colleagues meet at work, and begin a romance

Ava and Oliver are the main characters of this love story. Oliver is undercover to learn whether he has made a good decision of purchasing GreenLeaf Dynamics. Ava is a department head and they are assigned to work out how they can keep this company from going under. As they work together they began to notice things of each other.
While the two are coming up with various ideas someone leaks the condition of Greenleaf Dynamics financial problems. Oliver has to call a meeting to inform employees that he is the owner, which is not what he wanted to d. Ava is not happy with Oliver because she believes he has lead her on. Oliver decides to take Ava to see how he has invested in a disadvantage community as to indicate his heart was in the right place. This leads to going to the Empire Club for dinner and a night at the Club’s reserved suite of rooms. I found that there were areas that could have been included as to when Oliver met Ava’s daughter Sophie. The ending chapter they are living together as husband and wife. As the story ends Oliver and Sophie are cooking a meal making meatballs for a spaghetti dinner, and then they sit down and have a meal as a family.

'Oliver' was interesting. The plot was filled with undercover work in trying to save a company while incorporating an environmental component, striving to develop a relationship, and love. Oliver and Ava, the main characters, tried hard to reach their HEA although they didn't seem like a likely pair. Yet, for some reason, they kept trying. However, I liked the poetic/flowery descriptions the author used throughout. They created a light-hearted tone. Overall, I liked the amusing novella.
I received a copy for free and am voluntarily giving my honest review.

Nice Read…

The Billionaire Empire Club Series, is definitely a series that one needs, in their collection.

My expectations were right on the button, for this book. The storyline is seamless and flows very well. The scenes are well detailed and the characters are very much relatable. However, the only problem I have with THIS book, is that there are a few missing pieces from the storyline. But I’m looking forward to see if that gets rectified soon.

This is the first time that I have ever read anything from this author. And I can ALREADY tell, that it won’t be the last.

A chance

Lying usually gets you in deep trouble. This was undercover boss who ran into the woman he has been waiting for. I enjoyed the story but it was disjointed at times. The ending hinted at something and didn't finish it. This series is good but needs a complete ending unless it's going to carry over in the other stories in this series.

Very nice read.

This was a very nice story. I didn't have the wow factor as the previous books had. But nevertheless, it was still very enjoyable. I loved the chemistry between Oliver and Ava. It was intense and sexy all at the same time.

not stimulating!!!!

It’s been a long time, but a book has been so hard to read. The storyline was dragging, I fell asleep, because it just did not stimulate the brain when you read it. The book cover was nice did an editor even read these book.

Oliver knows what he wants. I like that Ava is a singe mother and getting another chance to find love again. Office romance lived up to expectations, secret identity, to me, the handwriting was on the wall, not sure why Ava felt so betrayed. Short, steamy and fluffy.

Oliver

I enjoyed reading the love story of Oliver and Ava, however I didn't like the hang cliff ending. It was an open ended statement that wasn't answered. Besides that hang cliff ending the book had a lot of intrigue and drama.

Oliver by Jasmine Hartley is the second book in her Billionaire Empire Club series. The first book featured Ethan and we get to see him again briefly. Oliver Bennet is an honorable and conscientious employer. When it appears that one of his businesses is about to go under, he decides to put himself on the front line and see if the business can be salvaged. Oliver goes to work as “John Smith” and becomes more invested than he could even imagine. Single parent Ava Johnson is happy to meet “John” her company’s newest employee. He is friendly, handsome and has an outstanding knowledge of business procedures, maybe he is just what they need to save the company. As John and Ava become closer, both professionally and romantically, Ava begins to suspect that John is too good to be true. When the truth comes out that “John” is really Oliver will he be able to salvage the business and most importantly Ava’s heart? Ms. Hartley has given us a gentle love story with angst and believable conflict. Ava and Oliver are extremely likable characters and readers will certainly root for their HEA!

His deception turned on him

Oliver Bennett went under cover to find out how to save his investment. He never expected to find Ava Johnson who won his heart. He was uncertain how to go about revealing his real identity because he did not want to hurt Ava. She understood his intentions and in the end, love won. Ava got just what she needed, a companion and family for her daughter Sophie.

NOTE: Update after re-read on 30 June 2024 This was an easy quick read. I needed to occupy some time with reading and this was the ticket. However, I prefer stories with more drama in the plot.
