My scarred leg and a piece of paper are all I have to show for seven years of service. Honorably discharged, they call it. More of a consultation prize if you ask me.
I've been in rehab for the last six months. Two overseas and four in the states. That's a lot of time to contemplate life. Even better, it's a lot of reflecting on my past mistakes.
Six months ago, I was a passenger in a humvee listening to my brother-in-arms share his dreams for his future. Now I'm the guy who's tasked with delivering his If I Die letter to his only surviving relative. His little sister, Evie
Six months is a long time to wait for your brother's last words. I promised Shane I'd make sure they reached his sister. But I never expected the little girl he described in his stories to be all grown up, firey, and sexy as hell. I didn't plan to fall in love.
Now Evie is my reason for living. She's what gets me through to another day. But she's also hurting, and I remind her of what she's lost every day that I stay.
Can two broken hearts find peace within each other, or will the truth I've kept hidden break us both for good?

WOW!! I couldn't put this one down. I absolutely love it!! This was a nice quick, short read.
Trevor meets Evie when he comes to Summerset to deliver a letter to her from her brother, Shane who was killed in action. Trevor doesn't plan on staying in town, he just wants to give Evie her brother's letter and leave. The problem is when Evie answers her door, Trevor can't hand over the letter to her. Trevor tells her he has the wrong address, but Evie feels like she knows Trevor. He later shows up at the bar that she works at. The bar his friend, Shane talk to him about owning one day with his sister. Trevor gets in between a regular and an out of towner to stop a fight. Trevor lays both of them out cold, then Fred the owner of the bar takes a baseball bat and knocks out Trevor. Evie feels bad so she asks Fred to help her get him in her truck and she takes him to her apartment. Later Trevor wakes up, he isn't sure where he's at until he sees Evie putting a cold cloth on his forehead. As they talk Evie offers Trevor a job at the bar, first because they need someone and second she doesn't want him to leave, she's felt safe for the first time since her brother, Shane passed away. Trevor takes the job, he wants to stay in town to get to know Evie also he hasn't given her the letter from her brother. On Trevor's first night Evie asks him if he knew her brother and he tells her he did. They spent a lot of time together. Then Trevor tells Evie what happened in the accident that killed her brother, then he shows her his scars. Evie thanks Trevor for sharing her brother's last moments, she tells him she wanted to know what happened. A week later, everything is light between the two of them. Evie asks Trevor if he has any plans. It's the one night they close up early, she asks him to go to the river with her. Its where a few of her friends gather and have a bomb fire. Trevor doesn't want to go but Evie wants to so he goes along with her so she's not alone. Evie introduces Trevor to her and Shane's friends. One of them gets a little handy with Evie but Trevor doesn't say anything but he wants to. One of her friend Trevor notices she doesn't hug him back even though he puts his arms out for her. Trevor and Evie find out that he thinks he has a shot with Evie. When Trevor suggest they should go sensing the tension in the air, one friend asks if he's her boss now. When the friend suggest that Trevor isn't really a friend of her brothers that bothers him. He needs to teach him a lesson so fist start flying. Evie pulls Trevor away from everyone and tells him he shouldn't have done that. Trevor asks Evie if this was a set up, but she tells him no. She tells him that she thought coming here would feel like old times. This week with him it felt like old time, like she could live again. Evie tells him the only reason he's stuck around is because of her brother he feels he owes it to him. Trevor tells her she has it all wrong, that's is the reason he hasn't acted on his feelings. Trevor tells her he didn't come her to fall for her but he has. She tells him to tells her why he did come to this town, it not for the scenery. He tells her he did come to town for her, he has plenty of time when he was laid up in the hospital to think and all he thought about was her. He scoops her up into the truck and then he climbs in behind the wheel, she tells him to take her home. They begin kissing, then taking each others clothes off. She tells him she wants him, he tells her he's thought about this moment. Trevor tells Evie he hasn't been with anyone in years, and she tells him she's good too. They get physical, then Evie tells him not to hate her if she falls in love with him. He tells her he could never hate her he's all hers. Trevor wakes the next morning not realizing he could never be this happy. His phone rings while he's making coffee. It's his sponsor checking in on him, he asks him how he's doing and Trevor tells him what's going on. He also tells him he hasn't given Evie the letter from her brother yet he wants to do it tonight. Trevor finishes his call and then takes a second cup of coffee int he bedroom for Evie. She's sitting on the bed and won't face him, he hears her sniffle, then comes around and asks her what's wrong. That's when he sees the letter in her hands. He tells her that was one of the reasons he came but he couldn't hand her the letter and walk away. She tells him he had not right to keep this letter from her. He tells her he know he tried to give it to her so many times. Evie asks him what he was going to give her the letter tonight then dump her and leave. He tells her no he would die first before he took advantage of her. She asks him who was on the phone, he tells her his sponsor, who is part of a MC up north, they help vets acclimate to civilian life. Trevor tells her he was messed up bad when he came back, Shane was like a brother to him. She asks him if he ever read the letter and he tells her no. Evie tells him maybe he should read the letter, he tells her no it wasn't meant for him. She tells him she'll read it to him then, in the letter her brother tells her to find Trevor if ever she needs anything. Shane's letter tells Evie that Trevor a little rough around the edges, he's a hothead, but his heart is always in the right place. Trevor tells her that he's not half the man her brother described. Evie tells him he is exactly the man her brother described. She tells him she does need him more than anyone. Trevor knows he's never leaving Summerset with Evie he is home. Six months later, Evie and Trevor now own the bar. They also bought back her families farm home, the one that they want to raise their kids in. Fred finally retired though he still comes in everyday as a customer. Trevor comes over to her while she is talking to Fred. She asks if they have something going on. She tells Trevor he's keeping secrets again, he tells her maybe just one. Trevor carries Evie over to the bar and puts her up on it. Trevor tells her he made a vow once, to her brother that's what brought him here. Tonight he wants to make another vow, he not perfect but with her it feels whole again. He tells her he wants to be that for her, as he opens the box and holds it out to her. He asks her to marry him and she says yes. She tells him there is no one else for her, he's her home. Since they were little her brother promised to take care of her. She tips her head to heave and send up a thank you to her bother and tells him he's perfect. Wrapped in Trevor's arms, it's the only place Evie's meant to be.

