When taking the Myers-Briggs personality test in high school, Kimberly was rated as an INFJ (Introverted-Intuitive-Feeling-Judging). This result sent her into a panic, because there were no career paths recommended for the type. Fortunately, it turned out to be well-suited to a writing career. Since receiving that dismal outlook, Kimberly has become an award-winning author of romance and erotica. She has written for seven publishing houses, both domestic and international, and has recently focused her efforts on the exciting world of self-publishing. When not writing, she enjoys movies, sports, traveling, music, and sunshine. In her mind, a beach, some rock 'n' roll, and a good book make for a perfect day.
I kept waffling between 2 and 3 stars ... ugh. 2.5 stars really ...
I hate the angst of "we're so toxic but we can't stay away" - which ... they weren't that toxic but all the unnecessary angst. And I hate how reckless Roxie is when she's STUPID. Like sure take risks be crazy go have fun. But don't be a FUCKING IDIOT about shit. My god.
I actually liked the cop scene - that she didn't "get away" with it entirely - because it was PAINFULLY easy police work to find her, so good job there. I don't mind she didn't get into ACTUAL trouble.
But she's ... omfg. With the always pulling away and bitch IT'S BEEN TEN YEARS HAVE A FUCKING GODDAMN CONVERSATION?! Especially since HE ALWAYS KEEPS COMING BACK?!
... ok yeah I just changed it from 3 stars to 2 stars. TBH I almost skipped this book because book 1 was my favorite and book 2 was just ok and I didn't have much interest in this book until it's clear the "family stuff" is resolved.
I did like that ROXIE made the gesture - it was necessary here. The whole psychic thing was .... meh. And the cat. Meh.
But I am glad I read this trilogy - and that all the mysteries were solved.
(3.5 Stars) "Roxie" is the final book in the Triple X series. While the chemistry between the main two characters was off the charts the convoluted ending was too over the top for me.
Roxie has been reunited with her two sisters, she has just purchased Ruckus, the bar she has been working in when her mentor retired so why is she so sad? It most likely has to do with the fact that she has never felt like she belonged and both her sisters have significant others in their life and she is alone.
Of course things get complicated when Billy walks in the door of Ruckus. He is the only man who continually stoked her home fires to temperatures off the charts. However their relationship has never been easy. They seem to fall apart before they get started so what's going to make this time any different? To complicate matters, she and her sisters still need to find out about their parents.
Once again while the overall plot for this series is unique and interesting, the lack of depth due to the brevity of the read and the convoluted ending got in the way of this being a truly great read. Apparently these books has recently been re-released by the author. I am curious to read some of her more recent work to see if her writing style has changed. I am definitely going to check it out.
This series has been amazing and I am definitely sad to see the end!
A ton has happened for Roxie and her sisters over the last year...and most of it has thrown their lives into barely contained chaos! The one thing that Roxie feels is missing from her life is love...and the possibility of it may have just walked back into her life...
Billy didn't start out as someone I wanted to care about. His demeanor towards Roxie just didn't make sense and I didn't think he deserved her. I mean seriously, who is he to waltz into town when he feels like it and get a fun "roll in the hay" (or bar office as luck would have it)?? But then some of their back story started to leak out and I started to understand. I started to care...and I started to stare dreamily at my Kindle with this picture of a tall, sexy mechanic in my mind. Billy is mean or callous...he is scarred. He isn't careless...he craves closeness. He isn't heartless...he cares more than he wants anyone to see.
Roxie...well Roxie is still Roxie! She is wile and carefree...or is she? With Billy around we start to get a glimpse at the "real Roxie" and how much her wild side is hiding. Roxie just wants to be wanted...is that too much to ask? Now that she has her sisters, the next order of business is finding the her parents...besides...they totally owe her an explanation! Unfortunately finding them isn't going to be easy..
