Working It Out

Rate this book
Most girls dream of slipping into a magical gown, running off to an extravagant ball, and kissing a so-called prince. But when Grace Warren is invited to a black tie event and a handsome stranger steals a kiss from her, she considers it highway robbery. If she never sees the presumptuous low-life again, it will be too soon.

Weeks later, when Seth Tuttle hobbles into her rehab clinic, Grace wants nothing more than to pawn him off on another therapist. Unfortunately, her wishes came true about as often as ACL tears heal themselves, and Grace finds herself helping a man who doesn’t even remember kissing her. No one could blame her for making his therapy a little more painful than necessary, could they?

Working it Out is about two strangers discovering there’s more to each other than meets the eye, and that sometimes it’s in the working out of things that wishes really can come true.

A USA Today bestselling author of clean romance, Rachael Anderson is the mother of four and is pretty good at breaking up fights, or at least sending guilty parties to their rooms. She can't sing, doesn't dance, and despises tragedies. But she recently figured out how yeast works and can now make homemade bread, which she is really good at eating.

I read this book over a year ago and just realize I never officially reviewed it.  All I wrote was...
I love Rachael!! Cute, clean and fun!

And honestly that about sums it up.

Rachael Anderson is one of my favorite clean romance writers.  Her books always make me laugh and smile and sigh and Working It Out was no exception to that rule.

I loved how Grace and Seth's relationship starts on a chance meeting and then develops throughout the book.  It's not smooth sailing and makes for a very entertaining story.

If you enjoy "real romance" that is free of language and sex you should definitely read Working It Out!

I am a big fan of Rachael’s and was really looking forward to her newest book, Working It Out. The synopsis sounded fun and it did not disappoint. I loved our heroine Grace, I liked to see the changes she went through and how she grew as a character. I also liked Seth, I love confident guys. Grace and Seth had some great chemistry and fun moments between them. I liked how their relationship progressed, totally realistic. I like that their attraction for each other didn’t overshadow the story; they had a lot more things to like about one another than their looks. It felt like they were able to build up a friendship (from a fun awkward start) into a relationship that you can easily believe will last. I liked how they brought out the best in each other and how they were willing to make changes and take risks. Just a great couple.

Rachael’s stories are always full of witty dialog, charming characters and stories with depth. I love that they are positive and upbeat, but always seem to have something special about them. Her characters are easy to relate to and it’s fun to learn from them. This was a fun read, I couldn’t put it down once I started and was grateful my kids decided to take long naps today so I could curl up and enjoy the ride. This is definitely one I would recommend and one I will be re-reading!

Rachael, when is your next book coming out?? ;)

Grace is pretty predictable. She doesn't like to take risks, has a great and stable job, and knows what a guy is like based on his name. Seth is completely opposite and is used to being persistent and going after what he wants. All of that equals a recipe for disaster.

I really liked Grace. I could understand her heartache and fears and loved how uptight she was at times, especially where Seth was concerned. I think most people blame themselves for things that happen in life that are really out of our control and I loved how hard she tried to make things right, even if only in her own mind. She really has such a giving heart, but protects it with a thick shell.

Seth was crazy!! I'm not a big risk-taker and had a hard time relating to that adrenaline rush that he seemed to be in constant need of. Of course, that causes him to be very impulsive in his everyday life too, which made the story very interesting. I really liked how he could draw out the best in people around him by just being himself. That is truly a gift!!

I LOVE this author's stories and this one didn't disappoint. I can't wait to see what she has up her sleeve next.

Content: mild kissing, but otherwise clean.

I really enjoy this author. She writes some great stories. I truly feel like most of the characters in her books could be my "friends." They are just people I would want to meet.

This book really had some serious elements. I enjoyed the beginning of the book and laughed out loud a lot. I loved her bother's journey through the book and how he truly learned to deal with the fact that he was in a wheel chair. I loved the fact that he too found love in this story.

Slight rant coming...

