This is the second instalment in the series featuring Yesterday Crumb - a tea witch who puts the T, or tea, in attitude - and her magical world. The humans and the the magical world led by the Faerie Queen Aurelian’s and members of her Seelie Court, are on the brink of war. Dwimmerly End and Miss Dumpling are in danger and Yesterday is being blackmailed by her father, Mr Weep, who just so happens to be Lord of the Underworld. Yesterday must win a seemingly impossible contest to resolve the problems and save the magical world. Yep! There is a lot going on for an apprentice tea-witch.
The best thing about this novel for me is the world building. The idea of there being a whole other magical alternate universe hiding in plain sight, veiled only by magical glamours, is so appealing. Sagar knows just how to bring this world to life, with some exquisite use of language.
Themes of prejudice run throughout, with Yesterday struggling to be accepted by the fairy world because of her half human birth. Classed as a ‘neither-nor’, she struggles to find her place in either world and has to find the strength to carve out her own identity. Luckily, she has the support of good friends to help her find self-acceptance.
There is also a backdrop of the human effects on the natural world with mermaids suffering from water pollution and tree dryads struggling because of lack of green spaces. Today’s children will be able to relate well to these issues.
The only drawback for me with this novel was trying to ascertain the age of the target audience. The world and many of its characters are suited to the younger end of the MG age range. However, some of the scenes where Yesterday is arrested, characters are killed and the fight scenes involving knives and guns, may be considered a bit too much for this age group. These scenes, and the themes of discrimination, would definitely be better for a 11+ age, but I’m not sure how many of this age group would relate to some of the fantasy characters.
All in all, I really liked this novel and would definitely recommend to readers who enjoy fantasy. Just proceed with caution on some of the later chapters.

Instead, Dwimmerly End wandered around quite merrily upon a pair of flamingo legs, bringing pastries and witchery wherever it went."
With an opening paragraph such as this, you just know this will be a book to fall in love with. And it does not disappoint. With its cast of charming and quirky characters and the whimsical teashop, the second adventure of Yesterday Crumb is just as delightful as the first.
Adventure, sorrow and bittersweet moments swirl in the teapot as Yesterday battles in the Wild Feast, a magical cooking competition. Yet this is the least of the battles she will face.
And now we must impatiently wait, after the cliff hanger ending of this book, for the publication of book three, [Yesterday Crumb and the Tea Witch's Secret].

Si vous avez des enfants de 9 ans et plus, cette série est tout simplement magnifique et fera plaisir à vos cocos! 🤩
Dans ce deuxième tome la Boutique-sur-Pattes est kidnappée, avec Mlle Dumpling à l’intérieur. Felicity Fox et ses amis devront participer à un concours organisé par la Reine des fées pour espérer libérer leur maison. Cette aventure ne sera pas sans embûche, car des créatures fantastiques commence à disparaître les unes après les autres, et Felicity devra prouver que ce n’est pas elle la coupable.
Tout comme pour le premier tome, ce deuxième tome est un très grand coup de cœur! J’ai adorée retrouver l’univers magique des sorcières de thés et des créatures fantastiques! 🤩
Felicity prend de l’assurance dans son rôle de sorcière de thé et commence a créer ses propres mélanges magiques. J’ai adorée la voir prendre confiance en ses pouvoirs et s’en servir avec ingéniosité pour combattre le mal qui les attend à chaque détour. 😊
Maître Chantepleur est toujours autant détestable et méprisable. Il cherche encore à avoir le pouvoir suprême, et j’ai été très surprise par sa stratégie sournoise pour arriver à ses fins.
Felicity apprend enfin l’identité de sa mère, elle qui la cherche depuis si longtemps. Mais quelque chose me dit que cette aura aussi une soif de pouvoir, tout comme son père, et que les retrouvailles ne seront pas de tout repos. 😔
Encore une fois, j’ai été émerveillée par l’univers de magie et de fantaisie de cette série. J’aimerais tellement pouvoir vivre dans ce monde merveilleux pour voir de mes propres yeux une dryade ou un griffon! 🤩
J’ai tellement hâte à la sortie du 3e tome, et j’espère que ça sera pour bientôt! Je suis déjà certaine que ce sera un 3e coup de cœur pour moi! 😍

