Darker: A Dark Reunion Series Duet Part 1

Rate this book
Some monsters hunt in the dark. Others own the stage.

Kimberly Monroe is The Veil’s star—an untouchable fantasy wrapped in sin and silk. She moves like a dream, commands like a queen, and survives like a woman who knows better than to get involved.

Until him.

Not a customer. Not a man with money to burn. Something worse.

She isn’t supposed to witness the body crumple in the alley, the slick red smile of death. She isn’t supposed to lock eyes with the predator who did it. And she definitely isn’t supposed to be standing when he starts toward her.

But then Aden Blake steps between them.

Aden—ruthless, powerful, a man who decided long ago that Kimberly was his. The air shifts. The world tilts. And everything she thought she knew about power, control, and safety shatters.

Because Aden isn’t the scariest thing in his world.

That honor belongs to Dante—his enforcer, his blade in the dark. A man carved from silence and ruin. A man whose stare doesn’t send her pulse racing—it slows, heavy, deliberate.

Like a warning.

Now, Kimberly is trapped in a world where power is a weapon, desire is dangerous, and monsters don’t lose their prey.

She knows better than to get involved.

But something tells her it’s already too late.

They’re the ones who smile while they pull the trigger.

About the author
My journey into paranormal romance emerged from dark and gritty beginnings. Writing became my refuge at the age of eight, offering an escape from a painful environment shaped by abuse and neglect in all its forms. Books were my haven; I found real happiness only when I was lost in a world of scary or adventurous stories. Throughout middle and high school, I devoured every immersive book I could find and, almost accidentally, uncovered not only the freedom to create my own dark and dazzling worlds but also a profound need to do so.

Since publishing my first series, I've connected with readers who are as strong, smart, bold, and funny as the characters they love. They are fiercely individualistic and unapologetically authentic. Much like the journey and stories that reared me, diverse and vocal romance readers will always be one of my greatest sources of inspiration. I write to celebrate that sense of self and to help keep the spirit of adventure, identity, and community alive. For me, finding the courage to publish wasn’t just about telling stories I love—it was a way to give back to a world that taught me the joy of living authentically, unapologetically, and fearlessly when I had nowhere else to turn.

OMG, a human who is working at a vampire club. Aden has claimed her, but Dante wants her. He can not help but want her.
The story that starts developing between Kimmy & Dante has me so invested. The characters are so well written that you forget they are not real people. And I love the storyline!
So ready for the next book!

Slow burn

Loved the tension and slow burn between Kimberly and Dante. Includes tropes that don’t usually interest me, but this story had me fully engaged. Great start to series! Not 5 stars because of grammatical issues in some places.