I thought Grace and Seth had great chemistry. But the last quarter of the book or so, just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. It stopped being funny(which I think also happened in Rachael's book 'Luck of the Draw') and became too serious. I think the fact that Seth was so reckless was something to be worried about. I think now of my sweet husband and our four children and I would be terrified if something bad happened to him. I also, know that something could happen just walking across the street. However, I don't think you increase the odds by doing crazy stunts. So with that in mind, I didn't like how it played out between Grace and Seth. I think Seth should of gone to Grace right away and be willing to stop being crazy. He did come to realize that you can still have "adventure" with out "crazy." It just got too heavy for me. I don't like thinking about ever losing my spouse or frankly reading a book where I can be reminded that I can. Maybe that sounds "crazy" but I need that happily ever after in a book, because I still believe in it.

Rant over.

I still liked the book, had a very hard time putting it down and am so grateful that I read it. It just got to serious for me.

I knew before I started reading this book that I would enjoy it. I have read a few of Rachael Renee Anderson's books in the past and have not found one that I didn't like.

Rachael does a wonderful job of creating characters that are easy to like. They seem like real people that you could find living down the street from you.

Grace is roped into helping out her partner by attending an auction to raise money for underprivileged children. The auction is for available bachelors, the women are bidding for a date. He has a girlfriend and doesn't want to go out with anyone else, even for a good cause. Grace is there to ensure that money goes to charity, and he stays in the good graces of his girlfriend. While there, a handsome man bids on her partner and then kisses her.

It doesn't take long for her to meet Seth. He is a daredevil who loves to enjoy life. They meet when he tears his ACL in a skiing trip. Seth comes to see Grace as his physical therapist. This leads to many funny situations. I smiled in many places and chuckled from time to time.

My favorite character wasn't one of the main two. Her name is Lanna, she is the young lady who runs the center for underprivileged children. At first I hoped she and Seth would find a happily ever after together, even thought they have feelings for each other of brother and sister. I changed my mind and love the part of the story that Lanna plays.

This book is cute and clean.

Working it Out is a fast-paced clean romance that will leave you smiling. I am a big fan of Rachael's book, so I knew this book would be as enjoyable as her other books. The characters are fun and unique. I really liked getting to know each one. Seth was very fun. Grace was a doll and I really liked her brother, Alec. He brought the perfect amount of conflict (not in a bad way) and helped me get to know Grace even more. When it came to Grace and Seth's relationship, I loved the compromises and the give and take that each of them brought to the relationship. I thought that was very real.

4.5 stars: What a fun, quick read!! I love Rachael Anderson's books so I'm glad to say that this one doesn't disappoint! Grace and Seth had an interesting first meeting which ended with her storming off and him shrugging it off. Grace was at a bachelor auction to bid on her co-worker, Cameron, since his fiance couldn't make it. Seth showed up and bid a large amount of money on him to help his friend, Lanna. Her charity was holding the fundraiser and she refused to allow him to help her financially so he figured this was a way she couldn't turn down his money. Grace was upset with him for outbidding her and she questioned why he would be there bidding on a bachelor so he kissed her to prove he wasn't gay.

Seth is into extreme sports and gets hurt a couple of weeks later and ends up with Grace as his physical therapist. You can read the excerpt from their next meeting below. Needless to say, Grace is not thrilled with him being her patient. Seth is persistent when he sees something he likes and he decides he likes Grace!

Their relationship was fun to read and made me laugh a lot. Seth is pretty laid back and helps to loosen Grace up. He's wealthy and likes to play hard. She's more serious and part of that has to do with her brother. She feels some guilt for something that happened with him years ago and she has to learn to accept the situation and how to handle her brother. Seth helps her with that. He's good for her but she has some major concerns with the choices he makes with his extreme sports addiction. I could relate to how Grace felt and, in her position, think I would have felt the same way. They do a good job of balancing each other out--he brings out the playful side of her and she brings out the serious side of him. I wasn't sure how or even if they would be able to work through the issues that came up. This is a fun book with a serious side as well and I highly recommend it!

This has to be my favorite Rachel Anderson book yet. I loved the characters, the story line and the sweet romance of not just Seth and Grace but another certain cute couple as well. It was a nice added touch that we got a little of Alec's story as well.

