The first official The Office holiday storybook–a new classic for fans of all ages! Now a New York Times bestseller!
Spend “The Night Before Christmas” at Dunder Mifflin in this hilarious and timeless illustrated retelling of the beloved poem, featuring a visit from Michael Scott as Santa and narrated by Kevin Malone (author Brian Baumgartner).
“’Twas the night before Christmas, and all through Dunder Mifflin, not an accountant was stirring…”
It’s Christmas Eve at Scranton’s finest paper company, and Michael Scott is nowhere to be found. As the office dozes off after their raucous holiday party, two mysterious visitors sneak a Santa peddling holiday cheer and that’s what she said jokes, and his beet-loving, dutiful, right-hand elf. Armed with absurd gifts for the staff, tacky decorations for the office, and absolutely nothing good for Toby, the two prepare to give Dunder Mifflin a holiday they’ll never forget.
A hilarious twist on a Christmas classic, The Night Before Christmas at Dunder Mifflin is a rollicking, festive, and heartwarming jaunt through everyone’s favorite office, the perfect holiday treat for any fan of the show.
Perfect for holiday storytime and family readingFilled with joy, wonder, and the spirit of the seasonA delightful Christmas gift for readers everywhere
This was so cute. If you are a fan of The Office you will love this. It’s short but there’s so many references to major moments/episodes with the items Santa brings for everybody. This would make a good gift for a lover of the show.

I received a free copy of, The Night Before Christmas at Dunder Mifflin,by Brian Baumgarten; Ben Silverman, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I have never seen the Office, I just love Christmas books. This was a cute Christmas story.
2 stars for this storybook about Christmas Eve at Dunder Mifflin, illustrated (poorly, in my opinion) by Mael Gourmelen.
I absolutely love “The Office” but it’s hard to believe that this many years along we are still talking about it and enjoying it (not a pan…I’m glad to see it.). The rhythm of the poem is a bit off and most of the drawings don’t really look like the characters portrayed, but the book is fine, I guess.
"When the gifts were arranged, Santa and the elf put up a tree, But it burst through the ceiling, a sorry sight to see. It's too big! cried the elf, shaking his head. Santa stifled a laugh and whispered, That's what she said!"
This was cute and a lot of fun. Ugh! I miss The Office! ♥
As a huge fan of The Office, I couldn’t resist picking up The Night Before Christmas at Dunder Mifflin by Brian Baumgartner, and I’m so glad I did! This fun, heartwarming retelling of the classic Christmas tale, set in the world of Scranton’s most iconic office, was an absolute delight from start to finish.
The book is a charming, festive spin on the beloved holiday classic, and it does a brilliant job of capturing the humor and spirit of The Office. I loved seeing the characters of Dunder Mifflin transformed into a Christmas story, with “Santa” and his “Elf” helper delivering presents that perfectly matched each character’s quirky personality. Pam gets a beautiful new art set, Stanley’s retirement countdown clock (which is so Stanley!), and even Toby, who of course receives a pile of roadside trash. Each present felt so true to who the characters are, and it was such a joy to see them get gifts that made sense for them.
The illustrations throughout the book are adorable, and they capture the essence of each character perfectly. I found myself smiling at every turn, from the familiar office setting to the little nods to the show’s history. Baumgartner does a great job of weaving in The Office humor, making it feel like you’re right back at the Scranton branch. And, of course, the iconic “that’s what she said” line from Michael Scott makes a perfectly timed appearance, which was the cherry on top of this already fantastic read.
What I loved most about this book is how it’s both heartwarming and funny. It captures the holiday spirit while still staying true to the hilarious and lovable characters we all know and love. It was a reminder of why The Office is such a special show, and this book brought those memories flooding back in the best way possible.
A new take on a Christmas classic for Dunder Mifflin fans everywhere. If you like the show The Office, you will probably enjoy this quick and fun retelling of The Night Before Christmas, complete with cute and colorful illustrations by Mael Gourmelen. The story is full of references to characters and inside jokes from the show. It would be entertaining to have a hard copy of this book to be able to pull off the shelf and read each Christmas season! This book does not go above and beyond expectations and is exactly what I thought it would be: a short, creative, funny retelling of a Christmas classic. Thank you to NetGalley, Brian Baumgartner, Ben Silverman, and Mariner Books for the gifted ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was super cute! Short and filled with funny innuendoes and throwback moments. It was heartwarming with a light twist. The best start to my Christmas morning!
Вече споделих и тук огромната си обич към сериала „The Office“, когато писах ревю за „Welcome to Dunder Mifflin: The Ultimate Oral History of The Office“, прекрасното допълнение към сериала и случилото се зад кулисите през годините на заснемането му, а и след това, когато феновете му продължиха да се множат. Авторите Браян Баумгартнер и Бен Силвърман стоят и зад тази кратка илюстрирана коледна книжка – „The Night Before Christmas at Dunder Mifflin“ („Нощта преди Коледа в „Дъндър Мифлин“), в която много от любимите ни образи оживяват отново в най-вълшебната нощ от годината. И ако случайно самият Дядо Коледа и неговият верен помощник ви се струват познати… е, не е случайно.
