Use commitment management and the “integrity tools” to boost performance, trust, and personal power. Hold others accountable gracefully. Evoke sustainable, outstanding performance in teams.
Had to read for work. Good message and life philosophy presented in dumbed-down narrative. Might enjoy insipid storyline more AFTER my lobotomy. No more sports metaphors!
Definitely a must read. Nice, easy to read book that puts into perspective important topics such as perception, integrity, teamwork, accountability and trust - even teaches you how to complain properly! Not just for leaders/managers! All team members should read this book.
UPDATE: 22-02-2011 After having a second read, I like this book even more - it just makes sense! After almost reading it a year later and having a bit more management experience under my belt, I still vouch for this book as one of the best books for working with others. EVERYONE must read this book!"
The ideas in this book are really the fundamentals that everyone knows, but they are exactly some of basic common sense that are often ignored by people including myself. This book has built up a systematic, powerful and clear model to execute these fundamentals with a cliche but vivid and memorable story. This is one of those short and easy-to-read books from which you can get out a lot.
This is a very simple book, but I think people underestimate the power that are behind his words. The information in this book can transform a team, office, or company. Although it is simple, it takes a lot of practice and concentration to hone these skills. I highly recommend for somebody who is managing others.
Read this for work and I’m so glad they gave us this request :-) I’m a new manager, and this advice was just what I needed to hear as I navigate my conversations as a new manager with new team members. Would recommend to anyone who is in a management position!
excellent book, easy read, the nuggets are shared in a story narrative, can be applied to business and life, to individual producers or managers and leaders in most situations.
Quick & easy read with the story it follows. Simple, yet profound principles throughout that are practical for not only business, but also personal relationships.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tom and Birgit Zacher Hanson blend storytelling and practical advice to teach foundational leadership and accountability skills rooted in integrity. Following a struggling manager’s journey, the book offers clear tools for boosting team trust and performance while navigating workplace challenges. It’s a straightforward, engaging read for managers and professionals looking to foster responsibility without resorting to micromanagement.
The best business resource I've read. The cheesy story helps me remember the tools that are introduced in this book. You don't have to try and remember "steps", you can just think back to the story line and recall what happened next. The tools introduced in this book seem simple, but can be a challenge to ensure that I instill them into every interaction I have. The management and sales teams at my company read this about a month ago, and I'm already seeing some posititve changes.