I know I keep saying the same thing over and over for this series, I'm just so in love, obsessed and addicted to it. I really can't put them down from start to finish.
These are fantastic, inspiring, sweet and sexy, instalove short stories written by various different authors. They tug (no rip) at your heart strings and set off almost every emotion possible, laughter, tears, horror, rage, sadness, happiness and love. Did I mention I'm addicted to this series? Like seriously I can't read them fast enough!!!
They have great characters that are realistically flawed, emotionally broken, physically damaged and have some demons but they are beautiful, determined, dedicated, fun, strong, committed, loyal, loving and by various means find that special someone or go back to the one, who makes them feel alive and whole again, then they start healing and are rewarded with their Happily Ever Afters!!
I highly recommend this series. I haven't been disappointed yet and it's for a great cause. Our US soldiers who fight for our freedom. I can't wait to start the next book!! Happy Reading!!!! If you'd like to support a hero go to https://heartofawoundedhero.com
His last mission to a fallen brother brings him the new beginning he never expected
It had been a while since I had read a Reagan Phillips book so when I picked up A Hero's Vow: Heart of a Wounded Hero I was excited not only to be able to read this author again but also because I have been enjoying the books I have read in this multi-author series. I fell in love with this couple, Evie and Trevor. He is a scarred vet on his last "mission" after being discharged and she is the younger sister of his best friend and brother in arms. Evie is full of pizz and vinegar right from the start where Trevor is more hesitant, until he isn't when it finally matters the most. This story had my heart from the start and kept it clutched tightly to the perfect HEA. I would definitely say this book is a RECOMMENDED READ!
I enjoy this series of stories because even if the people might not be real, the situation could be. Trevor was stationed in a war zone with his best friend, Shane. Shane spoke of his sister and their hometown so much Trevor envied him. Shane wrote his sister a letter, gave it to Trevor to give her in case something happened on a mission. During a routine mission, something happened and Shane didn't survive. It took Trevor six months before he could get to her. Read what happens when they met, how they help each other and how they feel about the letter. It's A good story. Written by Cindy :)
Trevor survived a crash in the convoy they were in ( he did have burns from that crash), Shane, his friend who was driving, wasn't so lucky. So when soldiers write letters for their loved ones back home, in case something happens to them, they usually leave it with a friend to deliver to their family. He only has a sister left, and that's who Trevor has gone to see. A sweet story with misunderstandings with a HEA. But after seeing snd getting to know her. Will he ever let her go or will they be the glue that hold each other together. A freaking fantastic book and an excellent story to add to the series!.

