in blissful ignorance until Brea confessed to her at her husband's funeral. An art forger had befriended her when she was upset about Kenny (her fiance)'s kidney failure and their inability to pay for a transplant, and under the guise of looking at the "ugly thing rich people pay millions for" he stole a photo from Oriana's file and re-created the painting, offering $2 million to Brea to switch the real painting for the forgery. She wanted to save Kenny's life so badly she agreed, and the buyer took the forgery home, none the wiser. Two years after a successful transplant, Brea and Kenny marry, but she finds him collapsed in their living room six months later and he dies. At the funeral, feeling she has nothing more to lose, she tells Oriana about her part in the substitution and runs to Thailand, where she hides for 23 years. Meanwhile, Oriana has begun receiving anonymous notes saying that the author knows what she did in 1998 and wants $3 million or else her guilty secret will be revealed. The first note arrives at her hotel room during a sisters' New York trip with Meghan; the second arrives at her Martha's Vineyard doorstep during a family party. It seems the blackmailer knows where to find her, at home and away. This scares Oriana! Looking for answers, she hires a private investigator named Rita to find Brea. Rita locates her in Thailand and Oriana flies there promptly, reuniting with the best friend who thought she hated her! After a few days in "paradise", with no luck figuring out who might be blackmailing her (the forger himself has died), Oriana and Brea return to Martha's Vineyard together, concocting a story about Oriana going to meet a client in Bangkok and finding Brea there by accident because Oriana was too ashamed to tell her husband about her "failure" to identify a forged painting before she accepted payment for it. Their two much older half-brothers, Grant and Roland (the volatile patriarch of the Coleman family and father of Charlie, Samantha, and Hilary from books 1-3), who've been reluctant to see their young half-sisters, finally meet with them and prove much more pleasant than the women--and readers who met them in books 1 and 2--expect. Oriana chooses to confide in Grant about the blackmail messages, and Grant gives her contact info for a new PI, since Rita is on a new case in South America. Oriana calls "Carl" and discovers he's actually Nick, a man she and Brea knew in New York! He was charming, handsome...and interested only in Oriana, leaving Brea to wander around the city and fall into the clutches of the art forger. As Oriana babbles about seeing Nick everywhere in New York, Roland admits hiring him under the name "Carl" to tail her, and Brea remembers seeing him at the funeral reception where she confessed the forgery scheme to Oriana. The blackmail notes started arriving shortly thereafter. Nick/Carl must be the blackmailer! A quick look by Rita unearths the sordid history of Nick/Carl/Valentino (his birth name), another art dealer, and the half-brothers, half-sisters, and Brea head to the city for a sting operation. Pretending to know him as "Nick", her friend in NYC, Oriana suggests they go dancing and calls for an Uber (really Roland, who left Grant and Meghan in a pub across the street). When he sees who the driver is, Nick tries to escape but is foiled by the child safety locks in the car. He swears he'll take down Oriana with him, at which point Roland asks if he's going to tell the police he changed his identity at least twice and kidnapped a former client's child, only to bring the child back as the "rescuer". Cornered, Nick promises to leave Oriana alone, and the two families of Chuck Coleman unite in victory as Oriana and Brea return to their earlier best friendship. I'm not sure what the phrase "Threads of Hope" has to do with art world intrigue, but aside from the title I found the story gripping. The world of an art dealer is more demanding--and dangerous--than I suspected, and it was gratifying to see an arrogant man get his comeuppance from a middle-aged grandmother! The Nantucket Colemans appear briefly, but as half-nieces and -nephews of Grant and Roland, they're secondary characters in this story of long-lost half-siblings uniting to con a con man. Aside from Kenny and Brea, this book features no romance...and I don't miss it! I highly recommend Threads of Hope.

I'm somewhat enjoying the series but unsure if I will continue. There are so many typos and detail flaws which distract from the story. they also, unfortunately, peg the author as a novice. There's potential here but a good editor and proof-reader is a requirement.
