I didn’t read the previous books that didn’t feel as if I missed out on anything it is about Eric who has found a home in the other world and his made new friends away from his abusive mother alto I love the earth the world with the cat a pillar‘s and the dogfish and Eric‘s loyalty is tested when he knows the secret that is keeping one of his friends ill there’s trouble with the elders and there may be another battle before it’s over. This is an a long book but it is a book I truly enjoyed it you like alternative universe is the new will definitely love the gossipy intrigue in Eric‘s tale it is part of the other world trilogy but you do not have to read the other books to understand what is happening I will however be on the lookout for the next book as I am now hooked. I want to thank Book Sprout and the author for my free Ark copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

This book is a companion novel to the Otherworld series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book as a coming of age sort of story about Eric. Although he’s overjoyed to find a new home away from his abusive mother, things aren’t all they seem. I love the author’s lush descriptions and fascinating characters. Although it’s set in a fantasy world, it is still relevant and tackles issues young people (and maybe all people) can relate to. If you liked any of the Otherworld series novels, this book is a must-have. It’s also a great introduction to those novels if you haven’t read them yet.

This is a great coming of age story as we get to see Eric, whose mother is horrible and abusive, escape from her clutches and find a new home where he can be happy and live in peace, or can he?? As per the normal nothing is as it seems as different things arise to shatter Eric’s illusions. The world building is incredible and the story different and enthralling as we see Eric’s struggles as he is forced to face the truth and grow up. Gripping, and captivating this had me hooked from start to finish.

I found this book enjoyable and although I have not read the other books in this trilogy I did not feel I missed anything. I recommend this nice coming of age story as you learn about Eric and his new life free from an abusive mother.
