Ascension has become one of the most popular VRMMO games. It is a huge world divided into a hundred Floors, with each Floor a boundless location with its own countries, tribes, and millions of players.
The object of the game is to unlock all the gates and conquer the top.
Having joined the game, Will Thomson doesn't realize that he is all by himself. Then he accepts the first quest....
This one is a mid series builder. Not to say that there was not plenty of action in this one, but it felt like it was laying the ground work as it opened up several directions the story could go and then did not do anything with them. Overall, still a strong read. Be aware there are plenty of translation errors, but it did not distract me from the storyline. Warning: explicit language. This book does set the stage and only one coincidence, which I understand why, bothered me as it felt contrived. I hope that the author addresses it and does not leave it as stands. Nothing stands out as super strong in this one, but if the author can take this foundation and build it could be pretty great. Excited for book 6.
By that I mean I was so into the story I didn’t realize I was even close to the ending. I truly enjoy white raven as an MC and I look forward to reading the next book
You just don’t want to put it down. A character with luck, power and determination. Good game mechanics implemented even if the character has rather powerful ones.
Another great installment to the series, as we see the development of our MC with the not, not so real NPCs as well as the world building on his current floor
