I really enjoyed my first read from Chelle Bliss. Quite impressive for a novella. I was a bit pessimist with the title and blurb because I thought there will be 'switch' involved which is not my thing. But, when I started to read for a few chapters, I enjoyed it very much.
Ret is a dominant without submissive because he wants real connection and something long-term. Not only sex. Alese was well-know for being a switch and she was caught Ret's attention. However, Alese wasn't sure if she's submissive or dominant so she tried to take both role. Ret offer to help Alese search her role but being Ret's submissive and their journey begins.
Both Ret and Alese aren't newbie in the BDSM world. Even they're not looking something permanent, but their heart said otherwise. They're only acquaintance which is didn't know each other deeply. When Ret wants to help Alese search her role, he's waiting patiently until they're comfortable each other and ready for the next step. Patient is one of the most important thing. Rushing into things when not okay will lead into disaster. After, they're step into the real play, trust has to be earn from the submissive which is Alese trust him. Another thing I enjoyed is their play isn't lightweight. They're quite expert and really kinky which is made me learn about new 'stuff'.
Unfortunately, because of the time skip, I hardly know both of them outside the BDSM club. They have insta-love in the end. For a novella, this was quite expected because I think the purpose is to find Alese's true submission towards Ret. The bonus was their happily ever after, of course. Ret found his dream submissive in Alese.
I really liked the story because it was promising and focused. In real world, BDSM isn't easy like this but I loved the premise. This case was quite close enough, I think. Also trust is hard to give and a real dominant has to earn from the submissive :)

Alese is a teacher by day but also a submissive who is unsure about whether she is naturally a sub or a switch. Based on her previous experiences in either position, they were failures in every way and her ability to trust others and her instincts has waned.
One night, Ret witnesses a nasty encounter between Alese and another club Dom who didn’t respect any of her limits. Needless to say, Alese is distraught but Ret is able to comfort and talk with her about what occurred and what she really needs. Based on his previous observations, Ret is convinced Alese is a submissive through and through and asks her permission to prove it.
From that point, Ret and Alese form a bond based upon mutual trust. Ret’s lessons, starting with simple obedience, a variety of sex toys and orgasm denial, are beyond hot and Alese is more than willing to heed her Dom’s commands.
As Ret continues with Alese’s training, they realize there is more to their Dom/sub connection than they originally thought. For Alese, feeling accepted and cherished is important to her and Ret becomes head over heels for his submissive.
Overall, this novella was a fast and hot read. The alternating POVs offered a chance to understand both characters, especially given the story’s length. From the beginning, I really liked Ret and enjoyed how Alese’s character evolved. The sticking point for me was the end because it was just too insta-love. Maybe I just selfishly wanted more dungeon lessons for Alese, but the ending felt a little abrupt. Chelle Bliss is a new author to me and I enjoyed her style of writing. I will look forward to reading other books by this author.
Sidenote: I am confused by the bookcover. In no way is Ret anything other than a Dom, but before I started this book, the cover left me with the impression that he might be the switch rather than Alese.

I actually loved that this was a novella. It was what I was looking for and needed. However, I wanted just a tiny bit more from the couple. This story is basically foreplay. The story is super hot, but they only have sex twice in the book (at the very end) and it is completely glazed over and not detailed. He also never kissed the heroine until the last page!
So, I guess if you like foreplay of the BDSM variety this book is perfect for you. I just needed a little more is all...

Welllllll. It passed the time on break at work well enough. Unfortunately I can't say much else positive about it. But I can say that it dealt with consent, boundaries, and limits well. There are FAR too many books that claim to be erotic, but confuse being dominant with being a rapey jackass.
Really, this novella's downfall for me is the switch aspect. The main conceit of the novel is that Alese is a switch, but that really isn't represented on page. There also isn't much to this besides the sex. Y'all know I'm always showing love to my smutty-smutsville shelf, but my favorites in the genre have developed characters, a plot that doesn't feel like background noise, and also great sex. (See Beyond Shame, Asking for It, Trinity)