Seth was a truly hard character not to love and I liked that he was so down to Earth, honest and good. He was everything a good man should be and I have to say, as much as I love a bad boy, it is nice to read about a good boy once in a while too.

Grace was the more cautious one and for good reason after what happened to her brother and considering the line of work she did. I loved that even though she carried around a lot of guilt, she carried around a lot of love too.

Ms. Anderson has a knack for creating beautiful stories about hope, friendship and love that doesn't have all the drama most books seem to carry about with them these days. No, the characters aren't perfect and they have their issues and faults but they are realistic issues and faults and ones that don't come with a lot of angst and unwanted distress and I must say it is a nice and welcome change. We all need those loveable characters that melt our hearts, make us laugh, and those happily ever after endings that leave us with a smile on our faces and gladness in our hearts.

This is truly a perfect uplifting and heart warming read perfect for summer (or anytime!) and I look forward to reading more of Ms. Anderson's work in the future. If I didn't already like her work, this book truly would have sold me on the fact that Anderson is an up and coming name in the romantic comedy genre and one to keep an eye on.

I've been waiting FOREVER to get to Working It Out on my review schedule! It took ALL the self control I could muster to keep from reading it WAY ahead of time. I just love the way that Rachael writes a story and I'm always waiting for something new from her. Love, love, love.

Working It Out starts out with a chance encounter and unexpected kiss. That sounds like an awesome start to any book, right? :) Grace has this habit of finding the meanings for everyone's name and sort of judging them by that meaning. (Yea! that my name means "beloved friend" in French! Maybe I would pass muster with Grace!) When Grace officially meets Seth, she knows just by his name and his obnoxious behavior exactly what kind of man he is. Or does she?

I love the growing relationship that Grace and Seth form. Grace has to let her walls down and change the way she thinks. Seth has to learn how to see things from others point of view. I really enjoyed the depth that Grace's relationship with her brother brought to the story. There were some deeper meanings in the struggles all the characters faced and it just felt um, meatier? More substantial? More satisfying. Gee, I sound like I'm describing dinner or something. Well, if this book is dinner, it is WAY yummy and I want seconds.

The dialogue and characters all felt real to me. It's one of the gifts Rachael has, I think. I loved this sweet romance and I'm so glad I got to read it for this blog tour. You can pick Working It Out up for a screamin' deal right now too. $2.99! (see links below)

I don't read a lot of romance. In fact, I only read it when I am critiquing it. Rachael is in my critique group, so I read this. And I enjoyed it. While not a big romance fan, I do enjoy well-written books. Rachael is at the top of her form with this. Her characters were extremely well-drawn. Seth, the hero, seemed particularly dimensional to me, something I appreciated. It was an enjoyable, compelling story that drew me in and made me care about the characters.

Grace Warren likes her life just as it is, she's not looking to make any big changes. But one night at a bachelor auction, her life changes and it will never be the same. The only reason she went to the auction in the first place was that her co-worker, Cameron, begged her to bid on him after his fiance could no longer make it. Grace takes the time to get all ready for the black tie event, only to have some man outbid her for Cameron by a lot...what a jerk. Seth the jerk, sees only a beautiful woman that seems to have wanted to bid for the man he just bid an obscene amount of money for, he only wanted to get the money to the cause so that his friend Lanna would have to finally take his money. The woman is pretty, she's accused him of being gay, so he kisses her and doesn't regret it, even when she stomps from the room. Neither of them ever planned on seeing the other again, but when Seth is hurt while doing one of his daredevil tricks, Grace is recommended as the best physical therapist in Seattle. Grace never wanted to see Seth again and groans when she sees him waiting in the waiting room, but ever the professional, she chooses to treat him, even when he doesn't recognize her or apologize for the unwanted kiss - the kiss she can't get out of her mind. Will Grace be willing to even give Seth a chance? Or will he crash and burn for a second time?

I loved this book! Rachael Anderson is one of my very favorite clean romance authors, her characters are always interesting, full of life and seem as though they walk off the pages of her books so that you can get to know them. I love Grace and Seth, their story works so well. I love how they each bring out the best in each other. I love the story line, it's sweet, but you really don't know what's going to be coming or how it's going to turn out. I really enjoyed the ending and the way that both Grace and Seth learned something from their experiences and were both able to change. If you haven't read any of Rachael Anderson's other books, you'd better get started, because they are awesome!

