Travis Morgan is thrilled to encounter the one woman who's never failed to get his blood pumping. Seeing Alicia Davis again brings it all their fierce academic rivalry, and the fact that he never followed through on his erotic fantasies about her.
Alicia can't resist Travis's smoldering sensuality - or the opportunity to finally bed the man who starred in so many of her lustful daydreams in college. Unable to avoid the temptation to best Travis one more time, Alicia plans to submit to one night of pure pleasure and then leave Travis empty-handed and craving more.
When Travis wakes up and realizes Alicia's played him, the gloves are off, and the game heats up as they each try to emerge on top - by whatever means necessary....
Lilly Cain is a wild woman with a deep throaty laugh, plunging necklines and a great lover of all things sensual - perfume, chocolate, silk! She never has to worry about finding a date or keeping a man in line. She keeps her blonde hair long and curly, wears beautiful clothes and loves loud music. Lilly lives her private life in the pages of her books.
When not pretending to be Lilly, I am a single mom who loves reading and writing, dabbling in art and loving and caring for my two daughters. I love romance and the freedom erotic fantasy provides my imagination. I love the chilling moments in my novels as much as the steaming hot interludes. My stories are an escape and a release. I hope that they can give you that power, too.
Story: FAIRLY GOOD Intimacy Level: VERY SPICY Enjoyment: GOOD
THOUGHTS
I had different emotions while reading No Reservations. I enjoyed the physical interaction between Alicia and Travis, however, the storyline wasn't as gripping for me personally. Alica and Travis has a past as they've known each other since college. For both, each was the one that got away, but what makes them more interesting, they had a sort of sexual attraction rivalry as well, which seems to continue once they reconnected again years later
The storyline felt as though it needed more for my personal taste. I always love stories where the past reconnects and finds love, but Alica and Travis's had a sort of simplicity to it that I didn't connect with a 100%. Although I express how I felt about the storyline, I think the author did a good job with both Alica and Travis's sexual attraction and encounters, as I was entertained by them. Also the cat and mouse games played with their rivalry to date was interesting.
Overall, a likeable read and I still would recommend this as a quickie read that still oozes sexual chemistry.
Considering how short this story is I am surprised how much other than sex they managed to pack it. The sex obviously was the main focus of the story and it was pretty spicy. They managed to throw in some D/s action, anal play & bondage on top of the vanilla sex which considering it is so short that is really impressive.
I have never rated a short story more than 3 stars and i wont today, i will say though that is was good, entertaining & sexy.
I would recommend this book and i would read more by this author.
This was quick and fun! I loved the idea of a woman scorned wanting to seek revenge. The cat and mouse games between Travis and Alicia were hot and sexy. The chemistry between Alicia and Travis melted the pages. And for such a short story, the amount of sex scenes the reader gets is pretty amazing. They were smoking hot! However, I wish the story was a little more developed - a little longer for me to be able to form a connection with the characters.
Overall, this was a hot and quick read. I recommend it to anyone who wants to read a short novella with steamy sex scenes.
Travis Morgan is having trouble getting a flight out to Boston to spend time with his buddies from college. When he gets to speak to management of the travel agency; the name stirs up old memories and longing.
"Alicia Davis - I'd know that voice anywhere."
Alicia, remembering all too well the time she and Travis spent in college decides to help an old friend out but there is a catch. Travis will get his ticket to Boston in exchange for something Alicia wants. The two meet at the airport and the instant connection/attraction leads them to room 301. A passionate night is spent but Travis is left alone in the morning with nothing but a message on the bathroom mirror.
"Too bad you missed the flight. Now we are even. Game over."
Travis, having felt more than a sexual connection with Alicia, seeks her out and decides the game isn't over, it's just beginning.
"He was intelligent, charming, funny. He was sexy. And he'd made her feel so good. Dangerous."
No Reservations was a fun read for being so short. Travis and Alicia have a great chemistry that is not only sexy but charming with their playfulness and willingness to take a chance on each other. The games are still on but the rules have changed.
"The game, their relationship, whatever you wanted to call it. It was on and she wanted to play, to compete, to race with his man and never stop."
A copy of this book was provided to me by the publisher for an honest review at SeductiveMusings.blogspot.com.