Just my feelings .... But I hated it...
I feel kinda gypped really, the description I read made me think of a totally different story than what I just read ;( Both the title and the description mention a " Switch" ( some one who is equally versed and comfortable as BOTH a Dom./Domme and a sub.)and then lead to believe said "Switch" is possibly going to try and "Top" from the "Bottom& possibly... Ok.. BS!!! 1st Alese is NOT ,I REPEAT NOT!!! Not a "Switch" ,she's a very confused 27 yr.old woman ,who seems to have very little conference in herself and what she wants ,especially between her age,and experience w/kink and how lucky big she's been at it... Yes,the book starts off w/ her coming off a rather nasty exp. w/a rather d bag of a Dom. but after being at this for a year or more it seems A.) maybe just maybe she should have a better sense at judging ppl/sizing them up ,just a tad... And it seems she should know what did she falls on by now... Sub. Or Dom. ? I'm afraid ppl might think I'm being too harsh ,any while normally / maybe only BDSM books w/female Dommes and male sub.s are my thing ( because I definitely know that m NOT the submissive type) but this as not the book described,the sound like it be full of interesting by play from two confident sexy self assured ppl,both wanting dominance at times and maybe,just maybe She was gonna be on top... He’s certain that under the right Master, Alese’s true submissive nature can thrive. Although he has some misgivings about approaching a relationship with the novice, he can’t seem to stop himself from offering up his services to show her exactly what it truly means to submit.
TBS was fuck hot. The only thing I can say about this book that is not raving about how sensational it is, is that I wanted more. He’s certain that under the right Master, Alese’s true submissive nature can thrive. Although he has some misgivings about approaching a relationship with the novice, he can’t seem to stop himself from offering up his services to show her exactly what it truly means to submit.
TBS was fuck hot. The only thing I can say about this book that is not raving about how sensational it is, is that I wanted more. I could have read about these two playing for days on end and not be bored. This was an okay read. The story opened with the lead male character observing a friend giving pleasure to his girlfriend in The Club. Ret's dialogue seemed kind of stiff in the beginning until the reader got to Alese's POV. From there the story picked up some more steam.

I read this for one reason, to get my smut and bdsm fix all in one package. It didn't really do the trick but it was still was a good story. Alese is not a switch, so its a little misleading.

In a market flooded with wannabe authors offering books from the weird to the wonderful, readers are occasionally treated to stories which take them far away from the humdrum of everyday life. For me, Chelle Bliss is an author whose writing embraces me like a comfort blanket and helps me to find that ultimate escape into a fantasy-land unlike no other.
In Top Bottom Switch, Chelle’s storytelling took me into a world which challenges the norm. For me, kinky stories that embrace the BDSM lifestyle are approached cautiously rather than emphatically and, unless I find comfort in the characters, I can often find myself finding displeasure at the expense of the characters’ pleasure. I need a Dom and their Sub to work together in harmony rather than in a tentative and uncomfortable manner but thankfully, Ret and Alese were a match destined to be bound together. Ret was smooth in his dominance and despite his fierce reputation, he handles the damaged Alese sensitively and helps her to find what she has unknowingly been looking for.
I will never be a self-professed expert in all things BDSM so I can't comment on the authenticity the scenes and Club Life but what I found was an entertaining story which spanked the reticence out of me whilst Ret sets about making Alese his. Their connection was most assuredly felt throughout the story as readers follow them on a journey of self-exploration and a testing of boundaries. Despite how Ret and Alese’s story commences, it is quickly apparent that this is a love story; just one borne from a less conventional lifestyle. Ret was strong but tender and Alese was more than receptive to his demands, administrations and kinky challenges.
The only problem with this book, and it was a big problem for me….. it was just too short. I knew it was only a novella but having connected and started to love the characters, I was really disappointed when their story jumped to the epilogue. Readers are offered the chance to vote at the end of the book for more from Ret, Alese and The Club so another instalment could certainly be on the cards. (Fingers crossed!!!)
This book took Chelle’s storytelling into a more sexually oriented direction but she more than rose to the challenge in Top Bottom Switch. I found the story fascinating, but not titillating, and the kink was balanced out by a simple but yet strong storyline. You certainly get a lot of bang for your buck in this story!