Original review posted on my blog, here.

4.5 stars

I've read all of Rachael's books and actually own all of them as well. So, when I saw this book come up for a blog tour I was really excited to join.

I really loved how Grace and Seth meet. He is totally cocky and rude, but endearing too. She is only there out of loyalty for a friend and ends up in an interesting situation with him. She gets flustered, but still has enough confidence to walk away, even if she's basically running away.

I really liked these characters! Seth did take a while to understand some things and he was a little overconfident, but I still really liked him. He helps balance Grace out. Grace lives her life by playing it safe. She only concentrates on her career as a physical trainer and her brother, but nothing else. Seth is all about getting an adrenaline rush and does all these crazy stunts and extreme sports. He likes to live each day to the fullest. The only problem is that Grace has her reasons for why she chooses to live her life that way and Seth scares her. The supporting characters were also great, especially Alec.

The story moves at a pretty good pace. There were a few lulls, but then the story would pick up again. The romance was really sweet. There were a few tear-jerking and humorous moments as well. It was a perfect book to relax with.

If you enjoy reading great, clean romance, then definitely pick this up!

I loved this cute and clean romance. It was sweet. It also had elements that challenged you to think.

Grace is a hard working Physical Therapist. She is really good at what she does. She gets charged with helping a wealthy extreme sports bachelor, Seth, rehab after a sports accident. Where Grace is all professional and a no dating patient policy; Seth is let’s have fun at whatever comes my way mentality. They clash but still find themselves attracted to each other.

Grace’s brother, Alex, was in a skiing accident 10 years ago and has been a paraplegic ever since. She blames herself.

Seth’s best friend died of Cancer and asked Seth to take care of his sister Lanna. Seth takes life to its fullest because you never know when you will die and it keeps his best friend alive somehow.

Putting those two people together with their situations can be frustrating and downright funny. I love the humor and wit. I love the flirting. This could so be a movie. Definitely a romantic comedy! I would so go!!

For me, I tend to be like Grace. My hubby was in a motor cycle accident after we were married. He isn’t the same person. His leg is bent, yet it doesn’t stop him from trying. He doesn’t remember any of it. I worry when he is out that he may not come home or worse. But after years, you just have to keep moving and accept every day as a blessing and then the day after that too. So when I read this book, I loved it for placing humor on something so serious. Because you have to sometimes. You have to find compromises and you have to keep moving.

I recommend this to anyone wanting to find a clean and sweet romantic book.

Reviewed on Kathryn Cooper Writes

This book was read before my Brain Tumor surgery in August 2014. I should have posted a review before surgery, but life was hectic.

I LOVED this book! Reading the summary reminded me of the most amazing beginning to a romance book. They kissed! Before they even knew each other! I laughed and loved that part. That’s the way to start. They didn’t think they’d ever meet again, but then they did. It was funny to see how their relationship then went a little uncomfortable. I’m remembering fun times they spent together. I loved watching them go from strangers that once kissed to a built friendship.

I recommend Working it Out by Rachael Anderson to any of you that love to read the building of a fun relationship in a clean and cute way.

This is the way a clean romance should be. Fun dialogue, sweet story, nothing too deep, and it is CLEAN! Let me emphasize that point. There are way too many romances out there with profanity and people jumping in and out of beds, and this was a delightful escape! I found myself chuckling on more than one occasion. (There are way too many books out there with no comedy either). I have read at least one other book by this author, and this was my favorite of hers, hands down. Okay, so I knew what the ending would be, but the journey was quite a ride. I could identify with Grace, and I think the messages of the book are simple but inspiring.

This is a book that bravely examines the issues of disability and fear of living. I believe that anyone who enjoys romances will absolutely adore this book.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.

Working it Out is another really sweet romance from author Rachael Anderson. It's also another sign that it is possible to write sigh-worthy clean romances. Grace and Seth are two people who are so right for each other. They both are able to bring out the best in each other. I loved that the relationship built slowly. They essentially became friends first and that made them stronger.

