I just ended my rookie year with the Seattle Sockeyes in a win-or-go-home game, and we went home. I played a big part in that loss thanks in part to my lack of team play. It's time to lick my wounds, re-examine my role, and come to terms with demons I've been avoiding for too long. I buy an RV and take to the wilderness for a little solitude and lot of soul-searching. Just me, my dog Bones, and nature. There's one problem. My campsite neighbor is a too-cheerful, busy-body camp host. She brings out the worst in me, but I can't stop thinking about sharing a sleeping bag with her.



As a brand ambassador for a large RV manufacturer, it's my job to make sure everyone is enjoying their camping experience. Usually I'm quite good at fixing problems and assisting campers until I meet the hot, grumpy hockey player next door. He claims he wants to be left alone; but after one look at his lost expression, I'm certain that's the last thing he needs. To complicate things, we have chemistry, the kind which blazes past all misgivings and singes everyone in sight.

Off-Season was a great read, it's funny, sweet, has a lot of likeable characters and a satisfying storyline. It put a smile on my face from start to finish.

Andy ends his first year with the Sockeyes with a crushing defeat, a lecture from the team's captain and the usual argument with his half brother. He decides to take some alone time to think about his life, so he buys a RV and he goes camping. When he gets at the campground he finds out that the outdoor life isn't easy as he thought, fortunately Kennedy, the woman who lives next to him, knows her stuff and helps him. Andy doesn't like to be helpless so he reluctantly accepts her advices but day after day he likes Kennedy more and more, and he enjoys their time together even when he looks ridiculous.

Andy and Kennedy have an amazing chemistry, in and out of the bedroom. They have such opposite personalities, broody the first and lively the latter, but they still like to spend some time together, they embark on more adventures than they expected at the beginning of their journey.

I loved to see some of the other characters from previous books and after the prologue I can't wait to get next book.

Off-Season was the sixth book in the Scoring series by Jami Davenport. The series was a spin off from her original Seattle Sockeye series and although enjoyable, was not necessary to have read the original series first.

Andy was a rookie on the Seattle Sockeyes NHL team and he came with baggage. It was the off season and he decided to isolate himself to try and figure things out for his future. He decided camping in an RV - a well equipped RV - would be the ticket, how hard could it be for someone who has never camped before, right?!

Kennedy was a nomad. She was raised sailing around the world and enjoyed moving from place to place. She was the Journey RV ambassador and a popular blogger with millions of followers. As a way of life she moved from campground to campground spreading her nomad joy and experience.

Off-Season was a cute and fun read. Davenport lightly set the stage for both Andy and Kennedy revealing all of their baggage while simultaneously building off of their firework chemistry. Davenport also included some off season teammate fun and drama which will continue throughout the series.

All in all, it was a quick, entertaining and light hearted read. I totally can’t wait for Cave’s story next in Delayed Penalty.

Andy plays pro hockey with the Seattle Sockeyes and just finished his rookie year in a playoff loss that was partly his fault. Needing to work on his attitude and lack of being a team player he decides to do some soul searching. He buys an RV planning to go into the wilderness for some solitude time with just his dog, Bones but instead finds himself parked next to Kennedy, little Miss Sunshine, .
Kennedy is a brand ambassador for Journey RVs and a camp host. To Kennedy it's quite clear that Andy has no idea how to camp let alone set up his Journey RV and offers to help him but he is grumpy and really just wants to be left alone. Kennedy is a free spirit, always happy and traveling around the country in her RV who loves teaching others about camping etc. so it's hard for her to not help Andy.
He is always willing to try something new and even opens up to Kennedy about his family that he hasn't told his teammates about. The more time they spend together the closer they get not to mention their chemistry is off the charts.
What happens when it's time to go back to playing hockey, setting down roots? Does Kennedy play a part in these decisions?

I loved the family dynamics and his teammates. There were some great laugh out loud parts involving them. Can't wait to read Cave's story in Delayed Penalty, next up.

4 star Review Off-Season (Scoring #6) by Jami Davenport

I really enjoyed Off-Season, it was a great addition to the Scoring series. This time it is Andy and Kennedy’s story and I was drawn into the Jami Davenport wove from the first chapter.

After a painful loss that lost them the series, Andy embarks on an RV road trip with his dog Bones for company. He hopes that he will get the time to do some serious soul searching. He needs to face his past and come to terms with it and in doing so set a new course to follow.

