My Yes Is on the Table: Moving from Fear to Faith

Rate this book
Isn’t it time you said yes to God?

What’s holding you back? The risk? The unknown? The unwillingness to shake up the comfortable status quo? Whatever it is, if you’re not in God’s best place, you’re missing out on something great. The Lord is calling you into a Promised Land. But it’s going to take some faith steps to get there.

Jenn Hand wants you to be able to say to God, “My yes is on the table.” Not halfheartedly. Not half the time. Not halfway there. Jenn wants you to go all in with God—because God is all in for you.

My Yes Is on the Table takes you into the story of the Israelites as they journeyed out of the wilderness and into the Holy Land that God had granted them. Each chapter will challenge you to move from a fear stop to a faith step. And once you’ve started taking those steps with God, there’s no telling where you’ll end up.

For too long, you’ve been paralyzed by fear of the future. You feel God calling. You want to go forward with His plans. Yet fear has stopped you from taking the leap. No more! Instead of letting fear stop you short, let faith call you forward with newfound confidence and holy boldness. Put your “yes” on the table, and watch God do more in your life than you could have ever imagined.

I appreciate Jennifer Hand’s narration in My Yes is On the Table. Hearing her writer’s voice as I read this book is like having an encouraging friend chatting with you over a cup of tea. Her use of humor and her ability to paint a picture in my mind is balanced with good, sound advice. She challenges the reader to step from fear into faith by giving biblical examples and sharing her own personal stories.

This book serves as both a motivating guide and a hearty devotional, helping me grow and thrive. I especially love the “My Yes Prayer” and “Heart Work” sections at the end of each chapter. The prayer sections uplift and encourage, with accompanying questions that help me dig deep.

I enjoyed this book even more than I’d expected. I’m inspired and challenged to cling closer to Him when I’m fearful and to trust Him to help me change.

Jenn lives out her YES and invites you to join her! She is an amazing storyteller, she takes you through the book of Joshua in her own life of walking in the wilderness and longing for the promised land.
Jenn will challenge you, cheer for you and if you listen to her podcast cast you can even hear her laugh with you as you go from fear to faith!
One of my MANY favorite quotes is: "Faith is believing in the darkness what God showed you in the light."
Saying Yes is a journey and it is one that you won't want to miss!

I first heard about “My Yes on the Table” in the summer of 2021 as I attended a virtual speaker and writer conference. It seemed that everyone was buzzing about this message. I was so glad to connect with Jenn Hand and when I heard the book was being released I was excited to be part of the launch team and get to dive in before it released.

This book is a hidden gem that will reveal more and more to you over time. As we journey with God we will often be asked to take steps of faith. Often fear, worry, doubt, uncertainty and more will begin to creep in and stop us from fulfilling God’s best plans for our lives. This book will offer the encouragement to take a step of faith no matter how small. Jenn’s fun personality and spirit shine through the pages as she shares her own personal stories of her faith journey. Jenn takes us from the edge of the Red Sea into the Promised Land showing us Joshua’s journey leading the Israelites. There are thought provoking questions that may cause some wrestling but will help lead you forward. I love that each chapter ends with Heart Work, the scriptures that will help us dive deeper as we seek God for our next steps of faith and a prayer that brings hope, encouragement and renewal.

The journey won’t always be easy, sometimes it won’t even make sense but it will ultimately lead to God’s best plans for your life and mine. Whether he is calling you to write a book, step into a new job or calling, heal a broken relationship or something else, you will find strength and courage in its pages. Even baby steps count, it is all progress. At times, God might call you to just rest and be with Jesus as you find refreshment for your heart, mind and spirit. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will laugh until you cry as you read this book over and over. You will see God’s provision for all your needs. Will you let fear stop you or faith move you forward? Will you follow his instructions and leading? The first step is to order the book and dive in. The best is yet to come.

My Yes is on the Table is a book that will move mountains. This down to earth, relatable but oh so inspirational book will leave you with more faith in God than when you started. Jennifer Hand writes with honesty and humor about her own personal struggle of saying "yes" to God and then watching the story not unfold as she imagined. Paralleling her personal experience, Jenn intertwines the story of the Israelites as they journey out of the wilderness and into the Holy Land, God had promised them 40 years earlier. Jenn encourages her readers to find out what is holding them back and to move from fear stops to faith steps. Instead of letting fear stop us short, Jenn calls us to continually put our "yes" on the table so that our faith can call us forward into the life God has for us, that is more than we could have ever imagined.

My Yes is on the Table was a great devotional read! It takes you through a journey of how to be intentional with faith over fear. Jennifer makes so many great points about how and when we say "yes" to God - and why we may not be quite as faithful in saying yes as we might think. I love that she includes places to write throughout each section! It really helped me stop and think about my answers to the questions she asks. At the end of each section is a heartfelt prayer that reflects that section's topic, and some "heart work" suggestions of passages to read for a deeper study. Great job Jennifer! I would recommend this book for adults who are both new and seasoned in faith, as she gives some great insight and point of view.

This devotional book walks you through Joshua's journey and the author's journey to reveal the truth that "the wall-knocking, food-multiplying, paralytic-and-disease-healing, giant-slaying God is still working in the impossible today." "Fear says this is an impossible battle; don't ask for help. Faith says cry out for help to the one our help comes from." My Yes Is On The Table is encouraging, insightful, and (yes) humorous. Every chapter ends with a Yes Prayer and scripture for Heart Work that help you search for your Yes, search for the fear stop that is currently on your heart, and search for the faith step that will lead you to your Yes. A great book that will definitely be read more than one time!

Absolutely recommend this book. I was challenged and inspired. I love how the author is so relateable and vulnerable. The authors personal stories added to the teaching on the book of Joshua and made me laugh. Throughout this book the reader is called to move from fear stops to faith steps using lessons from the Israelite people in the book of Joshua. This helped me to see the book of Joshua in a new way that made it so very practical. I have now read it twice and still got lessons the second time around.

The book has an empowering tone to it, and I appreciate that the author faithfully ties in her theme with that of the Israelites as they came into the Promised Land. Each chapter uses Biblical text from Joshua and includes many often-humorous anecdotes from the author's own experiences. I got to hear many of the anecdotes in person, as the author was a retreat speaker for the church. She is full of life and joy! Each chapter ends with the same reflection questions to help extend the thoughtful process of saying YES to God.

Jennifer Hand, in this her latest book, entwines her personal life experiences with Biblical truths as she walks the reader through the book of Joshua. Her stories will make you laugh and have you shaking your head in agreement. Her thought provoking writing helps you identify what fears are stopping you from walking in faith towards what God is calling you to do and fully experiencing His presence in your life. She gives you positive steps to walk past those fears and prayers to whisper as you walk from fear to faith. I highly recommend, “My Yes is on the Table: Moving from Fear to Faith”.
