When I was growing up, this was my favorite installment in the series. Now, having just reread most of the books with my nieces and nephews, I lean toward DERWOOD, INC. as my favorite.
Interestingly, although Jack's narrating this one, it's really Scruggs who steals the show and acts as the main protagonist, I think.
At any rate, it's nice to see the kids growing up and grappling with bigger life issues.
I actually loved this story, and could barely stand to put it down! My favorite character was definitely Scruggs but I also liked Penny a lot. Basically, this book was about how five kids/teenagers got abandoned on a mountain and had to survive the wilds and find their own way back to civilization while being hunted by some creeps. I really liked the faith content to it. It didn't take up a whole lot of the book, but I liked the way that they'd pray and sing hymns together during such a hard time. I believe that I learned a lot, almost as much as them, from this story. First of all, things aren't always how they appear. At the beginning of the book I was really annoyed at Annette. True, she was being a brat, but you never can judge someone completely honestly when they're going through a tough time, you know? Anyways, five stars all around people! A great book for adventure/action lovers and people who like reading stories based out in the wilds. ages 10+
Wow! What a great ending to the series! (Actually is it?🤣😆) This book was just as good as "A dangerous game"!
My praise about the book: 🤍Scruggs 🤍I loved how Scruggs and Annette's relationship was portrayed. It must have been so hard for both of them to handle each other 🤍Scruggs and Jean's brother and sister relationship💕💕💕 🤍...really anything with Scruggs LOL
I think my grandchildren will really enjoy this book and series. Full of action. They can see how kids can rely on God to care for them. There is a conflict with kids not getting along, but learn to try. " I am sorry" is a concept taught , also