Meeting the cheerful Kennedy at a camping ground, he is attracted to her. As they get to know one another, he cannot help but wonder if she could be the missing piece to make his life complete?

Kennedy sees under the brash exterior he projects and sees a man who is lost. More than anything she wants to make him smile and cannot see the harm in spending a few days with him; there is a lot more to Andy than meets the eye.

I really liked both Andy and Kennedy and it was entertaining to watch their relationship develop. What happens once feelings become involved? Will it be the start of a beautiful journey or will they crash and burn?

Andy was sure upset with himself at then end of his first season playing hockey. There were a few truths he needed to come to terms with. I think most sport players are a little to a lot cocky that they think they can do anything and get whatever they want. Andy was hilarious when a bought his RV. When he got to the camping site, it was glaringly obvious he didn’t have a clue about the RV. Luckily Kennedy who was an ambassador for the RV line and camped next to him was able to help him. But the help mostly came when he had messed something up. He kept getting upset with himself as he felt humiliated by his mistakes. Kennedy was such a happy, sweet, piece of sunshine that drove Andy crazy at first. The more they were thrown together, the more he was attracted to her. Their attraction burnt whoever was around them. I was so glad Andy had Kennedy to talk to and finally confide in. This was a good book that I strongly encourage you to read. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

I loved the camping escapades of Andy. He had a lot to learn, and Kennedy was a wonderful teacher. She was so patient and happy. I enjoyed Andy's epiphanies as they came. They were so hot together and were able to figure out what they both wanted and needed in life. There were quite a few moments with smiles and giggles, definitely an entertaining story.

5 Off-Season Stars🌟

Andy has just completed his rookie year with the Seattle Sockeyes and is now preparing for a summer with nothing planned. Always wanting to have gone camping as a kid, he decides to buy an RV and settles in at a campsite opposite the beautiful Kennedy😍 But unfortunately, he doesn’t know much about the outdoors or the RV itself and the discoveries he makes along the way are funny and entertaining and the way in which he learns and how Kennedy helps him endearing❣️

A dog that likes to hump everything that breathes, a camp couple that are friends but play at matchmaking and two “friends” who are stubborn, this story is light and refreshing with a dose of seriousness thrown in with Andy’s family issues🤔

A great, fast paced read that I thoroughly enjoyed and I’m eager to see what’s in store for Cave next😉 I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review❤️

Andy Staples thought he was doing great as a rookie with the Seattle Sockeyes in the NHL. But a big loss made him realize during the off season, he really needs to find out what is off in his life and the way he plays before it all comes crashing down like it did in the past. He figures RVing can’t be that difficult and it will be a great to bring everything together while being away from people. Little did he realize it was a lot harder than it looks and people were everywhere, including some who know who he is and a gorgeous woman who makes his mind go blank.

Kennedy is a free spirited individual who travels all around the US in an RV Ambassador for the family business. She loves what she does, seeing the country and helping other ‘glampers’. When she sees a new camper next to her one night she knows he is a rookie at it so offers to help out. What she didn’t know is that he was a hot looking guy who she has an instant connection with.

As they get to know each other in more ways than one, are they both willing to take a chance at where it could go, because they are two very different souls? Or will the fact that one wants to settle down while the other wants to travel cause them to drift apart?

Jami Davenport does it again with an awesome novel in the Sockeye series. Bringing in some of the characters from previous books (including someone’s ½ sibling) and doing a bit of a tease for the next one in the series. It catches you right from the start and doesn’t slow down at all. I wonder how many will go look into glamping after reading this?

Rookie NHL player Andy Staples has ended his season in not a good place. He realizes he’s been a selfish player and he needs to step up his game next year if he wants to stay with the Seattle Sockeye‘s. For some crazy reason he thinks what he needs to do off season is buy a huge RV and take off camping. Now he’s never camped before or driven an RV but he’s a man! They can figure out anything, right?
Kennedy is spending the summer traveling to campgrounds as the brand ambassador for Journey RVs. Lucky her, she is next to the spot that Andy tries to cram his giant RV into, taking out a pole and some other things in the attempt. Eventually he accepts her help and they become camping neighbors. Long story short, they find that they really enjoy spending time together. She is patient and kind with his camping idiocy and he finds himself enjoying the great outdoors and reevaluating some of his decisions about his interactions with his estranged family. In other words, he really does find himself!
I really enjoyed this low-key romance. Both Andy and Kennedy are basically nice people. There’s an obvious conflict in their outlook on the future. She’s a traveling person and he’s a guy looking for stability in his life. Andy’s made some stupid moves in his life and he does with Kennedy too. Kennedy is veering very close to having traveling be running from life. Ms. Davenport does a good job of giving them the proverbial light dawns moment when they bungle the relationship. Of course the HEA is there and the book ends on a huge tease about one of Andy’s teammates.