Endlich geht es mit Faye Fox, dem Mädchen mit den Fuchsohren weiter! Da mir der erste Band so gut gefallen hat, habe ich mich auf den zweiten Teil sehr gefreut. Das Cover hat schon mal direkt bei mir punkten können. Es ist wundervoll gestaltet und passt einfach perfekt zum Vorgänger. Und es verspricht auch nicht zu viel.
Freitag Fox, auch Faye genannt, liebt ihr neues Zuhause: Dwimmerly End, den magischen Teeladen von der liebreizenden Miss Butterling. Auf seinen zwei Flamingobeinen wandelt er in der Welt herum und bringt überall, wo er hält, köstliches Backwerk, Tee und Hexenzauber mit. Ihre nächste Reise führt Freitag und ihre Freunde nach London. Denn dort findet das Wilde Gelage statt, der größte magische Backwettbewerb in ganz Europa. Dieses aufregende Ereignis wollen sie sich auf keinen Fall entgehen lassen! Doch dann wird der Teesalon mitsamt seiner Besitzerin geschrumpft und vom obersten Spionobermeister des Hofs der Lichtfeen gestohlen. Freitag nimmt daraufhin selbst an dem gefährlichen Turnier teil, um Dwimmerly End zu befreien. Die Feenkönigin macht es ihr jedoch alles andere als leicht und als dann auch noch Mitglieder des Hofs der Lichtfeen verschwinden, wird Faye verdächtigt. Wird es der jungen Teehexe mit den Fuchsohren wohl gelingen, ihre Unschuld zu beweisen und ihr Zuhause zu retten?
Obwohl ich mich nicht mehr an alles aus dem ersten Teil erinnern konnte, fiel mir der Wiedereinstieg sehr leicht. Das Wichtigste wird am Anfang kurz erklärt, sodass man das Buch vermutlich auch ohne Vorwissen lesen kann. Besser wäre es allerdings, mit Band 1 zu starten.
Die Handlung setzt kurz nach den Ereignissen aus dem Vorgänger an und man ist schnell wieder mittendrin im Geschehen. Andy Sagar versteht es, uns Leser*innen mit seinem lebendigen Erzählstil direkt in den Bann zu ziehen und durchgehend zu fesseln. Seine Beschreibungen sind abermals so anschaulich und liebevoll, dass man alles bildlich vor Augen hat und sich von den ersten Seiten an wohlfühlt. Ich habe es wieder sehr genossen, in die kunterbunte magische Welt von Faye bzw. Freitag Fox einzutauchen und Zeit mit ihr und den weiteren Charakteren zu verbringen. Man trifft auf lauter alte Bekannte wie die herzensgute Teehexe Miss Butterling, ihren schlauen Gehilfen und Freitags besten Freund Jack, den vorlauten Nicht-Rabe Madrigal und Bösewicht Mr. Gram. Neben vertrauten Gesichtern und Orten kommen aber auch eine Menge neue Figuren und Schauplätze hinzu und alle sind sie genauso kreativ, skurril und einzigartig.
Andy Sagar hat uns erneut eine wirklich hinreißende Story gezaubert, voller Spannung, Witz und Einfallsreichtum und auch wichtige Themen haben ihren Platz gefunden wie Selbstvertrauen, Mut, Freundschaft und Zusammenhalt. Es ist einfach wieder toll zu wie sich Freitag charakterlich und als Teehexe weiterentwickelt und gemeinsam mit ihren Freunden ein unschlagbares Team ergibt. Freitag ist einfach ein großartiges Mädchen. Sympathisch, mutig und entschlossen und obwohl sie es als Fremdling nicht leicht hat und sich vielen Herausforderungen stellen muss, verliert sie nicht den Glauben an sich selbst und kämpft für das, was ihr am Herz liegt.
Einen kleinen Wehmutstropfen gab es allerdings leider für mich. Ich persönlich habe Miss Butterling und ihren bezaubernden wandelnden Teesalon mit den Flamingobeinen etwas vermisst. In Dwimmerly End halten wir uns diesmal nämlich insgesamt nur recht wenig auf. Abgesehen davon bin ich aber begeistert von dem Buch und kann den dritten Teil kaum erwarten.
Fazit: Andy Sagar entführt uns mit „Faye Fox: Ganz gezaubert ist halb gewonnen“ erneut in eine zauberhafte Welt voller Magie und Abenteuer, aus der man nicht mehr auftauchen möchte. Auch sein zweiter Kinderroman ab 10 Jahren ist eine spannende, lustige und fantasievolle Geschichte mit einer starken Heldin, liebenswert-skurrilen Charakteren und wunderbaren magischen Köstlichkeiten. Ein herrliches Lesevergnügen für Jung und Alt und das beste Lesefutter für alle Hexenfans. Mir hat auch dieser Band großen Spaß gemacht, auf mein nächstes Wiedersehen mit Faye Fox und Co. freue ich mich schon sehr. Von mir gibt es 4,5 – hier gerundet auf 5 von 5 Sternen!

