When a colleague gets her 'S's mixed up, care worker Marissa Taylor gets a bigger Yuletide gift than she ever imagined. Stripper, Santa, they’re practically the same thing, right? At least none of the residents had a heart attack. Marissa isn’t the impulsive type, but when Liam Carlisle offers her a private show, she decides to treat herself to a little festive fun. Can the Christmas magic last? Or will Marissa stop believing in Santa for good?
Elise Noble is an English rose with a few thorns who loves chocolate, sleep, and well-defined abs. Not hers, unfortunately. She lives near London with a horse who eats all her money and three dogs who eat everything else.
Elise writes real, gutsy heroines and flawed but swoon-worthy heroes in stories that mix mystery and mayhem, humour and happily-ever-afters.
Continuing with the Christmas spirit, I went and opened this book.
The story begins with Marissa Taylor who works at a nursing home. She is working on Christmas when the hired Santa shows up. It turns out that her boss instead of booking a regular Santa, has hired a stripper Santa.
Liam Carlisle is working as a stripper while he finishes med school. When he meets Marissa, he can't avoid proposing a private show.
Fun and interesting characters in this short novella. I like that Liam wasn't embarrassed about his side job. He was pretty confident. They made a good couple.
Cute, fun, and festive novella by Elise Noble. The overall story was great. Intriguing plot + Hot spice = DEVOURED!! One minute I was sweating from the spice. The next I was literally laughing out loud. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. So much I’d love for it to have been a full novel. But even with it being a novella I felt like it provided all the important details so you’re not left feeling like something is missing. Great holiday read. Highly recommend!
“A Very Happy Christmas” is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. Marissa Taylor gets more than she bargained for when Santa turned up at the retirement home she works in. For this is no ordinary Father Christmas, it's a Stripping Santa. And, after the show (no stripping involved) she gets up close and personal with Santa (aka Liam Carlisle). The following morning she discovers that he's a cheating git and banishes him to memory. But, she's gotten the wrong end of the stick – and it'll take a full year before they meet again. It's a book that doesn't take itself very seriously and aims for the funny-bone and heart instead. It could have been twice the length – and might have benefited from it as the characters are one-dimensional - but you read what's in front of you. 3 Stars.
So cute! I loved the fast pace of this book, I was giggling and had heart flutters! I only wish it was longer! I feel the story needed more building, I wanted more of them, more banter! Even so this is my favorite Christmas book so far! Gave me the holiday cheer and love I was looking for! Just the right amount of drama too. I love how assertive Liam is and the yearning!! I loved Marissa personally, she’s funny and kind. I love how she’s grown from being afraid and running. Such a fun story for the holidays! 🫶🏽
An enjoyable, fun novella by Elise Noble. Light hearted, humorous and easy to read romance between Marissa, a nursing home attendant, and Liam, a stripper during his final year of med school, then an emergency room doctor a year later after heir one night stand before meeting again. Interesting characters, including Marissa's nosey mother and some of the nursing home residents. Great little holiday read.
No plot spoilers No potential triggers No swearing and only one sex scene lightly written. I don't recall any errors. I found the book entertaining but far too short. It felt unfinished and a long way from its potential. As for romance? Well, read it to find out but I thought Liam a bit contrived and the plotline a bit formulaic. As ever from the pen of Elise Noble the book is engaging.

Liam and Marissa have an unusual meet/ cute when he shows up as a stripper instead of a Santa at the nursing home she works at. Instant attraction leads to a night shared.
I likes how it fast forwards to the next Christmas and we see where their lives have gone, separately. Their reunion is full of surprises and quirky family dynamics.
Marissa works at a nursing home, and rather than visit her family for Christmas, she volunteers to work. There is a crazy mixup that results in a stripper Santa visit, and a crazy romance with many misunderstandings and not much substance ensues.
I was laughing so hard… omgoodness… this was a great read… the characters were actually quite funny. The storyline was excellent!! I’ll re-read every time I need to lift my spirits!!!🥰🥰🥰
A steamy, roller coaster romance with overbearing family involved. Sounds like Christmas time to me! I know this was written as a short novella, but Elise's books are never long enough for me. I feel like I now know Marissa & Liam personally and I want to know more about their romance. Excellent quick read! I voluntarily read & reviewed an advance copy of this book... Lucky me!
A Very Happy Christmas is a sweet romance with laugh out loud moments. I want a Santa just like Liam! I would love to read another story about Liam and Marissa as they go forward with their relationship. More interaction with the folks at Fairfield House would be nice, too. I highly recommend reading this cute story.
Elise Noble never fails to delight. Although different from her other books this short story is a delightful, laugh out loud, Christmas read. It also has the most embarrassing mother .. ever.