I have had this author's books on my TBR for ages but aside from another brief story in the Night Shift anthology, I haven't found the time to work them into my reading rotation. After reading this novella, I really need to fix that situation!
Ret has been feeling more and more unsettled lately when he goes to the Club. Play has been leaving him unfulfilled and for the first time ever, he is thinking about finding a permanent submissive. Alese has always intrigued him but she seems to be confused about what type of relationship she is seeking. He may be just the guy to help her discover her true desires.
Alese enjoys the Club but she has yet to find anyone she truly clicks with. She has dabbled in Domme classes but she freezes when it comes to taking control. When a scene with an inexperienced Club member goes badly, Ret is there to comfort her and make her an offer: give him a chance to earn her trust and he will show her exactly who she longs to be.
Top Bottom Switch was one of the rare novellas I have read that felt like a complete story despite the shortened length. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see more Ret and Alese in the future! They were both fun and really hot together, and Ret's occupation could lead to an interesting full length story. I have read quite a few BDSM stories and compared to many of those other books, Ms. Bliss did an excellent job drawing me in and ratcheting up the heat especially with the shortened page count she was working with. Top Bottom Switch is most definitely worth the 1-click!

Holy freakin' hell... this petite novella is a little damn firecracker! It's packs quite a punch for such a short story. I read this in one sitting (maybe 2 hours) and it had me laughing, cringing, and fanning myself and girly bits. Pick it up today and don't wait to read it. Read it NOW!
Ret is 6'4" for godsakes. Need I say more? He's a Dom with a dilemma. He's not pleased with his current situation and the prospects seem bleak. As luck would have it, Alese seems to be in a similar situation. Hmmmm... what could happen?
Alese is not sure where she fits into this BDSM lifestyle. Should she train to be a Domme or should she explore her options in being a Submissive? After a bad situation gets worse, I think she's ready to throw in the towel. That is until Ret steps in!

Okay I am back. Holy hell Top Bottom Switch is what I love in a BDSM book, and even though this was a novella I was not left unfulfilled by any means. Ret and Alese will have you reaching for your significant other, your favorite toy, or if you are in public (like I was) have you squirming in your seat.
We start off with Ret being what a Dom should be, protective, dominating, perceptive, and above all caring when it comes to a sub’s well-being. I believe that Ret and Alese was a perfect match, even though at first she swore she was a switch, Ret knew instinctively that she was submissive and knew he wanted to play with her. Watching the dynamic between these two play out was hot, intense and if you know anything about this type of relationship or have knowledge of BDSM, it was beautiful. A Dom finding his sub, a sub finding her true place, and a trusting relationship forming is truly moving.

This had the potential to be a great book but unfortunately it was too short and felt unfinished. Chelle Bliss is an amazing author and I'm a huge fan of her books and she definitely nailed the BDSM aspect of the book but it felt like it was missing the depth of the story. Ret is a Dominant and he's a member of The Club and lately he's bored with the same partners. Alese joined The Club and is trying desperately to be a Domme but she is horrible at it. During a scene she can't make simple decisions and freezes up when it comes to telling someone what to do. Ret knows Alese is really a submissive and thinks only the right partner will bring that out in her. After an incident at the Club leaves Alese feeling frustrated Ret proposes they slowly start a D/s relationship together.

Holy shit this book was hot. It was short but doesn't lack heat. Ret hasn't found a sub that lights a fire in him and Alese isn't quite sure if she wants to be a Sub or a Domme. Alese has always wanted Ret and now she gets her chance. Ret wants to show her how it can be to submit. Will Alese & Ret find what they both need? I love Ret & Alese and I'm hoping there will be more.

