A post-apocalyptic action story where ghosts have taken over the world and it's up to one woman to put things right.
When the barrier between our world and the spiritual realm is torn down, the entire earth becomes haunted. Now a lone survivor may hold the key to closing the barrier, but first she must run a gauntlet of ghosts in the most haunted city in the world.
I'm pretty pissed that the MC punched a freaking old lady in the face. It didn't feel justified and It made it hard to cheer her on or care whether she got gutted (literally). Terrible timing, considering what happened next (she had it coming).
Writers: If you really wanna punch old ladies in the face go ahead. But you better have a damn good setup or a plan to ax the puncher. I mean seriously. That scene made it hard to invest in her as a character. Don't get me wrong- I love a good 'bad' MC (they can't all have cat-saving morals) -but even Lucifer has some redeeming characteristics.
That aside, I liked the premise and the other characters. Though it's not the most original I think there's potential. And the art was pretty. *_* I will be reading the next issue or two- while possibly secretly hoping for Sara's demise. Sometimes first issues just fall short. I've learned that it can pay off to hang in. Fingers crossed.
Ghosts and demons enter our world and 15 years later there's little left, just a few ragtag humans scavenging. Then a scientist comes along that says he knows how to fix it. Not bad. Chitwood seems to have a formula for his comics though making most of them about survivors of end of the world events. The one thing I thought was cool is that part of it takes place at Brookhaven National Laboratory, which is a huge research facility near my house on Long Island.
Enjoyed the setting and the spin on the usual "zombie" apocalypse thing. Vibrant colors emphasize scenes well. Zack Snyder should direct a movie adaptation immediately.
Nice world building and idea. Walking Dead crowd may be interested. Still, plot is kind of sparse and a bit confusing. Not sure if I like the protagonist or even care if she lives. Little unsure how this world works. Seen this idea done better.