This was a fun fast read with two winning characters whose unfinished business kept getting in the way of the happy-ever-after they didn’t even know they wanted. The setup was simple: Travis needed to fly home immediately, Alicia was the only one with available seats with her business jet service. They’d been attracted to each other back in college, but their cut throat competitions for the best grades had wrecked their chances at a future together and they’d gone their separate ways....until now. It’s obvious the attraction is still there, and they’re both unattached. But can they get beyond their past to have that future together at last?
I still can’t believe this story was only 15,000 words. The author did a wonderful job at not only the original setup and rejoining of their competition, but also filling in the blanks of their shared past without spending too much time telling instead of showing. I felt like I knew what was going on in both Alicia and Travis’ minds, and why they were behaving so stubbornly, even though all I wanted was them to realize that they were meant to be together. The sex scenes were explicit, as expected, but the feelings were genuine and the outcome well earned. I definitely wish that No Reservations had been longer, but only because I wanted to continue following Alicia and Travis in their new life together, not because I felt like anything had been missing up until the end of the story. It was well-structured and an enjoyable read, with characters I hope will turn up in another story by this author in the near future.
When Travis Morgan fails to book his flight to Boston for his "Boys Weekend", he finds himself asking a favor from his college classmate and secret crush, Alicia Davis. When he has the opportunity to spend a few hours with her in an airport hotel room, he thinks he's fantasies have finally come true.
Alicia Davis is reminded of all the reasons she had a crush on Travis when they were in college, but she also remembers what men like him do to women like her. She figures she'll get her one night with Travis and go on her merry way. But Travis changes the rules to their game and Alicia finds herself risking the one thing she can't afford to.
Travis and Alicia certainly were combustible, if the hotel room, hotel shower, her stairwell and bathroom can attest to. Why they never gave into the heat in college is unbelievable. Alicia was burned by her ex-husband and Travis by a married woman he thought was single. They both came into their "relationship" playing a game, which bugged me. Seemed that was something they should have done in college, rather than doing it as adults...especially given the past bad relationship. And while I could understand those past relationships tainting them, I think the game just fed into their insecurities and caused them to unnecessarily hurt the other person.
For a short 40 page read, it had some outstanding sex, but I wanted more story development between the Travis and Alicia. I think if I had that, I would have like the characters a bit more.
No Reservations is a quick read and while I enjoyed it I felt like it was lacking something.
Alicia and Travis knew each other since college. They've always been competitive and were always trying to best each other. Now after years of not seeing each other, they meet again. They've always felt the sexual tension between each other but now they're finally going to do something about it.
The story was pretty short and full of sex. And while I loved how they already had the connections so we didn't have to go through the whole scene of 'introducing each other' I still felt like something was missing. Maybe it's just something that in my taste and perhaps other people will feel the book is perfect but I just felt like something was missing. The story ended on a good note but I feel like there is so much more to there story; so much they have to learn about each other.
Despite that, I still would recommend this book to readers. Especially if you're looking for a fast, sexy read.

My Review: Okay, big hint when going into this book. It's only 15,000 words and erotica. No, there's not a whole lot of story line to this one, but what is there is pretty decent. Back in college when Travis and Alicia knew each other, they had a competitive relationship. When they reconnect so does that relationship. Their bedroom play definitely has an edge to it that reflects that, which is fun. They have moments of playfulness, especially at the end of the novella that I really loved.
I'll admit I was a little confused about what exactly happened in college that had Alicia out for revenge in the first place, but once I decided to ignore that, I was able to sit back and enjoy the book. It's pretty hot, especially the massage scene...just don't expect much depth to it. But you know, for an hour's read, this one was pretty good. I received a complementary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
No Reservations was a darling little romp of a read...cute, quick and hot!
Travis and Alicia went to college together where they often competed against one another in everything from class projects to drinking games. They never went beyond this competition, however. And now, when they unexpectedly land in each others' lives several years later, Alicia sees Travis as a regret that she'd like to rectify. Travis, too, always wished he'd made his move on Alicia and is more than willing to engage her in a few rounds...but the stakes are much higher than in college...
I enjoyed the story line and the love scenes were well done. It was well written and engaging but I was left wanting more. I realize this was only a novella and therefore short, but I wanted more character development as well as relationship development. This is part of a series, so perhaps I will get more about Travis and Alicia? Still, I really enjoyed it and will read Ms. Caine again.