Chelle Bliss certainly knows how to write and thoughtfully craft a story that packs the best kind of punch. Her books are always well written, easy to sink right into, and they pack the best amount of heat and connection between the dynamic characters she creates. I have really enjoyed reading all of her stories, and Top Bottom Switch was no exception. This book was exceptionally heated, to the point that I think I blushed in the best way while reading it. This story also had two characters I immediately loved, and wanted to know more of. From the very first page of this story I was hooked into everything I was reading, and it was a truly enjoyable read.
This novella is part of The Club series, and each story is by a new author and follows a new couple in the same BDSM club. This story follows Ret and Alese, two people who are both searching for that right person to share their lifestyle with. They both know what they do and don't like, and they're searching for that person that completes all of their wants and desires. This novella follows their story together as they embark on a wickedly hot and passionate story together as they see if they're meant to be. Their story in Top Bottom Switch is full of them, their proclivities, and soon these two find that they might have just stumbled upon the exact right person.
What I loved about this story was that it was so easy to jump right into. Chelle Bliss puts you right in the thick of it in the best way. She connects you right away to the story and to what these characters are thinking and feeling. She puts you with them throughout this entire story in the best way. She lets you be there in the moments when they first start to look at each other, she lets you feel for them, and through it all she sweeps you up in the electric heat and sparks they share, and it makes this story so fantastic to read.
I truly can't rave enough about Ret and Alese, and how heated and steamy what they share is. I truly could not get enough of it, and it pushed me in the best way right along with them. Along with that heated connection it is also obvious that they feel a little something more for each other. Chelle Bliss did a phenomenal job of balancing that heat and emotional connection they share in this story, and experiencing all of that just made me love them more. The more I read this story and the more I jumped into it all with them, the more I couldn't get enough. Their story is so fulfilling and so enjoyable to read, and it made for such an outstanding read.
If you're looking for a quick, satisfying read that will push your boundaries in the best possible way, then you need to read this story. Having fallen in love with Chelle Bliss's writing from the moment I met the Gallo family, I never turn down an opportunity to step into one of her fictional worlds and discover new characters to fall in love with. So the moment Top Bottom Switch was introduced, I was giddy with excitement to be thrust into this darker world where pleasure knows no bounds and props are used to ratchet up the need and ecstasy. Chelle takes us on an enlightening, intense journey to Karim, Texas to meet Ret in Alesa in the midst of a sex club and learn how dominance, submission, trust, and love go hand in hand. Ret and Alesa are eye opening, pulse spiking entertainment that will have you ready to visit again and again. Get ready for a book full of moans, flushed cheeks, and downcast eyes.
Ret North wants all the control but also desires a woman who will challenge him with her saucy mouth and keep him on his toes. This is a kinky, sensual, sexy and erotic novella that delves deeply into the BDSM lifestyle, and the connection the partners share! Top Bottom Switch is incredibly well written, something i've come to expect from Chelle Bliss. The story is captivating, the play scenes are completely enthralling and erotic. Overall a very engaging story line, that I would have given five stars if it had been a bit longer, and more of their relationship had been shared. I really hope that this couple appears in future books and their story continues.

I don't usually read novellas just because these books always seem rushed, the action and chemistry between the two main characters not allowed to develop completely. And I can say that this book isn't any different.
I did enjoy the interaction between the H and h. And I also appreciated the fact that the author explained that these two people weren't strangers, but had known each other in passing.
I'm kind of "old fashioned" so I don't really understand the concept of playing BDSM games with someone you don't know. So the fact that Alese and Ret though not actually friends but a little more than acquaintances was wonderful.
When Alese came bursting upon the pages, I gasp because of the situation she found herself in. And I cheered when the men of this club came to her rescue.
Ret...if there were ever a man that would make me want to explore this kind of lifestyle, it would be him. He's so careful and so caring of Alese and her feelings. The fact that he puts his wants and needs behind hers...that's a real man right there.
Top Bottom Switch is a stand alone with a HEA, but I just felt like there could have, should have been more for these two people.

I have voraciously read anything written by Chelle Bliss and I was so excited to hear about this latest addition. I happen to love the BDSM genre and wow, Ms. Bliss knocked it right out of the park. Although this is not a particularly long read (a Novella) it is HOT HOT HOT!!!
This is the story of Ret North, a much sought after Dominant at The Club, known for the fact that he doesn’t want a committed relationship. Alese Kane doesn’t know whether she is a Domme or a submissive.
After a scene Alese is a part of goes horribly wrong, Ret decides that it is time to show her who she truly is, a submissive. The fact that Alese has wanted Master Ret for so long only ignites the flames.
I love BDSM stories, the kinkier the better and Ms. Bliss did not disappoint. I was riveted from page one and in fact read it in one go. I just couldn’t put it down. The storyline was believable and extremely well written; both Ret and Alese were characters that I could easily relate to and I thoroughly enjoyed their story.
I loved this book. The heat and emotions are intense and don’t be surprised if you get burnt as you read. I love kink and there was certainly kink to this book. There were some extremely stimulating and panty melting moments reading this book.