This was cute, quick, and full of Dunder Mifflin-y Christmas Cheer! (Except for Toby.)
Written in the style of "T'was the Night Before Christmas" this Office christmas story was absolutely adorable. I did find that the flow of the story fumbled a few times, but that didn't take too much away from the read, The art was adorable as was the story. Reading this at Christmas time will definitely become a new family tradition.
This book is perfect for any fans of The Office or Christmas.
Perfect for any lover of The Office! This is a fun spin on a holiday classic written by none other than Kevin himself, Brian Baumgartner, & one of the executive producers of the show, Ben Silverman. It’s a great way to include the whole family in the love so many share for this series. There’s tons of references for The Office lovers to catch & the illustrations are so cute! I can’t wait to add the hardcover to my bookshelf.
Thank you to NetGalley & Mariner Books for the advance copy.
Thank you @Mariner Books for my book. ⠀ My 💭: ⠀ So even though my sister told me long time ago to watch The Office because I would love it I never did. I finally watched the Christmas episodes during the pandemic when Comedy Central aired a marathon and I’ve been hooked ever since. Fans of the show will definitely enjoy this holiday book and I loved the touches to past episodes as well.
“The Night Before Christmas at Dunder Mifflin” is a hilarious holiday storybook that is perfect for fans of “The Office.” I loved this fun twist on the classic Christmas poem. If you’re like me and have been missing the antics at Scranton’s finest paper company, then you will not be disappointed. The story and pictures were so fun, and I could not stop laughing. I will definitely be buying a copy as a gift for myself!
Thank you to NetGalley and Mariner Books for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Perfect for any fan of The Office, Brian Baumgartner and Ben Silverman reimagine the classic story of The Night Before Christmas and set it at our favorite paper company with all of its beloved employees. I was cackling at this book! It was so much fun to read and the illustrations by Mael Gourmelen were wonderful! I’m so happy I read it and honestly I think I need a physical copy on my shelves!
Thank you to NetGalley and Mariner Books for an advanced digital reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review
Soo trying to figure out when in the show this book takes place in…Gabe is there so it’s at least somewhat into Season 6 because that’s when Sabre buys Dunder Mifflin…but Daryl is still in the warehouse so that puts an even tighter window on it.
Yet, Pam is still a receptionist?? But she hasn’t been one since Season 5 so honestly I’m just confused 🤪
It’s probably really sad how easily all of this info came to my head
This was really well done with plenty of Easter eggs from the show. Not many holiday books can toss a “that’s what she said” in it! And perfectly appropriate for kids too!
Plenty of good insider jokes from The Office, and fans who collect everything Office-related will be interested in this book.
But "A Visit from St. Nick" is the most OVER-parodied poem out there, and its steady rhythm makes it easy to mimic. This version has TONS of lines that don't fit the correct meter, and it just feels...lazy. With a bit of work, they could have kept all the Office jokes but made the parody more authentic. Oh, well!
This book was written by Brian Baumgartner (Kevin) and Ben Silverman (an executive producer of the show). This book was a fun take on The Night Before Christmas, and I had so much fun reading it. There are so many references to moments from The Office, and illustrations by Mael Gourmelen captured the characters perfectly. This would make a perfect gift for any fan of the show, or a great coffee table book to keep on display during the holidays.
“When the gifts were arranged, Santa and the elf put up a tree, But it burst through the ceiling, a sorry sight to see. ‘It’s too big!’ cried the elf, shaking his head. Santa stifled a laugh and whispered, ‘that’s what she said!’”
This was a fun little retelling for any Office fans out there! Santa Michael (with helper Dwight) comes to the office to deliver special gifts for each of the employees while they sleep! Each gift is tailored to the character and fans will enjoy the memories that all the items remind you of! It may even encourage you to watch all the episodes once again! The only complaint I have is with the illustrations. They were... unique and slightly caricature-ish. Some didn't look very accurate for the actor/actress. I was given a free copy of this from @netgalley in exchange for my honest review. It has already been published, so pick it up for any Office fan on your Christmas list!
“Merry Christmas to all - and to all a good night… except Toby.”
The perfect holiday treat for avid fans of The Office, The Night Before Christmas at Dunder Mifflin was a beautifully illustrated storybook reimagining the classic tale, with a delightful Scranton twist. Offering up charming and hilarious snippets from the iconic sitcom using watercolour style art - a nod to Pam’s talking head in the very first season, if i’m not mistaken! - each page was beautiful to behold and a lovely mix of poetry and humour, and the illustrations were filled with such impressive detail. 4.5 stars.
“Away to the window he flew like a flash, oh no, he thought, had Dwight’s Trans Am crashed?”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is a fiction children’s book.
This is a super fun children’s book based on the classic The Night Before Christmas. It is told from Kevin‘s perspective from the TV show the office and it has all the fun office references you could ever want. If you’re an office fan I highly recommend this for your collection.
Slipping one last Christmas read in for this year as my fiance bought me this for Christmas and told me I have to read it before the end of the year. I absolutely love The Office and loved this take on the classic Christmas story. It was a cute little book, and had a few little jokes from the show, including a "That's what she said" line. If you're a fan of The Office, definitely pick this one up.
