Good effort for a first time author. Intriguing story. Good characters. Just a wee bit confusing. Would have liked to be able to figure out the clues the antagonist was leaving, so a bit more help along the way would have been good. Otherwise well written and edited. Would read this dude again.

One of the craziest whodunits I've read in a while. Have to keep every one straight in your head. Every time I thought I knew who the killer was it turned out not to be. A very surprising ending, not at all expected. And I'm still worried about poor Roger- will he be all right?

I’d rate it a 3.5 too many characters to keep track of, sometimes too far fetched but a good mystery

This is the first novel for this author and I think he should keep writing...This one kept me involved all the way through.

Roger Steel is a detective until one night his whole life is turned upside down. His wife and little girl are killed in a car accident. He has been critically injured, but survives. The man that hit them, was drunk, but never charged. Why? He is a powerful Senator that is running for the office of President.

When Roger returns to the police department, the Chief is concerned with him, but lets him head up the murder case that has just occurred. Only this one, will result in 7 people being killed and Roger will be right in the middle of things, even to be the accused.

You never can guess where this one is going and I didn't guess the ending. Hoping to read more by this author.

This was an excellent detective story with an added strand of a conspiracy thriller. This is the first book by the author and by and large it was written, moved along at a good pace and kept the reader guessing right up to the end. I have only one complaint and that was over then ending. Whilst it did resolve the issue of the issue of the guilty party it felt rushed and there were too many questions left unanswered for me to be completely satisfied. Will probably read number in the series when it’s released, as this was an enjoyable read.

Still stunned

This book kept me thoroughly twisted up till the very end. I am not even sure I'd be able to explain it without spoilers. I'll simply suggest you read it I'd you like a good suspense thriller with questions that keep you guessing right along with the police and agents tasked with solving the crimes.

This was a ' can't wait til I can get back to reading it' kind of book. Very good and recommended for a murder mystery book. The list of characters is at the end of the book---there are 69 characters!

Great first book.

This was a great novel. While there was a lot of bloodshed. While k e there was a great deal of bloodshed rtf h e book was not gory. I had a hard time following Rogers twin. I don't really know if Roger was imagining things and really committing the murders himself. But how do you explain the phone calls?
