About the author

Frank W. Haubold was born in Frankenberg (Saxony) in 1955. After graduating from high school, he studied computer science and biophysics in Dresden and Berlin (doctorate 1989). Afterwards, his path led him through the stations in Chemnitz, Glauchau and Meerane to rural Waldsachsen, where he has lived and worked since 1985. Since 1989 he has been writing novels, novelettes and short stories of various genres (science fiction, fantasy, horror, contemporary).

Some of his novels and stories have been nominated for literary awards and have taken top spots in the respective competitions. In 2012 he won the Kurd Laßwitz Award for the best German-language SF story. In 2008 he won the German Science Fiction Award in both categories (Best Novel with "Die Schatten des Mars" and Best Short Story with "Heimkehr"). Some of his stories have since been translated and published and a. in Russia, Ireland, Italy and the USA.

Finally published novels: The three-part space opera "Götterdämmerung" ("Die Gänse des Kapitols" (2012), "Das Todes-Labyrinth" (2013), "Das Licht von Duino" (2015)) and actual the mystery-thriller "Dämonenstadt" (2019 ).