I loved Seth and his outlook on life. I could understand Grace's hesitation with Seth's daredevil tendencies. Especially after we find out about what happened to her brother. I think that fear would be something that would be hard to get past. Their HEA was wonderful and the epilogue in the end was perfect!

While I loved the side romance, I wish that we could have seen more behind the scenes of how they got together. Lanna and Alec's story is definitely one I would want to read. I look forward to reading Ms. Anderson's next book!

I really enjoy this kind of story. Romantic with lots of verbal back and forth between Seth and Grace. I also enjoyed getting to know the characters. Both Seth and Grace have strengths and weaknesses. Grace is work-obsessed and guilt-stricken about her paraplegic brother but she's also determined and caring. Seth is outgoing and funny, but he's self-focused and takes a lot of risks. It was delightful to watch the too fall in love and change. A fun romance full of great laugh-out-loud moments that I can heartily recommend.

This was a cute and fun clean romance, but also had some depth to it. The characters actually took time to develop a relationship instead of falling in love at the drop of a hat, as is the case in many romance novels. I often have a hard time with contemporary stories, but this one I enjoyed.

Grace Warren lives a mellow life. Some would even call it boring; mundane, if you will. She's a physical therapist—one of the very best in her field, but aside from that, her life mostly consists of taking care of her paraplegic brother.

Grace's life changes when she's convinced to attend a charity event to help out a friend. At this event, Grace is kissed by a complete stranger. A handsome, suave, great-kissing stranger—but a stranger all the same. Grace doesn't even care to get more than his first name as she storms out. She just tries to forget about him and move on.

Moving on turns out to be a pretty impossible feat when, not more than days later, Seth ends up in her physical therapy office due to a skiing accident.

And doesn't remember her.

Grace is beyond frustrated. He's gorgeous, sarcastic, and stubborn. Everything he says is suggestive. Everything he does makes her want to screech. And yet... Grace finds herself attracted to him.

Thus, their whirlwind of a relationship begins.

This was my first read by Rachael Renee Anderson, and I was insanely impressed! I had my doubts because I normally don't read clean romance, and when I saw that this was LDS Fiction, I went into it with even more reservation. Imagine my surprise when I ended up falling in love with this story and the characters inside it! I guess I was expecting it to be something it wasn't—I don't know what, exactly. Maybe lack of flair, spark, or excitement? No matter. I was put in my place! Working It Out was fantastic!!!

The first thing that really stuck out with me was the romance, of course. I usually like my books down and dirty, which this book is very far from. And yet, it's now one of my most favorite romance stories. Anderson gave me intensity, she gave me sexy, she gave me electricity. Working It Out is a clean, fun romance, yet passionate and sensual at the same time. There are definitely some intense physical moments between Seth and Grace, but the focal point is their emotional bond; their connection aside from physical attraction. The author balanced it all out quite perfectly.

As a side-story, we learn that Grace feels responsible for her brother's paraplegia. When they were in high school, she was the one to convince her brother, Alec, to skip out on class one day and go skiing—a venture that ended in his accident and paralysis. This is originally what makes Grace take an actual liking to Seth. Upon seeing her wheelchair-confined brother, Seth immediately invites him to play wheelchair basketball with he and some friends. This turns into a beacon of hope for Grace; hope that her brother will come back out of his shell. So not only do we have a romance plot, but we have this familial healing as well. I very much enjoyed Alec's character and seeing his journey back to life.

Okay, before I go on, let me get to why I didn't give this book 5 stars. Grace. You see, Seth is into extreme sports. Heli-skiing, mountain biking, sky-diving, etc. Grace lives in fear that he will end up like Alec, paralyzed, or worse—dead. This is something she struggles with all throughout the book. She wants him to stop being so reckless, but doesn't want to ask him to change who he is for her. She battles herself constantly. My problem came in here. It began to get whiny and a little too repetitive for me. I may have even rolled my eyes at her a couple times. But it's really a minor detail when laid out next to the good things this story has to offer.