A couple of quick examples which caused eye rolling: referring to NYC streets as roads; NYC doesn't have ANY roads. Also writing that the island ferry "sailed". Sailboats sail, not ferries which are under power. Numerous typos and mixing up of names and so on and so forth.
Yet, again there's potential here if this author finds a good group of meta readers, editors, and proof readers.
Best friends Oriana and Brea are the focus of Threads of Hope. This would be a great plot for a made for TV movie. I loved the elements of mystery and crime in the story and the world of art. I really appreciated the different locales such as Thailand and the contrast of past and present. Family is significant in Katie Winters' books, and family helped solve the problem in this story. Great book !
Events that happy in the past can catch up to you even when you are out of the circle where it all started. Careers can be made and lost due to many different reasons. How would you react in a situation where you could help a struggling friend, family member etc by doing something that wasn't legal? And then living with the secret for years and finally having to face it. Interesting concept.
Book 4 of the Coleman series focuses on Oriana, the Art entrepreneur. Filled with flashbacks, this book gives you insight into who Oriana is as a person, friend and family member. You will probably need to have the tissues ready as you delve into this one as it touches on friendship, love, betrayal and loss dragging you through emotional turmoils that definitely tug at the heartstrings. Fabulous series 😍
This book continues the Coleman saga with strong characters and a very curious mystery. The story introduces the 2 sisters,Oriana. and Megan to their brothers at last. It brings the family closer together through the mystery. A very good read.
Threads of Hope.( The Coleman Series Book 4 ) Katie Winters
This is a great way to spend a day when you want to rest and don't watch TV,I have read all 4 books and enjoyed each one. They're all about people who are very real, family oriented ,its a page turner that twists and turns truly, people live like this .I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
This is the 4th book, so I obviously keep reading the series. The author needs a proofreader/beta reader. The mix up of small details, ie. wrong name, wrong island, wrong relationship makes it very frustrating. The story line is interesting, so I keep reading.
The Coleman family lives on as Oriana takes the spotlight! ? Couldn't put it down, although there are still grammatical issues that take my mind off the series. Saying much more would be a spoiler, but definitely a master storyteller and a good read!
I will be honest it took me several chapters before I really started to enjoy this book. A great back story line meets present time, A bit of a mystery , betrayal and blackmail. The characters were very supportive, friendly and grateful. The Coleman family has kept me entertained and intrigued and I can't wait to see what's happening next. Enjoy
The friend and family dynamics was so good. A true example of how secrets really can ruin lives, relationships and family. But also shows that family can lay everything on the line to help each other.
What a mysterious way authors thread their stories. Katie Winters continued to write about family, love, friendship, and support. However, this story was different, in the fact, there was a crime committed, and threatened to be exposed after more than 20 years! A good read!
A very good read! Sometimes illness and family financial situations makes us do crazy things! This story depicts real life in so many ways. Good friends never really give up on each other!
Rather a slow read as it floats from topic to topic
A good read for all. Book #4 was slightly slow in reading! I'm glad I finished in such a short time! Now I'm looking forward to book #5!! I hope it stands out by reading!!
I found this entire storyline To be the weakest in the series And the resolution was very hard to swallow. Also, Reese's character was so undeveloped that Oriana may as well have been single.
It is amazing to me how twisted a story can be. And after all my years of life, that old saying that life is stranger than fiction is true. How the mind of this author works is awe inspiring. This was a bizarre story.
This is as great book! It had a mystery that even I couldn't figure out! The family names still have me a little confused, but this story was worth it! On to the next book! Good read!
This story has such loving and caring characters. The Coleman family tries so hard to live up to a false portrait of theirselves. This makes things interesting and at times comical too. You have to read the series to understand.
Katie Winters is an incredible writer with an imagination and detail of characters that keep you reading. I dont want to see this series end. Absolutely brilliant!