Ich habe schon den ersten Teil von Faye Fox verschlungen und wollte deshalb auch diesen zweiten Band unbedingt lesen. Und was soll ich sagen!? Dieser Teil steht dem ersten in nichts nach und das wunderschöne, farbenfrohe Cover passt wieder perfekt!
Inhaltlich geht es um den größten magischen Wettbewerb in ganz Europa und Faye Fox und ihre Freunde fahren nach London, um das aufregende Spektakel anzuschauen. Als jedoch der reisende Teeladen samt seiner Besitzerin, der Teehexe Miss Butterling, geschrumpft und vom Meisterspion des Hofs der Lichtfeen gestohlen wird, nimmt Faye an dem gefährlichen Wettkampf teil, um Dwimmerly End zurückzugewinnen. Doch die Teilnehmenden schrecken vor nichts zurück, um am Ende den großen Preis in Händen zu halten. Und die böse Feenkönigin handelt alles andere als fair. Wird es Faye Fox und ihren Freuden dennoch gelingen, Miss Butterling zu befreien? Die fantastischen Abenteuer des Mädchens mit den Fuchsohren gehen weiter.
Der Schreibstil war wieder wunderbar lebendig und auch für Kinder flüssig und leicht zu lesen. Einmal mit dem Buch angefangen möchte man es gar nicht mehr zur Seite legen! Der Teeladen, der Wettbewerb, alles wird wider so wunderbar beschrieben das man meint man würde einen Film ansehen.

HOWEVER. This book. This Author. AMAZING!
We picked this book up in a local charity shop, the cover intrigued me and my son read the blurb and we were both hooked..
We read books to our children still every night without fail and this was the most exciting and fun book we have read in a while, we enjoyed it so much we bought the second and then the third when it was released recently!
Yesterday is a strangling who has no idea of the power she hold within, until Miss Dumpling comes along with her walking teashop filled with curiosity and wonder!
No spoilers here, but the twists, the plot, the imagination and creativity in this book, is just brilliant. We really love it, so much so my youngest daughter dressed as yesterday for world book day this year! It's really well written in my opinion!
My son who has read a lot too, even said mum, this is next level and even thinks it's the next best thing to harry potter!

No spoilers here, but the twists, the plot, the imagination and creativity in this book, is just brilliant. We really love it, so much so my youngest daughter dressed as yesterday for world book day this year! It's really well written in my opinion!
My son who has read a lot too, even said mum, this is next level and even thinks it's the next best thing to harry potter!

I absolutely loved the first book in this series (Yesterday Crumb and the Storm in a Teacup), so I couldn’t wait to read Yesterday Crumb and the Teapot of Chaos.
I loved this book so much. I love Yesterday, her name, her grit and determination, and her fox ears! I love that she’s a tea witch (and that such magic exists). I love all the other characters too.
I really enjoyed seeing some different aspects of the setting, the world building is really excellent. Learning about some other kinds of magic was fun.
This story seems a darker than the previous one, but it is also a great adventure, and full of hope and friendship too.
Overall, this was another exciting and magical adventure with characters that I love. I’m looking forward to the next book!

