"After his estranged father suddenly goes off the radar, Brian Davis pays a long, overdue visit to his childhood home to find his father dead from the Covid 5 virus...or was it something far more sinister and human behind his demise?
After logging into his father's computer and reading the last story he was working on - a literal magnum opus of faith and hope, along with some very accusatory remarks about corruption in our government - he realizes his father may have become a human target.
Soon, thereafter, he is thrust into a real life conspiracy, in which government funded street derelicts known as ""the vultures"", have been ordered to seek out and eliminate anyone who has been deemed a ""ghost"", counterproductive people who may be conspiring to overthrow the government's current agenda.
Will Brian be able to carry on with his father's mission without becoming a target himself?
I really liked this story about life and loss due to a pandemic... well, basically this pandemic. It was not jarring or bitter, it was a short, easy read that walked through the end of survival and moments of remembrance. Take or leave the authors note, but the actual story here is good and very well written.

This is a story that could be a reality. In that alone it’s a bit scary. Covid does continue to mutate. We can all get vaccinated but we just have to hope it will work. Victor Warren was a great narrator for this story. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Wow, this was scarily close to the bone. I don't often listen to shorts, but I am glad I listened to this one...I couldn't stop thinking about it for days and actually listened to it 3 times in 2 days. Be prepared!

Excellent short story of a man looking back on what happened when government and citizens ignored Covid 19 protocals as he is dying of Covid 5.Read it,let it sink in. Victor Warren was a wonderful narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This was a great short story. The narrator did an awesome job especially when he read the part when the guy's cat climbs into bed to be near his owner. I could feel the emotions there.
I voluntarily asked for a free audiobook in exchange for a review.
Plagiarist is too kind of word for this author. I can't believe Goodreads let him publish books on here. I do not recommend this, nor any of his other books, to readers.
