Julian, formerly from Texas, works as a programmer in Alexandria, VA. The proximity of Washington, DC provides him with both clients and nighttime entertainment. He loves his family, he's thrilled with his job. If it wasn't for his crippling fear of heights, his life would be perfect.
Cade bought a small riding stable outside of town. A training accident landed him with broken ribs, which leads to a tight cash flow. Helps comes in the form of a whole year of riding lessons, purchased for Julian by his wealthy Texas grandfather.
He and Julian find each other more than a little interesting. But getting close seems impossible when Cade hates accepting help - and intimacy proves challenging with his painful injury.
Will whole weeks of enforced, chaste courtship drive them entirely insane?
Cherry Blossoms is a fun, hot gay romance with explicit material and a happy ending.
Devyn Morgan is a contemporary man with a love of contemporary romance! He grew up in several different states due to his parents' careers, which instilled in him a love of travel and seeing new places. After finishing college, he traveled around the globe for two years in search of romance, experiences, and adventures. In that time, he came up with more story ideas than he could ever use, so he started to write gay fiction.
He currently lives in the eastern US with his partner and a dog, but he still considers himself a free spirit.
This is the perfect example of a sweet slow build up. Julian and Cade are both sweet shy guys. The story is realistic and flows smoothly. Great for Valentines and not full of angst. Loved it.
The book was lovely - probably one of my favourite Devyn Morgan stories. Cade and Julian meet when Cade is asked by Julian's grandfather to teach Julian to ride horses. Afraid of heights, Julian had given up riding many years previously when he hadn't coped with being on a taller horse. He had never lost the enjoyment of taking care of animals though and when he realises Cade needs help, Julian doesn't hesitate to step into the breach. Over time, the flicker of attraction from the first day fans out into a larger flame and it is beautiful to see the two men grow closer and closer. A really romantic feel good story, perfect for a cold February afternoon by the fire... I received a free ARC In exchange for an honest and balanced view. 4.5 stars rounded up, mostly a due to a few editing/spelling errors.
This is a well thought out story of overcoming fear and anxiety. It does need some a bit of editing and storyline work. Cade and Julian work well together.
Sweet storey but definitely needed another proof read. We all know I can't spell and/or type worth doodoo but even I recognized the mistakes. Plus there are a few instances where characters got mixed up. Would love to give it more - I liked the storey and the concept just can't get past the execution.
I loved reading Cherry Blossoms by Devyn Morgan. I loved how shy and reserved Julian is and how much he blushes. Cade was great also. He tries to do everything on his own and hates asking for help. Julian is from Texas where everybody loves to ride, and so did Julian when he was a teenager before he developed a fear of heights. His grandfather brought him a year's worth of riding lessons to help him get over his fear. Cade has an English riding stable and has suffered a nasty fall and broken some ribs. He isn't able to do any of the chores around the ranch and has limited funds to hire somebody to help while he heals. He is ecstatic when he has someone buy a years worth of riding lessons and pays in advance. Cade and Julian have instant chemistry but due to Cade's injuries can't do anything about it. I loved all of the sexual tension and couldn't wait for Cade's ribs to heal. The story was well-written, and the plot and characters were nicely developed, but the book needs to be edited. There were missing words and extra words and switched words, and Julian and Cade's names kept getting switched, which is always annoying. As this is an arc copy that I read, I am hoping that it went to an editor before it was released. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This was a slow-burn, sweet romance - just the kind I expect from Devyn Morgan. These are two sweet characters who deserve to be happy and it's just fun to watch them find that happiness together. Julian and Cade have wonderful connection and chemistry together and despite their insecurities they build a very loving relationship.
Even with a bit of insta-love, these two have a few challenges they have to face. Cade is nursing some broken ribs and Julian is technically his student, he's supposed to be teaching him to ride horses again. They quickly find though, that they have something special even if they have to take their time. I really enjoyed this story, it's a feel good read that left my heart happy! One of my favorites from Devyn!