I’ve never read anything by Lilly Cain, but when I saw this up on NetGalley, I knew I had to read it. No Reservations is a novella length story and was a fun and sexy read.
I have to say I really liked both Alicia and Travis, and liked them together even more. The fact Alicia wanted to get Travis back for something from college was a little funny to me. I will say I loved they both were attracted to one another in college, yet never got a chance to act on it. Luckily all these years later, they have no problem acting on those feelings and desires. The chemistry between Alicia and Travis was pretty hot and I look forward to reading more books from Lilly Cain in the future.
The official ebook release date for No Reservations was October 29, 2012 and can be purchased from your favorite online retailer.
I had higher hopes for this. I mean, revenge smut...yes, please.
Alicia and Travis (on a side note, I had to go back and look up his name because I had already forgotten...not a good sign) had a competitive relationship in college -- mostly academic, but there was some unresolved attraction thrown in. For whatever reason, he didn't respond to a message/invitation she sent him and she had felt like a woman scorned ever since.
So of course, they run in to each other, have lots of sex and all is forgiven.
Yup, that was it.
I don't regret reading it, it helped me pass a rainy Saturday afternoon but that's pretty much all I can say about it. It was what it was. **shrugs**

Review:
This was my first book by Lilly Cain. I chose to read it for a few reasons. The first reason is that it is published by Carina Press and I have had pretty good luck with their authors. Another reason was that it is a novella and so could be quickly read. I like novellas because you get a taste for the author’s style without having to invest in a full-length novel without knowing if you would read this author in the future. Chances are that if the novella is good, a full-length novel would be as well. I also have featured Ms. Cain on the blog before and have not yet had a chance to read her, so I jumped on this opportunity.
A bit of background … Travis has to get to Boston fast and procrastinated until it was too late to get a flight to his destination. Enter Alicia. She is a former college classmate and now owns her own modest private jet company. The two connect over the phone as Travis tries to get a flight and Alicia tries to accommodate his needs. Both have a history of competitive tendencies and the years apart have done nothing to tame these proclivities. Almost immediately the competition is back on. And Travis finds himself looking forward to his meeting with Alicia … someone he would have liked to get to know better; a second chance a possibility now.
Alicia is somewhat of the same mind set. However, she is a bit jaded. She has been divorced for about a year from a guy that was a jerk and her memory of Travis, although luscious, is not all that much better. She remembers him as delectable and very much someone that would be fun to hook up with, but his games and deceptions to win while in class still sting. What’s a girl to do with someone who she desires and also is a thorn in her side? Set out to seduce him and leave, of course! Sha! That would be my obvious plan of attack. LOL
The inevitable happens and Travis ends up jilted in the hotel room. Except both end up feeling more than anticipated; not to mention satisfied beyond anything each ever thought possible. Alicia may think that she has won this round and that the game has finally come to a close, but Travis has only just begun. And he is playing for much more than Alicia ever thought possible. Unfortunately the two have a lot of misunderstood issues with one another and unless they can put it all on the table and clear the air, much more is just not going to happen. Sometimes stubbornness is not the best quality to have.
I enjoyed my time spent with Travis and Alicia. The characters were likeable and the story was fast moving. You can definitely read this fast to kill a couple of hours and come away feeling satisfied. But as much as I enjoyed the read, I felt like there was something within the story that fell flat. I am not sure what it is exactly, but it could be that the characters acted slightly childishly. Travis, as successful as e is in business and negotiating makes a lot of “high school” assumptions and just disappears with his tail between his legs without getting to the bottom of his thoughts. Alicia behaves similarly when she orchestrates her plan to seduce Travis. For a woman who has learned her lesson in love following a divorce and a new, successful outlook on life, she seems to be stuck. I liked tat her character was strong, but paired with the fact that she is gun-ho to get busy in her new life, she reacts initially to Travis in a way that I would describe as the “old” Alicia.
Childish behavior aside, the story is still worth the read and a good way to experience Ms. Cain’s style if you have not before. If you have, then this story should be an automatic read. I am a little confused about the series title BAD GIRLS KNOW because I didn’t view Alicia as a bad girl. But the sex between Travis and Alicia is steamy and the attraction is hot. I enjoyed that each scene between the two was a bit different form the rest. And for only a handful of pages, there was plenty of sex. Overall, this book is a good read that you will likely find enjoyable.
