Wow! I could NOT put this book down. I don't feel I have ever experienced this level of psychological thrill within a book. I personally thought She is Me, Too was great, but this is a whole new level. She is within Me is one of the most twisted, roller coaster rides I've been on. You don't even know which way to go till it happens! When you get this book, just go ahead a take a day or two off cause your not gonna take a break from this one.
Like a 2.5 honestly. This duet was not needed. The first book was fine on its own, but now I'm even second guessing my original rating on that book because I just didn't care for this one at all.
Great second installment of She is Me, Too. I love the continuation of the characters and I’m so glad the enablers inspired another book! This kept me engaged and wondering what was coming next. Another 5 star read for sure, I could not put it dow. Thank you T.M Shivener for an ARC in exchange for my honest review!
I received an ARC of this book for my honest review. First if you haven't read She is Me, too you should read that first or you won't understand what is happening. if you have read She is me too and you want more this is it. What a great continuance!! I love seeing kinda the inside of Winnie/Winifred/Trista's head. if you have triggers this probably isn't the best book for you.
"No great mind ever existed without a touch of madness." ~ Aristotle
A world where when life is too much to handle, a new you must arise. The world isn't perfect, and sometimes people are unable to cope.
This book has the reader experiencing the parts of "Winnie" that all serve a purpose for her to show up in ways that fit. Situations where a youthful side is needed, times where a risky flirt is valued, moments where logic and organization can be lifesaving, and glimpses where full awareness of one's vulnerabilities and genuine care are heartbreaking.
How much can one accept about themselves if they hold darkness inside? A darkness they don't feel they can control? Is it better to detach or better to immerse into a whole? Trauma and fear can play such a significant role in the way people show up. Sometimes, awareness of our brain protecting us from a deeply rooted memory is necessary in order to face the next day. Awareness that sends chills down your spine as you ensure the lock never gets rusty and holds strong. Sealing away those parts from the past.
The brain is a powerful tool that functions under survival mode when faced with ongoing stress and trauma. One's brain chooses to fight, flight, or freeze. A necessity and a flaw when uncontrolled. To shut down and dissociate is a response that shuts everything down to prevent an overwhelming emotional impact.
This book does a beautiful job helping a reader experience and understand a glimpse of what that is like. The ways it helps and the ways it hurts.
Hats off to the author on another amazing book! Can you find her mentioned in the story? Be sure to read the acknowledgments as well! Who knew there could be so many gems from front to back of this book! After all, she writes about the "one's she knows."

Overall not bad. Let me preface this by saying i LOVED the first book in this duet. i read it on KU then proceeded to purchase a signed copy. I feel like DID is portrayed wonderfully in both books. I liked a lot of aspects to this book but we are going to talk about what i DIDN’T like. First and foremost i believe this book needs some more specific tw. not for me. i don’t have any triggers whatsoever but if you read the first book and then this one there’s a huge difference. There is a lot of abuse and medical neglect, murders/gore, and r@pe. some people may not expect that and read this book and regret it. I feel like winnifred was way too whiney and childish in this book. way more so than she was in the last book. like why the fuck is she so obsessed with tyler? We were also introduced to tons of new personalities and it was a lot to keep up with. How did walter know where tyler took Winnifred? he said there were cameras at Tyler’s mother’s house but they didn’t talk about where they were going when winnifred and tyler left on foot. Other than that it wasn’t bad.

Review: Blown away by the twists and turns of another psychological thriller. TM Shivener does it again! This book, like the first one, kept me turning pages and couldn't put in down (via kindle app ;) ). Numerous personalities the first book didn't mention. This continues where the cliff hanger of the last book ends. Doesn't disappoint with the spicy parts and each personality is clearly different than any other. The age range of them is something unbelievable. I never knew the details of dissociative identity disorder until this story. When Walter reappeared, I loved it. 😞. My favorite love story is Winnie & Thorn. I wished they were given a different ending but it unfolded with many other obstacles and its clear Winnie/Winnifred is better alone :( 💔
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
T.M. Shivener is back with another “out of the ballpark” (psych ward?) hit! This book continues the story of Winnifred Winters, and we not only have wonderful character development, and a very engaging plot but also the inclusion of new characters! One thing I also liked was the very tasteful way you’re left in the dark during chapter transitions, which act as the alters switching over, giving the “how’d I get here?” Feel much more real. T.M. exhibits a masterful sense of world building, and storytelling. This is not to be missed if you enjoy thrillers.
You absolutely must read the first book before reading this one. In Book 2 Winnie has added another personality, Clarinda, who functions as the mother she has always needed. The action continues almost exactly where Book 1 leaves off. There are some new characters, several spicy scenes, but most of all, this was an exploration into Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) that was not exploitative. The author's notes at the end were extremely helpful.