All in all, Working It Out is a winner! The characters are beyond lovable and relatable. The plot isn't too heavy, but not too fluffy. This would be a great beach read! It's about family, friendship, and love. It's about moving on and coming to terms. It's about seeing what's important in life and embracing it. It's about acceptance. The romance is clean, yet still passionate and emotional. I was very much moved by this book and I have no doubt it'll be the same for anyone else who reads it. And to top that off, there is a lot of humor and fun mixed into the story as well—so it had me laughing and smiling all over the place. It's an all-around great book. I recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance story. :)

Working It Out by Rachael Anderson is what is known as a "clean" romance. There was some kissing, but other than that, this is a book that you could feel very comfortable sharing with your daughter, mother or even grandmother. Honestly though, I didn't realize this when I agreed to review the book. My book choices are all based on how the blurb and/or author grab my attention. So when I was about 3/4 of the way through the book, and it dawned on me that there hadn't been any real steamy scenes, I was like "huh, okay" and just kept reading. The book was so well written and so involving, that I didn't miss what wasn't there.

This story opens with Seth Tuttle trying to give money to his former best friend's sister, Lanna for her charity. Lanna's brother had died of cancer and Seth promised to look after Lanna. But she doesn't want him to just fork over a bunch of money, knowing it's to try to make her life easier. Lanna wants to him to be a part of the charity program she works with and believe in the program like she does. Lanna invites him to be one of the bachelors that are going to be auctioned off to raise money, but he declines and leaves determined to help Lanna, whether she wants it or not.

Grace Warren is a physical therapist and sister to a paraplegic brother. His sports related injury is part of the reason she became a physical therapist. Grace is asked by one of her co-workers to bid on him during the bachelor auction. His girlfriend was going to do it, but at the last minute was unable to attend. It is at the auction that Seth and Grace meet for the first time. Seth bids on Grace's co-worker, the last bachelor, and drives the price very high in order to force Lanna to take the money. Grace and Seth argue and he kisses her. Lanna expresses her disappointment to Seth and walks away from him, hurt and angry.

Seth and Grace's next meeting is when she becomes Seth's physical therapist. Seth tore his ACL during a heli-ski vacation and after surgery has to have therapy. At first Seth doesn't even recognize Grace, but she immediately remembers him. Their chemistry is explosive and hilarious to watch. Grace is serious and reserved while Seth makes everything into a joke or a good time. The two together balance an compliment each other.

One of the great things about this book is that Seth and Grace's romance wasn't the only one in the book. A romance blooms between two of the secondary characters and you just can't help but root for both couples. Second chances, communication and compromise where strong themes in this book. I really liked that the characters didn't just assume what another character was thinking or feeling, but actually talked about their issues.and how to resolve them. There were a few moments in the book where I was so caught up in the book, I questioned whether they would be able to work out their differences. For me that is huge compliment. After all, this was a romance and I went into it knowing there would be a HEA at the end. To make me forget and question, even for a short time, is the mark of a great author. I liked this book and would read another by the author. 4 stars on Goodreads.

When I heard about the blog tour for Racheal Anderson’s new book I jumped at the chance to be a part of it. I first read Racheal’s work in All I Want, which was a collection of three short stories based on the Christmas Holiday season. Work by Jolene Perry and Kaylee Baldwin was also included in the book.

The second opportunity I had to read Racheal’s work was in The Reluctant Bachelorette. I fell in love with that story. It was a clean, sweet, romantic comedy. The characters felt like real people and I connected with them in a real way.

So when it came time to join the blog tour for Working It Out I was so happy!

Racheal has a talent for writing likeable, real characters. They are flawed. They do and say stupid things sometimes. In other words, they act like real human beings. I think that’s why I love them so much. I don’t want to read about the “perfect” heroine and “super perfect” super-hero. They aren’t real and I can’t connect. Racheal gives me real people. People I feel like I can call up on the phone and invite over for barbeque (if I cooked). And that’s the characters in Working It Out. They are real down to earth characters, dealing with real world issues.