(eBook copy provided by author/tour company in exchange for an honest review.)
When I read the premise of No Reservations, I instantly got the impression that we were talking about a seriously hot and cute romantic story. Rivals as students, Travis and Alicia meet each other after many years, and all the passion their rivalry was hiding, suddenly explodes. The premise couldn't be more misleading I'm afraid... Because although the story is in truth that, No Reservations is so small that no story actually unfolds. There's just sex. It's almost like those adult movies, where everyone knows and wants to see it for the sex, but there's also some basic plot, movies I usually call porn with a screenplay.
To understand how small a story this one is, imagine that I started it in bed, as a light reading before I fell asleep, and I finished it in a matter of an hour... You can easily imagine, that when we are talking about a 50 pages long story, where the sex plays a major part and there are like 4 sex scenes in there, there's no much room for an actual plot to unfold. Travis and Alicia fall immediately in bed after we're only 10 pages in the story and they just keep doing it until the very end. Which I have no problem with, but let's face it, No Reservations, is just about sex and nothing else apart from that. So if you're into that kind of book, try it. If like me, you expect for something more than a simple reason for the couple to fall in bed, look for something else.
So, I won't even say anything about the plot or the character development. Both elements are simple non existent. Even if the premise promises something really good, believe me, this book doesn't deliver it. And it's a pity, because the whole idea, if a little further explored, could transform this book into something amazing.
As it is, when I can't connect with the characters even in a basic level, no matter how hot the sex scenes, they just leave me unimpressed. So, I don't know if it's just me or if indeed, the sex scenes were rushed and nothing extraordinary. And talking about sex, I saw that this book was tagged somewhere as BDSM, which I'm afraid is not... Except if you count the use of a sex toy as a restrainment as BDSM or pinning someone down as kinky. I don't really know...
All in all, No Reservations was nothing like what I expected it to be, too small for my taste or for any plot to be unfolded. The good thing about it though is the fact that it is so small, that at least you don't spend much time trying to finish it. You'll be done with it in a matter of an hour.
No Reservations by Lilly Cain (Bad Girls Know #1) was a quicky bedtime story. When I say bedtime story, I don’t mean sleepy time, I mean lady porn! If you know you need to get in the mood for some sexy times, pick this up about an hour before. It’s light on story, heavy on sex.
Travis and Alicia had a big academic rivalry in college. They both had fantasies about each other, but never acted upon them. Cut to 10 years later. Travis needs to get last minute tickets to Boston, he calls a small airline when all the larger ones are booked and gets the owner on the phone–and he recognizes the voice. It’s Alicia.
What follows is lots and lots of fucking. And more fucking. Oh, and then some more. Not that I’m complaining……..
So they continue their rivalry, and play some games with each other (like the first one to say “please” loses. There is mild BDSM, anal and toys. Considering there was only like 40ish pages, there was a LOT of sex, and a little story too. I would have actually liked to see it developed more.
Likes:
-Hot, short, get-you-in-the-mood read. -The rivalry and games were fun. -A little kink, but not all the way. -A brief story with an initial rivalry, and a misunderstanding.
Dislikes:
-I would have liked it to be longer with a little more development to balance out the sex.
Rating: (for a short story) 3.75 stars, 5 for heat.
For such a short story, there was a lot of sex packed in, and a pretty good story. You just need to know that you are reading it for one reason, and one reason only. I liked the games they played, and would have enjoyed this more if it were expanded to a novella with double the pages.
Recommended for a quick little sexy story to get you in the mood, with enough story to not make you feel like you are just reading porn.
2.5 stars ... I rounded to three cuz it entertained me.
So... No Reservations is a novella. Travis Morgan needs to get to Boston last minute and there are no flights. He throws himself on the mercy of Alicia Davis. The girl he lusted after in college and hasn't seen since. Little does he know that Alicia had the same feelings towards him.
She makes a deal to get him onto one of her charter's but she wants one night with him.