The chemistry in this book honestly puts that of the first two in the series to shame! Billy and Roxie are 100% MFEO (Made For Each Other!) and it shows in every little action. Yeah, they fight...no their not perfect...but they are perfect for each other. The sexual tension isn't held out for long...but these two have a past. It's not a new relationship, although some aspects of it haven't been seen for a while. It certainly didn't take long for me to fall in love with them as couple.
The plot line is deep, sweet and sad. I genuinely felt their pain and frustration at their situation. With the background that Billy and Roxie share, confrontation is a given. They only defense mechanism that they know is to fight for themselves...it's not easy to learn to trust. I really enjoyed the story line. It was, yet again, unique and captivating.
With characters that you can't help but love and a story that is written in a manner that drags you under, willing participant or not, and locks you in place until the very last page Kimberly Dean has created a novel that is the epitome of romance and mystery. With this series she has given us a story that both captivates and leaves you breathless. This combination leads me to one conclusion...Roxie, along with the entire Triple X series, is a must read romance that I highly recommend!
The last year for Roxie has been pretty amazing and out of this world as after a billboard of her picture representing her new bar "The Ruckus" caused her to discover that she had a sister and not just one sister but two and even more was that they were all identical triplets. There is Maxie - the sweet sister and Lexie - the business type and now of course Roxie - the free-spirited one. On the opening night of the Ruckus as her own , in walks a hunky guy and it turns out that the guy is none other than Roxie's ex-husband Billy Cannon. Life just got complicated as whenever she is around Billy, the chemistry sizzles "hot stuff'. The three of them Lexie, Maxie and Roxie have been searching the last few months since they met to discover who their birth parents are and why they were given up as for Lexie and Maxie - they managed to have a good home and were adopted but for Roxie - her placement fell through and she was bounced throughout the foster system till she escaped from it when she was sixteen , when she married Billy. Near the end of the novel, a stranger walks into the bar Roux , there is something about him that Roxie finds familiar and soothing and turns out he may be the very key to helping Roxie and her sisters find their birth family and an added twist occurs with Roxie and Billy. If you love stories of reunions and family discoveries , then the "Triple X" series is for you.
Title: Roxie Series: Triple X # in series: 3 Author: Kimberly Dean Genre: Contemporary Romance Tropes/Keywords: Bar owner, childhood friends to lovers, marriage in trouble, marriage of convenience, second chance. Pages: 207 Steam: Open Door Spice: 🌶🌶/5 Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Review: Great ending to a wonderful series. I think that Roxie and Billy were my favorite couple of the series. I love friends to lovers and second (third) chances. It doesn't hurt that this one had even more steam than the previous books . . . . . . CW: Foster care. Forced family separation.
Pregnancy?: Mentions of miscarriage that happened in the past. Babies/Children?: No
Quotes:
- Men. You couldn’t live with them, but a vibrator didn’t feel nearly as good.
- Her sisters had needed their second families—and she’d needed Billy
- “I just wanted to belong, Billy.” She had belonged. She’d belonged with him. She still did.
Well this is obviously the book I have been waiting for! It has it all. As the third in the series brings together the story of the three sisters and fills out Roxie's story with great angst and detail. We get to understand more of why she has built this hard and sassy shell around herself - to protect the vulnerability laying inside - and how much she needs Billy when she spends so much of her time pushing him away. This is my favorite of the the three books and I thank the author for the free arc that has allowed me to enjoy the journey. I promised to be honest about the book and while I liked the first two I always felt that I needed more and this third novel certainly delivers. I also enjoyed the 'happy ending' and felt it was very believable, so hats off to the author for that! The female narrator (yes I had a free audio book) was good and tried hard when dealing with male voices, though sometimes I felt that Billy's voice was a bit squeaky for a rough biker type but saying that on the whole it worked well. My final thoughts are - this series is a great read or listen, but you should commit to all three books to get the most enjoyment from them, I originally felt book 1 had weaknesses and may have made the mistake of leaving it just asa one book read , but can now honestly say that you need to read all three to get the overall picture, to meet the triplets and understand their plights
3.50 Unlike the other books in this entertaining Series, Roxie isn’t as carefree, and shows a more serious side of her personality. I missed the evil one! Her life is finally coming together with her own business and reunited with her sisters. She even has a second chance with Billy, her ex. but something is still missing. Roxie, even more so than Lexie and Maxie, needs answers on why they were put up for adoption, that led to her life in the Foster Care system. This book gives the readers the answers and a few surprises. It just wasn’t my favorite of the Triple X Series. It lacked the comedy and bantering done so well in the previous books. The sisters play a lesser role and there are one too many sex scenes. Plus, the ending is sweet, but maybe not all that realistic. Since the overall Series was original, I rounded my 3.5 Stars to 4.
