Nate is the hardworking CEO of SouthernCool, an AC company in Florida. After years of toiling to get rich, he finally takes a well-deserved vacation to Australia. A chance encounter ties him to a gorgeous gal named Senna. Right as things between the two are heating up on the Great Barrier Reef, pesky aliens intervene.
Humanity is doomed, they tell him, destined to become extinct in the not-too-distant future. Nate and Senna are forced to compete for a spot on a human preserve. The competition turns out to be similar to a Real Time Strategy (RTS) 4x game. That means, in order to score points, you have to eXpand your empire, eXterminate your foes, and eXplore & eXploit your environment.
This book had so much Potential to be a great story But the author drop the ball at the goal line. The book starts off by creating an empire a kingdom. But then the whole woke propaganda.... Raised its ugly head and the main melt MC turned into a pansy...... Could not make a decision without talking in a committee and getting everyone's opinion instead of being Being the The alpha Leading his empire with his wives at his side....... There was a time when main characters were strong and dominant and they were confidential... And who are they are but that time in our history is.... Now long gone. If you like seeing the mail MC being metaphorically... Castrated the book is all for you.... What if you like strong main characters in pass on this book.
It was a great story of creating a new civilization from scratch with only a little sex. I liked the trilogy a lot. However, I was annoyed that the end of book 2 had a preview of the first 2 chapters of book 3 immediately followed by a repeat of this chapters as part of book 3. Also,
I have been listening to LitRPG & HaremLit for a few years now and have a few Marcus Sloss books in my collection. As a non-gamer, this was my first time encountering Real Time Strategy (RTS) 4x. Intrigued by the concept I downloaded it and started listening. The concept is reasonably familiar, with lots of stats, lots of action and quite a lot of sex.
I raced through the first book in record time. The second and third didn't take much longer. A thoroughly enjoyable series from start to finish. So much so, that I hope it isn't finished. Book three takes us to the eventual destination. I want to know what happens next. Please, Marcus Sloss, give us more. Lots more.
Love this series so much I went back and read it a second time. I'm disabled so not able to move around much, so I read a lot now. I know I will come back and read this again in the future.
