Jump into the metaverse to connect with consumers and explore endless opportunities
Like the Internet before it, the metaverse is a virtual space bringing people, companies, and products together in both digital and real environments to create new economic opportunities. The groundwork is already laid. People and organizations jumping in are gaining invaluable experience, meeting customers, developing revenue streams, and even shaping metaverse culture.
In Navigating the A Guide to Limitless Business Possibilities in a Web 3.0 World, a team of Silicon Valley thought leaders delivers a groundbreaking discussion of how to find the right opportunities in this fast-moving universe. You'll explore everything from the metaverse basics, to strategy, to launching your first metaverse project. In the book, you'll data and market analysis to erase any doubt that the metaverse is the next big thing; foundational knowledge about the metaverse, metaverse economy, Web3 technology, and more; the essential connection between metaverse environments, businesses, community, and digital products that make the metaverse economy so powerful; a deep dive on non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and how to make the most of these assets; and frameworks to help find, nurture, measure, and capitalize on innovation in the metaverse.
Readers should only take this book as a premier to know what metaverse is about, what technologies are involved, how this can be used to attract users, and business strategies to market their products or services using metaverse. The authors included technologies like blockchain, crypto currency, NFT, VR, AR and boosted they are vital to metaverse platforms, but most of the content is just promoting how they envisage the future ideal implementation of various metaverse, with references to some early days projects in learning and discovering use of metaverse for different business cases. I treat this book as a means in marketing metaverse for the benefits of related metaverse ecosystem vendors.
I have no doubt that metaverse will ultimately become another kind of digital social platform, but I do not share the optimism as the authors ... taking into account a lot of technical advancements (both software and hardware) in the domain of blockchain, crypto and 3D vision reality devices need to be achieved before a good user experience can be vouched for.
With the recent "crypto winter" happening at time of my review of the book, I suspect many will give a second thought on crypto related components in metaverse architecture.
This was an insightful book! I loved that it transitioned from being a Web 3.0 primer that explained the technology and terms essential to the evolution of the Web from 1.0 to Web 3.0. It didn’t stop there though! There were interesting interviews which were case studies from commercial companies that successfully executed their own Metaverse projects including NFTs and there was an example action map and plan for approaching a first Web 3.0 project. This book exceeded my expectations by presenting the subject in layman’s terms which speaks to how well the authors knew their respective contributions to the subject! Well done!!!
A good starter to get a very general picture of what to expect and what are the hurdles to bring about a true and profound form of metaverse. It does not go deep into economics, so anyone interested in NFT and metaverse should try it out. The writers are optimistic about metaverse and NFT utility in general, but they do include interviews with experts and industry professionals to explain the limitations and the reality. The book is talking about long-term..like at least 5 or 10 year-long strategy. People in entrepreneurship, marketing and sales should check it out if they tend to be forward-looking. The book also explains some basic key words like VR and AR and deapp, and encompasses various versions of definition for Metaverse. I especially liked the fact that the authors covered many of the actual events happening in the world that are related to NFT and deapp.
In this book by Cathy Hackl, Dirk Lueth and Tommaso Di Bartolo they explain the basics of what the Metaverse is all about, talk about the business benefits as they see them and give case studies as to what is about right now
It's non-technical, as much as it can be and I thought it was a great introduction
For example, there are other books that explain the blockchain mathematically, this book, quite rightly keeps away from all of that
I picked this one up in 2024, well past the nft craze of 2021/2022, when this book was published, just for lols, to see how the material in the book aged.
It's terrible! Full of nft marketing speak and "metaverse dreams", just complete silliness. Do not waste your time with it. Oh, and it looks like it was sponsored by a large nft related project at the time that since has faded into obscurity. Shilling as far as you can see in this "book".
Another quick opportunistic book on a hot currently hot topic. Very light-weight technically. A string focus on NFTs which is good indication of when it was written. The market seems to have soured on NFTs since then. You may have a different point of view but to me there is nothing more annoying in a book about new trends and new tech than a relentless focus on 'how do we monetize all this?'
This read will make you uncomfortable and that's what a book should do . Make you sir on edge get excited and nervous at the same time. Absolutely simple was to explain metaverse .
Libro con tematiche molto basilari per quanto riguarda web3 e metaverso. Interessante il pensiero degli autori e qualche esempio applicato. Consigliato solo per novizi del tema
I heard about this book via LinkedIn. It seemed like it would have interesting and informative information about the Metaverse, NFTs and Web 3.0 from the perspective of individuals already deep in to the Metaverse and that is what I got from this book.
I will say that since it was written a lot of the dreams and fantasies the authors discuss have crashed around them and it's not hard to see why. As educated and involved as these individuals clearly are they discuss their presentation and views are salesperson like and more fantasy then reality. They paint pictures of striking it rich through soulless creations that are produced in either limited supply or greater supply depending on the desire for the wealth returned. I got the feeling that they truly don't understand how an NFT can be developed to truly have value. They have the concept down, they just lack the understanding to make it work and given that NFTs crashed in the way they did since this book was produced, and the Metaverse is essentially a stagnant entity compared to how they envisioned it, is proof of this.
Despite my criticism there are gems to be taken from this book if you want to seriously get in to where the Metaverse can head if it's focused realistically. Ready Player One or Free Guy are movies that depict where the authors envision the Metaverse will head and if it does just about everything they have stated will be true. Right now, there isn't one generic digital battlefield people play in and frankly I would be surprised if that ever occurs.
This is a 3 star ready for me but maybe 4+ star for someone wanting to get in to what the Metaverse, Web 3.0 and NFTs are all about.