I absolutely loved this and I am already itching for #3. The character development along this journey is so beautiful and I loved seeing Yesterday form new friendships with once enemies. I have a newfound obsession with tea magic and I can’t get enough of this niche.
The second installment of this series is so much more thrilling and page turning than the first, there is a lot more at stake…and it managed to bring me to tears near the end. Can’t recommend this series enough, I’m ready for the next one please!!

4.5 stars. These books are simply magical. As well as the life lessons contained in them - the value of loyality and friendship; of self-belief and inclusion... there is such a strong political message too. The critique of capiatlism - of primitive accumulation and of the way that man seeks to reduce the complex, to the simple; the concrete to the abstract, makes these books so incredibly powerful and suitable for adults as well as children. And in addition to that, they're just great stories with great characters as well.

This series may be made for kids 8-12, but at 30, this has become one of my favourite series of all time. I absolutely LOVE the inclusion of a tea theme (I’m a teacup collector and tea lover so this warmed my heart) and the utter magic of this series is breathtaking. You really come to love the characters and Andy does an amazing job of bringing them to life. Aysha Kala who narrates the audiobooks is also INCREDIBLE in how perfectly she reads both the story and the characters. 10/10 can’t wait for book 4!!!! I hope Yesterday has many more adventures to come 🦊

I have been reading this series with my son, and he still loves reading together.

This is a captivating book with magical creatures, magical tea, and some twists to boot. And who doesn't love a teashop with legs!
In this book, we see Yesterday come into her own. She steps into her power with confidence and strength. And she stands up for what she believes in.

4.5 rounded up. I really enjoy this series, the magic, lore and world building are interesting and exciting. I liked getting to learn about more types of fairies in this over the first book. The only drawback for me is I find Yesterday difficult. I know it's part of her character and I'm glad she seems to be working on it as the series goes on but I am finding her a little irritating. Very much looking forward to the next one though!

Decent and as good as the first! Happily pulled back into Yesterday's world, with new characters {with old ones returning of course}, fresh ideas, and beautiful storytelling. Cool teas, and other types of magic which I really enjoyed. The writing felt a bit fast and rushed though, but definitely not in a bad way, as it's probably just the authors style.

This is a thrilling sequel to the first tea-riffic Yesterday Crumb story. Here, in the Teapot of Chaos, we follow Yesterday's journey to find her mother, evade her father and visit the dangerous Wild Feast festival in London. However, when things take an unexpected turn, Yesterday finds herself a competitor in the fearsome Wild Feast event, where everything she cares for, along with the whole magical world, is at risk. I loved the first book in the series - Yesterday Crumb and the Storm in the Teacup - and I think I may love this one even more. There is more peril, more magic and Yesterday's journey to discover who she is and the type of tea witch she wants to be is a thrilling one to observe. I devoured this book.
As with many series of books for children, there is more peril in this book than in the first book. There is more at stake and the consequences are greater. I cried in parts towards the end and the last page itself left me desperate for book 3 (and also slightly cursing the author!).

We are back with Yesterday and to my surprise she has grown as a person and nothing seems to faze her. Mr Weep is also back and oh boy he is now triple crossing different people but will he win? There is also a strange cooking competition and loads of wonderful new characters both good and bad.
For a second novel in a series this was everything and I can't wait to read the final book and will be sad to finish this wonderful series

J’aime toujours autant cet univers rempli de magie ! J’ai beaucoup apprécié ce fameux tournoi qu’est le Festin Fantastique ; les épreuves sont vraiment chouettes, il y a de la magie, de la nourriture et des boissons dans tous les sens, ça donne envie ! Cette histoire offre une très chouette aventure que j’ai apprécié de partager avec Faye et ses amis. Il y a du suspense et cette fin donne vraiment envie de se jeter sur la suite !

Le copertine sono sempre meravigliose, Andy Sagar è diventato, con due soli volumi, uno dei miei autori preferiti.
Secondo volume molto più movimentato rispetto al primo, d'altronde c'è scritto chaos nel titolo, tiene col fiato sospeso tutto il tempo.
