A gritty Western action series where justice is settled at gunpoint.A town thirsty for vengeance. A man cheated the noose. And Ryder has a debt to settle the old-fashioned way.
When notorious outlaw Dale Madsen escapes the hangman’s rope, leaving blood and chaos in his wake, the town of Wells Crossing is left reeling. Sheriff Rourke raises a posse, but the law rides slow—and Ryder knows a man like Madsen doesn’t run unless he’s got a plan.
With bullets in the air and death on the wind, Ryder is drawn into a relentless manhunt that leads deep into hostile country, where betrayal rides close and the desert keeps its secrets. The deeper the chase runs, the clearer it becomes that justice in the West is rarely clean—and never simple.
Gone to Hell is a fast-paced, brutal Western revenge novel packed with hard men, tough choices, and frontier justice. This is Book One of the Ryder gritty Western series, following a relentless gunfighter who knows the law often fails—and sometimes a gun is the only thing that speaks clearly.
Perfect for readers who enjoy dark, character-driven Westerns in the tradition of Cormac McCarthy and Larry McMurtry, with morally complex heroes and long-running series built for binge reading.

5 STARS for Wyatt Steele's Book 1 in his Classic Ryder Series. Great western, full of tough characters full of grit & filled with shoot-em-up action. Plus this storyline is full of every action one would except a possee to experience while riding through high deserts and canyons.
This would have been a 5 star with better editing. The author did a good job with the story line, characters and descriptions of the area the story went through. The way the characters interacted is way cowboy’s still act today. The quiet, loud and trouble makes are still out there. Ryder is your Clint Eastwood type character. You could almost feel the pain they went through once they were on foot in the desert. Will and Madsen were characters without any redeeming qualities. There really wasn’t much difference between Will and Madden, except Madsen killed in a larger volume and quickly. Texas was the crafty older man that held back and watched. He was the type of character that helped the story move. Good for western loving readers. Read and enjoy.
It took me a while to finish the book. It was entertaining story for those who like the genre. The last hour of the audiobook was wild and full of action and made the whole story. Ryder is a very interesting character and the embodiment of the traditional hero. The antagonist is despicable and low! Best line in the book? “We ride at dawn!” Classic fun western fare.
Alexa view at least are too hard to put on pages that keep disappearing so until change or try again as well but too drawn out and some places why what you’re doing a good job well read the next story but I doubt it’ll be anymore reviewsRWEKingnanAz and
This was a truly amazing Western Book with s fantastic storyline fill with tons of Action and Suspense! Can't wait to read this great Authors next Book in this Series!
This was a really good action packed read! My only question is about the fate of rider less horses did they go back to town with the posse? Or were they abandoned in the desert?
I enjoyed Tex and the their relationship and how smart they were. Sad about Ethan and a few others. I guess you got to have a villain or two. Looking forward to the next book.
I liked this book! A good Western. There was no sex involved and the good guys won. I recommend it to all who like Westerns. Thank you Wyatt Steele for a great book.
This was a real page turner. Can't believe that this story was a eye opener as to how the west was. Won and how thankful we all should be to our fore father's.
