Emily Jenkins is a normal eighteen year old. She’s had the same friends since grade school. Her family is supportive. She has Logan Moore. He’s her everything. Her best friend, her high school sweetheart and her confidant. When Logan decides he is going to college out of state while she finishes her last year of high school, her world shatters.

Logan Moore dreams of being an engineer. A lineage passed down to him from many generations. The only difference is he doesn’t want to take the same route as his father and grandfathers. He has chosen to go to school out of state, leaving behind his family...and Emily. She has his heart and he is determined to make the distance between them work.

Their world falls apart one weekend and neither of them know how to handle it. Too much time passes. Too much heart ache passes and before either of them know it, they are different people. When Logan returns for the summer, he decides he needs to set things straight with Emily. He needs her to know that she still owns his heart but before they can resolve their differences, tragedy strikes and their already shattered world crumbles into smaller pieces.

Logan selfishly asks Emily to stay by his side and Emily selflessly agrees. At first, the tension between them makes Emily second guess the decision. But as time passes, she realizes that maybe it wasn’t so bad. Before she can tell him, tragedy strikes again and she regrets not telling him sooner as she isn’t sure she will have a third chance with him.

Will their lives ever be the same?

What happens when you meet the love you are meant to be with in high school, before the trials of growing up? Lather is the story of Emily and Logan, high school loves. Logan is going away to college a year before Emily graduates. A surprise visit to see Logan leaves Emily in a mess.

Emily flees home where she feels that she has to hide her issues from her family leading to nightmares and drinking. By the end of her senior year, Emily is finally starting to get herself together. She is leaving for Ball State months early in order to get a job and settled before her college freshman year.

Logan of course comes home for the summer from college and wants to make right his relationship with Emily. But is it too late? Emily has made a friend with her new co-worker Justin. Justin obviously knows Logan as he shows disdain for Logan. Justin is a bit of a mystery as Emily doesn’t seem to know him except from work.

Things get heated between Emily and Logan on many occasions. But as much as Emily wants to just be done with their relationship, she is still there for Logan’s family. Logan’s family accepts her as part of their family. So it’s no surprise when there is an accident and Emily goes with Logan to be there for him and his parents. There are a lot of miles put on cars going back and forth in Lather as we see Logan chasing after answers and to regain his relationship. Lather is about realizing what you have that is love, growing up, and what it takes to keep love.

A sweet, emotional and suspenseful story about high school sweet hearts Emily & Logan. I received this book in exchange for an honest opinion and I have to say it was a great read.

Emily & Logan face a situation that many young adults find themselves in..going to college, taking different paths..do they stay together or break-up? These two decide that their love can withstand the distance and Logan goes away while Em finishes up her last year of high school. A surprise visit from Em turn their worlds upside down, but did Em really see what she thinks she did. You will have to read the story to find out.

It was emotional, it was real and very accurate as to how some young adults really handle their problems by using alcohol or drugs to numb the pain. I was pleased the author highlighted the negative effects of doing that but without making it seem like an after school special.

There are many twist and turns throughout the book and you are taken through the ups and downs with both Em & Logan as both POV's are shared throughout the book. It was a good flowing story and I love that it had a little suspense thrown in there too.

Even thought I keep saying "young adult" there were a few hot scenes in there too. It was still kept clean enough that a 17+ audience would enjoy it. I definitely recommend and think this author is one to keep on your radar.

Great job Nicki Rae this book is Relentlessbookchic Approved :)

If you enjoy a love story that is not so much lovey-dovey as it is passion, excitement, and suspense, you need to read Lather!

What happens when you fall in love with your soul mate, the one you are meant to be with in high school, before the trials of growing up? Lather is the story of Emily and Logan, high school loves. Logan is going away to college a year before Emily graduates. A surprise visit to see Logan leaves Emily in a mess.

She has to learn how to start moving on and getting on with her life without him. Just as she starts to get her life back to where it should be by moving away to new town where she will be starting school in the fall and who but Logan comes back into her life.

Lather was a good read. I was hooked from the prologue. In the prologue it's present day and Emily is in a hospital room and a police officer comes in to talk to her. Then in Chapter 1 we go back two years. I was a little frustrated because I wanted to know right away why she was in a hospital room. We are brought on a ride of Emily and Logan's relationship.

Lather is told is both Logan's and Emily's POVs. Logan and Emily's relationship has a lot of ups and downs and bumps in the road. At points I felt it was going slow but that was just because I was impatient about finding out about the scene from the prologue. When I finally read the part where the book catches up with the prologue., I was surprised. It was well worth the wait, I never expected that to happen.

This is definitely a good read and you will not be disappointed. Lather is book one in the Moore series. There isn't really a cliffhanger but it does leave you wanting more Logan and Emily. I wonder if book two will be more of there story or if it will be another character's story. Either way I can't wait to read book two.