Seth and Grace had perfect chemistry from their first meeting and it escalated at the right amount over the right time period. Their relationship was not perfect, nor was it the “insta-love” we sometimes see in romances. It was tastefully done, had conflict like a real relationship would, and ultimately left me smiling when I flipped off my Kindle.

I also must praise Ms. Anderson on her supporting cast in this book. Alec and Lanna were essential characters to the story. They were seamlessly woven into the plot—I can’t imagine the book without them. They added so much. I loved them both. Sometimes supporting characters are overshadowed by the main characters, but Rachael gave them their share of the spotlight and it needed to be done to move the story along. It was wonderful how it was handled.

Bottom line: Another win for Rachael Anderson. Why are you still reading my review? Seriously! You should be done reading the first chapter of Working It Out by now!

This is another enjoyable read from Rachael Anderson. Based on the books I have read so far by this author, she does not disappoint. It goes to show that one can write an excellent romance story without a whole lot of smut.

The story begins with Seth Tuttle being asked to take part in a bachelor auction by his best friend Lanna. Now Seth is always willing to help Lanna, but he does not believe parading himself in front of a stream of women is the way to do it. The way in which he was able to worm himself out of being part of the auction was rather interesting. Seth is a self-made billionaire and a consultant for startup companies. He is a fun loving and spontaneous guy, who is into extreme sports. He is the type of person who always sees the good in every situation. This makes him the complete opposite of the heroine Dr. Grace Warren.

Grace is a physical therapist and is considered to be the best in her field. She is a strong believer in the premise that a person’s name depicts their personality. As such her decision to date a guy is based on the meaning of his name. She does not believe in taking risks and as you delve into the story you will discover why.

Their initial meeting was amusing and entertaining as such I knew from that moment I was in for a story that would have me laughing at almost every page turn. Despite their differences I thought they made a great couple. I enjoyed the banter between them. It was fun watching Seth trying to get past her barriers as he tried to get to know her. He found her a challenge and being a man who loves challenges, he thought she was the perfect fit for him. If only she would recognize it.

I enjoyed reading about the supporting characters. I especially loved Grace’s brother Alex. I liked the way he eventually learned to overcome his hang-ups about being physically challenged. In doing so he was able to cease all that life had to offer. Working it out is a story of hope, happiness and love. It speaks about relationships and not just the romantic kind. It touches on relationships between siblings and best friends. This is a story that will have you laughing from start to finish. I was totally sucked in. The writing is fluid and the pacing is just right.

Being a fan of HEA I was happy with how the story was wrapped up. This is definitely a must read and I highly recommend it. If you are a fan of romances that are filled with a lot of sex then you may feel that this book is not for you. However, with this book you would not miss it. So go and get yourself a copy.

For someone who believes a name can tell you just about anything you need to know about a person, Grace thinks she has Seth pegged after their run-in at a charity event. God of Chaos sounds about right after he disrupts the event, kisses Grace without warning, and takes off amid a trail of upset women.

After an accident lands Seth in Grace's rehab program, she curses her luck. Seth, on the other hand, is more than happy to continue teasing and flirting with Grace as he tries to get his knee back in shape. They both think they know what the other person is all about, but as rehab turns into friendship, both will realize they don't know as much as they think they do.

This is a very sweet romance. It's not sappy or gushy, and it's not graphic. This is a story that focuses more on the characters and their personal development throughout the story than steamy scenes. That doesn't mean that there isn't passion between Seth and Grace. Readers will definitely get pulled in by the depth of Seth's emotions and the struggle Grace feels as she tries to balance her guilt and fear with her growing desire to be with Seth.

Grace and Seth are both very well developed main characters. Seth may be a little harder to relate to for some because his attitude in the beginning is so carefree and his life has very little responsibilities he has to deal with on a day to day basis, but his feelings for Grace and his struggle to figure out how to approach her without scaring her away is definitely something readers can connect with. Grace is a bit easier to relate to right off the bat because she is dealing with guilt, fear, and uncertainty in her life. She thinks she has things figured out and that keeping everything the same is what she wants, but Seth limps into her life and challenges all of that.

