After the bodies of six young girls were discovered in a shipping container that had been dumped in a scrapyard, FBI agent Blake Wilder is summoned onto the horrific scene. A closer inspection of the bodies reveals strange markings, similar to Spenser's victims in Sweetwater Falls.
Could it be the markings used by the ruthless Yokai Syndicate, led by the shadowy figure called Enenra? The Syndicate responsible for the disappearance and death of hundreds of young girls over the years.
Fearing blood in the streets and containers full of young girls’ bodies popping up everywhere, Blake reluctantly turns to her old ally, Fish, for help.
As betrayal and deceit surrounds her at every turn, Blake isn’t sure who she can trust. With the help of her former colleague Spenser Song, and Caitlin Tanaka will Blake be able to put an end to The Syndicate’s sadistic crimes for good?
It seems to be reunion time in the Seattle field office for Blake Wilder. Unfortunately, with death knocking on their doorstep, the reunion may be short-lived....

This series is pretty good. The only problem I have is that the author seems to be getting some of her ideas from Criminal Minds episodes. Sometimes the twist is pretty obvious chapters before the FMC figures it out. Like the mole was pretty apparent from the beginning. I do have to hand it to her though, the writing and the plot has gotten better with each book. I also like that they are based in Seattle (Washingtonian born and raised.) I’m excited to read the next book because I need to know who the mystery serial killer is.
All of that aside, this series is an enjoyable read. I really like the relationship between Fish and Blake. The characters are pretty well developed and the team has a good dynamic. The growth of Blake as a character has been interesting, especially as she deals with the duties of her job. I think that anybody looking for an FBI series with strong female characters and some interesting cases, this would be a great pick.
I have thoroughly enjoyed each book I have read. The plot twists keep me hooked. I am disappointed that I have finished this last book and don’t have more waiting for me as I have binged all your books. I just have the Paxton series left. Then I will have to find other books to read. I just have one question. Having more than one series that you are writing, do you ever find yourself getting your characters mixed up? How are you ever able to not morph one character into another. I have loved reading each and every one of these books. Please don’t stop writing.
This book tugged at my heart strings. The story has a lot of sex trafficing in it. It sems this just keeps getting worse inthe world. They ages of the girls and boys taken, are never comaidered. I had to know the end, so it was hard to puf the book down. The hunt and action happened fast. Well written by ElLe Gray, as all her books are. I am a great fan. I keep up with her writting. Read this one now and you will ne hooked.
The Silent Threat is another great story in the Blake Wilder series. This fast-paced mystery incorporates Spenser Song, the star of another of Gray's series of books, as well as other strong women. I particularly like the fact that this book focuses on four strong women law enforcement agents getting the job done.
These women do not back down from anyone or anything. So much going on at once, Fish has everyone's back looking out for all his girls. Looking forward for more information on who's responsible for Lucas injuries. Rick and Nina got the mole, I think it really hurt Caitlin that she messed the backstabbing of one her own. We have to get justice for Spencer.

The Silent Threat(Blake Wilder FBI Mystery Thriller Book 18)
OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I could not put this book down, I read it from cover to cover. I seriously thought Blake was going to die this time, but she survived and saved a whole bunch of girls in the process. It's crazy, I truly hope there are more Blake Wilder books coming.
Blake and her team take on the worst of the worst, Human Traffickers, those that prey on the innocent. Blake reconnects with an old team mates from New York. But there is always a twist and this time they are dealing with a possible mole on their team. Already pre-ordered 19, looking forward to the continuing story line.
I enjoy reading all of Elle Gray FBI series, she is a fantastic writer who catches my interest in all of her books. I have read all of her FBI series and the extended series that continued from Blake Wilder series like Pastor's and Olivia Wilder series. I wait in anticipation for the next book in each series to come out.
I enjoy strong, kickass women and liked that for this one, all these women came together to dismantle one of the most atrocious crimes imaginable. I am still waiting for her sister to play a big part and join her eventually. Till the next one, until then, I'll keep Fish in my heart, for a past criminal, he is one that I could forgive!
I really needed to read this book as I needed to find out what happened to the team member. I was worried that he was dead. He was beaten to the point that it was serious. While they were not allowed to investigate this situation Blake found a way to get them involved in trafficking case. I liked the story and outcome.
This was a wonderful story about Blake and Spenser putting their lives on the line to find captured girls. There was much suspense and action and enjoyed this story and couldn’t put it down until I was done. Thank you for this excellent story.
I love Blake Wilder. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. Elle Gray is an excellent author. She keeps you guessing & her books are hard to put down. I love reading everything she writes.
Blake's team is under attack. But staying on the sidelines was never part of the plan. But death threats, murdered witness and a mole on the team. How can Blake or Spencer survive?
Another Blake Wilder thriller. Can't wait to read the next one in the series.
There is always a lit.of.action and suspense in the Blake Wilder series which keeps me coming back for more. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
One situation is resolved successfully as to victims, and the underlying continuing uncertainty about the team’s ephemeral stalker/hunter moves closer to a potential unmasking - but only incrementally.
I really enjoyed reading book 18. We got to know new characters and reconnected with ones from another series. Elle Gray hooks her readers from the beginning.
I really enjoyed the combination of FBI & Missing Persons team members in this story. Of course, rooting for these law enforcement teams to break up the sex trafficking rings was consistent. It is well written and kept me reading each day.
This is another great book in this series. Hopefully soon she will figure this madman and get justice for her team member. This series is wonderful if you want great books.
Not very realistic in the real world there is no such thing as an all female squad be in military or especially law enforcement I am a female and I know men dominate all forces if you had thrown a male in the mix it might have been more believable
Blake Wilder always makes you anxious for the next adventure.
I really enjoy the Blake Wilder series. The cast of characters is interesting and their interactions add depth to the case investigation. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Kept me engaged from the start. The story is written in such a way that you feel like you know the characters. The story line wasn't as good as the others in the series but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I'm on to the next one!
There are always surprises a BD just enough dead ends to keep the story intriguing. I like this series when I've want to t read sobering that doesn't take too much time or thinking. This series is interesting, easy to follow and relaxing
She loves to antagonize The people that are so off the chart And fills the need to put a stop to all Of the killings they are doing in her Town. I feel HER PAIN.
A good book, but I was hoping that the Sgt friend of Paxton's would play a role in book. Blake needs a love interest, she is becoming too career oriented, harsh and almost unlikable.