Andy is struggling to find his place in life. Not only did his teammates open his eyes to him not be a team player, but his home life is in tatters. When he sets his mind to camping he decides to be alone and do some soul searching. Once he gets to his campsite, he meets his overly happy and friendly neighbor Kennedy. He is attracted to her, but attempts to keep her away because he wants to be alone.

I really liked how he made the realizations about who he was and who he wanted to be on his own. Yes, he had Kennedy as a friend and sounding board, but as he was telling her things he would realize how it sounded. She was a great friend to him and supported him. She was independent, almost to a fault. She pushed him in the right direction but never forced him to do anything.

They were great friends, taught each other important lessons and incinerated the sheets. They both slowly realized their summer fling was more, but didn’t want to risk what they had. My only complaint is that there wasn’t a discussion with Ziggy’s family and/or much of a discussion with Ziggy. When Andy and Kennedy go their separate ways, both are miserable but stubborn. The culmination of that was sweet.

I enjoyed this book a lot, as well as the rest of the series. The end of the book, with Cave, has me intrigued and wishing I could read his book now. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

Off-Season is the next book in Jami Davenport's Scoring series and it was a great addition.

Andy Staples is a rookie on the Seattle Sockeyes hockey team and things didn't quite end the way he wanted them to during his rookie campaign. He had a lot of soul searching to do and a lot to learn during the off-season, so he decided to do something he's never done before, he bought an RV and he took off on an adventure.

Kennedy has grown up traveling the world and now she's made it her occupation, by traveling to different RV parks and serving as the host for other travelers and vacationers. She's only known living on the road and for her it's the best thing in the world. She knows a novice when she sees one and when a brand new RV pulls in crookedly next to her, she knows she needs to lend a hand.

After Kennedy helps Andy get set up, the two begin to spend more and more time together and learn they enjoy one another's company. While she isn't looking to settle down, he is beginning to get that urge. Can these two very different people make it work?

Jami Davenport did a great job with this story. I enjoyed both Kennedy and Andy, and I also enjoyed how she helped Andy reconnect with his family. It's always good to add to the Sockeye's family and Davenport has definitely set us up for the next book in this series!

Jami Davenport hits it in the net with OFF-SEASON (Scoring #6). After a disappointing loss in the second round of the playoffs, Seattle Sockeyes rookie Andy Staples decides to do some soul searching. He chooses to spend time alone camping in an RV in the off season, his only company, his dog, Bones. He didn’t plan on meeting Kennedy, brand ambassador for Journey RVs.

Andy is half-brothers with Gage Ziegler (Scoring #5). I recommend reading Gage’s story first. Andy and Gage have a rocky relationship. Nobody on the team knows why they hate each other, and that they are brothers. I enjoyed reading Andy’s viewpoint of their situation growing up. He does a lot of growing up in this story.

I like Kennedy and Andy. They are a fantastic couple with intense chemistry. The only problem is they want different things in their lives. Kennedy thrives on a nomadic lifestyle filled with adventure. Andy wants to settle down in one place and have a stable home; something he didn’t have while growing up. I have always wanted to travel using an RV. I learned a lot about RVing by reading this story.

OFF-SEASON was a heartfelt and entertaining read. The book was skillfully written with endearing characters. I am looking forward to “Caveman” Flint’s story next, DELAYED PENALTY (Scoring #7) I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

“Off Season” is a fun and steamy read that features one of my favourite tropes, Grumpy and Sunshine. I love the Seattle Sockeyes and I get excited for every new book that comes out in the series.