Roxie has led a harder life than her triplet sisters who we’re both adopted out and given a good life. When her ex comes back into her life, thing heat up quickly. This book has to be my favorite of this 3 book series. I think it’s in us to root for the under dog and she was dealt a crappy hand but persevered. The narrator was perfect for this part and gave each character a different voice which i love.
Okay, this one was up to 6 tissues. Maxie saying " she faints like me", And Dex saying to Lexie she was the thinking one. Then there was the Rocket, Roxie's nickname. The three grew up differently but they were still sisters. Early on Roxie had mentioned she preferred dogs, not a surprise that's what got her in trouble, but her being " hell on wheels " made her a survivor.
Book three in the Triple X Series and this time we have Roxie’s story. The story is engaging with lots of steam, angst, mystery and delightful humour! We learn her history, answer a lot of questions and fill in the blanks. This was an eagerly anticipated sequel with just the right amount of everything. Perfect ending to this series.
A lot of sex and a bit of bad language but, overall, a great story. Loss, heartache, trust issues, wanting to belong, and more. Don’t let the “triple x” turn you off. The series isn’t like what you might expect from seeing that. If it were, I wouldn’t have read all three books.
I don't know which book I loved the best. All of Kimberly Dean's characters were exciting and memorable. Though all the girls are identical , their personalities were all special and different. It was a very unexpected but exciting ending to The Triple X books 1,2, and 3.
The books in this series need to be read together in order! Warning ! They are steamy ! If your not up for some (a lot ) of sex scenes this is not a series for you but if you are clear your calendar! Your not going to want t put them down! Well written ,great story flow a joy to read.
This was a good ending and not a predictable as I had originally thought. The sisters and their mates were interesting and likeable. The scenario was not as farfetched as one would guess. I recommend this series to readers who don't mind the heavy sexual content.
This one will have you sitting on the edge of your seat wondering just what's going to happen next.Mystery, suspense, thrills and spills with a whole lot of laughter.I'm sorry to see this series end.
Roxie Roxie Roxie! I love her personality- starting with book 1 - Lexie - her personality never changed in all 3 books. I really liked Billy and how he decided to not be a doormat. Ultimately the best part was the ending and getting answers to major questions.
This is the third installment in the Triple X Trilogy, a Series of interconnected stories, with an ongoing plot. I love this Series! Roxie and Billy's second chance to love is beautifully written, fun, sexy, and heartwarming. Laurie West did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it.
This was such a great book and followed up with a great ending. I read book 1 first and couldn't wait for the next & accidentally started on book 3 but it was so worth reading. Everyone who likes a great romance will enjoy it.
I loved the development of the characters in this series. Roxy has been building in dynamics since book one. This book did her Justice!! Great ending to the series
Same as the previous 2 books; an easy fun read. No depth and some iffy moments, but overall I enjoyed. The ending with the family was sweet and a great way to end the series.
I have received this book in exchange of an honest review. I haven’t read the other books in the series and, although I want to, you don’t really need to have read them in order to understand and enjoy this book. I think what I liked the most in this book were the characters. Roxie is though and feisty and I had a lot of fun reading about her. Billy is great as well and even though he doesn’t want to get involved with Roxie he just can’t help but do it. The plot is interesting and the whole book is well-written. I’ll definitely go back and read the other books in the series.