Here's where I got confused. In chapter 2 she says It should feel good, finally getting back at him for embarrassing her in college. At this point I didn't understand her reactions. As a reader I didn't know what went down in college and there isn't much information on it in chapter one, so I thought her reactions were harsh and unwarranted at this point. AND THEN... when I found out why she was mad, I was all O_o
This only made me sympathize with Travis in the end. There are a few more situations of missed opportunity to communicate that stretches this novella out.
The sexy stuff is definitely sexy. It was well-written, I just didn't buy into the situation that the author created initially. I'll for sure check out other things by this author though.
This is definitely something to pick up if you're looking for sexy, hot and short.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy for review.
Travis knows Alicia since college, and it's been years since the last time he crossed paths with her. He is really stressed out and is looking forward to seeing his friends over the weekend, well that is if he can find a flight. It just so happens everything is booked, and no matter his demands or bribes for that matter, it doesn't look like he is going anywhere.
Alicia gets on the phone to deal with the customer demanding to speak with the boss, and is surprised when she realizes the customer is none other than Travis. She doesn't miss this new opportunity to get even with him. The one thing she doesn't expect is that getting even, can mean falling in love too.
I really enjoyed this short story. It's an enemies-to-lovers, with steamy scenes and some fun dialogue.
Blurb: Travis Morgan is thrilled to encounter the one woman who's never failed to get his blood pumping. Seeing Alicia Davis again brings it all back: their fierce academic rivalry, and the fact that he never followed through on his erotic fantasies about her.
Alicia can't resist Travis's smoldering sensuality—or the opportunity to finally bed the man who starred in so many of her lustful daydreams in college. Unable to avoid the temptation to best Travis one more time, Alicia plans to submit to one night of pure pleasure and then leave Travis empty-handed and craving more.
When Travis wakes up and realizes Alicia's played him, the gloves are off, and the game heats up as they each try to emerge on top—by whatever means necessary...
Where's the BAD GIRL - A solid 3 STARS It's been years since college rivalries Travis Morgan and Alicia Davis have seen one another, and for at least one of them their departing left a sour taste behind. But when Travis needs to get out of town for a college trip and realizes that Alicia is the contact to help him, he's ecstatic to see the girl who sent a thrill through him all those years ago. Seeing her brings back the old rivalry and all his fantasies that he never got a chance to share with her. Alicia's surprised to hear from Travis and knows this is the opportunity of a lifetime to set her plan in motion to take revenge on him for cheating during a college assignment and leaving her high and dry afterwards. But she never imagined that her own needs and temptations would take front seat and change the game for both of them. Now that Alicia has spent one night with Travis she questions if she should pursue something more or call it was it was– a spectacular one night stand. Now that the gloves are off it seems as though their very heated encounter is more than just sexual, but the opportunity for a deeper relationship. My Take: It's funny, as I sat down to write about NO RESERVATIONS, my husband was watching the food and travel show NO RESERVATIONS on T.V.
If you've ever fantasized about the one that got away; the one you wanted to kiss, and love soooo bad then this short story will bring back all of that. Blistering (well, maybe splinters from the stairs) sex, intense competition and misunderstanding all play a part in making this 15,000 word story a gripping read. I read it in the car to and from a dinner. It was very engrossing. The characters are interesting, they felt anachronisms, from the 90's maybe. But that was just a feeling. Alicia is pretty vindictive, but I guessTravis finds that a challenge.
There's a little BDSM play, but I didn't get the feeling it was anything they would get into seriously -- just a little different naughtiness. Interesting Short Story.
This novella was a quick but annoying read. The story revolves around Travis Morgan and Alicia Davis, two old college rivals that meet up again in the future when Travis is in desperate need of transportation to Boston.
The dialogue was pretty good; fast, quick quips and good-natured teasing, but to be honest, the plot kind of dragged a little bit.
Alicia mistakenly thinks that Travis sabotaged her back in college and is now paying him back in kind. The entire thing feels so childish and completely unromantic, if you ask me. All the back and forth mind games got a little bit old, at least for me, who is someone who abhors games when it comes to the dating scene. The sex was steamy, but again, I couldn't really get past the mind games to really see what they found remotely sexy about each other. If you want a quick read and enjoy people playing tricks on other people while trying to imply they actually want a relationship together, then go for it. Not terrible, but not my kind of romantic story.