After not making it to the Stanley Cup Finals, Andy is feeling frustrated and a little lost. Deciding to take time to find himself, he buys an RV to go camping and be somewhat off the grid. There he meets the helpful and upbeat, Kennedy. Kennedy is a bit of a free spirit and nomad. She travels around the country in her RV teaching others the lay of the land. Kennedy is always happy and wanting to help. Andy is frustrated with his hockey play and just life in general. The two have an attraction but both want no strings attached.

Andy is grumpy, hockey player perfection. Even when he’s at his grumpiest, he’s amazing. I love his drive to be the best he can be since he came from a hard background. I loved Kennedy and her free spirit and independence. She’s not afraid to go out on her own to do what she wants. It takes a strong person to do that and I admire that a whole lot. I loved when they finally got together. The angst and buildup was perfect. We get appearances from some of our favourite Sockeyes and a delicious teaser for the next book.

Amazing story about a rookie hockey player, Andy, who has been shown that he could be a better player by sharing the puck and working with his team. So he takes the off season to re-evaluate his play, and try to correct all the bad habits he's acquired, by purchasing an RV and heading out to camp and find himself. While pulling his RV into a camp site, he's greeted by a beautiful woman, Kennedy, who is an RV influencer, who goes from park to park to help people be better campers. She's always been a free spirit, her parents had her traveling with them since she was born, so for her to settle in one place for any period of time is beyond her beliefs, she just can't see herself doing that.
When Andy finally accepts he needs help, he and Kennedy hit it off, the electricity between these two is off the charts. Can they ever end up on the same page and make this work?
This story had me wanting to buy an RV and go camping! Their dogs will win your heart also! I loved this story, 5 amazing hockey stars for this one!

The Sockeyes have been knocked out of the playoffs early so the Off-Season is starting early. After being called out by several teammates as a puck hog, Andy Staples is looking to get away from everyone and everything to do some soul searching. So he buys a truck and a big fifth wheel travel trailer and heads to the woods to go camping. Only problem is he’s never been camping in his life! But luck is on his side and he meets Kennedy, a girl who knows everything about RVs and camping.
A very original story about a hot romance between a pro hockey player and the girl he never expected!
Lots of laughter, hockey and steamy love scenes!
This spoke to me particularly because my husband and I are KOA Work Kampers who spend months at a time living in our RV and working at campgrounds around the USA.
Jami Davenport adds another hit book to the Seattle Sockeyes series!

Really enjoyed this story featuring Kennedy and Andy. Andy is a Rookie ice hockey player for the Seattle Sockeyes, in trying to get himself noticed on the ice by his teammates and coaches he does exactly the opposite and is labelled ‘selfish’. He goes away on a solo holiday to basically find himself, he’s obviously no expert in camping, whereas Kennedy, who just happens to have the pitch next to him is. There is an attraction between them from first meeting, although he fights it. He has a few skeletons in his cupboard, least of all his half brother! I was so happy that he and his half brother actually managed to find common ground at the end of the book. Thoroughly enjoyed this story. Loved the dogs!!

Andy and Kennedy meet when they are at adjoining campsites. Andy took off for the wilderness for some much needed alone time and self reflection. Kennedy is there to as an RV brand ambassador to help other campers. What is hard to ignore is the attraction between the two of them. The time that these two spend together help Andy to see what is truly important to him. He then actively tries to work on fixing the things that are making his life difficult. While Kennedy has some time to reflect on how she wants her life to progress. These two truly bring out the best in one another! Fun and happy romance!

Andi has just finished his rookie year with the Seattle sock eyes who lost their game. Andi buys a truck and a trailer to spend time on the road along with his faithful companion Bones to find himself so he can be a better team player. He's booked the last spot in an R.V park for three weeks. He of course has the spot next to Kennedy an R.V ambassador and trainer for newbies. No matter how much he tries Andi always seems to embarrass himself in front of Kennedy showing off his R.V experience. Kennedy all her life has been a free spirit first being brought up on a boat by her mom and now an R.V ambassador traveling the country. What will happen when Andi's time is up and he needs to return home for hockey. Will Andi and free spirit Kennedy be able to have a long-distance romance or will the road call to Kennedy breaking them apart.
I received an arc for an honest review for NNBB. You will fall in love with Andi and Kennedy and they have a comfortable rapport together and lots of witty remarks. If you love a hot rom-com with some ice hockey players thrown in you will love this book.