Thank you to the author for an ARC of this book. It is available now!
This book has it all! Twists and turns on every SINGLE page! I normally do not read thriller/suspense type books, but this series is just fabulous! Kudos to the author for such a different approach to mental health issues. You must read the first book (She is me, too) in the duet first to fully comprehend the storyline in this one. My question is, "How in the heck does someone think up these graphic scenarios??" No matter what your usual reading material is, you will enjoy this book immensely!
Over a year has gone by since I read She Is Me, Too and this one did not disappoint. Winnifred must have to wear cargo pants to keep up with all that baggage. Throw Lover Killer into the mix, and we have a brand-new bag of fun. Fans of book one will much appreciate this one. The girls are forced into some sticky situations. If they could just work together, maybe they can figure a way out. With no one to trust, not even the voices in her head, Winnifred struggles to go on. Hang on to the edge of that seat, this one is wild!
I just finished the second part of Winnifred Winters’ story and it was so full of twists and turns that my brain is buzzing as I digest what I’ve read. What a masterpiece of storytelling Tanji has laid out in this book! This gives us a great glimpse into the mind and backstory of a woman living with DID. I could have never guessed where the story was leading but enjoyed the trip very much! Make sure you have read She Is Me, Too before reading this book, then dive into the deep end with the second book!!!
I have read everything TM Shivener has written. She is me too and she is within me are by far my absolute favorites. The details are incredible. I loved this follow up to she is me too. The characters and all their crazy flaws make this book a page turner! Some of the details are shocking but that’s why she is such a great writer. Makes you go WTF!! Thank you so much for sending me an advanced readers copy. This is my honest review.
Great read! I recommend this book after you’ve read She is Me, Too. This psychological thriller weaves you through the life and personalities of Winnifred. There are so many twists and turns. You keep trying to guess where the story is going next but you can’t predict the next turn. You feel the sadness of Winnifred’s character. She wants a normal life but something or someone always gets in the way. I read this book in two days. I could not put it down.
First I want to thank the author for sending me an ARC for an honest review.
I’ve read a lot of books this year and I can honestly say this is in my top 5 favorites. The twists were great. I loved seeing their personalities come together. I read this almost in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down. The end of every chapter ending with me needing to know what happened next.
A real page turner filled with great twist. I am amazed by the Authors imagination, creativity, and writing style. I loved delving more into the complex characters. The author is an incredible writer. I'd love for both books to be made into a movie. The ending was to pick your jaw off the floor moment. A must read by any psychological thriller fan.
Loved the twisty thriller. Great follow up from book 1! Winnie is still my favorite. I really liked that the author put the info at the end and talking about integration. I like the psychological perspective, how it was written into the story. That was really good especially for ppl who don't know much bout DID. Another 5 star book from this author!
Winnie, Winnefred, Trista and more all reside as one body. In the first novel, we read a tale of these personalities and what one has done. Book two ties up some cliff hangers, and brings more thrilling events!!! I loved both She is me too, and She is within me!! I will definitely be following this author!!!
Was patiently awaiting this sequel because I had so much fun with the original one, it definitely felt slapped together, but nonetheless very entertaining and this was the first book I’ve been able to read quickly in about 8 months (thanks depression!). Real question though, how did that little boy end up in the chimney???
Another fantastic, jaw dropping thriller by T. M. Shivener! This book contains MATURE and GRAPHIC content, intended for readers 18+. Read at your own discretion.
Winnifred Winters has DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) and in this instalment, we discover a new identity, Clarinda. We follow Winnifred and her alters after the end of Book 1 (She Is Me Too) on her journey, but one part of her believes she’s on the run with a serial killer, another feels she’s being held captive, a third is going to ‘take care’ of him. Uncertain how to navigate her new reality, she fears she may never be able to fully process her traumatic history without her doctor.
As always, T. M. Shivener has a way of writing thrillers! You will be thrown left, right and centre with this wild ride of a sequel! As a member of the Psychological Thrillers Readers group, I saw Book 1 take off and I cannot wait for Book 2 to do the same!
It didn’t take me long to read this book because I couldn’t put it down. After reading the first, She Is Me Too, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one. So many twists and turns from start to finish! Loved the continued story of Winnifred Winters…insane!
This book had me from start to finish. Some parts felt out of place and not needed. Also, I felt the ending fell a bit flat. Perhaps that is because the end of "She Is Me Too" had my mind blown. Overall, it was a great quick read that kept me engaged and wanting more. Hats off to T.M. Schivner 👏.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish, and I believe the perfect ending to Winnifred Winters' life story. If you enjoy physiological thillers, you will NOT regret this series!!!
I read this book in a day and I freaking loved it!! I loved how it kept me wanting to continue reading! It was hard to put down!!! I loved the continuation of the characters!