Alicia always wanted Travis for herself but it never happened when they were both in college. They pushed each other with their competitive natures but she never seemed to catch his eye otherwise… Now she has a chance to get even with him by holding a chance for her private plane service to get him to his weekend with the boys… A quick hot night happens which she runs away from the next morning even though she wanted to stay.
Travis was happy to enjoy some fun with Alicia but realizes when she isn't there in the morning that he wants a chance to have more time with her. She has always gotten his blood pumping and one taste of her just isn't enough for him. He tracks her down and makes his presence known. They are a well matched pair and I wouldn't mind getting more glimpses of them as they progress forward.
All in all a quick hot read and I enjoyed it very much. I'll keep an eye out for more in the series and from the author. Thanks to NetGalley.com and Carina Press for letting me read this in exchange for my honest review.
In college Alicia dreamed of having Travis to herself but never seemed to catch his eye in the dating department, or so it seemed. They kept each other in check with their competitive natures but this never spilled into the bedroom much to Alicia's disappointment.
Roll forward several years....
Travis needs to book a flight for a yearly reunion with his college buddies and soon realizes Alicia is his only hope for a flight. After wishing he could have had her in college he decides time to make up for it. Alicia has decided it's time to seduce Travis in the ultimate payback game.
After a very steamy night in a hotel Travis has not only missed his flight but finds himself alone with a message on the bathroom mirror saying "Game Over". Oh no, now he's had her the game isn't over until he decides....
All in all I enjoyed this short sexy read. The sexual tension which has built up over the years is still ever present and is fulfilled with hot passion. The potential in the relationship was intriguing and I found myself disappointed because the book ended as I wanted more! Will be looking out for more reads from this author.
I read this short story/novella in a day, and had to write my review right away because I know tomorrow I'll have forgotten what I read. And that pretty much sums it up for me. It was certainly pleasant, but nothing outstanding (good or bad). I think that's because it is about 90% sex and while that is smoking hot and at times unusual and varied, it's not enough for me in a book. There was such great potential in Alicia and Travis' relationship - I loved the idea of a woman (possibly unintentionally) scorned seeking out revenge, but it wasn't developed enough. A good read for someone looking for a quick, hot novella and not much else.
Note: I received a copy of this book from the publisher for review purposes.
Travis and Alicia were rivals in college. Both were smart and business minded. Alicia came on to him once at the end of senior year and he turned her down. When he calls her company 10 years later for a last minute flight to Boston to see his friends. She sees her opportunity to get what she wants (his bod) and to finally get back at him from the rejection all those years ago.
So this is incredibly short! You could read it in like an hour or two. My only complaint with this book is that it’s too short to really give us a sense of who our characters are and why they are good for each other. Basically they just have a bunch of really awesome sex and are like let’s give this a try.
I thought it was cute short story/novella, I guess is what you would call it. Sweet. Not much else to say because there wasn't a whole lot of story. But the author did a good job of giving enough back story so you know where these characters are coming from. I would have continued to read if it was a more involved story. I like her writing and how she tells the story. Not so much into fantasy at this time, though I have been in the past so not sure if I will read her other material, but its definitely a possibility.
I liked the story, but I definitely wish it had been longer. The chemistry between Travis and Alicia was pretty intense and the love scenes were very steamy. I just didn't care for the ending. I was left with the sense that the competitiveness between the couple would eventually be their downfall. Despite that, it was very well written and I look know I will be looking up more books by this new to me author.
I mostly enjoyed No Reservation's enemies-to-lovers story. Although it's only 40 pages or so most of those 40 pages have sex scenes! With any kind of short-ish story it left me with a "I wanted more" kind of feeling. Although I liked their competitiveness and their scenes together were scorching hot but I really need more of a story to really enjoy a book.
If you are looking for a short but deliciously steamy read, then you should pick up a copy of Lilly Cain’sNo Reservations. To read my review in its entirety, please click HERE.
Novella that was just too short. I really liked the 2 characters and their game they played with each other. The tension and attraction between the two was very clear and quite hot. I would definitely read more from this author.
I'm glad this was a short book or I might have stopped reading it. If you want a quick and easy, quick-to-bed predictable story, delve into No Reservations. It's a great book for a reader who wants more sex scenes than character development and more predictability than plot line.