Sports romance (though off season as the title says!), wanderlust vs white picket fence, making up for past mistakes, and the perfect hot spice! This was a great combination of all of that! I wasnt sure what we would get as I have met this character before, I wasnt sure I would be able to fall in love with him. But as I got to know him, his motivations, and back story; I found a new book boyfriend! And Kennedy! We got to know her slowly and oh boy, there is so much dimension to her! This story was perfect, I only wish it was longer!

This is not the first book in the series, but it can be read as a complete stand alone. Everything you need to know will be given to you. But once you finish this book you will want to read the rest!

Andy has finished his first year of NHL hockey and needs time to reflect on who he is as a man and player. What better way then camping? Kennedy has major wanderlust and is the RV camp ambassador to make everyone enjoy camping. Andy is a sockeye out of water has he is forced to learn how to RV camp with Kennedy and find a person who he can trust. Two people learning to lean on each other. I loved the hilarious situations of camping that Davenport put in to make you want to give it a try. Great addition to Sockeyes series, can't wait for next story.

I love the Seattle Sockeyes! The Scoring Series is awesome! Off Season is a fantastic addition! Andy and Kennedy’s story is one of finding out who you are and what you want in life. With Kennedy’s help Andy was able to mend his relationship with his family. Will they be able to make their relationship work? I loved this book! I really enjoyed the tease at the end! What will the next book be? I can’t wait!

Smooth sailing takes some bumpy detours. Off Season puts a ton of thought into what the heart wants despite how the ego reacts. Andy and Kennedy are two strangers with alot to learn when it comes to falling in love. Life gives them quite a lesson on the subject. Davenport plays the strings of the heart with profound results.

I love how Andy and Kennedy connect even when he says he wants to be left alone. The camping and soul searching journey really grabbed me and I couldn't put this down. The chemistry is amazing and it was refreshing to see the male doing what he needed to find himself and become his best version. Kennedy only added to the experience.

I enjoyed this book. You could really feel the chemistry and sparks zinging between these two. This story is well written and offers up a blend of tension, emotion and drama. All together, a fun and very moving read that is a bit sweet and a tad poignant. I am independently posting a impartial review.

I loved this storyline. Smart and independent Kennedy and clueless but sexy Andy. Loved this brotherhood of hockey players. Another great read with the continuation of Seattle Sockeyes. Can't wait for the next instalment of Seattle Sockeyes hockey.

I really loved Andy and felt for him. I’m glad he found Kennedy. She helped him figured things out and I turn he helped her see a different side of life. I really liked them together. I haven’t read the other books in the series but definitely will be checking them out.

Off-Season is the sixth book in The Scoring series, and I loved reading and following Andy and Kennedy's story. I found Kennedy's free-spirited, happy disposition a perfect opposite for Andy's grumpy attitude. This being the second book of the series that I have read, I love the different characters and am looking forward to reading more.

What’s not to love when you meet a grumpy hockey player and a woman who has the best Sunny disposition, you get another great story by Jami Davenport.
Andy Staples is a young rookie for the Seattle Sockeyes but he also is a man who needs to find his way when it comes to his career and his family issues and what better way to do that is find time for yourself and go camping little does he know that he has no idea what he’s doing but the fun only begins when he meets Kennedy.
Kennedy is the Brand Ambassador for Journey RV’s she is the go to person for all things camping but when Andy pulls into the campsite she never knew her life would change in that instance.
The chemistry between Kennedy & Andy is off the charts but can two people who live such different lives find a way to make it work. Watching them figure it out is fun to watch and you can’t help find yourself cheering on this couple because they are that great together.

This was a wonderful book! I am a sucker for a hockey romance and Jami is one of my favorite authors. Andy realizes at the end of the season that he has a lot of growing up to do and coming to terms with his lack of a team mentality. He doesn't really realize what he is doing because he is a rookie and wants to make a spot for himself. He rents an RV to spend time camping and coming to terms with his past, present and what he wants his future to be.

Kennedy is a fellow camper and a rep for a company that makes campers. She was raised in a nomadic only child family and loves the travel as well as meeting new folks. She doesn't want children and doesn't want to settle in one place. As time goes on, Kennedy helps Andy with sorting through all his issues and helps him form a relationship with his teammate and brother.

This is such a good story showing that people can and will change when faced with the right reasons. I highly recommend this book!