Lather by Nicki Rae
the first book in the Moore's Series
A great quick read. Emily and Logan high school were high school sweethearts. Logan a bit older than Emily decided after checking out colleges that he wold choose one a bit farther away from Emily. One weekend Emily decided to go pay Logan a visit and boy did she get the surprise of her life. Upon returning back home she gets depressed and starts abusing alcohol. She decides toe not take any calls form Logan because she does not want to hear any excuses. After graduation Emily decided to move straight to Muncie and find a job and get ready for college to start. She find a a job at the local deli and becomes friends with her co-worker Justin. Their are lots of twists and turns in this book. It totally keeps you guessing what is about to happen next. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Rae.

I received this for an honest review. This was an enjoyable read. One of those reads that once you pick it up you do not really want to put it. This was a very good book.
This is the story between Logan and Emily. They have been high school sweethearts as Logan gets ready to go to away to college where Emily still has a year to go. As with many high school romances something always go wrong. This is their story and how they deal with it.
This to me was enjoyable because you see them as a couple before everything happens and as it happens. I found Emily to a very strong female lead who knows what she wants and who she wants. I found Logan to be a very unsure man who did not always know what he wanted other than his wanting Emily..

I received a copy from author for an honest review

Emily and Logan are high school sweethearts. They couldn’t be more happier. Logan goes off to college and Emily get all these insecurities. What happens when your fears come true?

Emily graduates from high school and is about to start colleges. She is still dealing with her break up from a year ago and has been depending on drinking to get rid of her nightmares.

How do you think Emily is going to react when she finds out the love of her life that broke her heart is back from the summer and wants her back?

Every time I thought I had this story figured out the author put another twist in it! She kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more!!! I finished this book in one sitting I was so addicted!

After all the secrets and truths are told will they ever be the same again?

Emily and Logan are everything High School Sweethearts can be. Both are in love with each other and just know that when Logan leaves for college everything will work out. However, Emily's gut feeling says otherwise and is proven true during a surprise visit to Logan. With her world shattered, Emily turns to drinking. She finally gets herself together by the end of her senior year. She is going away for college, has everything planned out. But when an accident happens, Logan gets help from none other than Emily. Logan is wanting nothing more than to right his wrongs with Emily. Is it too late? There is love, suspense, and a lot of action in this one. Told from both POV's you get the whole story. I recommend this one! ~Review done by Chell

Emily and Logan's story takes you through the fall out of a high school romance gone bad and the depth of remorse and regret on both Emily and Logan's behalf.

When Logan and Emily reconnect after a tragic event, the love that they both still feel for each other is apparent. Reading through the lengths that Logan will go to right his wrongs, the apprehension that Emily feels regarding the past, and the twists and turns leave you flipping the pages to find out what happens next.

The suspense, romantic rekindling of a first love and events that take place throughout this book make it engaging and exciting to read.

A great debut novel for Nicki Rae!!

This book was really cute and very pleasant to read, Emily and Logan have been together forever and it always gets difficult when one of them moves away to college. Logan bid farewell to his home town and Emily is left behind but he vows to make it work between them. It all goes swimmingly until Emily surprises Logan and finds him kissing someone else. She finds out he cheated on her and Emily can’t forgive him for breaking her heart. That is until Logan’s parents are in a car accident and she has to be there for him through it. She still loves him and wants to help him.
It’s a really good book and I really enjoyed the storyline and I especially like the twists at the end of the book.

Emily and Logan we're high school sweethearts, but when something happens it shatters them both. Throughout this book the reader gets to see how things happen from both Emily's and Logan's POV. I liked this. While reading, I developed a soft spot for Logan and at times got annoyed with Emily. This book is well written, IMO, and the author did a great job. There is a twist in it, so pay attention to the characters :) Well done, Nicki Rae! Looking forward to more of your work <3

If you enjoy a love story that is not so much lovey-dovey as it is passion, excitement, and suspense, you need to read Lather!
This was a fun, good flowing story that kept me interested throughout. Each time I thought I had everything worked out, author threw in a twist! I felt torn between loving and hating the main male character, but my emotions were sorted out after a big reveal towards the end of the novel.
If you like romance, but are wanting a change of pace, I recommend Lather!

It was good, but Logan and Emily drama do did he cheat, and his explanation of just kissing but nothing else was pretty much most of the topic throughout the whole middle and got to the point I did some skipping, which still didn’t take a way from the story but bypassed all the heartbreaking drunkenness on Emily’s part. Mostly Emily’s pov but several chapters in we finally gets Logan’s pov.

Triggers, Drinking until blackouts attempting of rape (didn’t happen but the kidnapper was close to)