Trevor was medically discharged from the military. The injuries that caused his retirement, killed his best friend. After months of rehabilitation and many dark moments of grief, he set forth to fulfill his promise to deliver his best friend's last words to his sister. Evie's brother was killed while serving in the military. When Trevor showed up on her doorstep, she knew something was familiar about him. This story was touching. I adored both Trevor and Evie... even Fred was absolutely lovable. Highly recommended!
Trevor was with Shane on a mission on the day Shane died. He promised to deliver his last words in a letter to Shane’s sister Evie. 6 months later having finished rehab for his injuries Trevor sets of on his final mission for his friend. The moment he sees Evie things changed, he’s frightened the letter will open old wounds and hurt her. Trevor is in love with Evie and will do anything to protect her. Sweet, steamy, emotional romance with amazing chemistry and a beautiful HEA.

Evil lost her brother in the war and Trevor was his military “brother” she never met. Trevor was seriously injured in the attack that killed Shane. Shane trusted Trevor to deliver a letter to his sister, Evie. There was instant chemistry when Evie and Trevor met each other. Their story is of healing and moving forward. It was an emotional short story with a HEA that is part of a series, but can be read alone. I enjoyed this book and recommend it for all the feels.

Trevor served with her brother, and promised if anything happened, Trevor would give Evie the letter from him. Three months from the end of the deployment, and accident changed lives.
Now standing at the door, Trevor is questioning should he go through with his promise. Evie is a strong woman and loved her brother, the lost hurt but knowing he sent some there for her helped ease the pain.
This is well written story that pulls at our heart and will have you falling in love with the characters.

This was Trevor & Evie’s story. Trevor's scarred leg and a piece of paper are all he has to show for seven years of service. Honorably discharged, they call it. I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. I thought that Trevor and Evie have a touching story of loss, friendship and love. He needs to do this last thing for his friend. Trevor didn't know that it would hold the key to finding love. I thought Evie was a sweet and understanding person. She loved whole heartedly, even through heartache.

This series has been hit or miss with me but I did like this one. Trevor is bringing a letter to Evie from her deceased brother Shane. He was a brother in arms to Trevor and he owed him this one final thing. He meets Evie and falls hard for her. This was very emotional but very sweet with a nice ending for these two broken hearts.

After recovering from a serious injury, Trevor (H) is ready to fulfill his promise to Shane, his best friend in the Army, and deliver Shane's last letter to his sister, Evie (h). But when he meets Evie, Trevor finds himself drawn to her and keeps the letter secret while he gets to know her. Sweet military romance.
He wrote his sister, Evie, a final letter to be delivered to her by his brother- in- arms, Trevor, if something were to happen to him. An accident takes Shane's life and the last thing Trevor wants is to bring her more pain with reliving the loss of her brother. But a promise is a promise.
Trevor committed to Shane he would see that his sister got his letter, it has taken him six months make the trip to hand deliver it. He is thrown for a loop when she answers the door in a towel, he claims he has the wrong apartment.
Will he be able to leave the town, knowing that Evie will still be here?.
I received an Advance Readers Copy of this book with no obligation to write a review.
Trevor lost his best friend while stationed in Kuwait. He made him the promise to give his sister a letter and now Trevor is on his mission to deliver. But as soon as he sees Evie things change for him. Evie and Trevor fall hard and fast for each other, but when Trevor's secret comes out things change. A bittersweet, Instalove story with sweetness, steam and with a sweet HEA 😍😍😍
Wow... Such a heart wrenching story. Trevor was delivering a final letter to the little sister of his brother-in-arms and fell hard for her. Trevor and Evie's love story was such a powerful story of love after loss. I loved this one. This series is wonderful!
Well written story and well developed characters! I couldn't put this book down and read it in just a few hours! Fantastic! What do you do when your best friend has a final request?
A very touching storyline, he had to complete his final mission for his friend. Loved the connection these two felt for each other. A new author for me, this definitely pulls your heartstrings.
I am voluntarily leaving a review for this book that I received free.
This latest addition to the series was well written and kept me entertained thanks to the engaging story line and endearing characters. A job well done for Reagan Phillips.

What a sweet read. One vow to a friend and a promise to deliver a last letter to his sister. Once he meets her and they get to know each other, she gets the letter and they get their HEA.