The main conflict in the book at first appears to be whether or not Seth and Rachel will end up together. As readers delve deeper into the lives of these two characters, they'll see that it isn't that simple. The added depth to this romance was something I really enjoyed. It wasn't just about the chase. Their happily ever after isn't as simple as finally getting that date or kiss. It was more realistic, and I found it very refreshing. This was a pretty quick read for me, but I enjoyed it all the way through and would recommend it those looking for a clean, heartfelt romance.

Thanks to Kathy at I Am a Reader for allowing me to read a copy of this and be part of a review group for this title.

Working it Out is a very quick, cute romance. It was a fun read, with interesting, but somewhat predictable characters. The story itself wasn't really that different from what you'd expect in a romance. But that's okay as it was still a good, quick, clean read.

There are basically four main characters: Lanna and her friend Seth, Grace and her brother Alec. So we get two romances out of the story. Lanna works for an after school program for children that runs off of donations. She is getting ready to have a bachelor auction to raise money. She wants her friend Seth to be one of the bachelors. Seth has done pretty well for himself in his work, and he has money that he wants to use to help. But Seth's preferred method of helping a charity is to give money. He's willing to donate $20,000, but he doesn't want to have to do anything, like be auctioned off. Lanna refuses to just take money from him, she feels wrong about it. Grace is a physical therapist who has a brother who became a paraplegic after an accident when they were in high school. She ends up at the auction to help out her coworker who needs her to bid on him because his girlfriend won't be there and he doesn't want anyone weird to end up "winning" him at the auction. Seth tries to get around Lanna's forbidding him of just giving money by showing up at the auction at the last minute and bidding his $20,000 on the last bachelor, which just happens to be Grace's friend. When Grace is very angry at him for ruining the plan, he tries to make up for it, jokingly, by kissing her. She leaves extremely perturbed. But as far as she knows, she'll never have to see this infuriating man again.

Wrong. Seth, once again due to his being well off, injures himself in a heli-skiing accident, and his doctor sends him to the best physical therapist in town, Grace. Once there he decides that he is intrigued by her, and sets out to win her over. But Grace is dealing with the guilt of what happened to her brother Alec, and wants more than anything to bring him out of the shell he has built around himself. Seth is able to help with that, and not just to win her over, Seth really is a good guy.

If you're looking for a cute, clean romance, this is a book for you. As I mentioned it is pretty predictable, I could see where it all was going pretty quickly. But it was a quick read, and definitely a bit of no heavy thinking required read.

4 STARS

Working it Out was fun to read. It had some nice messages in it too. I like the characters and understand their motives. I have to admit I am more on Grace's side, then over Seth's side when it comes to the extreme sports.
At times it is funny, so touching and then maddening at all the risks Seth takes. It is a clean read. I read it in one easy session.

Seth has money and wants to help his late friend's sister Lanna with his money for her afterschool program. Lanna does not want his money but offers him to be one of the bachelors . Seth declines.

Seth shows up in sweats at the auction even though its a black tie affair. He bids on the last man against Grace. He ends up paying 20,000 dollars for a date with Cameron. Seth thinks he is smart to force Lana to take his money. He had outbid Grace who was their to bid on her co-worker Cameron at his request.

Seth kisses Grace at the auction to prove he is not gay and only wanted to help support the charity.

Seth is into extreme sports big time until he injures himself and ends up in physical therapy with Grace and he does not even recognize Grace at first.

Grace's brother Alex is in a wheelchair after a accident when they were in high school skiing. Grace blames herself and that's why she is a physical trainer.

Grace teaches Seth that programs need money but they also need people to be involved and maybe if he helped volunteer his time Lana would let him help her. Also she would stop being mad at him. Once Seth starts getting involved he sees how he can help make a difference in lives.

Seth helps Alex learn to enjoy sports again also helps Grace to relax and have fun trying things.
I really like the characters and how they were changing for each other. They were all growing. I was rooting for them to workout their differences. I cared about them. While the characters did change they were believable changes.
This is I believe my first book I have read of Rachael's and I plan to read more of her work in fact I already have it on my kindle waiting for me.

I was given this ebook to read and in exchange asked to give honest review and be part of Working It Out blog tour.
